Super nettes Personal.
Heerlijke plek vlakbij ingang NP.
Niets
Really nice stay. Amazing location near the entrance to the park.
We loved the location to the reserve. Cute restaurant on site and also a 2 min walk away. We loved the pool and the friendly staff who arranged the safari.
Had a lovely brekkie at Walawa Reach Hotel. The food was fresh, tasty, and well presented. The staff were really friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Definitely recommend this place if you’re staying nearby!
When I first arrived, I checked in smoothly . But the room is leaking after heavy rain. And moved to another room. Good.
great location for safari. friendly staff. huge room. lovely pristine pool with great views.
nothing:)
Very happy with our stay!

Place is very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food and they arranged a nice BBQ. The swimming pool was also very clean and nice.
Nice pool, spacious room and friendly staff. Organised our safari
BBQ dinner was expensive, no water dispenser & wifi didnt reach the room
Our new villa and the swimming pool and the cooking Friendly staff.
Leaking roof under heavy rain - teething problems in new villa!
We felt comfortable overall and would especially like to highlight the truly excellent service – the staff were consistently very friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. This made a big difference for us. The food was also delicious – a real highlight of our stay. The accommodation itself is perfectly fine for the price. Overall, we had a great time and would particularly like to commend the dedicated and welcoming team as well as the fantastic cuisine. Thank you so much!
We had a lovely two night at Walawa Reach! They gave us a free upgrade to their new rooms with two double beds which were very comfortable! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, sorting out a full-day safari for us. I would definitely recommend doing the full-day as more chance of seeing more animals- we had the best day! Lovely pool to relax and the food they served was great! Thanks for having us :)))
Very helpful and kind staff, very nice clean and new cabin - we were the first guests in the room so the staff organised a little welcome ceremony, it was amazing! Very close to the park entrance - we saw elephants from the road on the drive to the hotel. Great pool.
Nothing
We had a lovely stay here. The hosts were very friendly and the food they made was of a very high standard, all made to order with care
Nice new property with a few teething problems but nothing to spoil our stay Host arranged a terrific safari trip which was very good, food was good overall a good place to stay next to Udawalawe national park
Nothing to dislike
We were so beautifully looked after by Chamil and Dimity. The rooms are just as pictured in the photos, although we weren't prepared for the building work going on the other side of the pool. What the photos don't reveal is that this little hotel is situated right on the road, but after the safari vehicles have left the park at 6pm the road is remarkably quiet. Dimity offered us lunch on arrival, a delicious Kottu with coconut picked from the garden. Dinner and breakfast too were amazing, some of the best food we'd had in Sri Lanka.
The outlook from the lovely pool was across the fields from under the garden's palm trees. However, the pool area would have benefitted from a fence to screen it off from the parking area within the property and the road. Maybe this will happen once the building work is finished? It could also do with some less broken sun-loungers with cushions. Unlike Yala National Park, Undawalawa seems as if it would be better to do an afternoon safari rather than a morning one as the elephants, spotted deer and birdlife seem to appear later into the day. Also, the driver of your game viewer here will be very much more a "driver" rather than a "guide"
Superfreundliches Personal. Gute Organisation. Gute Lage zum Udawalawe Nationalpark
Einige Zimmer wurden gerade renoviert.
Mooie plek, supervriendelijk personeel, lekker eten!
Gentle staff, cooked BBQ for us, place is very clean and beautiful
The room was basic but clean with good air- conditioning. There was a double bed and a single bed in each room. As a family of five we booked both rooms, which seemed to be the whole hotel. The pool was excellent - it was very refreshing at the end of a hot day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was homecooked and delicious. We booked a game drive through the hotel and the guide-driver was knowledgeable and helpful. He seemed to take us to different parts of the park from the other groups - we saw many crocodiles and elephants. The location was excellent, with only a 15-minute walk to the entrance of Udawalawe National park.
The shower in one of the rooms had low water pressure but the other one was fine.
Very close to safari. Lovely pool. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Welcome drink on arrival. Exceptionally good food. Beautiful garden. Offered tours which looked to be good value, we didn't take this up as our safari was already booked through driver company.
Close to road but noise not intrusive
The hotel managed by Lahiru Prasad is really amazing! They have a beautiful and new structure, that is situated near the entrance of the Udawalaue National Park. The experience there was amazing! We slept in a bungalow with the swimingpool outside. Beds were really comfortable. The Meals there were really tasty and good. For the Dinner we had the chance to choose what to eat (it wasn’t obligatory to eat the same things). The breakfast was really amazing, it was so big that we hadn’t lunch! The cook girl is really good at it!

Loveliest people, staff were so kind. Beautiful place. I loved my time there. Would highly recommend, food was amazing. I felt very looked after.
Friendly family run spot very near Udawalawe National Park. We had the 2x family rooms by the lovely pool and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Chamil and his family were really friendly although had little English. They organised a morning safari for us and a taxi onto our next destination.
There was no menu and although we found the meals tasty, thought they were a bit expensive for what they were and there weren’t many dining options nearby.
Nice fairly new apartment with a great pool that is close to the park entrance, what more could you want. Chamil booked us an amazing safari as well. We also saw some elephants just from the main road.
No shops nearby, but that was not that big an issue with us staying just one night.
- clean ane spacious room - pool was clean - close to the park - the most welcoming and friendly staff

Clean and comfortable. Great pool and generous breakfast.
We booked Walawa Reach for one night as it was really close to the entrance of the safari. There are two rooms and we booked both. The rooms are incredibly clean. They are basic but comfortable and did us perfectly for one night. The pool area was a bonus for our kids, it was warm and very clean. They rated it the best pool out of our trip. The family who run the guest houses are lovely, it was their new year holidays whilst we were there and despite having their own family there for the celebrations, they could not do enough for us, we were collected at 5.30am for our safari and they were already up with a breakfast packed and ready. They stored our luggage until our return and were happy for the kids to use the pool again and us use one of the rooms until our driver collected us again to move on. For the price I could not have booked better, excellent value!
Staff was nice.
Rooms were pretty basic, and in my opinion not a great value for money. In terms of location, there absolutely nothing around the hotel and no choice to eat out (but then, to be fair, if one wants to visit Udawalawe NP, there are not many options, the whole area is not great when it comes to services).
Super close to Udawalawe's national park. They organised our safari really nicely.
We had a power cut and communication could've been better as we didn't have electricity for ours, but I think this was due to language barriers.
It was a beautiful stay & very close to the park. The staff was also very helpful
We loved the location. We watched spotted deer and monkeys in the park which was just the other side of the road from the property. It was also very close to the park entrance which was convenient for an early morning safari. The room was spacious, clean and had a/c and hot water for a shower. The pool was a good size and was sparkling clean. The safari was well organised and had a good driver. We thought the stay was excellent value for money.
fantastic room, beautiful pool , breakfast & evening meal were fabulous , the location was surrounded by wildlife , amazing hotel, wonderful hosts , we have a wonderful time on a jeep safari in the reserve nearby , couldn't fault it
It was really comfortable and the staff, food are really good. The swimming pool was really clean.
There were a couple spiders that went though the crack of the door. Other than that it was a beautiful property
Amazing value for money in a huge clean, air conditioned room. Delicious, huge breakfast too.
Bathroom needs a little bit of work, has a broken toilet seat and cupboard. Very clean though.
Great location for elephant safari. The room was spacious and clean and the bed had a good mosquito net. Very nice clean pool was lovely after travelling round on a jeep. Good food and friendly and attentive staff.
Close to the safari. Lovely home cooked food!
Cleanliness needs to be a bit better.
Very friendly, beautiful cabana's with a nice pool. Recommend staying here and booking a safari.
Room was ok, bathroom not, water everywhere after the shower
The owner was pushy about selling Safari, dinner and breakfast. He was not amused that we did not use these services
Great value for money! We especially enjoyed the pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a day of safari. The location is ideal, very close to the safari entrance, which is a big advantage, even tough all the safari drivers come and pick up the guests in a lot of hotels (further too) The food was also a highlight: the meals were very hearty and quite diverse, which we really appreciated. The couple running the place was extremely friendly, welcoming, and always attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
However, there are a few downsides to mention: the bathroom could have used a tool to help drain the water more easily. The bed was very squeaky, which made sleeping a bit difficult. We also noticed some cobwebs, stains on the sheets, and a torn mosquito net. Additionally, we found the meals a bit expensive compared to the room price, especially since there weren’t many dining options nearby. The owners were well aware that we would likely eat there.
Great location to visit park and arranged great safari. Lovely bungalows with nice pool. Best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka
Pool was great , the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Nothing .
Extremely cheap. Great location 10 minutes from the National Park. Nice pool and comfortable rooms.
Requires cash. Asked if I needed a safari and I said I had one (in writing) and then sent a Jeep for us and was upset. Staff misunderstood. Language barrier. Food was good until we realized there was a cock roach on the plate. My son got really sick that night.
A very nice pool right in front of the room The staff is very nice and they help you organize your safari in the National park, which is super close to the hotel
Great location for safari and swimming pool was lovely. The staff and food were fantastic They also arranged safari for us - very good tour guide provided as well
WiFi connection wasn’t great. Be aware that as you are in the jungle area, there will be bugs and flys in the room. Also when we went to pay the property didn’t have card facilities, so we had to pay cash for stay and safari jeep - ensure you have cash, just in case
Very quiet & private place close to the national park. The owners kindly organized a safari for us, which was very nice. The pool is also great for cooling off. Staff is very friendly.
The breakfast was a little basic, we had better breakfast before for the price.
Amazing place, two bungalows near by the incredible swimming pool ! 🏊🏻♂️ Everything is clean, the staff is lovely, the food was delicious, home made cooking and the portions were huge ! 😋 Nice location if you want to do the safari, they arrange the safari for us, you don’t have to stress your mind. We will come back, a little heaven between the sugar can fields 🥰
Nothing, everything was amazing
My mum and I had a lovely stay! Dinner and breakfast was very generous! They organised a jeep to take us to the national park, just be aware that the jeep just covered the cost of the tour, you then pay the national park entrance fee which was about $50aud per person.
Lovely and clean very kind hosts
I asked every night for the bill as I didn't know how much I was being charged for dinner, breakfast and safari trip.. didn't get it untill the end of stay..A few things I wouldn't have paid for if I had been informed of the he cost
Incredible service, in a suggestive environment, the guys were extremely kind and welcoming; the safari stole our heart, creating an exclusive experience for each one of us. As well the dinner service welcomed us offering a typical starter and dessert!
Really nice rooms, amazing food and nice staff. Good value.
The hotel is amazing, you have a beautiful view and the staff is very very nice, always here if you need anything. You can have diner and you can also book the jeep with the hotel. When it’s very hot, the pool is very refreshing.
We loved the closeness to the national park. Rooms lovely, great staff and very cheap
Nothing
Absolute gem in the mass of all the Udawalawe hotels. Super friendly owner that efficiently organised transport, food and safari at great satisfaction. We rented both cottages with our family of 5, which also meant we had the place and pool to ourselves. Airco functions well, food was good, and pool amazing. With views across the road on the park, you're even able to see elephants from the hotel every now and then!
Nothing. This place is priced very low in our consideration for everything you're getting!
Great swimming pool, curries and staff were awesome
Nothing
Big airy room with comfortable bed and mosquito net. Staff were very friendly and attentive. They organised the safi and a transfer taxi. Room was vet clean and lovely pool.
The pool area was very slippery, I broke my toe!
We only stayed for one night, but we had a wonderful tour in Uduwalala, organised by our very friendly and helpful host. Swimming in the pool war a great refreshment for us. They also helped to organise a transport.
All the things, especially food and room
Nothing
staff was extremely welcoming and supportive. i arrived late and they opened the kitchen and made me dinner. the pool was very well maintained and very clean.
nothing i didn’t like. it was a great experience
We stayed there for two nights and it was definitely worth it. It's far off from everything but close to the entrance of the national park and with the possibility to have the meals in house no big jumps necessary. The rooms were very big with a lot of space and as well huge bathroom, comfortable bed with AC and a sitting area right next to the a little pool they had. It was the perfect place to relax, have some privacy and quiet time and visiting the national park. The in house food was very delicious and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The bungalow had a lot of space and was very clean! The pool right in front of the terrace is simply amazing and the fact that there are only two bungalows makes it very calm as you have the pool almost to yourself. The arranged sunrise safari was one of the best experiences we had in Sri Lanka!
There is still some construction going on, but it didn’t bother us!
Amazing room and with helpful personnel
The place is very nice and the size of the room is huge for two, we didn't expect. Also, the service is good and the food is good since we ordered our dinner and had our breakfast.
This place is just to good to be true! They should increase the price. We loved the spacious room, the giant shower with hot water, the swimmingpool, te view and the meal that they prepared especially for us. It's just a few minutes away from the National park.
The pool. The people were so welcoming and lovely and even threw new years celebrations with food and games! They organised a brilliant safari for us with a great breakfast with a view and our driver was awesome!
Would have liked a fridge, but not essential.
One of the best stays in Sri Lanka. We got very spacious room - the whole challet just for us. It was very nice there. The swimming pool was just amazing. Everything is new and clean and the staff was super nice. They drove us from Ella for half of the price we were offered in Ella. The hotel is close to the national park, you can agree on the safari trip directly in the hotel and they come for you. They also arranged for us a taxi to Mirrisa and managed to rent a bigger car to travel with other travellers for lower price for us. The dinner was sri lankan average, but very big (three courses menu).
