I loved my stay a YEN. The location is so beautiful and peaceful. Staff are very helpful, we rented a scooter from them and they also organised taxis when the weather was bad. The room was nice and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was tasty.

The drawback is the location is further away from the main town (but this is also a positive for me). If you can’t ride a scooter and need to get around a lot taxis can get expensive.

Lief personeel, spreken goed Engels. Fijne service! Zo hadden we geen warm water maar werd er direct meegedacht en werd dit de volgende dag gemaakt. In de tussentijd hadden we toegang tot een ander huisje was we gebruik mochten maken van de douche. Ook de locatie is prachtig!

הריזורט הזה היה בין היפים שראיתי. המיקום כל כך יפה ומטופח, הצוות מקסים עם אנגלית מצויינת, והם עזאו לנו בכל מה שביקשנו. יש להם ווצאפ זמין, ושירות מוניות נוח לכל מקום. האוכל במסעדה היה מצוין, הזמנו אורז מטוגן עם עוף והבת שלי בת השנתיים מאוד נהנתה מהמנה. אנחנו ממליצים בחום, ואם נחזור לקאט בה בוודאות נחזור לישון במקום המהמם הזה.

המיטה הייתה עבורנו קשה מדי. מלבד זאת הכל היה נפלא.

We loved our stay in Yen Hidden Valley. We stayed in a bungalow- I had seen other reviews mention it felt too small but it was perfect for a couple travelling with backpacks. The room was clean and well presented- really nice bathroom. The location was absolutely stunning and we didn't mind the short travel into town. We rented a bike from the property and they were kind enough to let us continue our bike rental and store our bags after our check-out. It was great to have breakfast available at the property, there was also the option for dinner and snacks throughout the day.

Not at all a problem but just for information if you are travelling to Cat Ba and staying here your bus will not be able to go straight to the property- there is an option to be collected from the bottom of the road and the hosts are very helpful with communicating with you about this.

Alles einfach wundervoll, die Lage ist mitten in der Natur, ruhig und so idyllisch. Das Essen sehr lecker, und alles in allem, das beste Hotel auf der Insel.

Beautiful family run boutique hotel in the hills of Cat Ba, surrounded by lovely nature. Service was fantastic with staff able to help with any request similar to what you'd expect in a proper 5 star hotel chain. The pool was an absolute highlight, really relaxing and always lots of space without loads of people around due to the small nature of the hotel! Rooms cleaned every day to a high standard plus had all the amenities you could possibly need.

Payment on checkout had a 3% foreign currency fee for card transactions. Wasn't warned about this in advance & would have been nice if this was absorbed by the hotel given the upmarket nature of it.

YEN Hidden Valley is like a small piece of paradise. The views over the valley are amazing, especially with the recent flooding creating a beautiful lake, and the location is peaceful and far from the town. The staff were wonderful, especially Chip, and we really enjoyed the breakfast and dinners at the restaurant.

The rooms are a bit small, but we already knew this when booking, so it wasn't a surprise. The location is quite remote, and it takes about 25 minutes by car to reach the town and the pier for Lan Ha Bay, but for us the peaceful surroundings were worth it.

Personeel was erg vriendelijk en sprak goed Engels.

Deze accommodatie vinden wij overpriced, ook qua eten en vervoer.

We have stayed in some amazing places around the world but this is up there with one of the best. Waking up to that view every morning really makes your heart sing. I'm so happy to have found this hidden retreat and will definitely be back given the chance. The room is very clean and comfortable and the staff so helpful and polite. I had a massage there and was again one of the best I've had. It's off the beaten track but you can hire a scooter to get around for a good rate. Can't recommend this enough, very sad to leave.

아침 식사도 따로 만들어 주고 뷔페식도 있었고 무엇보다도 수영장이 되게 깊이도 적절하고 깨끗하고 모든 것이 정리가 잘 되어 있었습니다. 앞에 보여지는 산들이 너무 평화롭고 아름다웠고 그런 점이 이 숙소를 처음 결정하게 된 이유였습니다. 스태프들이 상당히 친절했고 택시를 타거나 우천시에 케이블카가 운행 하는지 이런 부분들을 로컬이 아니면은 알기가 쉽지가 않은데 그런 부분을상당히 본인 일처럼 도와주셔서 감사했습니다. 저희는 작은 방을 예약해서 묵었었는데 다음에 가면 큰 방도 궁금하고 작은 방도 두 명이 간단한 짐을 가지고 가기에는 넉넉한 사이즈였습니다. 샤워실도 옆에 숲 같은 작은 식물들을 볼 수 있는 디자인이 너무 예뻤고 모든 것이 청결 했습니다.

Prachtige & rustige locatie off the beaten track. Mooi en ruim appartement uiterst geschikt voor een gezin. Groot zwembad.

Echte glazen voorzien in het appartement, geen bekers. Elektriciteit sputterde soms wat tegen waarschijnlijk door piekverbruik. Tijdens onze 2de nacht werkte de airco niet meer in 1 van de kamers maar gelukkig was er nog een andere kamer beschikbaar. Jammer dat er geen Grab aanwezig is op Cat Ba.

Cet hôtel est incroyable ! Niché dans une vallée, entouré d’une végétation tropicale, une vue depuis la suite magnifique, cet hôtel est le plus beau que nous ayons fait. Le personnel est vraiment super. Je recommande fortement.

Ligging is mooi, met uitzicht over het groen. De bungalows zijn niet groot, maar konden prima met 2 grote backpacks alles kwijt. Fijne koelkast en airco werkt goed! Het zwembad is ook echt super mooi en schoon. Ontbijt erg goed en genoeg keuze en avond eten vonden wij ook heerlijk! De fresh springrolls waren favoriet. Personeel sprak Engels en zeer behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Kortom een echt paradijs

Prachtige omgeving en uitzicht op een groene vallei. Fijn zwembad, prima restaurant. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame staff.

A quiet place, breathtaking scenery, specious rooms

It was perfect

Mooi plekje op Cat Ba. Wel wat ver van alles, maar dat hadden we al gelezen, inderdaad 'Hidden' ;) Eigenaar brengt en haalt je (tegen betaling) overal op. Grab werkt hier niet. Dus je moet scooter huren of taxi regelen. Heerlijk gegeten 's middags en 's avonds. Zwembad is echt geweldig mooi en je hoort de apen om je heen vanuit het naastgelegen NP. Fijne kamer met lekkere bedden.

Er waren eigenlijk in de eetzaal wat weinig tafels, dus kom bijtijds! Eten was hier het duurst van de hele vakantie en dat vonden we eigenlijk wat uit verhouding tot wat we in andere hotels hebben betaald. Vonden Cat Ba mooi om de boottocht te doen naar Lan Ha bay en verder vonden we het dorpje Cat Ba en eiland wat tegenvallen. Had de stranden mooier verwacht maar lag erg veel afval overal.

Wir verbrachten 2 wunderschöne Tage an einem herrlichen Ort. Alles hat gestimmt. Die Unterkunft mit der großen Glasfront, der tolle Pool, das leckere, frische Essen und die sehr freundlichen Besitzer, die unsere Touren hervorragend für uns organisiert haben

Ligt prachtig gelegen in een vallei, wel afgelegen. Accommodatie faciliteert zelf het vervoer, halen en brengen je tegen vaste prijzen wat erg prettig is. Personeel is lief en erg bereid al je vragen te beantwoorden

Huisjes zijn klein. Een koffer kan eigenlijk niet opengeklapt binnen blijven staan zonder dat dit het looppad volledig blokkeert

Prachtige locatie in de vallei, weg van de drukte. Behulpzaam personeel, stonden altijd ter beschikking. Lekker eten in het restaurant van het hotel. Goed ontbijt.

Het ligt 15 min rijden met de taxi naar het centrum. Dit was voor ons geen probleem maar in de buurt zijn er geen restaurants dus moet je wel rekening mee houden.

Un havre de tranquillité au milieu de la nature avec un accueil chaleureux et une disponibilité. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Le petits déjeuné est délicieux.

Tran and Huei were very friendly and helpful organising our boat trip and taxis. The yen hidden Valley is very picturesque and quiet in nature. We loved our private boat trip with Zan.

Super vriendelijk personeel die altijd voor je klaarstaan. Omdat we vroeg moesten vertrekken, werden de ontbijturen wat vervroegd zodat we nog wel van een overheerlijk ontbijt konden genieten voor vertrek! Enorm grote kamer die zeer netjes was! En wat een uitzicht vanuit de kamer op het zwembad en de omgeving. Zeer rustgevend omdat het uit de stad ligt en midden in de natuur!

Het water in de douche was lauw, maar niet echt een probleem met het warme weer!

L’emplacement est magique. Une parenthèse à la ville de Cat Ba. Un vrai lieu de repos.

Un tour proposé : trek dans la vallée des papillons. Le guide était dit « anglais » et c’est faux. Il connaît quelques mots mais les échanges sont pauvres. Mais, le guide était extrêmement sympathique.

In de kamer waren de schuifdeuren tussen de slaapkamer en woonkamer stuk. Zwembad zag er een beetje groen uit, dat gaf af aan de zwemkleding.

The bugs. Totally understandable due to this hotel is in the middle of nature. Some bug spray in the room would be useful so we could take care of this when needed.

Mooie ligging, weg van de drukte. Alles netjes, mooi zwembad en ligging aan natuurgebied. Heel behulpzaam, geen gedoe. Vraag een scooter bij het hotel, en verken het eiland 🌴🐸🦋🌴. Huur een privé speedboat (vraag aan standjes aan haven) en ga naar Viet Hai, neem daar de fiets om het verkeersvrije dorpje te verkennen 🚲! Doe de hike naar het uitzichtpunt in het natuurgebied! Wij reisden door van 1 nacht/2 dagen cruise. In plaats van terug te keren naar de haven en veel tijd te verliezen regelde de cruise een motorboot bij afsluit cruise rechtstreeks naar Cat Ba. Ideaal!

Het uitzicht is fantastisch, heerlijk rustig. Service is perfect, ze brengen je overal heen waar je maar wil. Alles werd geregeld, ontbijt is OK. We konden bordspellen spelen, het was geweldig

It was a relaxing haven, perfect to escape the hustle and bustle. The food in the restaurant was delicious and staff very helpful. The room was spacious and the views were lovely. We really enjoyed listening to the monkeys in the forest and watching all the lovely butterflies. The private boat trip around Lan Ha Bay that the hotel organised for us was a real highlight!

Loved the pool area and the customer care. TK and his cousin (chip?) are top notch people and were so helpful! The restaurant food was awesome and the included breakfast was also great. Overall would highly recommend for stay. TK was always keen to help and the staff organized our Lan Ha bay cruise and also arranged for scooters which were a godsend. Take a bow team, would recommend to all family and friends to stay at this beautiful hidden gem.

Breathtaking location, away from everything else and in the peace and quiet. A car (free) is arranged to pick you up for check-in and drop you off for check-out, from/to up the road if you arrive by bus. They have mopeds you can rent to get into town and back, the roads aren’t treacherous so it’s easy to do. There was a good selection at breakfast -the scrambled eggs are deliciously seasoned.

The bungalows are very small which you don’t quite realise when booking. The swimming pool could be cleaner- lots of floating debris + algae on the walls, so much so that our swimming costumes are now stained.

Everything was perfect—from the staff's attitude to the location. It's a very quiet and beautiful valley where you feel completely at peace and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The bungalows are small, but clean and cozy, and have everything you need for a relaxing stay. There's a beautiful pool with the right depth, and the grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Parking is available. Breakfasts are modest but delicious—there's a choice of hot dishes, a few snacks, and fresh fruits and vegetables. The coffee in the hotel restaurant was very nice. We'll definitely come back here again to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi.

Absolutely stunning location and setting, super clean, beautiful room.

L’hôtel est juste magnifique, la piscine est face aux montagnes, les bungalows sont super mignons. Le personnel est adorable et très serviable. Le matin on se réveillait et il y avait une dizaine de papillons à côté de notre balcon. C’était comme dans un rêve.

Le seul point négatif un peu loin de la ville mais nous en avons profité pour nous reposer et cela nous a bien déconnecté

Wat een mooie plek! Het uitzicht, de rust… zeker een aanrader. Met een taxi of scooter ben je in ongeveer 10 a 15 minuten bij de restaurants, koffiebarretjes etc.

Het bijbehorende restaurant is relatief duur en de kwaliteit is redelijk.

Dałbym 10, ale jedzenie, zarówno na śniadaniu, jak i w restauracji, było bardzo przeciętne, a ponadto cena była chyba trochę zbyt wysoka jak na otrzymane warunki - przynajmniej jak na warunki Wietnamu

De ligging, het zwembad, het ontbijt en de mogelijkheid om heerlijke massages te doen!

Het serviceniveau viel ons wat tegen. Zo was een medewerker altijd aan het gamen, en voelde het alsof je hem stoorde met een vraag. Ook werd ons gevraagd onze drankjes die we bij het zwembad konden nuttigen weer terug te brengen bij het restaurant. Het was fijn dat er een taxi service was, maar deze was aardig aan de prijs. Kortom: met alle positieve andere reviews hadden we meer service verwacht!

Small hidden gem, with a beautiful view! Staff is very friendly. Outside of of Cat Ba town so you do need a scooter or taxi, but easy to arrange with the staff. It’s a nice quite spot and perfect after a day of exploring the area. We were staying with two kids (6&8) and the sofa bed was too small for them, so we had to pay extra for an extra bed.

Un établissement niché au cœur de la forêt, à proximité immédiate d’une magnifique zone d’escalade mêlant végétation tropicale et grandes falaises. Le lieu est vraiment très mignon, parfaitement propre, et offre une atmosphère hors du temps. Le service est exceptionnel : à la moindre demande, l’équipe se plie en quatre pour trouver des solutions, que ce soit pour la location de scooters ou l’organisation de transports vers différents sites. La piscine est également très jolie et invite à la détente. Les bungalows, bien que situés les uns à côté des autres, offrent un vrai sentiment d’intimité, comme si l’on était seul au monde. Un endroit idéal pour se ressourcer.

Si je dois vraiment chercher un point négatif, je dirais qu’après deux jours de forte pluie, il y avait pas mal de moustiques. Cela dit, ce n’est pas lié à l’établissement, mais simplement à son emplacement au cœur de la forêt. On entend même les singes, ce qui fait aussi partie du charme du lieu — difficile donc de trouver un réel point faible.

The location was peaceful and the pool, room and facilities were superb! It was such a lovely stay and the staff were lovely and helpful. Food was also delicious! Highly recommend for a relaxing stay.

Really liked this place. Staff are super friendly, food is decent but most importantly it’s set in a lovely location away from the noise and over development of Cat Ba town. What a jewel. We extended our stay 3 times because we didn’t want to leave.

La situation de l'hôtel, dans un cadre idyllique, au calme. Le personnel aux petits soins, toujours très souriant et arrangeant. Le bungalow avait une chambre suffisante, il manquerait juste un rangement supplémentaire. Belle salle de bain et bonne literie. La piscine est magnifique et très propre. La restauration est très bonne. Petit déjeuner très varié et excellent. L'endroit est à l'écart de toutes commodités (boutiques, autre restauration...) L'hôtel loue des scooters et demande le pick up de l'hôtel dès que l'on en a besoin.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Yen Hidden Valley Cat Ba. It's a peaceful, family-run place surrounded by nature, green hills, flowers, and lots of butterflies. Perfect for escaping busy Hanoi. The family arranged everything for us, from transport to Ha Long Bay and Hanoi to great boat trips and a guided walk through Butterfly Valley. The food was delicious, especially breakfast, and the coffee was most excellent. The staff were very kind and spoke English well. They even sorted all our laundry in just a few hours; it came back clean, dry, and smelling freshly laundered. With a relaxing pool, friendly service, and a calm atmosphere, this is a truly special place. We hope to return someday. Thank you

Piscine très agréable Très beau cadre au cœur d’une jolie vallée avec vue sur une formation rocheuse que des visiteurs viennent photographier (> elle doit être dans un guide local !) Restaurant sur place (ce qui est nécessaire, car, corolaire de la localisation, le lieu est à l’écart de la ville) Service de transports à la demande très efficace qui nous a déposés à Cat Ba City et à l’embarcadère de Ben Beo Présence d’un spa (non testé)

Ras À noter que les chambres classiques semblent être des « tiny houses » (charmantes, mais petites). Nous avions une junior suite (plus spacieuse et avec une kitchenette)

The location was beautiful and perfect for relaxing. It is a little more complicated to get around if a scooter is not an option for you but the hotel helped us a lot!
