The property was exactly as advertised and so delivered what we expected. It was conveniently located within a few miles of Rosslare Harbour
More pillows please
The place was very clean
Bezaubernd und ungewöhnlich. Ein wunderbares Nest für ein Pärchen. Nur ein paar Schritte bis zur Sacred Well und in die Natur.
Es war alles sehr gut!
St Awaries was such a fantastic place to stay! The hosts were incredibly welcoming, the accommodation exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it.
Clean and compact
Nothing
Situated in a beautiful village nice and roomy clean & tidy
The feeling I was detached
The host had a booklet of places to eat. They had a deck of cards that we enjoyed playing. There was tea bags, coffee, sugar, honey and fresh carton of milk ready to go
Felt far away from the world.
Got a bit stuffy up the top in bed
Quirky, compact, very clean, everything we needed. Clean bathroom , hot shower. Nice touches- tea, ground coffee , milk and cereal, High vis vests! Also, welcome drink. great location for walking, cycling, beach, our Lady’s Island. Lovely friendly hosts.
Ladder stairs to mezzanine bedroom were tricky. Motion sensor light on stairs ( or torch! ) might be helpful at night.
Nothing
Poor access to bed via a wooden ladder upto a mezzanine floor. Apparently I should have studied the 54 photos to realise
Such a gorgeous little spot! Very quiet and peaceful. Easy to walk around on the roads as there are footpaths.
The loft stairs are very steep and slippy so if you're unable to climb a ladder, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's not a negative for this place, it's just an awareness.
This novel detached studio unit, close to the owners cottage, was clean, compact and offered everything for an enjoyable stay (TV, Wifi, kettle and fridge, even a small outside table and chairs overlooking a tidy garden).
Nothing for able bodied visitors, but the mezzanine sleeping area was tight in headroom and space; and accessed via a wooden step ladder
Convenient for ferry and well equipped
We are retired and coped with bedroom configuration but it might deter some
Friendly staff
Bed room to small no space to stand up
Location was perfect, 5mins walk from the lakes and short walk to the beach. Little house was so adorable and the grounds around it where stunning. Perfect location and property for our 2 night stay. Easy to access and find, keys in a lock box and host easily contactable when we needed her. Will definitely be back this summer.
Nothing
Design. Clean, comfortable bed
Even in a hotel hours for your checkin-check out are more convenient, so prolly it’s better to book a hotel next time. In fairness to Awaries it was clear from the beginning: late check-in (4pm) and early check out (11am)
The location is great, it's a lovely part of the South East. It's very close to beaches, nature walks and historical places. The studio itself is very cosy and compact, just be aware of the tight stairs to the upper floor. Apart from that, the studio was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. Would definitely recommend for a longer visit.
Lovely peaceful location with a comfortable living space. Had a lovely weekend away with my partner.
Great location near the sea.
Great hideaway close to Rosslare ferry port, but in a beautiful rural location.
The mezzanine bed might not suit everyone, but I loved it!
It was a wonderful accommodation in a peaceful place near the beach and walks. The bed was especially comfortable The nearby Lobster Pot restaurant was excellent
Nothing
We chose St Awaries because we wanted a quiet and beautiful location which was self catering and well priced. This was perfect. Close to a pilgrim site with a lovely walk and amazing bird migrant flocks, it was just the thing for a relaxing break. We were able to go to church daily also. The hosts were amazing; strong communicators and attended to all requests speedily and even dropped us to the Rosslare Europort at checkout
This is a quirky space so if you don’t like a steep stairwell or ladder to your bed it is not for you. They are very clear that there is no hotplate or stove which we knew so we cooked in the microwave. Otherwise it is comfortable and well situated near a restaurant, pub and shop.
It was very quaint & had everything
great location and was perfectly suited to where we needed to be during the weekend
basically the bed!!! we are probably too old for a ladder and having to crawl around the space on the bed level. but that is our problem, as we did see the photos , just it was a bit more awkward than expected!! Also was not cleaned when we arrived, I would have expected it have been changed over more than 30 minutes before check in!!
close to the beach, a beautiful lake, and a very nice lobster restaurant.
low hanging ceilings above the bed. however, the layout is very much to the size of the building. perfect for visiting a location and sleeping, rather than spending time in the accommodation.
The studio was SO cosy and it was spotless. Would have loved to stay more than one night. Beautiful place and the owner was absolutely lovely
Convenience to rosslare port Quirky design maximising the compact space
Slightly more room above bed for tall person Bit worried about safety of rope ‘mesh’ covering the high gap next to bed - not fixed securely
The hosts had thought of everything and I mean EVERYTHING. We were expecting basic accommodation - just somewhere we could rest our head for the night) but it actually had everything you could possibly want for an overnight (and longer stay). There was also a lot more room than we expected. I thought that I might personally have problem accessing the mezzanine level for the bed as I am a 6ft 2, 150kg man in his 60s with a bad back but it was actually relatively easy. If I can manage it I can't imagine many people having trouble Also really clear instructions (and nice to have a proper folder rather than just an online link). Easy to recycle our rubbish with clearly marked bins. Lovely touch to have some coffee, teabags and a carton of fresh milk in the fridge for us when arrived. Even a couple of sachets of porridge for breakfast.
Really nothing but if I had to be picky, a plug for the bathroom sink would be nice as there is no electric shaving point and so had to wet-shave and would have preferred to fill the sink rather than waste water with a running tap. Maybe a slightly wider staircase (but I managed it anyway so I really am having to stretch to pick holes here). It was superb and we will try to book again next time we are over in Ireland.
