Blairpen House Country Inn

Location was great. Breakfast was very good, but could have had more hot items, ie bacon/sausage.

Everything good.

We were well located for all our activities. Just parked on arrival and walked everywhere after that which was exactly what we wanted.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

Location, balcony to sit out and read; Drinks were provided in fridge to enjoy free of charge; Brochures for activities. Very clean.

Basically same breakfast every day. Everything was good but not luxurious. Seemed expensive for size of room and furnishings. Parking was a challenge.

The location was great, and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Doreen and Tim were incredibly helpful, kind, and generous. One moment that really stood out was when it was raining and I was planning to walk to the nearby bus stop. Even though it was completely unexpected, they offered to drop me there. It was such a thoughtful gesture. They are lovely, friendly people, always happy to chat and share their knowledge about the surrounding area. Their warmth and hospitality really made my stay special.

Breakfast was delicious and a nice variety of choices. Property was close to theater, restaurants and shops. Friendly and efficient staff.

The charm. Upon entering one is met with a warmth of house with a history. The quiet. One senses a restful and cozy atmosphere yet the house has depth and keeps revealing more rooms as you walk in. The garden. It is not a typical garden! This has an open area with a fountain and umbrellas and tables but then there is a most extraordinary area which is lush with thick and exotic vegetation, beautiful birds and a sweet tea house. A little bug repellent and you are all set! Last but not least the people who greet and take care of you during your stay. They are warm and knowledgeable and make you feel as if you are family. Location was excellent if you are visiting the Shaw Festival. We had a balcony overlooking the garden and convenient parking was in the back.

Location. Free overnight EV charging. Coffee maker with all supplies in the room. Breakfast was very basic but sufficient. Well stocked refreshments fridge downstairs

The parking area in the back is very tight. If you come with a full-size vehicle, park on the street. The floors were creaky a bit, so ask for an upstairs room if available.

Comfortable, cozy room. There are two outside areas for sitting, one outside the rooms and another with a screened in gazebo outside the reading rooms. The included breakfast did not change but we were okay with that as we enjoyed what was offered every day. Very nice fresh baked croissants, blueberry turnovers, hams, cheese, cereal, brown bread, jam, peanut butter, fruit medley, yogurt, instant porridge, coffee, teas, hot milk, hot water. Wonderful staff there, Doreen who we mainly dealt with was great, very helpful and nice to visit with. They had local area info plus extra info for the Shaw Festival which we attended.

Great location...all theatres are walking distance. The room was small but thoughtfully appointed...bathroom items,phone chargers etc. There is a lovely courtyard outside the room

Breakfast and breakfast hours. Breakfast was being taken down half an hour before the posted end of the breakfast hour. Room not serviced on a daily basis. No shampoo in bath. No hand-held, adjustable shower head.

would have liked a selection of eggs other than made with bacon. I didn't appreciate that booking.com quoted a different price than what was charged. I thought trying to reach out to booking.com was impossible.

Location is perfect, just two blocks from the main street. Easily walkable to everything in the downtown area. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful breakfast. Very comfortable room.

Back parking area is a bit tight.

Everything. The rooms were clean each had a lovely balcony. The sheets were clean the room was spacious. Doreen was lovely and extremely helpful.

We were so pleasantly surprised. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. Appreciate the attention to detail in the guest rooms. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff were very kind. Will definitely come back again.

What a beautiful friendly place to stay! Manager Doreen was a ray of sunshine and owner Tim obviously loves the place, which has been in the family for many years. The breakfasts were delicious and the location was walking distance to everything. We could even have walked to some of the local wineries if it hadn't been snowing.

Bathroom was a little bit cramped with not much space to put things.

Beautiful, cosy, quaint house, walking distance to the main part of town. The photos don’t do it justice! I would definitely come back and stay again and the owner was very friendly and hospitable. 11 out of 10!

Like to have had hot food for breakfast

Proximity to shopping and restaurants, and atractions is few minutes walk. Staying in the hotel gives you little "victorian" feel. Spending time in the garden (just amazing) makes you feel that time doesn' t exist. Definitely place to create timeless photos. Personel is extremely friendly.

Nothing major to complain about. Music in the breakfast hall keep playing in a loop same clasical piece for two days. You may want to bring some lactose free milk with you.

Delightful stay here. Provided umbrellas when it was raining. Charming old-fashioned building with lovely patio out of large sliding doors in our room. Complimentary soft drinks were a plus.

Perfect location on quiet street but very relaxing. Lots of details in room like cookies and chocolate. Shower was nice and hot. Plenty of room for suit caseS, not just one. Coffee and frig. Plenty of ice and free soft drinks. Evev a screened in outdoor room cards or more wine enjoyment time. Just out side our door is a patio with flowers and pure relaxation.

I didn’t stay longer. Loved it all.

Wir hatten Zimmer Nr. 2, wenn unsere Nachbarn geduscht haben oder die Toilette benutzt haben, hat das sich in unserem Zimmer angehört als käme eine Sturzflut über uns, sehr, sehr laut.

Conveniently located near center of town. Modest but very adequate breakfast offered in a comfortable dining room with larges tables. Excellent wi-fi with 400 MBS speed. I have never experienced that kind of speed in a hotel or B& B.

Our room was on the second floor. We found the central air conditioning to be inadequate to cool the room to our liking. The chairs in our room with spindles on the back were very uncomfortable. The choice of TV channels was very limited. No CNN, FOX, MSNBC etc.

The breakfast was excellent with attention paid to freshness and different tastes. There were quiet corners for relaxing. We especially enjoyed the screened tea room in the evenings for enjoying a glass of local wine. The staff was joyfully wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. The inn is steps away from shops, theatres and shopping.

It's charm, location, beautiful patio, garden and summerhouse, and Doreen, the very friendly, welcoming and reeponsive manager.

The breakfast which did have some yummy items could have used more protein options.

Love the location. easy walking access to downtown, the shaw festival and a number of local wineries. superb location!

while the room was very comfortable, i found the bathroom to be small for 2 people to share. also found the towels a bit thin. would have preferred thicker towels. these were thinner than we usually experience in the NOTL B&Bs. also, while it was really nice to have breakfast included. I didn't particularly enjoy the selection available. both mornings, they ran out of egg muffins and croissants.

No house keeping, bed not made daily, towels not changed but I’m sure if I asked for clean towels my request would be honored.

Quiet and comfortable

The communications prior to our arrival. Very good breakfast options. Our room was very clean. Great quiet lounge space for reading. The Inn was very secure. Gardens are lovely. The owner gave us an interesting history of the Inn.

Next time we book, we'll ask for a main level room. We have mobility issues & the stairs were slightly difficult. Suggest new linen for the bed, particularly the comforter/duvet (thanks for the blanket).

The location was perfect for us. Doreen was amazing - very helpful answering any of our questions.

Price was a bit high

Everything about Blairpen house is cosy and comfortable.

You can hear the people upstairs pretty easily. But this is common in most bed-and-breakfasts so not really a complaint. Just an observation.

Staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, and the inn was really comfy.

It is not what i didnt like, i usually wake up early and i feel bad showeing early as I feel like the rooms beside us can hear the shower. No bad commeny, just feel bad.

Close to the Main Street ….

We have stayed at Blairpen several times now over the years, and our latest stay was the same high quality as in the past. The room was clean, and the decor charming. Water pressure was great in the bathroom, with plenty of towels and toiletries. Our hostess Doreen was friendly and helpful, as was our host Tim, whom we have met over the years and found to be always informative, warm and genial. The continental breakfast has plenty of options: cereal, a toaster is available, fresh bread, croissants, sliced cold meats and cheese, fresh yogurt, fresh and dried fruit. The coffee is always great. Our favourite part of the inn is the access to the cozy public rooms on the main floor, especially the lounge with the lovely sofas and the gas fireplace. The vibe is so relaxing and it is very nice to have smart TV service in all the rooms, including the lounge. We always enjoy our stay!

We have never had anything to complain about. Any issues that we identified have been very minor and have been resolved very quickly.
