Schon beim Ankommen wird man herzlich von den Mitarbeitern begrüßt – sofort fühlt man sich willkommen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und charmant-authentisch eingerichtet. Von der Terrasse aus eröffnet sich eine traumhafte Aussicht, die beim Sonnenuntergang einfach magisch wirkt. Das Team ist unglaublich aufmerksam und hilfsbereit – hier wird Gastfreundschaft wirklich gelebt. Absolute 100% Weiterempfehlung!

Esperienza molto deludente. Avevamo prenotato con la possibilità di modificare il soggiorno, ma quando abbiamo cercato di dividere le quattro notti in due soggiorni separati, non è stato possibile comunicare con la struttura: abbiamo ricevuto una risposta solo dopo diversi giorni. All’arrivo l’accoglienza è stata molto fredda e poco disponibile. La camera King era grande, ma completamente priva di finestre, sia in camera sia in bagno, e presentava un forte odore sgradevole. Le lenzuola non sembravano particolarmente fresche. Inoltre, la camera era collegata tramite una porta molto leggera a un salotto comune dove dormivano altre persone, con molto rumore, risate e urla. Un altro aspetto negativo è la differenza tra le foto e la realtà: le immagini della camera King mostrano una terrazza, ma la camera assegnata non aveva né terrazza né finestre. Abbiamo deciso di andarcene subito, ma nessuno della struttura ci ha contattati per chiedere cosa fosse successo o se ci fosse qualche problema. Nel complesso, abbiamo trovato poca disponibilità, scarsa attenzione agli ospiti e una situazione molto diversa da quella che ci aspettavamo in base alle foto.

Staff accogliente, molto familiare. La struttura è vicina al porto, il che ci è stato utile per prendere il traghetto la mattina seguente, solo 4 minuti di macchina. Anche per uscire la sera è stata comoda. Utili le prese accanto al letto e la doccia ha funzionato bene anche calda. Gli asciugamani e il letto erano puliti.

Salire sulla struttura non è il massimo, ci sono scale ripide e strette, non consigliato se si hanno valigie pesanti o trolley. Noi con lo zaino ce l'abbiamo fatta senza problemi. C'era una blatta gigante ad accoglierci appena entrati in stanza. Non credo sia colpa loro, stanno davanti al fiume, è normale. Purtroppo però la stanza, nonostante non avesse neanche una finestra, era piena di zanzare, e nessuna zanzariera sul letto.

Ogni volta che arriviamo in Padang è un piacere andare in Evergreen, la vista sulla città è stupenda e tutto è molto accogliente. In Evergreen lodge ti senti a casa!

Il personale è molto disponibile, la posizione è comoda per spostarsi anche nella zona di Chinatown o del pub vicino. La struttura è accogliente e offre anche la possibilità di massaggi o noleggio scooter. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Per quanto riguarda il bagno condiviso consiglierei una maggiore pulizia essendoci solo due bagni in totale per le camere con bagno condiviso.

It’s close to the ferry to get to the Mentawais and it had AC

Absolutely disgusting. I spent the whole night scratching myself. The room was tiny, full of mosquitoes, and they didn’t even provide a duvet cover—just a bare duvet, which felt very unhygienic. The walls were so thin that we could hear everyone else in the building, a dog barking at 4 a.m., and prayers playing throughout the night, making it impossible to get any sleep. This is the perfect place to get bitten, lose sleep, and have a miserable stay. I would definitely not recommend it.

Znakomita lokalizacja. Widok na rzekę i starą dzielnicę. Trzeba trochę wspiąć się do obiektu. Jest wiszący most przez rzekę. Dużo przestrzeni w obiekcie. Pokój wygodny. Woda z dystrybutora jest. Łazienka w porządku chociaż wspólna.

It’s really close to the port and only 40 mins from the airport. Easy access to a speakeasy, Bat and Arrow, a yummy kopitiam joint (Hoke Kee Tiam), and several local restaurants which attract many crowds in the morning, if you’re into local cuisine. All facilities functioned well although there was a voltage drop during my stay. However, it was fixed in no time. A great view on the upper floor, you can enjoy the sunset

I’m totally cool with this, but just be ready with a short incline that leads to the hostel.

The room was clean and comfy. The staff were also really kind and helpful- they did our laundry last minute as well for a very good price

I rarely give a "10" but this guesthouse has earned it. Great, cozy, small rooms (some without window), nice staff, great terrace with view on river, good internet and close to the bridge over the river with many trendy cafes, bars (Brat and Arrow) and the cool surf shop/cafe. Really loved to stay here

Must walk up a steep path to guesthouse, but that should be part of the fun. Pick-up by car only possible downstairs at the road along the river.

Locatie is top, uitzicht is prachtig zeker met zonsondergang. Er is gefilterd water beschikbaar en het personeel is vriendelijk.

The hostel was good esp in relation to the price. The staff were awesome and very accommodating. The location in the old town was great and it was within walking distance to the port for the fast ferry.

The walk up the hill was quite steep, but the view up there was great!

At the price I paid, this was unbeatable. My room was nice and tidy with very crisp and clean bed sheets. There's several nice shared spaces to hang out in, that give themselves naturally to engage with the other people who are staying there. The location is absolutely perfect, there's a 30 second walk down to the river, and across the river there's a nice bar, and several fancy coffee shops in the streets beyond that. The view from the deck is also spectacular. Probably the best view in Penang.

A bit more attention to cleanliness of the shared bathroom would have been welcome, just basics like a fresh clean daily and replenishing the toilet paper. It's possible it's because I was there out of season, but the staff was notably absent and the fridge with drinks for sale was empty, no breakfast, etc. It was not a problem for me, except it would be nice to be able to buy a bottle of cold water.

Staff, Adi/ Eddy is very nice and helped us with money exchange, boat tickets for the slow ferry (because the fast ferry was not going) and other things! The room is big, clean and aircon works well. There is a water (hot and cold) refill station

We arrived late in the evening and the road/ way leading towards the guests house is very steep up..... nothing bad. But I am supriced none of the other guests mentioned this. The room is big and then then shower is a bit small..... but good pressure and clean. + Big towels! Due to Rammadan and low season a lot of eateries were closed and also the guesthouse didnt serve food. Still we found some places nearby for food.

we had a warm welcome and all the interactions from the staff to phillip the owner were great and made us feel at home. warm, helpful and informative. i know where i'll stay when i return to padang.

we arrived in the monsoon with heavy rain so the walk up the hill was little precarious. we arrived without notice otherwise they would have brought umbrellas and helped us with our baggage. they provided umbrellas so we were sorted when we went out for dinner and they helped carry our bags down when we left.

The property is well located and not too far by walking from the busy areas. The staff is very nice and will try to help you organize some activities when possible.

The days we went there were a bit messy due to a big booking from a group of 20 people. Otherwise it is a nice place.

This homestay has a fun holiday vibe, in the hills above Padang Old Town. But what makes it an amazing place to stay is the staff -- so positive and helpful and informative. The menu is an interesting mix of European and Indonesian: I loved the muesli and fruit for breakfast, and I honestly had the best vegetarian curry of my life.

Wir hatten unerwartet einen der tollsten Aufenthalte hier in unserem Urlaub. Unglaublich nettes Team, super hilfsbereit, tolles Haus mit mehreren Gemeinschaftsräumen, einer mega Dachterrasse und schönen, sauberen Zimmern. Wir haben es so genossen, dass wir aus einer Nacht gleich mehrere machten :)

The staff is great and the common areas are fantastic. The views over Padang from the balconies can’t be beat. We also appreciated the free coffee in the morning. They also serve food - the pumpkin curry was amazing! The WiFi is super strong which was a first during our travels in Indonesia. Overall, we’d stay here again.

Our sheets smelled a bit sour and there was a fair amount hair on the floor of our room when we checked in. Also - not a complaint but just fyi - the hostel is located up a very steep hill. If you have any mobility issues, this isn’t the hostel for you.

Ook hier zijn we weer vriendelijk ontvangen. We kregen een kamer upgrade, helaas had deze geen ramen maar wel airco, terwijl we alleen betaalden voor een ventilatorkamer. Het balkon met uitzicht is superfijn. De faciliteiten zijn eenvoudig. Het ontbijt was eenvoudig maar prima. Wat heel fijn is: je kan dingen pakken uit de ijskast en noteren op een lijst. Gratis koffie en thee is ook fijn.

Het ligt een beetje uit de route. Je moet even klimmen om de accommodatie te bereiken maar dat vonden we uiteindelijk niet zo erg. De kamers hebben geen badkamer en je moet dus af en toe wachten op douche of wc. Verder regelden we een taxi naar Bukittinggi maar die kwam erg laat en bleek een gedeelde taxi (was ook goedkoper dan privé taxis). Dus je moet daar heldere afspraken over maken als het nodig is.

This hostel feels like a home away from home. Good location and amazing views. Very friendly staff and comfy beds.

The shower pressure could be better and my bedsheets didn’t smell very nice.

Het personeel was uitermate vriendelijk, denken met je mee, brengen je overal naar toe. Deze hostel is erg toegankelijk voor contacten met de andere gasten, jong en oud. We konden ons kostelijk vermaken met elkaar. Dikke prima voor Ade, Irma, maar ook Tiara en Rahman en nog een jonger jochie die de was streek. Goede lokatie om allerlei activiteiten te ondernemen. Tip: ga 3, 4 of 5 dagen naar de Mentawai, ikzelf koos 3 dagen. Was ook meer dan genoeg. En nog een tip: Bat Arrow, een meeting/dancing waar op zaterdag altijd feest is. Is aan de overkant van de hostel, meteen over het bruggetje. Laatste tip: links aan de overkant heb je De Spaarbank, hier kan je goed eten en zit je zelfs buiten cool. Heeft een vijvertje met Koi, is wel wat duurder dan een warung, betaal je voor een goede maaltijd ca 5 euro, voor een cola 1 euro. En misschien nog belangrijker: op de 1e verdieping is een zwembad, kan je gewoon vrij zwemmen. Vanuit de hostel kan je het zwembad van De Spaarbank zien. Wit gebouw recht voor je (iets links).

De trap naar de hostel was voor mij soms moeizaam, maar zal voor jongeren geen probleem zijn.

Je me suis sentie super bien dans cet hôtel grâce à Irma et à son frère. Elle a même réservé le ferry pour moi… elle a été vraiment adorable. Les chambres sont bien, c’est confortable je recommande vivement

Endroit très accueillant. Magnifique vue sur la rivière et la ville. Ade est un très bon cuisinier. L'équipe est toujours prête à rendre service et à donner des informations. Des tours sont aussi proposés. Merci à tous pour votre sourire et votre bonne humeur.

De mensen zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De locatie is top en heerlijk om een warme douche te hebben.

Die Angestellten waren super nett & sehr hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer ist sehr grosszügig & toll ausgestattet. Ausserdem ist die Aussicht vom Balkon traumhaft schön.

Das Wasser ist mehrmals ausgefallen, was etwas unangenehm war, wenn man verschwitzt nach Hause kommt und duschen wollte. Aber die Angestellten boten Trinkwassertanks als Alternativmöglichkeit zum Waschen an.

Super hilfsbereite und nette Mitarbeiter - ich bin gleich 2 Mal zurück gekommen (immer zwischen den Insel-Aufenthalten). Kleine süße Zimmer zum wohlfühlen, sehr bequeme Betten und auch das Frühstück sowie Abendessen war super lecker. Die Terrasse ist ein Traum zum chillen mit einem Bintang was man auf vertrauensbasis einfach aus dem Kühlschrank nehmen und später zahlen darf. Danke Danke Irma & Team für eure ganz besondere Gastfreundschaft 😘

One of the best homestays I’ve stayed at in my 4 months of traveling SE Asia. Very comfortable private room with great air conditioning. The staff are extremely helpful with any recommendations or help you may need.

We had an amazing time: Lovely and helpful staff, clean room, great view from the common area which are great to relax. It really ticks most of the boxes and even comes with a free gym aka the hill that you need to walk up to get there :D Laundry service and food available at extra cost too.

Absolutely loved this hostel. It wasn't busy at all as I was travelling in the low season, but it's very comfortable, with nice shower and Aircon, free coffee, well behaved and friendly local staff, and a very funny, generous and accomodating owner, Philip. I think the project and developmwnt of the place is excellent and I really enjoyed my time there.

Everything was perfect, honestly one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in in Asia. There are some steps to climb from the road, but the view from the terrace is worth it

Stayed here before and after a mentawai trip. THIS IS HE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN PADANG. Great location but the staff are what make this place. So friendly and hospital. We aye together in the evenings like a family and in the day the staff go out of their way to take you on trips to their local village or tourist spots. Highly recommend 🫶🙏

Everything. It's cozy, colourful, joyfu. They are all very helpful and kind, they can suggest or arrange tours and transportation. Thank you for having me, sharing dinners and advices. They have very cute rescued cats. Oh and tea and coffee if you want them anytime of the day. Perfect.

Haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Zimmer mit eigenem Bad ist sehr geräumig und sehr sauber. Personal ist immer sehr bemüht, das man alles hat was man braucht. Es war wie bei Freunden zu übernachten. Danke an Venus, Irma und alle anderen, deren Namen ich mir leider nicht gemerkt habe. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall irgendwann wieder.
