La Ven Guesthouse

Very accessible to other restos and other spots. The host is very friendly, accommodating, and kind

Not much

Location was perfect. Staff was nice.

Maybe it’s about time to do some upgrade and renovation, for example the toilet. Otherwise no other issues.

Zentral gelegen in San Juan.

Am Tag viel Verkehr, etwas laut.

We have a good stay here its close to all. The room was okay the staff specially the lady is good.

Location

Roosters in the actual garden, so early wake was inevitable. The unit was at the back & the family with a big mkt stall lived in the back of the garden. It’s screened off by tarp, but you can hear them all day & night. Football in the radio, kids crying etc. - This is not shown in the pictures. I was not given a unit that the pictures depicted. I feel slightly conned.

location

need little renovation

Very very nice Lady who runs it, keeps it clean and tidy and very helpful and kind. It's a bit budget, a little old and tarnished, but clean and good service if you want/need any help. And very good location. So I really enjoyed it.

Well only small things could be the AC was very loud, and my room had no hot water, but still ok temperature. And for this price and location I think it's OK small things.

The location

NO HOT WATER AT ALL RLY OLD ROOMS NO TOILET SEAT LOTS OF NOISE FROM THE KIDS OUTSIDE LOTS OF NOISE FROM THE UPSTAIR ROOMS (IF SOMEONE WALKING, U HEAR EVERY LITTEL STEP)

Die Lage

Ein massives Ameisen Problem

The location, the water station, the staff

The shower had no hot water and there were ants in the room

Accessible to all tourist spots

None

Convenient location, clean and spacious room.

Loud air-conditioning unit

Perfect location and great value for money. Staff was very nice to our big group. We had all the 3 terrance rooms to ourselves and my family enjoyed our stay

Good location, caretaker was nice and friendly, room is nice and big.

Could be a bit cleaner, electricity let going off and internet not really working (both of these are not the properties fault!)

Nothing!

The door lock in the bathroom is broken, the water in the shower is leaking and you can't stop it, the air conditioner is noisy, and there is no generator set to cater to the customers, which should have been mentioned during booking since Siquijor has now been declared a state of calamity due to the power crisis.

The hotel is in a great location and the woman who works there is very friendly.

There was no WiFi, no hot water and room was tiny and many bugs in the room.

Wi-Fi doesn't work

The lady tried her best to accommodate me, the location was good, the bed was OK, there were hot water in the shower

The bathroom was attacked by ants, which made it dirty. The neighbor stands played music very loud very early in the morning. When I complained to the staff, they discussed it with them and the next morning it was OK tough.

+wonderful host +felt safe as solo +matched booking.com description +social +central +comfy and big bed +outdoor kitchen +met all basic needs

-top right room's AC did not work very well on some hot days. -top right room very noisy, street noise, roosters, birds nesting outside (not mad about it, just something to note) Accd to the guests the lower rooms did not have noise issues or AC issues.

relative to the hostels in San Juan, this is a much better option. Both of the bunk beds are double beds & comfortable and the location is perfect as it's right in the center of the town. Also the WiFi worked well for us (unless the island was having power cuts). Has its own kitchen area too which was a nice bonus.

It is so incredibly loud that you can't sleep. Roosters / cockerels (I think we counted 8 different ones) are going off since 5am & because it's just off the main road, and the windows are glass shutters, they do not keep any noise out. The road is super loud too so we were having to sleep with headphones, not able to get asleep until after 1am and awake from 5am each day. If you are a light sleeper you may want to go elsewhere. Receptionist also wasn't too helpful, we had no hot water whatsoever and asked her how it could be fixed to which she couldn't help. Overall an okay stay but wouldn't return due to the noise issues.

Perfect location in San Juan. The owner is very kind and welcoming. Simple rooms but as we had expected from the photos. Walking distance to great restaurants.

Room and bathroom could be cleaner.

Nice size room. Refillment for water inside the room. Toilettries provided. Quiet location but enought restaurants and cafeterias in the area. Right on solangon beach. Access to sister resort the Bruce and it's pool and infrastructure was handy, especially since with low tide cannot have a bath in the sea.

No air-con. Ants in the room, some inside the kettle so could not use the free coffee provided.

Location and staff

No power generator, no power during check in around 10AM until 10PM. Electricity back at 10PM and off again at 11PM until 3AM. So we had to open the door to get some air. If this is an issue atleast then have a standby chargable fan with light.

+ Lovely ladies running the place, always helpful and accommodating. + Very good value for the island : own bathroom and toilets, decent water pressure in shower, A/C (Filipino style), large bedroom, comfy bed + Close to beachfront and centrally located within San Juan area

- No hot water (I know, who needs hot water when it is 30°C outside...) - Sink has very little pressure (you can always use the faucet from the shower) - No generator: during my stay, electricity on Siquijor was scarce, only working on and off for a few hours making it challenging to charge phones and enjoy A/C

Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Room size was good

Loud air con, cleanliness wasn't the best, and ants everywhere...

No hot water in one of the rooms. That should have been mentioned on booking in advance. Dirty room full of ants and I found two cockroaches. Uncomfortable beds and bad lighting

Located in the heart of San Juan, but quiet in the evenings. Close to bakery, supermarket, and good restaurants. Beach and food market two minutes away. Room was as described. Good a/c, clean and comfortable (but simple). No insects in the room apart from a few harmless ants by the big sink. Good water pressure (cold water only). Free drinking water. I had an accident with a moped and the lady who manages the guest house was super kind and helpful whilst I was recovering.

Nothing

good, located at heart of siquijor lol

the lights

Extended my stay as I liked it here so much. 50 Pesos to Peliton beach, 800 to Salagdoong on a 3 wheeler. Room at the rear was very quiet (and I m a light sleeper).

No soap or any toiletries.

Great little guesthouse right in the centre of San Juan, near the market. I had the room right at the back and slept very well. The caretaker is a lovely lady. Room was simple but had a/c and a little terrace with table and chairs.

Bathroom could have been a little cleaner, and no soap was provided.

1. Absolutely lovely owner. 2. Room was very spacious. 3. Good locations for bars and restaurants. 4. Hired a scooter from the owner. 5. Beds were comfy.

1. Air Con was loud. 2. Shower was cold.

Location Helpful owner Provided a kettle Free water Mirror Outside bench Table n chair inside Free towels No lamp just one

Lots of mosquitoes Air con noisy No toiletries Hairs in the shower Loose tap

Dirty bathroom, dirty kitchen, very loud traffic noise. No private kitchen, unlike the description.

House keeper and owner were really lovely and any problems were resolved really quickly. The owner allowed us to get in early which was a god sent to us early in the morning with a baby! There is a convenience store right opposite and a bakery next door. Lots of drivers over the road to help with trips around the island. A waterfall only a 10 min drive away.

No hot water… not a problem for many people but we have a baby. The lady did give us a big bucket our baby could fit in though and we boiled the kettle to make a warm bath for him. Loads of ants in our room and on the bed but the house keep sprayed the room and they seems to be ok after. Small things I would expect in a home stay but they didn’t have is a sink to wash up, no soap in the room, no mirrors anywhere so god knows what your hair looks like ahah!

Even though this was a small place the staff was always there. Amazing. She really cared about this stay.
