The food was geberally delcious but there werent so many great vegetarian/vegan options. The guides and rangers were fantastic and the staff in the lodge were always friendly and enthusiastic. The rooms and outside spaces are also fabulous!
Manily just the lack of vegetarian/vegan options at mealtimes
We stayed in the villa and it exceeded ALL expectations. It is beautifully laid out, a huge space, private and beautifully decorated. Clean and lovingly maintained. Absolute paradise overlooking the river bed. The staff were exceptional especially Jacob our guide who got the pace, interest etc just right and knows the area so very well and Lindiwe with such a warm heart. Amazing game drives, Amarula hot chocolate and the food was out of this world! Stay was beyond EXCEPTIONAL. Wanted more time there and will definitely go back. Don’t agree with some comments on closed top concession meaning more limited game viewing - we did both on this holiday and saw just as much and some very special leopard sightings.
Not a thing
We had a great stay at Jock. Our guide was fantastic and we enjoyed all game drives. The lodge was fantastic with great meals and service.
Beautiful location

A brilliant place. Jan was an amazing guide, full of knowledge and easily ticked off the big 5. Gourmet food is impeccable although I was fit to burst after a few days of the food, no complaints there! Enjoyed the facilities, the game drives and the privacy of the place.
Rooms feel a little tired but I was informed that a refurb is due so that will solve that. Need to be a little more proactive with issues, I understand and accept things break but I shouldn’t have to inform staff multiple times.
We spent ages looking for the right place for our stay in Kruger. We opted for Jock Safari Lodge because everything was included - no surprise fees - and it’s a private concession area in the southern part of the park which meant it was easy to get to for us. I didn’t know what a private concession was but it’s basically a private part of the Kruger National Park which no one other than guests at Jock Safari Lodge can access. You also get access to the public areas of Kruger too so the area available is huge. The other reason we picked Jock Safari was because it’s in the park so game drives aren’t restricted by park gate opening times. On our first morning, we drive out of the front gate of the lodge and saw a leopard within 5 minutes! The game drives were excellent. We had a total of 4 people plus our guide, Patrick, in the jeep. Each drive was about 3 hours long and included a stop for a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. Again, the advantage of Jock Safari is that in the private concession you can get out of the jeep and walk around - which I don’t think you can do in the public areas of Kruger. If we get to go back to Jock Safari, we’ll definitely be asking for Patrick to be our guide - he was brilliant! The rooms at the lodge are great. Really clean and comfortable. We had an outdoor day bed (with a mosquito net) and a small plunge pool with sun loungers. Our view was onto the river bed. Each day around lunch time we could sit and look at an elephant right from our balcony area! Food at the lodge is also excellent! The best lamb I’ve ever had as well as countless other delicious dishes. You won’t go hungry. There tea, coffee and drinks before each game drive too. The staff were wonderful and so friendly. We forgot binoculars so they were kind enough to find a pair for us to borrow. (Definitely take your own binoculars though!) Overall, I can’t recommend Jock Safari Lodge enough.
Personal eindeutig das beste an der lodge
We liked Everything but especially our Ranger IKE who was amazing and made every Safari truly exceptional!
Nothing worth noting
Safari Tour bei jedem Wetter 😍 Ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen. Unser Tourguide ☺️ Neymeth 🙏
The game viewing and the rangers were very good and friendly
The rooms need updating and cleaned better.
Perfektes safarierlebniss!!
Everything was amazing, from food to staff to location and whole space. Lodges are super nice and comfortable.
Safari drives were exceptional Very spacious accomodation Lovely staff
Room could do with some maintenance, it was looking a little tired
The location of the lodge deep inside the Kruger National Park. Staff were friendly and food was excellent. The rangers are knowledgeable and ensure great day of game viewing.

Our stay at Jocks was the most magical experience in every way. Our ranger Jan was an incredible guide on the safari game drives, and we ended up seeing all big 5. Every meal at Jocks was delicious and an experience of its own. The staff was very delightful. Last but not least, the lodge itself was beautiful, with a massive outdoor space and day bed. I highly recommend Jocks!
The lodge was super great with facility more than everything we needed, with private pools and bath tub and also day bed outside to see the view. Great location in the middle of Kruger NP. We could see elephant walking in the dry riverbed from our room. The food and drinks were excellent, good quality and great taste. Game drive was super cool and super. Our ranger was very professional, and experienced that we could track to see more animals outside the main roads. All staffs are helpful with great hospitality. It is expensive, yes, but it is worth the money for sure.
nothing.
An amazing lodge - limited number of rooms, all well-appointed. small number of guests allowed for new friendships. ALL the staff were lovely. Delicious meals. Excellent ranger and we saw all the wildlife we could have hoped.
Nothing!
We stayed in a lodge, we had our own little plunge pool and outside bath and shower, having a bath in the bush listening to the birdsong was an amazing experience.
Nothing
Jock Safari is amazing, this was our second visit and we can’t wait to return. Our guide Jan was exceptional, he is knowledgeable and his enthusiasm for the bush is infectious - each game drive was brilliant. All of the staff are professional and friendly. The food and service are second to none. The little touches throughout the stay make it extra special.

We had an amazing 2 days at Jock Lodge. All of the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was fabulous. The quality of the food was up there with the best restaurants we would subsequently eat at in Cape Town. But the highlight were the 4 game drives with Jan (Jani) and the experiences & sightings we shared with 1 other couple on the first day and just ourselves on the 2nd day. To be on a concession within Kruger is just so much better than being out on the public roads. Priceless.
Nothing springs to mind.
Personalized care and service
Game sightings, accommodation, location and staff were all excellent. Food was delicious and abundant. Each day was something new. Leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino and lots of elephant : what’s not to like.
Nothing not to like here.
Everything about our stay was amazing! We did 7 game drives during our 4 night stay and experienced something special every time. Our cabin and dedicated spaces were spacious, private, well equipped and private. The food and service were exceptional!
Everything. The food was spectacular. The rangers have a brilliant sense of humour. The property is immaculate. I can’t wait to return
The breakfast was great, lots of options! Our ranger was very friendly and attentive and did his absolute best to make sure we got the best views of all the animals. The day bed overlooking the dry riverbed was fantastic, as well as the outside bath.
It was too cold when we went to properly use the plunge pool, but was fantastic otherwise.
Loved the privacy when wanted, but also loved meeting people from around the world! The food was amazing, the staff even better, and the game driving staff spectacular!!
Well organized, great food, varying menus, fantastic staff
Hard to pick out something bad, for us probably too much food! We choose to skip lunch everyday!!
Game drive and guide was knowledgable.
We had honeymoon suite with bath outside , my wife was unable to bath - too cold and no privacy. The toilet did not have a basin to wash your hands. Badly laid out bathroom facilities
The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was plentiful and delicious. The safari excursions were first class.
Only one suggestion for improvement: there is a motion-sensitive light at the coffee station in the room. When one of us got up at night to go to the bathroom, it came on, potentially waking up the other person. I'd suggest having a regular light switch there.
We loved the lodge. It was a truly special experience. Everything. The safari, the food, the environment of the hotel, the facilities, the staffs. It is an expensive experience, but totally worth it if you have the chance to invest!
An oasis of luxury and exceptional hospitality in stunning natural surroundings. We were fortunate in seeing all of the big five during our four game drives and the sightings were enhanced by the consideration and knowledge of our guide. Our experience exceeded my expectations.
Nothing
The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The rangers were good fun and all very knowledgeable. We successfully managed to see all the big 5, down to the commitment of our ranger. We really enjoyed the evening meal switching location each night and we were lucky enough to sample fine dining and river bbq under the night sky. Overall, a wonderful and an unforgettable stay.

Gorgeous rooms with fabulous private outdoor space overlooking a sand riverbed Great location within Kruger Fabulous bar and dining room spaces
Nothing really. Food - portions could be smaller
Fabulous location , great service
Nothing to dislike at this property
I had the pleasure of experiencing several game drives at Jock Safari Lodge recently, and I must say that the expertise and dedication of our ranger truly enhanced the entire adventure. He exhibited an exceptional knowledge of the local flora and fauna, providing insightful information and making each game drive an educational and memorable experience. His passion for wildlife conservation was evident, creating a contagious enthusiasm.
My recent stay at Jock Safari Lodge was very unsatisfactory. Despite having high expectations, several aspects fell short, leaving a lasting negative impression. First serious concern was the oversight in addressing dietary requirements. The hotel staff sent me an email, requesting dietary requirements (type 1 diabetes). Despite clearly communicating the condition as a diabetic, it seemed this information was not taken into consideration during meal preparation. This lack of attention to a crucial aspect of our stay was not only disappointing but also potentially harmful to my health. Then, the "hot tub", a feature we were particularly looking forward to, was disappointingly dirty. To the extent that it was unusable, it greatly impacted our overall experience. Additionally, the mosquito net in our room had noticeable holes, failing to serve its intended purpose of providing a barrier against insects. Furthermore, the culinary experience fell below expectations. The food, regrettably, was more than average, and for the price paid, we had anticipated a higher standard. The overall gastronomic experience failed to meet the standards we anticipated. Moreover, the room itself had a musty smell, which detracted from the comfort we sought during our stay. Lastly, despite the fact that I paid online, the hotel requested my banking details, which made it sound like it was a scam! Considering the significant cost involved, the overall experience was far from what we anticipated, making our stay, unfortunately, a very disappointing one.
Loved the lodges and different chill out places especially the outside bath to relax in
Nothing to dislike
Great location with access to Kruger and their own concession
Property was good but was looking a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Service in the restaurant was inconsistent.
Jock Safari has its own private consession so you can get closer to the animals and wildlife. This is a huge plus point for jock safari. The rangers are so knowledgeable about all of the nature around them. They know all the birds, the trees, the animals etc... The lodge is amazing. It's like being out in the wilderness yourself. Elephants come to the watering holes outside the lodge whilst youre eating breakfast sometimes... beautiful sight to see. The food is 5*, services is 5*, you meet some cool people on your drives. Sundowners in the park are wonderful and a lovely touch. Can't fault jock safari one bit. You'll be disappointed of you didn't stay here.
Nothing. It was all amazing.
We loved everything about Jock. For us, it was a little piece of heaven. We had the most incredible stay of our lives and made the most amazing memories, never to be forgotten. A trip to Kruger is a lifetime experience, and staying at Jock was definitely the cherry on top. If you're reading this and thinking of booking, then do it! You really won't regret it. The staff could not do more for you, you only had to think about another glass of wine and one was put in front of you. My gosh, do they love to feed you too, if it's not breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there is a morning or afternoon snack on the go. Definitely expect to eat your fill here! The rooms themselves are slightly on the small side, but this is more than accounted for in the outside space. A real must is a night outside on the daybed, I tried this (the other half wasn't brave enough), and it was an experience in itself. Our ranger Micha was absolutely incredible. What a true asset to the team at Jock he was. He had a way of ensuring we were in the right spot at the right time to see some of the most amazing widelife sightings you can imagine. His cheeky sense of humour had us on our toes, too, with him clearly enjoying winding us up with his "facts", he was just amazing. The little extras during the game drives, such as indulging in a rangers special (hot chocolate with Amarula) in some of the most spectacular landscapes are also memories to be forever cherished. Nothing is overlooked during a stay at Jock. Hopefully one day we will be able to return.
Everything: location, facilities, service, food! All excellent.
Nothing.
Everything! They are doing great job! I spotted a walking leopard at Villa 001. We love the outdoor cabana(viewing deck), it is private and quiet. The bathtub is nice! Overall this is on of the luxury villa in Kruger.
Dinner at the river bank! Cool!
Everything! We loved our time at jocks. The team was amazing. So incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable.
The safari with Jacob was incredible: 14 rhinos and 1 Léopard.... For the rest, the place was with dry river and no animals venue.
When we arrive at 14h25 and lunch close at 14h30, difficult to eat with a warm welcome... we were at a bad time and kitchen wants to close... not in good accord with booking price
Magic location, super staff, thrilling safaris! Worth every Rand!

The staff, the service, the food, and the game drives were exceptional
Nothing it was flawless
Beautiful lodge in a prime area of the Kruger, the rooms and service are exceptional with friendly staff and knowledgeable guides who go out of their way for you. We were planning our return visit before we’d even left.
Nothing
Fantastic place and team One of the most incredible lodge we have ever visited Our ranger Dawid is a true gem of a person
WiFi was down which meant credit card use for payment of extras was not possible and we were short of Rands. Fortunately the lodge offered to take euros instead.
All the food and support staff were fantastic Fine dining in the bush Throughout the lodge the staff were great Our Ranger, Janni, was exceptional Game drives are always a bit of a lottery but the coordination between Jocks cars was great and we rarely had a dull moment in 9 drives
Bungalows although with excellent outside spaces were a little cramped internally - a function of being one of the oldest lodges. Bar and restaurant facilities were great.
Food, service , friendly staff, drives were fantastic. You couldn’t ask for more.
Wi-Fi was poor in room and around pool area..
Everything about this hotel was perfect. The setting is incredible with its own private area within the national park. The hotel was luxurious and rooms were all spacious and beautifully decorated with a big decked outside area with plunge pool. The food was delicious especially the special BBQ night. All the staff were so friendly, professional and helpful. The safari experience was fantastic and our ranger Lazarus was amazing. Couldn't rate this place higher.
Nothing at all.
Best safari lodge we have been in.
Absolutely nothing.
food
game drive (we dont go off roads) no brai/fire at night
The Safaris were great, in the large concession area they go off the roads through the bush. There are several river beds. Not the focus, but the landscape is also really beautiful!
The weather :-)
We just loved everything about Jock. Our ranger Jacob was brilliant with a huge knowledge of the wildlife and we were very lucky to see the big five and much more. All the staff go out of their way to give you an enjoyable experience even making some a special cake for us and singing happy birthday which was totally unexpected but much appreciated. The food is excellent and you certainly won’t go hungry! Our room was very private with it’s own viewing deck overlooking the river bed where you can often see animals passing by and the only noises you hear are those of the animals and it is just magical.
nothing
The game drives are 100% the best bit of the stay. You get basically 2 x 4hr drives which are just amazing. Our tour guide Ike was very knowledgeable and we managed to see the big 5! They have their own concession where only Jock are allowed to drive. The gin and tonic sundowners on the evening game drive always went down a treat. The lodges are really nice for when you have some down time. The sit down meals were brilliant and you never went hungry. The staff were also amazing and very attentive and always having a laugh with you.
Nothing to dislike - you will not be disappointed :)
The staff and our ranger, Jan, were incredible. We were so spoiled for the entire duration of our stay and felt like part of the family. Each day, we saw new and exciting things on safari and learned so much.
There was nothing we disliked :)

Everything!! from the location to hospitality to the facilities everything was top notch. Food was exceptional and we were surprised at every meal with a new delicacy. The group of rangers are also very good. special mention to Jacob!
honestly nothing to mention
large rooms, amazing facilities- outdoor bath and shower, private plunge pool. veranda with views of river bed- saw family of elephants, a hyena, zebra and leopard walk past! great food, plenty of it, large portions. excellent wine, friendly and accommodating staff. had excellent massage. our guide, Micah, was excellent. very experienced and seemed to know where to go to get our own private experience of Kruger. saw all of the big 5 and more.
can’t really fault anything. would return in a heart beat.
Amazing quaint lodge hidden in the depth of the Kruger. fantastic location with views of the River bed to allow the Safari to continue while dining for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Nothing.
out of this world location and game drives and dinner in the riverbed
I liked everything but a lot of cobwebs on the ceilings. The wood etc good use some polishing etc. minor details
Beautiful secluded location. The suite itself was gorgeous. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive. Patrick our ranger for the game drives was brilliant- really knowledgeable, kept everyone laughing, and helped us find “the big 5”, plus many many more. It’s hard to pick a highlight, but for me it would have to be seeing a leopard up close both during the day and at night. I would absolutely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to revisit Kruger.
Nothing. It was fantastic.
