Namara Green Ella

We had a really lovely stay at Namara Green Ella. The hotel is surrounded by greenery, and the views across the mountains and paddy fields are just beautiful, especially in the morning. Our room was modern, spacious, and spotless. Bed was comfy, everything we needed. The rooftop restaurant was a highlight. We loved breakfast up there, just taking in the view. Honestly, being slightly outside the town worked in our favor. It was quiet, relaxing, and felt really close to nature, but Ella town was only about 3 minutes by tuk-tuk, so we could pop in whenever we wanted.Staff were warm and helpful throughout our stay. If you want somewhere peaceful with great views, but still close to Ella,Namara is your choice.

Struttura moderna e pulita immersa nella natura.

La struttura è bella e moderna, così come le camere (la nostra aveva una vista angolare sulla giungla). C’erano dei lavori di completamento della struttura ma danno fastidio in orari scomodi. La staff molto accogliente e molto disponibile. Camere e biancheria molto pulite (non affatto scontato).

Non è proprio centrale ma con 5 minuti di tuktuk (che chiamano loro a qualsiasi orario) si raggiunge il centro. Il fatto che sia fuori per noi è stato un plus per essere lontani dal caos

La habitación con un gran ventanal con vistas a la montaña es preciosa y súper amplia. Es un hotel pequeño con una atención personalizada excelente. El desayuno muy bueno con dulces típicos.

We had a lovely stay at Namara green, the rooms were clean and spacious and staff were friendly and helpful. It is also so conveniently located to get to Ella town centre. Whilst I agree with other reviews that it was not the quietest of spaces, it was really nothing that kept us at night or disturbed our sleep - it's not the hotel's fault if dogs are barking outside! Overall it was a comfortable stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Preisleistungsverhältnis war nicht ganz so gut. Man zahlt eher viel für ein Durchschnittszimmer, dafür ein sehr luxuriöses und sauberes Bad!

Neues Hotel mit Blick in die Natur. Die Zimmer sind minimalistisch aber geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Bad ist relativ groß und bietet ebenfalls einen Blick ins Grüne. Die Unterkunft ist ein kleines Stück von Ella entfernt, mit dem TukTuk oder einem anderen Gefährt ist man jedoch in 5 Minuten im Zentrum. Die Inhaber waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Prinzipiell ist es ein schönes neues Hotel, das man durchaus weiterempfehlen kann. Unsere Hauptkritik ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Bei der Buchung über Booking wurde uns ein Endpreis angezeigt, der nicht mit dem tatsächlichen abgerechneten Betrag übereinstimmt. Seitens der Unterkunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das Steuern und Gebühren sind. Das mag auch seine Richtigkeit haben. Wäre uns allerdings der finale Betrag bei der Buchung angezeigt worden, hätten wir die Unterkunft nicht gebucht. Das Hotel ist schön, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist nicht stimmig. Der Preis pro Nacht lag bei über 110 USD (ohne Frühstück). Das war während unserer mehrwöchigen Sri Lanka Rundreise die teuerste Unterkunft. Auf dieser Grundlage gibt es dann doch verschiedene Kritikpunkte, die den hohen Preis nicht rechtfertigen. Die Zimmer sind wie bereits beschrieben minimalistisch eingerichtet. Es gibt keinen Schrank, keinen Kühlschrank und auch sonst keine Einrichtungsgegenstände bis auf 2 Stühle. Auch am Balkon stehen lediglich 2 klapprige Plastikstühle, die für erwachsene Personen nicht geeignet sind. Allgemein entsteht an vielen Stellen der Eindruck, dass das Hotel noch nicht ganz fertig ist - so auch am Balkon. Es ist ein funktionales Zimmer, dass wir bei der Hälfte des Preises durchaus als sehr gut betiteln würden. Bei mehr als 110 USD pro Nacht, ist für uns die angebotene Ausstattung und Leistung allerdings nicht ausreichend. Außerdem ist das Hotel sehr hellhörig, weshalb wir die halbe Nacht Geräusche und Gespräche von andern Gästen vernommen haben. Zusätzlich gab es einen Stromausfall, weshalb wir mehrere Stunden keinen Strom hatten. Dies ist sicher nicht die Schuld des Hotels, trägt aber zum Gesamteindruck bei.

I loved the views, it felt like I was submerged in the middle of a forest away from the busy town.

Schone kamer met een fijne badkamer. Het oogt allemaal heel mooi en schoon.

De locatie is iets verder van het stadje, met de tuktuk ben je er zo, maar we misten wel dat we even zo erheen konden lopen. Hiervoor krijg je dan natuurlijk wel weer meer rust!

Think I underestimated other reviews which said walls were very thin! This was compounded by the fact that there were building works going on. Room and building has potential but is very sparse, clear that they are still in the process of setting up

The location of this property is truly unbeatable, giving you a glimps of the tropical forest straight from your bed - and even while you shower! We got a lovely, modern, super-accessorized and nicely furnished room, and loved every minute of our stay. The Sri Lankan breakfast from the top floor is simply unbeatable - and all people of the staff very incredibly nice and caring. Highly recommended.

Simple, minimalist accommodation which was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and the team were friendly. Would stay again if we were in the area.

Located just outside of Ella but that didn’t cause any issues. Tuk tuks are always available to get around.

The views and layout are perfect if you want to wake up in nature. The top room was so beautiful, waking up to the sounds of the birds and squirrels overlooking a tree top

We love a pool which the property dosent have but everything else we couldnt fault. You could walk into Ella town but was still a 30 min walk

An absolutely beautiful hotel, extremely peaceful in the morning and day time. Lovely staff and extremely clean. We could not fault the actual hotel it really is beautiful.

The other reviews about noise aren’t wrong. We are good sleepers so ignored the other reviews and we were up till 3am trying to sleep. The insects outside are LOUD and sound like car alarms. The loud air conditioning does help drone this out and slightly less annoying. If there other people in the hotel coming in late you will hear them.

It’s in the nature, so you can relax on the balcony. It was super clean, although we were unfortunate to find some bugs inside, which I believe is unavoidable when it’s in the jungle. In general it was at top level compared to other properties we saw around. The staff were super helpful, especially Tony. The bathroom was really nice and the bed comfortable. Overall, we enjoyed a luxury stay for 3 days.

A little remote to Ella, so you will need to take a tuk Tuk a few times(ranging 400 to 700 LKR). It’s walking distance but uphill and then downhill. The breakfast policy is not clear and comms in English were hard sometimes. We found the pillows to be very tall for our taste, could do with some smaller ones. Unfortunately we could also hear the echo sounds that others mentioned, but it was not a big problem to sleep, even for me as a sensitive sleeper. I would have liked to know when and if there is a room cleaning service, or have the choice of declining it with a Knob label. We returned early on one day to find them in the middle of cleaning of our room, but in general we are not comfortable with room cleaning when we stay in a room, so that we can leave our valuables without worrying. Parking is limited, on the street.

Big empty room with hardly amenities…. Not worth for the money they charge. No WiFi and mobile data signals are pretty weak at night. Though parking is mentioned you have to park by the road. If the owners car is parked there staff will ask you to park under a tree.

Le personnel a été adorable !! Un peu hors du centre d’Ella, au calme.

Nous avions réservé une chambre pour 3 , mais il n’y avait qu’un lit pour 2, heureusement le gardien de l’hôtel a trouvé un sofa pour y mettre la 3 eme personne , alors que le patron de l’hôtel n’a pas essayé de trouver une solution au problème.

Unfinished building and incomplete rooms (eg no fridge, safe, tv), shower was blocked & took ages to drain, room didn’t get serviced over the 3 nights. Expensive given that the premises are clearly unfinished. Staff were great but you needed to ask them for amenities (eg towels, water)

Zimmer Sehr toll eingerichtet. Das Hotel ist neu und dementsprechend alles sehr schön. Jedoch war die Sauberkeit in der Lobby und Treppenhaus nicht zu sehen. Hier wurde nicht auf Ordnung geachtet. Lediglich nur auf den Zimmern. Das Personal war nett, jedoch auch kein gutes Englisch. Die Dusche und Toilette war wirklich toll, die beste die wir hatten in Sri Lanka.

Direkt an der Hauptstraße, Sau laut, wir konnten wirklich kaum schlafen. Wirklich schade um das Hotel, aber die Lage ist wirklich eine Katastrophe.

Very clean and very friendly staff

For the price it lacks a lot of the luxury’s you’d expect for the price tag. We had no fridge in our room, no tv, and no rooms cleaning or towels replaced during our stay. We ended up leaving a day early

Fantastic view, staff always friendly and welcoming

Location means you need a tuk tuk or driver to go out sightseeing or for dinner. Rooms are new but the finishing touches are all little rushed and need some finesse.

Die Unterkunft war sehr modern und sauber. Unser Zimmer war sehr hell und hatte große Fensterfronten. Wir hatten dadurch einen fantastischen Blick in die Natur. Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht hier, hätten aber gerne verlängert. Der Besitzer und das gesamte Personal war super nett und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten kein Frühstück dazu gebucht, konnten nachträglich aber trotzdem spontan hier essen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und man hat von der Dachterrasse einen schönen Ausblick ins Grüne.

Property not actually finished so a few health and safety concerns mainly that the stairs didn’t have a bannister so could fall. Building now 5 floors high. Don’t stay here if have young children. Very limited parking if have your own transport.

We hadden een supermooie en schone nieuwe kamer. Het bed was erg comfortabel en het heeft een prachtig uitzicht op het groene Ella. De eigenaar is erg behulpzaam. Wij hadden zelf een driver maar er werden voor andere gasten tuktuks geregeld om naar het centrum te rijden. Het centrum van ella is ongeveer 4 minuten rijden, dus helemaal niet ver!

De wifi werkte niet altijd even goed en wij hadden last van luidruchtige buren, maar verder hebben wij geen geluidsoverlast gehad.

Tony Mohammed and Athula were very nice and helped us out alot! Thankyou for that. Te room was very comfortable and clean. We also had and nice view on the beautiful greenery!

This was one of our favourite hotels in Sri Lanka! It’s very modern and clean, the facilities were very well maintained, and the views were amazing from our room. The balcony was also a highlight. We didn’t have breakfast here but the roof terrace seemed lovely so would recommend for the sunshine! It’s a little out of town which we liked for the peacefulness but worth noting if you want to be walking distance (we had a driver so it was fine but can’t comment on how easy it is to get one-off transport).

Sound travelled quite easily but it wasn’t much of an issue as the hotel was quite quiet during our stay.

We had a lovely time staying at Namara Green Ella. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Views are lovely and the staff very kind. It's quiet and still It's a 5 min tuk tuk ride from the center. the hotel always arranged a ride for us at a fair price.

This was an exceptionally clean hotel and exactly what one would expect from this type of property. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We chose to dine outside the hotel, as it is located very close to Ella town, allowing us to fully enjoy the surrounding area.

Nothing stood out as disappointing. A minibar or an in-room safe could further enhance the stay.

This a heaven on place on Ella, a super great place to rest and to enjoy in the mountains of Ella, you are really nearby the main city and after skme great hikes and great exploration. This is the best place to relax. The people who work here will always help you with everything. Everything is clean and really beautiful! Surely will return
