Er waren veel gebreken, zo zag ik kwalijke veiligheids risico's in de Electra een loshangende aarde draad naast de douche, wat betekent dat de warmwater apparaat niet geaard was en bij kortsluiting voor water dat stroom geleid. Een router voorzien van stroom door een audiokabel. Verder geen schoonmaak van de kamer en geen verversing van handdoeken, tenzij je zelf helemaal naar voren loopt om te vragen. Het ontbijt had ik inclusief en het was zeer minimaal. Na klagen mocht ik nogmaals een ontbijt uitkiezen.

We usually try to ignore minor inconveniences while traveling, especially in island destinations, so at first we did not pay much attention to some of the previous negative reviews. Also the ants did not bother us — it is called a jungle guesthouse after all. However, the water situation during our stay was simply unacceptable. For 4 nights we basically had to shower using buckets because there was either no running water at all or only a tiny trickle coming out of the shower. Sometimes water worked briefly around midday or very late at night, but even then the pressure was extremely weak. The explanations from the staff were also inconsistent. We were repeatedly told that “everyone on the street has no water” or that “the pipes are broken,” but if that were really the case, why did water occasionally work? It honestly seemed more like a general long-term issue with the accommodation itself. What disappointed us even more was the reaction from the staff. Nobody seemed particularly interested in solving the issue or even properly responding to our concerns. We also sent a direct message about the situation during our stay, which was completely ignored. The included breakfast was another disappointment. The menu stated that breakfast included things like eggs and juice, but when ordering we were told otherwise, and the portions were extremely small. Of course this is not a luxury resort, and we understand that some things can‘t work on islands. But at around 40€ per night, this is also not one of the cheapest accommodations on the island, so we expected at least functioning water and/or basic customer service (Or simply inform the guests before arriving because it seems like a long-term thing).

Close to beach and comfy bed

There was no running water for most of my stay, which meant I could not properly use the shower or even flush the toilet. This is completely unacceptable for any accommodation. The staff were rude, dismissive, and refused to properly deal with the issue. Instead of apologizing or trying to help, they denied responsibility and refused any compensation despite the major inconvenience. I would not recommend staying here.

La falta de limpieza. Todo lleno de insectos, telarañas y otros. En ocasiones no hay agua. Dificil ducharse. Ducha rota. Poca agua. Todo sucio con muchas marcas de insectos muertos. Muy poco cuidado. No lo recomiendo.

Location was spot on. Walking distance from a lot of restaurant choices and a few minute drive from party places and Paliton beach. Room was decent and very clean, though the price point is a bit high for its basic inclusions--- still a good value for money. Staff were very helpful and polite.

I wished they offered to change sheets/towels though since I stayed there for 5 days.

Alles, mega vies naar schimmel ruikende kamer. Mieren en ander ongedierte liep gewoon binnen en kon zo onder de deur door. Vieze badkamer, waterdruk was erg laag waardoor douchen haast niet mogelijk is Om de hoek van het huisje leek het wel een of ander opslagplek voor allemaal rommel. Aircofilters waren erg vies, we zijn hier ook allebei ziek geworden in de 4 nachten dat we er hebben geslapen..

Wir hatten zwei Deluxe Doppelzimmer (28m2) mit Klimaanlage, Balkon etc. gebucht. Als wir angekommen sind haben sie uns in kleine Abstellkammern stecken wollen. Kein Klimaanlage, kein Balkon, kein warmes Wasser und der Gestank war unbeschreiblich. Wir haben uns dann eine neue Unterkunft organisiert. Es hat drei Tage gedauert bis die Unterkunft es geschafft hat den Aufenthalt zu stornieren. Ich frage mich tatsächlich ob es die gebuchten Zimmer überhaupt in der Unterkunft gibt.

The place is modern which is nice, close to the beach.

The facilities are quite basic, and the water pressure in the shower is extremely low; it takes several minutes just to rinse out shampoo. We also missed having a safe box in the room. While the staff was friendly, they were not as warm or accommodating as what the Philippines is typically known for. Additionally, there are roosters nearby that crow throughout the night, which makes it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Was very modern and nice. Clean and comfortable mattress, but very close to the street so quite loud with the scooters passing by all night.

Tutto il resto, tutti i disagi subiti, la gestione da parte del manager. Siamo rimasti più volte senza acqua né elettricità! Le stanze puzzano di muffa! Posto orribile

De locatie is goed, de luxe bungalows zijn mooi, de kamers zijn groot, fijne ruimte. Mooie houten materialen.

Personeel is onvriendelijk, heb dit nergens meegemaakt in de Filipijnen. Niet vriendelijk, niet behulpzaam, ongeïnteresseerd, als je wat vraagt krijg je eigenlijk geen antwoord. Communicatie met personeel ging erg moeizaam. Laatste twee dagen geen water uit de douche gehad. Sowieso is de waterdruk zo laag dat er 5 straaltjes water uit de douchekop komt (niet overdreven). We zaten er 4 dagen/4 nachten, en er is geen één keer schoonmaakservice geweest (vind ik vies, omdat je je toiletpapier niet mag doorspoelen). Geen schone handdoeken, geen toiletpapier.

The location is really lovely convenient and not overly busy with tourists. The gardens is really nice and our room had both a fan and AC

I wish we had an extra bedsheet as we felt cold at night with just a very light blanket. The water pressure was quite poor, and lots of noise from nearby animals all day and night so bring ear plug. The staff were kind but did not seem very friendly/happy. Towels and toilet paper only changed upon request/asking staff over the 4 nights we were there and there was no cleaning of room/bathroom bins which we would have preferred. Also the bathroom door handles are weird.

En bookant une double room, on s’est retrouvés avec une chambre avec deux lits simples. J’avais mal regardé mais en allant vite le titre est trompeur.

Dusche funktionniert nicht gut (mit langen Haaren braucht man eine Weile) sowie der Toilettensitz war bereits kaputt und rutsche immer weg. Es wird nie gereinigt oder mal die Handtücher ausgetauscht (wir waren 5 Nächte dort) und WC Papier Rolle hatten wir nur eine und keine Reserve, muss man nachfragen. Wenn man Hahn Geräusche nicht mag, würde ich die Unterkunft nicht empfehlen - nebenan ist eine Art Hühnerfarm mit Hahn (für uns war es okay).

We had the larger rooms in the back, so away from the street. It was therefore more quiet.

Really convenient location in San Juan - close to snorkeling area, cliff diving and beaches. Well-sized and comfortable room with a little balcony area. Beds are comfortable and the aircon is a huge help! Staff are friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights and it would have been great if the room could have been checked and just restocked with toilet paper. But otherwise happy with our stay:)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wir hatten einen richtig tollen Aufenthalt im AA Jungle Guesthouse Deluxe. Die Lage ist super zentral – viele Restaurants, Shops und Tauchschulen sind fußläufig erreichbar. Direkt gegenüber kann man außerdem ganz unkompliziert und zu normalen Preisen einen Scooter mieten, was den Aufenthalt extrem praktisch macht. Was diese Unterkunft aber wirklich besonders macht, ist das Personal. Sie haben uns nicht nur bei der Organisation von Transporten geholfen, sondern sind weit darüber hinausgegangen: Ich hatte etwas in der Unterkunft vergessen, und das Team hat völlig selbstverständlich organisiert, dass es mir zur nächsten Destination nachgeschickt wurde – und das kostenlos. Das ist absolut nicht selbstverständlich und zeigt, wie herzlich und engagiert hier gearbeitet wird. Genau diese Menschlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft machen das AA Jungle Guesthouse Deluxe für mich zu etwas Besonderem. Klare Empfehlung – ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen 😊

Pas aimé grand chose... chambre minuscule,fenêtre qui donne sur un mur,pas de lumière naturelle,odeur humidité et pas d' eau chaude

Tarif exagéré pour 9 mètres carré. Impression que les murs ont été monté autour du lit. Pas de terrasse,aucun espace extérieur... Franchement rarement vu une chambre aussi petite .Pas difficile de trouver mieux... Heureusement ce n' était qu une nuit mais vraiment tarif abusé

Chambres minuscules, les non climatisées sont un enfer de chaleur, le ventilo n'y change pas grand chose...et celle qui m'a été attribuée donnait sur l'arrière du restaurant donc pas mal de bruits et d'odeurs de bouffe.

Das Personal ist nett. An sich wären die Bungalows auch schön, aber es ist sehr feucht man riecht es und es schimmelt im Bad teilweise, wenn die Klimaanlage läuft ist es okay und wurde mit der Zeit besser.

Es war schnell schmutzig. Es gibt Ameisen im Zimmer auch wenn man kein Essen oder ähnliches im Zimmer hat. Sie sollten proaktiv den Müll leeren und frische Handtücher sowie Klopapier öfter bereitstellen.

כלום, חדר מלא בנמלים שירותים לא תקינים מקלחת עם מים פשרים מינוס. הגעתי בליילה מהמעבורת והודעתי מראש אף אחד לא תרח לחכות לי ונשארתי בחוץ כל הליילה. אכלתי ארוחת בוקר במסעדה שכללה אומלט מסתבר שהיה ממולא במלפפון פיטריות ועגבניות הכל מבושל והזוי עם צנים שום מתוק. לא ממליץ להגיע!

L’emplacement idéal, la propreté et le confort du lit. Plutôt calme, ce qui est rare aux Philippines.

J'ai vraiment adoré l'ensemble de mon séjour, suite a une erreur lors d'une précédente réservation, j'ai demandé de l'aide à un membre du personnel, adorable!! Lorsqu'elle m'a dis qu'il restait des chambre de disponible et que j'ai vu celle magnifique cours pour y accéder, le choix pourra nuit c'est vite fait, le confort de la chambre m'a fait prolonger mon séjour! Je remercie le personnel pour leur sourire, bienveillance et gentillesse !!

The room was very nice and comfortable, the staff are very friendly. The place has a restaurant, and it's an excellent location. Beautiful garden.

The location was great! Next to a lot of nice restaurants, bars and Palaton beach. We rented the Fazzio motorcycle for 2 days, for 450 peso per day including helmets. Which was not expensive at all.

The time to sleep was limited. We had the guesthouse next to the restaurant. In the evening members of the staff would hang out next to our window until 00:00. The chicken from the neighbors were screaming the whole night, starting from 3 AM. The electricity was cut off twice and the generator which was standing next to the building was making a ear deaffening sound. The room was ok, but small. The AC was not able to cool down the room properly and the shower was not more then a mist. Oh, and I ordered a hamburger which was just not edible. The Mc Donalds had better quality burgers.

Tant l’atenció dels treballadors com la neteja han estat fabulosos. Vaig patir molt mal de queixal durant dos dies i em van estar cuidant i portant-me gel per a la inflamació. Es menja molt bé al seu restaurant. Una cuina exelent!

The staff is very polite and helpful. The place provided everything you may need and is quite near to the plaza and other important shops. The food in the lobby is good too and other options around the area and on the same level! They also have a good parking area if you have a car. Just ask the staff where.

The only issue is the internet. It would disconnect or be quite slow sometimes.

Das Personal hat sich um alles gekümmert. Wir hatten ein Leck in der Dusche, welches behoben wurde und auch ein Mietroller für den nächsten Tah wurde schnell organisiert. Das Essen im Restaurant war wirklich gut.

Das Badezimmer war wegen einem Leck in der Dusche leider unter Wasser, wir hatten zuerst keine Handtücher, es fiel jede Nacht der Strom aus und es ist recht laut.

Another villa type accommodation, it’s not that bad tbh, not just need a bit cleaning.

I don’t like the toilet, somehow I think the bowl has leak, and stinks a bit.

It was clean and quiet and they have a lot of hanger for clothes and their hot and cold is really working well, the bed is soft and linens is clean.

I have a lot of concerns though. 1. They were renovating the way to the area is quite dark (alternative entrance) 2. No generator I think? Brown out started at 10pm the 2nd night the staff I think was not able to insert the fan charge properly and the entire time till 4 am no fan it was too hot to sleep. 3. I cant find any staff at all. Plus they don't allow food inside the room which I find okay to prevent ants but THERE IS NO GARBAGE CAN OUTSIDE so if you eat outside still you have to throw where?!?

Lovely interior design of the room, nice to have a porch area looking out on jungle greenery, the name is perfect for the location! Complimentary chilled mineral water on request. Spacious room with good bathroom facilities and Aircon. Quick and easy check in. Friendly staff who helped us book transport to our ferry very quickly! Would definitely recommend this!

There was renovation/building work going on so it appeared the restaurant/bar area was out of action which we were unaware of. We couldn't hear any noise that affected our stay though. The shower was in another language so we weren't sure how to get the heating to work consistently, it would be great to have a small list of instructions on how to work the shower for future.

Room was mostly clean and modern. Had good aircon and backup fan as well as balcony and line to hang wet things

There was a toe nail next to the sink. There was no hand soap. They were doing building the whole time we were there so there was no restaurant/bar/water/laundry facilities (we were not made aware of this, if we had known in advance it would be okay). Staff let us in our room then we barely saw them again they were not there to speak too. Builders were sleeping in hammocks at entrance to accommodation. Noisy from 7am in the morning which was ok as we were up anyway but just be aware.

We had a great stay for 4 nights at Jungle Guesthouse. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are modern and the location is great for all amenities and popular restaurants on the island. From the port it is 350 pesos for a tricycle and the hotel can help arrange transport back at the end of your stay. You can hire a bike for 450 pesos per day across the road next door to Marco Polo which is always great.

Only issue we had was that we put the “make up room” sign on daily but unfortunately our room wasn’t cleaned.

WiFi was slow and inconsistent

No communication from staff other than giving us the key and a WhatsApp on two morning reminding us of check out time. Power cuts everyday which is out of their control however no communication about this. Next door’s generator was very very loud if you were in our room next to the restaurant. Also, the roosters are incredibly loud, bring ear plugs. Due to this the room was unbelievably hot. The location is fine, a few good restaurants around, get a scooter to get around.

Great location

A good budget place to stay in San Jose. Rooms are clean and have all you need at this price point. It is a good choice for a couple of nights if you want to stay "in town"

We liked the place, nice, clean rooms with the terrace, interesting details, close to bars, etc. we have rented reliable scooters in the hotel for s very affordable price. Staff not perfect in Englih, but very friendly.

It’s not about the stay, but there is a Korean restaurant within the horel. We’ve heard it’s great, but unfortunately it opens too late and closes early, so we were sorry that we couldn’t tried it.

No other facilities pool ect can't eat in the room and at 530am a generator or something from the kitchen right outside our room was extremely noisy and coukd sleep The chickens in cage outside had no water and looked very weak Also our air-conditioning only worked one side so wasn't as cool as it could have been Oh and the shower is a mist may as well not bother

Good location in San Juan near some restaurants and supermarkets. The room was lovely and felt very new. The rooms are set back from the main road in a lovely garden, so you don't hear the traffic, but being the Philippines there are cockerels and dogs :) Each room has a small terrace so you can sit outside. Staff were great, they helped us to hire motorbikes from the place directly opposite and advised what we should be paying for tricycles when going to the beach/port. San Juan is quite spread out along the main road. A lot of the restaurants are nearer to Paliton beach, but easy to get a tricycle. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location. Nice rooms, clean and friendly owners! Overall I really enjoyed my stay there.

Be aware that during the night it might be loud due to all the dogs and roosters around (however that is an issue all around the island).
