So peaceful and such great views
Nothing
idyllic property absolutely ideal for small groups or families staying together. Very personable service. Beautiful views of overlooking the waterhole/ lake.
Es war eine gemütliche heimelige Lodge und dass hat uns sehr gefallen. Sehr aufmerksam das Personal.
Es gab nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Sehr zu empfehlen.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating with our food. Overall, customer service was very good.
The room was not cleaned properly. Bedding had brown stains The room was not mopped. There was an ant hole Bathroom shower tiles were brown, which was not cleaned properly.
Beautiful scenery and comfortable rooms.
Very clean, comfortable and welcoming.
Our stay was everything we expected and beyond. The staff are absolutely wonderful. Steph our guide was exceptional. We saw and learnt so much. Her knowledge of the animals and their habitat was amazing. I highly recommend Elephant Rock to relax and enjoy our beautiful fauna and flora.

Game Drives and guide could be better
Our stay in the Elephant Rock lodge is the highlight of our entire trip to South Africa. The premises are beautiful: very green, clean and intimate. There can be a max of 10 persons staying at the lodge at a time, which (we think) is the perfect quantity to have a fun but at the same time to get a personal experience. The staff were extremely nice to us, everything had a personal touch. We were greeted after every drive with drinks and warm towels, the rooms were kept clean and there was always water/ coffee available. A special mention goes to the meals (everything was delicious) and to the cooks. As for the game drives, we had a very special experience. We are grateful to our ranger, Marli, for making our first safari experience memorable. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and our every single drive ended up an amazing experience (we even saw a leopard). Overall, we are very happy to have chosen this lodge. Our stay there was a true pleasure and a moment of rest.
The only thing we did not like was the fact that the rooms were cleaned every time we were out on a game drive (so twice a day)- we would have liked to be asked about our preference - “would you like to have your room cleaned at this time”?
Globalement, parfait
L’endroit est magique. La vue sur l’étang est incroyable ! On y a vu énormément d’animaux
The overall experience of Elephant Rock was superb. Great staff and amazing food. Steph as our tour guide was so knowledgeable and certainly made our stay an unforgettable one.
It could have been warmer hahahah
Facilities were great & everything within easy walking distance. Views over the waterhole whilst eating breakfast were gorgeous. A short walk to the viewing deck is a lovely relaxing treat with animals close by.
Absolutely nothing!
The all-inclusive option
Beautiful boutique lodge accommodating less than 15 guests at any one time. The perfect place to go for quiet and relaxation in the bush. Everything is clean, well presented and we were treated as special guests.
Absolutely superb, the location was great overlooking a waterhole. Very tastefully decorated. Loved that it is a small lodge with max of 10 guests. The rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable with lovely decks with comfortable chairs. The staff were all efficient and friendly. The food was very good. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather so breakfast and lunch were catered for outside on the main deck. The pool area was gorgeous, pool towels and even sun lotion was available. Everywhere was well looked after, neat and quiet. Of course the main reason for visiting was for the game and this didn’t disappoint. We had Stephanie as a guide and she was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and a lovely sense of humour. The game drives were twice a day and the reserve is so diverse in vegetation so always changing. Lovely sightings and even when the game was hiding Stephanie always found something interesting to show us. Coffee stop in the morning and a sundowner stop on the afternoon drive. Very casual, relaxed and informal atmosphere. Definitely will return. Thank you to Steve, Stephanie, Rene and all the staff for a memorable couple of days.
Nothing I can think of.
Wonderful staff, personal attention and excellent game viewing
It’s a small lodge, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious.
Just a suggestion: no water bottles were given during the game drive. You could fill your own. Very happy with that idea. Instead of small shower gel, shampoo bottles that are also plastic , have a big bottle that is attached in the bathroom in the shower etc, bath etc that can be re filled
Lovely setting, nice rooms, friendly staff
Our guide was relatively inexperienced. She tried hard, but it her inexperience showed. Food was acceptable, not wonderfully special. You are requested to choose your next meal from the day’s menu after each meal, and breakfast at 5am before the morning game drive - not ideal, having either just eaten or woken!
the facility was wonderful, very comfortable, food was really good and the game drives were fantastic!
Nothing not to like.
It's definitely a luxury holiday but the price is just very high.
The staff, food and facilities were great
I am originally from South Africa and have travelled the country quite extensively in the past, I thought the signage and explanation's from the locals and gate staff quite poor for a foreign visitor travelling on their own.I think the main issue as a foreign tourist is getting to and from your location.
Stephanie, our game drive guide, was exceptional. She was knowledgeable, calm, and ensured we had an incredible experience. We saw so much in just two drives. The room was absolutely stunning, with a thoughtful and elegant design that made the stay feel special.
Unfortunately, the pillows in the room were dirty when we arrived, which was disappointing given the overall quality of the property. While most of the staff were friendly, one of the team members made me feel uncomfortable when I asked for a toast with my egg, which shouldn’t have been an issue.
The whole vibe was friendly, professional and the food was exceptional. The game drives were good and enjoyable and the guides excellent
Nothing really
Mor than enough healthy food
Charming buildings with great atmosphere and a view on a waterhole that is frequented by all kinds of animals (amongst also giraffes). Great hospitality the staff goes the extra mile to make this an unforgettable experience and you don’t want to leave. The meals were delicious and creative. The rooms were clean, comfortable beds and a great bathroom, I loved the outdoor shower. The gamedrives were awesome we saw plenty of animals, we were lucky to see the big five but were there for three nights so not all on one drive. The ranger was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and she told very interesting background stories. It’s very interesting to learn about how you keep the balance that all the herbivores have their food and there’s an equilibrium with the carnivores too. Also to see and be explained how animals adapt. I made some amazing lion and cheetah pictures. A place you want to return to and see how it develops.
No complaints. For me personally every day room cleaning is unnecessary and also not making my bed twice a day (I napped for 30-60 minutes after a game drive). Because every time I needed to rearrange the bed to my liking. Also towels are hung somewhere else, luckily I was alone but it might be confusing when there’s two people sharing the room.
The staff, the atmosphere, the location and the skilled ranger.
Nothing. I was happy with everything.
Food,accommodation and staff were brilliant
Nothing
Eveything
Only gripe was the door that didn't close without banging it.
Everything. It's just so cosy and romantic Made me feel so good to be there. The massage was just heavenly
Nothing not to like
The meals were great. They were flexible enough to accommodate dietary requirements. The game drives were wonderful, we managed to see many animals, birds, reptiles, insects and the wonderful flora and fauna. Staff were exceptionally friendly and warm.
Everything about our stay was exceptional, greeted with welcome drinks and help with luggage and shown to rooms personally. The rooms are clean and spacious and every little detail has been thought of and they are fully serviced whilst you are on the game drive in the morning and turned down on your return in the evening. The game drives were fantastic and Keegan was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about everything he showed us but they were also fun. Snacks and drinks were provided on the drives and hot towels and drinks were ready when we arrived back. The food and service from the staff was great and there are hot drinks, water and biscuits available throughout the day. The grounds of the lodge are beautiful with great views of the waterhole.
There was nothing to fault
From the moment you arrive to leaving you are treated with Five Star Service. Hot Towels after all game drives including cherry and hot chocolate in the evenings. Our ranger Peter was exceptional with so much knowledge and always looked to take us to find all the animals. We spent our afternoon between drives around the rock pool which was super and the team brought us drinks. The food was fabulous and more than you need. The desserts and dinners were exceptional. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. Our rooms were incredible, clean, huge, comfortable and view to the water hole was so cool and we could often see animals on the horizon. Loved the turn down services, often with roses and candles and the room was serviced in the morning while on the morning game drive which i really liked. There was always snacks and it is a lodge you can have a-lot of privacy and quiet if you want it. I loved the fire place and the dinner setting inside and outside. Assistance with luggage on arrival and departure and always someone on call if you need anything. I would recommend this Accommodation to anyone wanting first class attention to detail. We had a few game drives on our own which was very cool and we were very happy with all our animal sightings, getting to see everything except the elusive leopard. Thank you Elephant Rock for a fabulous 2 night stay and experience in Nambiti.
