The location is strategic in Dukezong Ancient Town. The staff takes care of every need from transport to laundry. Breakfast is a mix of western and Asian cuisine and they are excellent 👍 Well prepared with plenty of fruits. Grind coffee is available on request. The room is so detailed to the extent that oxygen machine is available next to the bed. We felt homely and well cared by the owner. The owner also assisted to arrange our private tour with their family associate. We had Qu Zhen as our transporter for 2 days. It was very safe and relaxed on the road with her.

Alojamiento idealmente ubicado y muy bonito y acogedor. El desayuno que te sirven es delicioso y muy abundante. Pero sin duda lo que destacaría es la amabilidad y cercanía del personal, que hace tu estancia muy fácil y cómoda desde que llegas hasta que te vas.

Absolutely lovely staff + great location. Lovely homestay. Every single one of them was amazing, extremely helpful and welcoming. We had a small problem in the middle of the night, were we called them and they solved the problem for us right away, with great friendliness! Loved everyone of them who worked there. One of the girls speaks great English and the rest of them did everything they could to minimize possible miscommunication caused by language barrier. The room was very stylish and had good equipment. Delicious breakfast and they offered a cup of local hot milk every night. As a bonus, the staff offered free pick up. That was most helpful since network problems and roadblocks would've otherwise made finding the hotel very difficult. Wonderful homestay, which we recommended to friends traveling to Shangri-La in the near future.

Amazing stay with incredible hospitality. I have never experienced such warm and thoughtful hospitality from hosts before. They picked me up from the airport in the rain and welcomed me with hot tea and snacks. I was also given a lovely goody bag of souvenirs to welcome me to Shangri-La. The room was so cosy and comfortable with wonderful attention to detail and beautiful design features. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. They prepared me a delicious vegetarian, home-cooked breakfast and brought me warm milk at bedtime. Incredibly helpful and assisted me in booking a driver to take me to Lijiang, Baishuitai and Leaping Tiger Gorge. The family made me feel so welcome and I will definitely stay again if I get the chance to return to Shangri-La. An incredible stay~

Low ceilings, main water was cut off so we couldn’t shower or flush the toilet, maintenance was basic (didn’t replenish toilet paper)

Wonderful stay with amazing hospitality! The hotel is located in the heart of the old town, which makes it very convenient to explore the area on foot. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, so getting around was easy without needing transportation. The owner and staff were absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We had to check out very early in the morning, and they kindly prepared breakfast boxes for us in advance, which was such a thoughtful touch. They even helped arrange a Didi ride to the airport for us at no extra charge. We truly appreciated their kindness and generosity. Overall, we had a lovely stay and were very impressed by the warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

One area that could be improved is the bathroom. The bathroom wall does not extend all the way to the ceiling, which means that odors and moisture may travel into the bedroom. Extending the wall to the ceiling could help make the room more comfortable.

Cet hôtel est remarquable : de grandes chambres (nous avons voyagé en famille avec trois enfants de 17, 18, 19 ans), un personnel d'une gentillesse et d'une délicatesse qui va bien au-delà du marketing ! Une chambre de luxe pour les parents et les enfants ont été surclassés dans une sorte de suite qui est un véritable appartement. Tarif très correct pour Shangri-La. Un petit déjeuner (pas buffet) très copieux et de qualité (plateau ou assiette avec salade, charcuterie, oeufs brouillés, etc ou noodle). Extrêmement bien placé au calme mais à 5mn à pied de la place centrale où se tiennent des danses quotidiennement en fin de journée. Et le must : la blanchisserie offerte dans le séjour ce qui n'était pas du luxe dans un voyage de trois semaines....

Il faut savoir qu'il y a beaucoup de marches et d'escaliers pour accéder aux chambres donc cela peut être difficile pour certains.

A highly curated “diffused” hotel with very spacious, luminous and extremely well equipped rooms. From the moment I arrived - fatigued due to the altitude- I felt home. The owners, a family of 4 brothers and sisters make everything possible to ensure guests have a blast. Very curated breakfast in a common area that facilitates conversations with other fellow guests.

I have never stayed in a hotel with so much hospitality as this. Truely amazing!! The location was amazing, right in the old town but in a location that was quiet and peaceful. The family running it were so helpful and welcoming.

The hotel is well located, and has a bold design (very contemporary). But don’t be fooled by the cool photos. The actual building is precarious (as I explain below). On the upside, the staff is exceedingly kind, and the breakfasts were incredibly good.

There was no wardrobe—how are guests staying for several days expected to organize their clothes? There was also no desk or chair. Overall, the room was uncomfortable and poorly equipped, suitable only for sleeping and showering. The photos posted online give the impression of a sophisticated hotel, but my experience was very different. During my four-day stay, the room was not cleaned once, and neither the sheets nor the towels were changed.

The staff were attentive and accommodating. They were very patient with our questions and helped us solve for any problems we may have. We had to leave very early the last day to make our train and they packed a breakfast for us to go. I loved my stay here.

Pretty much everything was great. The lady at reception (Liu-Liu, and my apologies if that's mis-spelled) was delightful, and so helpful. She organised transport for us, and even paid for it. She gave us a free very late check-out. The breakfast was fantastic (but be aware it's not a buffet). Our room and bed and shower were lovely. We worked out that the toilet sees one approaching, which was fun. The location is perfect: in the old town, but quiet, and a taxi can get within about 20 metres.

We had an incredible stay at Karensansui! The hotel is , with clean, comfortable rooms that are instantly make you feel at home. The location is perfect for those who want to be in the old town but on a quiet street. The breakfast is delicious and the owners are wonderful! They helped us with all our logistics and securing a great driver for our day trip. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We will be back.

It feels more like a homestay rather than hotel. very cozy, local feeling. love the breakfast that Liu Liu made every morning - changes every morning. Plus point is their resident husky Xiao Ha who would greet us every morning.

There's a bit too many steps around the place so tough to manage my luggage around. The bathroom is a little too cramp too.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious and clean, and the location was excellent. What made our experience truly special was the host and his team — they were incredibly kind, helpful, and caring throughout our stay. We experienced altitude sickness during our trip, and they took very good care of us and made sure we were comfortable. The host also personally arranged pick-up and drop-off at both the train station and the airport, even at 6am, which we really appreciated. Another thoughtful touch was preparing breakfast for us to take away when we had to leave early. The breakfast was delicious and very healthy. Highly recommend this hotel for both the comfort and the exceptional hospitality!

I chose this accommodation because I wanted to stay in Shangri-La old town, and because the publicity looked attractive - and I was very pleased that I did. It offers all modern amenities, and yet it blends perfectly into the local environment. It is in a quiet corner of the old town, yet only a minute or two away from the bustle. It is very comfortable, clean and well-kept, and all of the rooms have an individual character - this is not a typical, modern concrete block! Shangri-La can be very cold at night, even during the months when it is warm by day. However, the room was deliciously warm, with floor-heating. The hosts' answer to every request is "yes". They will prepare whatever you wish for breakfast and serve it at the time of your preference. They can recommend some great eating houses. Upon request, they will arrange excursions, car with driver. They are also willing to pick you up, and drop you off, at the airport which is not very distant. All in all, this address made for a very comfortable few days and it was so much more pleasant to return to a place in the old town at the end of a full day's sight-seeing.

The hosts showed us incredible hospitality and helped organize trips the area. Our rooftop suite was lovely, and our family of four felt well taken care of. We were offered a ride to the airport by the host and breakfasts were accompanied by great European style barista coffee.

Our stay at this hotel in Shangri-La was truly memorable, thanks to the incredibly kind and helpful hosts, Liu Liu and Xiao Zhou, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. From the moment we arrived, their excellent service was evident. They provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off at the train station, which made our journey so much smoother. We were also warmly welcomed with thoughtful gifts, a gesture that immediately made us feel cared for. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious home-cooked breakfast prepared each morning — hearty, comforting, and a perfect start to the day in the cool Shangri-La weather. What really stood out was their attention to detail. After a long day of sightseeing, we returned to find that they had already turned on the heater in our room, ensuring a warm and cozy environment for us to relax in. Xiao Zhou also brought us warm milk before bedtime which was truly awesome! It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La and would definitely stay here again.

Nice decor- very welcoming- staff went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are quite nice - underfloor heating and a heater if needed. We had two rooms - ours had a large bathtub in it. My children’s room - directly below us just had a shower room. The beds were super comfy. Breakfast was super. No choices however. If you are vegetarian you must warm in advance as there is meat served at breakfast. The dining space is pretty cool. There was lots of fresh fruit and water provided in every room. It’s a five minute walk to the main town square. At the end of our stay we were given a lift to the train. Station - about 10 mins away.

It really is lovely - however I think that some areas ( eg behind the sinks) could just be noticed a bit more and given a deeper clean - I’m being pedantic really - as the hotel really is lovely.

We had such a lovely stay in Shangri-La 🙏From the warm welcome gift (a thoughtful fridge magnet & few keytags) to the tea, biscuits and pastries on arrival, every detail was so special. We loved being able to choose our body wash scent and breakfast the next morning was absolutely amazing. The hosts truly went above and beyond💗, even helping take us to the airport for our early flight, which we really appreciated. Beautiful room, great location and the most wonderful hospitality. The hosts are exceptionally warm and hospitable. Liu Liu and her husband prepared the best breakfast for us in all the 10 days in Yunnan, and for that, we are eternally grateful to them. Booked here for the second night after our hike at 雨崩. Equally pleasant and nice coming back to a hotel that has rooms warm enough during winter. Was surprised to note that breakfast was a different menu! Most hotels just repeat their menu every morning but the owner put in effort to cook something different each time. They also helped stored our luggage with them when we were away for the hike, and brought the luggage up to our room before we were back 5 days later.

Room's are aesthetically designed, room heater is more than sufficient (which we feel is always lacking in other hotels during winter season). Had extended chats with the owner who is extremely friendly and gave good recommendations. Could also tell that they invested a lot in this hotel such as the bed, heating devices, humidifier etc. Breakfast was very good. We also easily arranged for transport to get out of town with their help.

The hosts were amazingly friendly, kind and warm...the warmth, especially, was so important to us when the weather was so freezing cold. Stay here if you would like to feel as if you are staying with friends, rather than at an impersonal international chain hotel. The design of the hotel is one-of-a-kind too. Beautiful individual villa layout in Zen style that you wouldn't find anywhere else in Shangril-la. And the location is quietly peaceful, yet conveniently located within the ancient city. Definitely recommend staying here! Our trip to Shangri-la wouldn't have been as memorable otherwise...🥰

The hotel is conveniently located within the city center of Shangri-La, just a 10 min walk away from the main square and very close to plenty of cafes and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and fully equipped with heater for the cold, heated toilet, bathrobes and slippers. Breakfast was included and it was delicious - eggs, bacon, sausage, toast with butter and fruit. A special shoutout to the owner Gesang who was absolutely amazing in taking us to visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shibaoshan Grottes (one of our favorite visits in China!). She also had great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Shangri-La.

客栈坐落在独克宗古城的西北角，比较靠近古城北门，交通比较便利。客栈的房间比较古朴，但各种设施比较齐全，尤其是房间配备了制氧机，对初到高海拔地区的游客很有用，工作人员基本上都是藏民，人很好！淳朴，热情！
