Travel of Swan International Hostel

What a find! Loved this hostel with its friendly staff, delicious wonton soup and amazing location (couldn't be closer to the West Gate if you tried!). The boss gave me great advice about how best to get around the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, especially varied hiking routes. The rooftop was a nice place to have a beer and spent lovely evenings in the downstairs shared space. Thank you!

My electronic locker did keep jamming, but the staff came to fix this quickly for me. Breakfast opened at 7am, which was a little late when the West Gate entrance opens at 6am. However, this is really picky and there were other places to find breakfast if you were planning on going super early!

Location is key here! You need to be close to the park gate to get in early. No crowds, no queues, have the best experience for this special place. Staff is great, will help you with planning and anything else you can ask them. Home cooked meal is nice, good selection of different foods and flavors while chatting to other guests. We got great tips on which route to take and spots to visit in the park from people that were there the dsys before

It has all the necessary items covered. Since the rooftop is open as a space for hanging laundry, it is beneficial for backpackers.

Muy limpio todo. La cama era cómoda y tenían baños occidentales. Esta al lado de la entrada este del parque y a 5 minutos caminando de la estación de colectivo para ir a Tianmen (cuesta 13CYN y llegas en 40mins) y a la estación de trenes. Me ayudaron a comprar las entradas. Habia huespedes tanto de china como de otras partes del mundo y se podía socializar, lo cual fue lindo pues viaje sola.

Great location and lovely hostel

Pour commencer, il y a constamment du bruit dans tout l’hôtel, de 6 h du matin jusqu’à 2 h du matin. Le soir, des groupes restent devant l’hôtel pour boire de l’alcool et fumer de l’herbe, ce qui rend les nuits particulièrement bruyantes et désagréables. Concernant les machines à laver, elles sont quasiment toujours indisponibles en raison d’un usage abusif par les personnes présentes dans l’hôtel. Et lorsque vous réussissez enfin à en utiliser une, vous devez faire sécher votre linge sur la terrasse, qui sert également de fumoir. Quant à la chambre, elle est dans un état très délabré. Elle était également très sale, avec des traces de moisissure et de nombreuses taches sur les murs. Pour couronner le tout, vers 1 h du matin, alors que nous n’arrivions pas à dormir à cause du bruit, nous avons découvert la présence de cafards dans la salle de bain. Comme vous l’aurez compris, après cette première nuit, nous avons décidé de ne pas rester dans cet hôtel pour la suite de notre séjour. En fin de journée, nous sommes donc allés demander au propriétaire le remboursement des nuits restantes, puisque nous ne souhaitions évidemment pas rester dans de telles conditions. Sa première réponse a été catégorique : aucun remboursement n’était possible. Il a finalement changé d’avis lorsque je lui ai montré les photos des cafards, qui, soit dit en passant, ne semblaient pas particulièrement le choquer. Il nous a même expliqué qu’il aurait été préférable de le prévenir plus tôt afin qu’il puisse relouer la chambre le soir même. En résumé, si vous souhaitez pouvoir dormir tranquillement et passer de bonnes vacances, je vous déconseille fortement cet hôtel. L’expérience a été extrêmement décevante et les conditions ne correspondent absolument pas à ce que l’on peut attendre d’un hébergement.

동문까지 2분? 숙소에서 나와서 오른쪽으로 사선으로 계속 주차장 가로질러가면 그곳이 동문이에요. 천문산,장자제서역,대협곡,남문 가는 버스터미널도 도보 10분. 저녁에 5분만 걸어나와도 야시장 있고, 과일도 팔아요. 스텝들 친절하시고, 데이비드는 언제나 뭘 도와주려 마음써주고, 저녁6시30분부터 함께 둘러앉아 덜어먹는 저녁식사는 38위안이고 훌륭합니다.

La ubicación excelente para la entrada al parque. El lugar estaba limpio y la habitación era super amplia, tiene una mesita y imuna silla tipo escritorio, las camas tienen cortina para tu privacidad, luz y enchufe en tu cubiculo y el aire acondicionado funcionaba perfecto,además venden un desayuno basico para comenzar el día! Tambien una terraza bastante comoda

Location was perfect to access Zhangjiaje National Park - less than 5 minute walk. The hostel was clean, the room was spacious. David was very helpful in planning for the park. But the most amazing part was the optional home cooked dinners every night - the perfect way to end each day of exploring the park by eating amazing local dishes with other travellers.

Top location. The hostel is 5 min walk from the East (main) gate of Zhangjiajie Forest Park. It is close to shops and stalls if you need provisions for your walks in the park. Great atmosphere. The hostel has a nice vibe, with a communal seating and dining area on the ground floor where travellers can mix. Cold beer and soft drinks are available for purchase. Tasty dinners. There’s an optional communal dinner - CNY38 at time of writing - where the manager’s aunt cooks a fantastic selection of varied dishes each night. I stayed 4 nights and didn’t eat anywhere else! Handy laundry - facility on the top floor with washing machines, a tumble dryer and outdoor space to hang clothes under cover. Good rooms. My room (#200) was quite spacious. It had a separate seating area. The bathroom had an excellent hot shower with deluge and spray options. The rooms don’t get serviced during the stay but you can ask for anything you need. Helpful and friendly staff. Interactive hosts who speak good English and who can help with booking discounted tickets if required. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

Så mysigt hostel. Boendet har jättebra läge till nationalparken! Ca 5 minuters gång till östra entrén. Gillade också boendet för att personalen var väldigt hjälpsam och trevlig. Världens gulligaste! Rekommenderar👍🏼 Lätt att träffa andra människor på hostelet med om man vill socialisera. De har erbjuder gemensam middag varje kväll.

Perfekte Lage Tolle Mitarbeiter

Man muss sein Bett selber beziehen. Nervig bei Late Check in oder wenn andere mitten in der Nacht kommen. Statt Vorhänge gibt’s hier Rollos. Unpraktisch Schließfächer sind laut Es gibt nur zwei duschen und zwei Toiletten wobei nur eine davon die westliche Toilette ist. Super nervig, dass die Tür nach innen aufgeht.

ну с хостелом в Ченду конечно не сравнить - там вообще было все новое и красивое, но здесь тоже есть свои плюсы, которые с лихвой перевешивают любые недостатки: очень вкусные домашние ужины из 5-7 блюд всего за 38 юаней (каждый день разные блюда, но много мяса и овощей), пельмешки собственного изготовления - нормальная порция за 15 юаней в любое время дня, классная дружеская атмосфера - в основном иностранцы из всех уголков земли - вечерние посиделки за ужином и после - реально сдружили нас всех! На ресепшене все рассказали и показали на хорошем английском, забронировали все билеты и вообще во всем помогали. Дэвид, спасибо тебе огромное за всё!!! Есть стиральная машина за 5 юаней (с порошком), сушильная машина бесплатно. Есть тапки, горячая вода для чая. Расположение - огонь: всего 3 минуты до входа в парк и 5 минут до автовокзала.

К сожалению нет лифта - на четвертый этаж бегать каждый раз не оч.удобно (если что забыл перед выходом - лишний раз подумаешь еще возвращаться или нет). Еще не оч удобно что туалетная бумага снаружи кабинки. хз сколько с собой отматывать - а вдруг не хватит? Мне кажется в таком раскладе расход даже больше получается чем если в каждую кабинку бумагу положить.

Travel of Swan International Hostel was a great stay, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds, especially good for a hostel. The location couldn’t be better for accessing the East Gate, including the Avatar Mountains and Golden Whip Stream. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and Winnie was particularly outstanding. She went above and beyond by helping me book Zhangjiajie activities and entry tickets, and even put together a custom itinerary for me in advance. I’d highly recommend getting in touch via WeChat ahead of time and giving them enough notice, as their support can really enhance your trip.

Another very good basic well ran hostel. David is very helpful with Any issues you might have. He speaks pretty good English and can book the national park tickets from the hostel immediately. The hostel has produced a very good two day itinerary which is very detailed and easy to follow. If you add to this a further public bus ride (13¥ each way) to the Glass bridge and Canyon adventure area that will cover three pretty intensive days. The reception lounge area is very cool and relaxed and the cold Beers are again just 6¥. The 5th floor roof terrace is also very cool and you can wash and dry your clothes by hand free of charge. Excellent location, surrounded with shops and food stalls and just a 5 Min walk to enter the East gate of the national park. The Beds are very comfortable and clean with privacy blinds plus all have their own small light and power socket. The room electronic Key is also used for a very large personal locker All inclusive of the room fee. Hot water is available 24/7 for drinks or the very popular Chinese Pot noodles etc

Sanitaires pas assez nombreux et donc vite sales, squatting wc uniquement pour les dortoirs , ménage des communs laissant à désirer Clairement l’équipe ménage n’intervient pas tous les jours ce qui est bien dommage vu la fréquentation Cependant lorsque j’en ai fait la demande ils ont mis un coup de propre dans les sanitaires donc ne pas hésiter

The location was amazing, 5min walk to the East entrance of Wulingyuan. They also let us check in early since they had a room available. The staff was all friendly.

It was unfortunate that such a beautiful place and new building was badly maintained. It was obvious that the staff didn’t really know how to clean and didn’t hire cleaners. The shared rooms with multiple people looked better, but our room had a lot of hair and dust bunnies on the floor, as well as scuff/dead bug marks on the wall. The bathroom and curtains had some black mould, and the shower drain had flies in it when we arrived. The AC worked well but looked neglected with mould or dirt visible. When we asked about the issues the staff was apologetic and came to spray insecticides and re-mop the floor. I asked if there was a vacuum I could use but they did not have that, which explained the hair and dust. This probably started as a very cute place but now has lost some of its charm due to the lack of proper maintenance. I understand it is a hostel but there was a lot I could’ve done myself in 30min if I was the owner - if the staff is reading this review: please get a vacuum, wash the curtains and mouldy bathroom with vinegar, and scrub the walls!

Staffs were super helpful, shout out to Dewy and An who helped me a lot in this trip. They answer my endless questions with ease and booked lots of attractions with discounted price! I met many friends from this hostel and we had a dinner two nights in a row. Hostel is so close to the East Gate and restaurants. Across the hostel, there's breakfast place and supermarket that sells some breads. It really felt like home away from home.

Good English, David can book your parc tickets for you. The place is really close to the entrance. The room was clean with a secure big closet. There is a rooftop to clean and dry your laundry. I highly recommend 👌

Nobody seems to care much about cleanliness, espeacialy about the bathrooms...

Staff was lovelyyy! Location - it’s 2min walk to the park. But if you want to go to Tianmon mountain, you have to go first to the city (25min) and there take the cablecar.

Everything is DIRTY. It’s really sad because you can see everything is kinda newly renovated and it’s really bad that they do not have cleaning staff as they don’t know how to clean. Dirty common space, dirty bathrooms, bad was not okay, there was mold in the bedroom,… I would not stay here.

Location was great! So close to the park. Cute food market in the evenings and good restaurants near by 👌🏼

The squat toilet

The hostel is about a 10 minute walk from the Wulingyuan enterance of the Zhangjiajie National Park - a fantastic location even for lodging that would cost several times more per night! The hostel and facilities are clean throughout. The host provided valuable info through WeChat, particularly on weather conditions in the park that affected transportation options within the park. Great value for your money given the comfort, cleanliness, and superb location! Just one note: make sure you can use Alipay - you can only pay for the laundry machine using Alipay.

Very clean. Furnishing are new and well maintained. Heating is excellent. We are a family of 3 from Singapore and spent a total of 5 nights here, climbed various parts of of the zjj forest reserve. Strongly recommended.

The staff was friendly and helpful, he booked my ticket to the park. The room was very clean and nice.

There is only a chinese toilet (which was very clean), maybe the hostel is only for Chinese travelers. But thé staff let me stay and was very friendly.
