The setting, comfort and cleanliness of the resort was excellent, clearly a lot of thought and detail had gone into the design and layout. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, loved being able to walk out of the room straight onto the beach and hear the waves at night. The AC was very good, important because it was very hot! The excursions/activities available were good (a little on the expensive side) - the scuba diving and snorkeling trip was amazing!

The restaurant ran out of most spirits and at one point had no cokes, by the end of our stay they were down to just beer and ciders, for a 5 star resort this was not good at all, particularly as it is not difficult to keep stock of drinks given their long shelf life. The service in the restaurant, particularly in the evening when it was busier was very slow. We would generally sit down for dinner at 7pm for a two course meal we were rarely finished by 9pm, often later. We took cards to dinner to keep ourselves entertained but the slow service was often frustrating. Once at the resort it is very expensive to get water taxis to other parts of the island, water taxis charge by the person so a for a family of 5 it would cost approx £150 one way to get to the other end of the island. It meant exploring Tioman was quite limited when based at The Boathouse

Over The Boathouse valt niets op te merken. Eén klein minpuntje is dat wanneer je van plan bent om andere dorpjes op het eiland te verkennen je steeds de boot moet nemen. Vanuit deze locatie kan je je niet eenvoudig verplaatsen over het land.

We loved the location! What a beautiful spot. The rooms were so comfortable, and had everything you needed. The staff were fantastic, as was the food.

They had no spirts and a very limited wine. For a hotel of this level, charging what they do, I was surprised they had run out of all liquor. This is poor planning from management and let the hotel down massively as we love to have cocktails on holiday. I appreciate it’s a remote location - but there was no alternative provided. They should perhaps offer to take guests to the next village free of charge to buy what they would like to drink. Or let them know ahead of arrival so they can come with supplies!

One of the best holidays we’ve ever had! Such a lovely place — we were welcomed so warmly and felt a bit like family. It’s a small hotel with a gigantic sense of space, giving us that private‑island vibe. Perfect service and super delicious food — breakfast was simply amazing! We came with our two kids, who loved it just as much. The thoughtful afternoon activities for children were a highlight and truly enjoyed by them. Thank you! <3

The food is good but a bit sad to see the same menu for lunch and dinner. Good thing they do special menu!

Super tolles, aufmerksames, warmherziges Team, tolles Management, jeder Wunsch wird von den Lippen abgelesen, Neue, sehr saubere Appartments, Super Ambiente, sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, tolle Integration eines Tauch- und Receeation-Centers mit vielen Angeboten. Einfacher, aber super sauberer Infinity-Pool, Strand, Liegen, Handtücher und Sanitäranlagen. Sehr gutes WiFi. Insgesamt sehr „würdiges“ 5* Resort mit gutem Preis-/Leistungsverzeichnis.

Aircondition nur mäßig einstellbar und sehr laut. Abgelegen, An- /Abreise und organisierte/private Touren zwingend mit (teilweise kostenpflichtigen) Boot Kein Telefonempfang/Mobiles Internet via 3/4/5G, Sandflies - also Kriebelmücken - die einen ohne Schutz auffressen, das wahre Ausmaß bekommt man erst nach Abreise mit - da wäre ein Hinweis des Betreibers und Mückenspray wichtig gewesen

The Boathouse exceeded expectations in every way. The location, food, facilities were all stunning and amazing. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. A peaceful, private paradise resort. The staff were brilliant, and very friendly, including at the dive centre who organised a fantastic snorkelling trip for us. We had an amazing trip of a lifetime and can’t wait to return!

Absolutely loved our stay at The Boathouse! Beautiful property in a stunning location, with incredible views and spotless, comfortable rooms. The breakfast was great, and the service was warm and attentive. A perfect tropical getaway – we can’t wait to come back!

C’était juste parfait! Nous avions un « front beach bungalow »qui était vraiment sur la plage avec une vue sur la mer depuis notre lit. Les bungalows sont discrètement intégrés dans le paysage à gauche du ponton; à droite de trouve le restaurant avec sa terrasse qui donne sur la piscine juste après la plage et les transats. Tout est propre et bien entretenu. Les repas sont très bons et l’équipe est aux petits soins. Nous avons fait la sortie snorkeling et avons vu une tortue et plein de magnifiques poissons. Je conseille+++; mieux que sur les photos!

El hotel es un buen hotel y las habitaciones son muy acogedoras.

Del hotel solo puedes salir en barco y, lo más sorprendente, el hotel no dispone de este medio de transporte para los clientes (solo para la llegada y la salida). Luego, o no te puedes mover del hotel o tienes que contratar el transporte en la agencia de buceo que hay detrás (que según dicen ellos es independiente del hotel) y que te cobran al cambio como 40€ por persona y trayecto (un abuso, ya que los precios en otras partes de la isla no son esos ni de lejos). Así que, a no ser que quieras quedarte en el hotel de relax (no hay ni un sendero para hacer una caminata o algo), no aconsejo para nada este alojamiento. Obviamente, también te obliga a hacer las comidas en el hotel y el restaurante es bastante flojo para un hotel de 5 estrellas.

Beautiful island resort. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive — every wish was fulfilled. We enjoyed wonderful experiences including diving, snorkeling, and fishing, and the chef prepared our freshly caught fish perfectly for dinner. The breakfast buffet was varied and absolutely delicious. We can highly recommend The Boathouse and will definitely come back ourselves. Special thanks go to Devon, our wonderful dive instructor, and to Najwa, who couldn’t have been any kinder or more helpful.

Penser à demander les plats écrits sur l ardoise pour le petit déjeuner. On nous avait pas dit que l on pouvait commander (omelette, pancakes, French toast…). Apporter crème solaire et après soleil car il n y en a pas dans le petit magasin de l hôtel

Très cher pour la Malaisie. Ils nous ont demandé 60€ pour venir nous chercher à une jetée plus éloignée que celle qu'il utilisent habituellement et nous ont fait attendre 1h30 ! Un honte pour un hotel de ce, soit disant, standing. Sur place, rien d'exceptionnel, plage et piscine agréables mais sans plus. Restaurant cher pour la Malaisie et vous n'avez pas le choix puisqu'il n'y en a qu'un ! On a vraiment préféré être à l'hotel Coconut à Juara qui est plus authentique et beaucoup moins cher.

Hard to say - it’s a young hotel that’s learning, but they are doing an amazing job!

Un véritable havre de paix au bord de la mer ! Les hébergements sont impeccables avec une vue magnifique sur la plage. De nombreuses activités sont proposées et le personnel, toujours aux petits soins, vous accueille chaleureusement avec des serviettes chaudes et de délicieux cocktails. Un séjour vraiment relaxant que j’ai adoré.

Seul petit point d’amélioration : la cuisine « occidentale », où la qualité des produits pourrait être optimisée pour être à la hauteur du reste de l’expérience ( soupe champignon ou brownie par exemple). La cuisine locale est quant à elle impeccable.

Tout: - La qualité de la chambre et du bungalow - Le fait de se sentir seul au monde sur cette plage privée réservée aux clients - Et par dessus tout la gentillesse et le dévouement du personnel qui a toujours le sourire. - Un anniversaire surprise a été organisé pour l'un de mes amis. Un spécial thanks à Siti qui nous a été d'une aide plus que précieuse dans l'organisation de notre retour vers Singapour.

The service didn’t match the surroundings. It is trying to be 5 star and yet on the one hand the staff were somewhat over attentive (arrival, whenever a signature was needed) or slow (to take you order, to remove plates etc) . We stayed at more of a backpacker place just prior and they had the last piece better organised effortlessly

Beautiful resort, small and not busy. Away from all the boat traffic and harbour. Great activity centre with a great snorkelling trip.

No where to walk apart from along 300m of beach. Shame there are no paths in the rainforest behind to explore without guides from the resort. Restaurant food was good but didn't blow us away.

Hervorragendes Ressort. Bungalows mit Top Ausstattung direkt am Strand. Dort, aber auch am Pool und vom Restaurant aus fantastischer Meerblick. Essen im Restaurant ausgezeichnet. Durch die überschaubare Größe der Anlage, gemeinsame Aktivitäten wie Schnorchelausflüge oder die Drinks an der Strandbar kommt man schnell mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch. Sehr entspannte Atmosphäre. Hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit des Personals, ohne Ausnahme. Wir hatten 5 Übernachtungen, hätten aber auch noch länger bleiben können.

Abholung von Genting mit dem Boot zur Unterkunft war sehr gut organisiert und hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Das Personal war dabei sehr bemüht und hilfsbereit. Die Hotelanlage sieht sehr schön aus und wurde wunderbar in die bestehende Landschaft integriert. Der Pool ist das absolute Highlight der Unterkunft und schließt sich dem Speisesaal an. Die Zimmer sind groß und modern eingerichtet, das Bett ist sehr bequem. Das Bad bietet genügend Platz und kann mit einer sehr schönen Dusche punkten.

Englischkenntnisse des Personals teilweise sehr ausbaufähig. Servicequalität des Personals war mangelhaft, was besonders ärgerlich war, da mehr als ausreichend Angestellte des Hotels vor Ort waren. So wurden wir häufig beim Essen nicht bedient und vom Personal ignoriert, obwohl zu diesem Zeitpunkt das Personal untätig rumstand. Oft wurden Bestellungen vergessen oder falsch an den Tisch gebracht, was dem Hotelstandard nicht gerecht wurde. Die angebotenen Aktivitäten des Hotels sind im Vergleich zum Preisniveau der Insel Tioman unverhältnismäßig teuer. Unverschämt fanden wir eine Situation, in der ein Angestellter abends einfach in unser Zimmer gekommen ist und in sehr schlechtem Englisch ein fehlendes Dokument verlangte. An sich wäre das nicht erwähnenswert sofern wir nicht gerade im Bad beim Duschen gewesen wären. Nur im Handtuch bekleidet wollten wir dem Angestellten klar machen, dass wir später zur Rezeption kommen, um die Angelegenheit zu klären. Erstaunlicherweise fand der Angestellte die Situation alles andere als unpassend und hat sich nicht für seinen "Besuch" entschuldigt. Auf spätere Nachfrage bei der Rezeption konnte uns niemand sagen warum der Kollege bei uns war und anscheinend fehlte auch kein Dokument... Bei Abreise wollten wir pünktlich zum Frühstück erscheinen, was laut Plan um 07:00 losging. Leider waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht einmal die Hälfte aller angebotenen Speisen verfügbar. Somit mussten wir uns mit einem stark reduzierten Frühstück abfinden. Auch die Qualität des Essens ließ ab und an zu wünschen übrig, so fanden wir im Burger leider noch Knochensplitter im Hackfleisch. Auch das entspricht nicht dem angepriesenen Hotelstandard.

Wir hatten einen Bungalow direkt am Strand mit einer fantastischen Aussicht direkt vom Bett auf das Meer. Die Einrichtung ist modern, sehr sauber und praktisch. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und sympathisch. Wir würden sofort wieder hinreisen und können das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen.

Die laute Brandung des Meeres ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Very new, great accomodation on a fantastic beach. Staff were happy and lovely but still learning the ropes.

Some alcoholic drinks are available, but it’s very much an afterthought. No cocktails available at all despite the superb tropical location and a “beach bar” and a very short and poor wine list (actually there was no list - it was neccesary to view the bottles themselves). Acknowledging of course that it is a Muslim country, I still think you either do alcoholic drinks properly or make clear that you do not do them at all.

Alles, mooi proper resort, denkt aan het milieu, gratis water in herbruikbare flessen. Erg vriendelijk personeel dat er voor zorgt dat je een droomvakantie kan hebben, niks is hun teveel.

Fantastische locatie met hele mooie, nieuwe en luxe bungalows. Personeel erg vriendelijk en service gericht. De game room voor de kinderen, het zwembad en de leuke tripjes via het Dive Centre maken het helemaal compleet. Restaurant ook goed en het ontbijt erg lekker. Als je op Tioman wil overnachten zou ik dit zeker aanraden!!

- claims of a 5 star hotel are dubious - Food is quite average. Certainly not 5 star but then it’s not so expensive albeit it is only option for guests - Willingness to accommodate on tours is lacking. Minimum 4 people per tour. Whilst I understand about it being worth it for them and profit margins to protect, there should be a way to accommodate for tours where just 2 people are keen especially if no other tours are running hence the boat is available. They should especially accommodate guests spending a lot of money with them - for example, can you offer a free tour or a tour with 300 ringgit each, for guests who book 5 nights? If they can’t generate the interest for their tours then they either need to offer better more appealing tours or find a way to make it work for couples. Otherwise there is not a lot to do and whilst yes the point is to relax and escape, you still need options especially when certain other aspects around the food and coffee for example are lacking. They MUST implement more flexibility. An example here is that for diving its 3 dives or nothing. They should have options for 2 dives or single dives. It’s not far to the dive sites, it wouldn’t be difficult to accommodate and would show that added service level needed. Another example is my parents having wanted to do a tour to a waterfall and with lunch in a town. There wasn’t other interest and there seemed to be a complete lack of drive or willingness for staff to try and find a workaround at least not until I messaged. Then they offered a stripped back version excluding lunch but for the same price . Not good enough. When you visit a 5 star resort or hotel you want to feel like your requests are being listened to and feel the staff are trying to accommodate your needs especially when they are perfectly reasonable. A lot of push back was annoying.

Vi fik en guidet tur igennem junglen og op til et vandfald, det var fantastisk. Udsigten fra vores værelse var vidunderlig. Værelset var nyt og flot. Alle de ansatte var meget flinke og smilende.

Det er et nyt sted, hvor flere af tjenerne har brug for erfaring/oplæring. Jeg bestilte mad uden chili to gange, men begge gange var maden fyldt med chili.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt von einer Woche im Boathouse und werden ganz sicher wiederkommen. Bereits bei der Ankunft wurden wir herzlich empfangen und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Das gesamte Team des Boathouse war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat jeden Wunsch der Gäste sofort erfüllt. Die gesamte Anlage ist aussergewöhnlich schön angelegt, das Essen abwechslungsreich und gut und die Bungalows sind perfekt ausgestattet. In dieser Umgebung fällt es einem wirklich leicht komplett abzuschalten, den Alltag zu vergessen, einfach nur zu genießen und die Natur und die Tiere zu beobachten. Auch das Diving Center und die angebotenen Schnorcheltouren können wir absolut weiterempfehlen.

We had the most amazing experience at the boathouse, from the start to the very end the staff took such good care of us and were so friendly and welcoming. The scenery is stunning, the food was great, the snorkelling trip was so much fun and the room was so clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here!

Wir haben 6 wundervolle Nächte im The Boathouse verbracht und können das Hotel wirklich nur wärmstens empfehlen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, wunderschöne Anlage, gutes Essen und man hat die Möglichkeit, komplett abzuschalten und runterzukommen. Einziger Minuspunkt ist die etwas komplizierte Anreise (Bus nach Mersing, Fähre nach Tioman), die sich aber auf jeden Fall lohnt :)

Beautiful remote location and very charming, clean and beautiful bungalows in a paradisaical setting. We also really liked the bar, pool and restaurant area with perfect beach views and the exceptional friendly stuff. The diving was fun and very well organised. Food was ok although some things weren't available at that time. There are also couple of activities on offer like boat trips etc. but these were a quite expansive compared to what you pay elsewhere.

Uns hat einfach alles sehr gut gefallen und wir sind uns einig, dass das eines der schönsten Hotelaufenthalte war, die wir je hatten und wären gerne länger geblieben. Wenn wir könnten, würden wir mindestens eine 12 von 10 vergeben. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und herzlich und hat versucht, jeden Wunsch der Gäste zu erfüllen. Die Vorab-Kommunikation über die Abholung von der Fähre lief super. Als wir der Rezeption auch vorab mitteilten, dass wir Vegetarier sind, wurde dies vor unserer Ankunft schon weiter an die Küche kommuniziert. Den Chefkoch können wir auch nur lobend erwähnen. Er kam persönlich auf uns zu und hat uns viele weitere vegetarische Optionen angeboten, die er für uns extra machen könnte. Die täglichen Aktivitäten, sowie der kostenlose Mocktail um 17 Uhr, waren sehr abwechslungsreich und gab uns die Gelegenheit, andere Hotelgäste ungezwungen kennenzulernen. Auch die Tauchschule und deren Schnorcheltour können wir nur empfehlen! Nicht zu vergessen, dass die gesamte Anlage traumhaft schön gestaltet ist und man schon bei der Ankunft, beim Frühstück oder den Beach Houses einen wunderschönen Ausblick hat. Außerdem liegt die Anlage schön in die Natur eingebettet mit vielen Tieren.

It is new and clean. As it was close to monsoon season, very few guests. The staff did try to show how to play some local games.. secluded due to the nature of Tioman island. Only 1 restaurant but the chef did try to accede to individual meal request that is not on the menu.

The flying ants were an annoyance when they came out in the evening after the rain. Nothing much you can do as this is set in nature. The canopy over the bed is interesting.. with the ceiling fan and Aircon blasting away. You could hardly feel it reaches out to you sleeping under the canopy. Bed is a bit on the soft side

Es gibt keine Straßen, sodass man nur per Wassertaxi woanders hinkommt

Eine sehr neue und sehr schöne Unterkunft in super Lage. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Der Service ist Spitze. Die Zimmer/ Villas sind sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und der Zierservice ist klasse.

Das Essen könnte noch etwas abwechlungsreicher sein. Vielleicht wäre es möglich noch ein paar lokale Spezialitäten anzubieten wie z.B. mehr Fisch und Meeresfrüchte. Eine Gelegenheit für Massagen wäre auch toll gewesen. Die Unterkunft ist jedoch noch sehr neu und uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass hier bereits dran gearbeitet wird. Daher volle Punktzahl! :-)

Le personnel aux petits soins, la chambre, la plage immense pour nous seuls, le buffet à volonté le soir (des choix à la carte et des suggestions sur une ardoise sont également disponibles). L'endroit est paradisiaque. Nous y reviendrons à coup sûr !

Wunderschöne Bungalows direkt am Strand. Extrem schöne Anlage. Toller Pool. Leckeres Essen. Jeden Abend Strandbar und Spiele oder Beachvolleyball. Das Personal ist unglaublich! Danke, dass ihr euch so toll um alles gekümmert habt! Wir haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt! 💕 Wir konnten wunderbar abschalten an diesem Stück Strand nur für uns allein. Auch das Tauchcenter ist sehr zu empfehlen mit super engagierten Instructors.

Die Unterkunft ist insgesamt sehr schön - die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet, die Anlage sehr gepflegt. Es gibt jeden Tag am frühen Abend ein get together an der Bar, bei denen man mit anderen Gästen und den Angestellten ins Gespräch kommen kann. Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen, insbesondere das Buffet, sind wirklich gut. Es gibt eine Tauchschule direkt in der Anlage.

La Spiaggia sulla quale sorge il Resort non è tra le migliori dell’isola essendo un pó meno riparata, vento e mare mosso

Petit île paradisiaque, personnel très accueillant. Magnifique chambre avec terrasse vue mer. Bon petit déjeuner en terrasse si vous le souhaitez, tout comme le diner. Belle piscine, transats et serviettes de plage disponibles. Si vous recherchez le calme, cet hôtel est l’endroit idéal.

Chambre propre à notre arrivée…mais recouche très rapide et bâclée. Dommage pour un hôtel de cette catégorie ! Nous avons du réclamer pour que le ménage soit fait, poubelle non vidée, verres utilisés juste rincés, miroir sale et j’en passe. Les serviettes de plage sont tachées d’auréoles jaunes…Améliorez ces points et ce sera parfait. Le buffet manque un peu de choix.

Ich habe schon einige Hotels gesehen aber dieses Hotel ist mit Abstand das Beste welches ich jemals gebucht habe. Alles ist soo wundervoll perfekt. Die Bungalows sind traumhaft, das Bett ist himmlisch , der Pool mit Blick aufs Meer. Alles so unfassbar gepflegt und sauber. Noch nie so tolles, freundliches, herzliches und absolut aufmerksames Hotelpersonal erlebt. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit dort und Tränen in den Augen als wir dieses kleine Paradies wieder verlassen mussten… The Boathouse Pulau Tioman wir kommen definitiv wieder! Hoffentlich schon ganz, ganz bald♥️ Wir vermissen euch nämlich jetzt schon🥺

Rust en netheid, zeer vriendelijk en toegewijd personeel. Hele resort is pas een half jaar oud en ziet er schitterend uit. Mooi zwembad met wat ligbedden direct aan de zee. Echt genieten hier met goed eten. Als de boot aankomt in Genting word je opgehaald zodat je binnen 10 minuten al op de locatie bent. Echt een aanrader, dit resort.

El hotel tiene instalaciones modernas y bien equipado. Perfectamente integrado en el paisaje.

El hotel lleva abierto dos meses y el personal, aunque entusiasta y encantador, es poco profesional.
