Mountain vibe ella

Unglaublicher Ausblick aus der Unterkunft, tolle Lage auf dem Berg, ein bisschen außerhalb des Ortskerns aber dafür ruhig. Der Gastgeber hat sich um alles gekümmert und war sehr nett und witzig. Frühstück war sehr lecker! Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt! Hoffentlich können wir eines Tages wieder kommen.

Das Zimmer war etwas hellhörig, was aber nicht groß gestört hat.

Eine etwas versteckte aber sehr gut gelegene, voll ausgestatteter Unterkunft mit einem sehr sehr netten und humorvollen Gastgeber. Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel, die Betten sehr bequem und auch die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Die Unterkunft befindet sich wundervoll gelegen etwas oberhalb von Ella in den Bergen, sodass man einen wunderschönen Ausblick hat und Ruhe genießen kann. Shiraz, der Gastgeber, spricht sehr gut Englisch kümmert sich um alle Belange, gibt wertvolle Tipps und organisiert bei Bedarf sehr viel (auch einen Roller wie auch Fahrer wenn man ihn benötigt). Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker ! Wir kommen sehr sehr gerne wieder !

Locatie, uitzicht, vanuit je bed kijk je uit over de bergen. Ontbijt was goed, kamer is ruim, bed comfortabel. Heb veel op het balkon gezeten om te genieten van het uitzicht. En niet te vergeten de fantastische verlichting in de badkamer, rood, groen, blauw of alles! Fantastisch!

Hahaha, de beruchte douchestraal (kamer boven). Maar kon er mijn haar mee wassen!

Un peu retiré du centre, vue incroyable. Très bonne literie et chambre bien décorée avec a disposition sèche cheveux, bouilloire avec thé et café à dispo, serviette, bouteille d’eau. Le petit déjeuner est le plus incroyable et bon du voyage merci encore. L’hôte est super accueillant, et nous a donné des conseils de visite, et s’est occupé de nous louer des scooters mis à dispo au logement. La ville d’Ella est super jolie avec beaucoup d’offre de restauration et boutique. Notre préférée. Le monastère est vraiment à visiter, les cascades, les plantations de thé, Little Adam’s se déplacer en scooter est très facile.

Le bruit des scooters sur la petit route le matin et le soir mais sinon c’est très calme.

Wir waren zwei Nächte im Mountain Vibe. Es liegt ca. 2,5km weg vom Ella Zentrum - was aber mit einem TukTuk gar kein Problem ist. Dafür wird man hier mit einer unglaublichen Aussicht belohnt. Dazu noch das leckere Frühstück von Shiraz (seine Spezialität Sri Lankisches Omlette a la Shiraz). Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und die Betten in Ordnung. Warmes/heißes Wasser in der Dusche. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt und tolle Gespräche mit Shiraz. Danke da Irgendwann wieder. 🙏

Wunderschöner Weitblick und Aussicht auf einen Tempel. Das Zimmer war sauber und ausreichend groß, wir hatten auch einen Wasserkocher für Tee und Kaffee. Das Frühstück war vorzüglich, bisher das allerbeste 🤗 Shiraz unser Host hat uns nicht nur für einen fairen Preis ein TukTuk (seinen Nachbarn) ganztags organisiert, sondern auch Tabak für meine Freundin.👌 Und immer für einen Scherz zu haben. The room was really nice and comfortable. The owner was amazing, really friendly and always ready to help with our requests. He had a scooter that we could rent that was amazing. Much cheaper than paying for a tuktuk every time you want to go somewhere. The breakfast was delicious and filling, with a great view.

We had an amazing stay with Shiraz as our host. He served me and my wife a very delicious breakfast every morning, which was a perfect start to the day. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained. The views from our room were absolutely breathtaking, with stunning mountains all around. Shiraz was also incredibly helpful in arranging a scooter for us, making it easy to explore Ella at our own pace. His warm hospitality truly made our stay special. Highly recommend staying here!

The only thing that could be improved is the water pressure in the shower, which was a bit low, but we managed it without any problem.

Habitación y baño super limpio. Cama muy cómoda. Con todo lo necesario y más. Desayuno muy bueno incluido en el precio, variado y abundante. Vistas super bonitas a las montañas. Anfitrión muy amable. Buena ubicación, alejado del centro del pueblo, sin ruidos de tráfico o gente, aunque el camino para llegar tiene una pendiente considerable. Buenas relación calidad - precio.

Właściciel był miły i pomocny, postara się pomóc, jeśli masz jakieś pytania, załatwi transport i tak dalej. Śniadania były dobre, omlet, coś słodkiego, owoce i kawa lub herbata. Pokój duży, przestronny i dobrze wyposażony, z ładnym widokiem na góry.

Ciężko było ustawić ciepłą wodę, zazwyczaj zimna albo bardzo gorąca, przy zimnej wodzie dobre ciśnienie, przy ciepłej wodzie bardzo słabe ciśnienie, ciężko było się umyć. Pokój znajduje się na szczycie góry, więc często wieje, a dach jest z blachy co powoduje dużo hałasu w nocy.

The views are fantastic. The vibe is great, the owner is very nice and the breakfast is the best we had during our trip in Sri Lanka. The owner arranged scooters for us, so we where able to see a lot of places in the area. The area is also good for enjoying nature and hiking

La stanza ha una vista mozzafiato, ed è uno degli alloggi più puliti e riforniti in cui abbiamo soggiornato. Erano presenti anche l’asciugacapelli e l’adattatore per la presa. Shiraz è molto disponibile e loquace, ci ha fornito degli ottimi consigli su posti da visitare che non avremmo trovato altrimenti. Sicuramente la colazione più buona che abbiamo mangiato. È sconsigliato salire in macchina, visto che la salita per raggiungere la casa è molto ripida ma conta solo qualche gradino da fare a piedi facilmente.

Die Unterkunft war auf unserer Sri Lanka Reise definitiv die Beste! Vor allem, wenn man das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis betrachtet. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, modern und gepflegt. Es waren sogar bereits zwei Adapter vorhanden, falls man diese gebraucht hätte. Der Inhaber war äußerst freundlich und hat uns bei Ankunft sofort einen Kaffee oder einen Tee angeboten. Sein Kaffee mit Ingwer ist wirklich empfehlenswert! Mit ihm konnte man gut plaudern und er hatte hilfreiche Tipps. Sein Frühstück war wirklich unglaublich! Das sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen! Die tolle Aussicht ist dabei noch ein schöner Zusatz. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und würden immer wieder diese Unterkunft wählen.

Meine Schwester und ich haben hier drei Nächte verbracht und waren absolut begeistert. Der Gastgeber ist super freundlich und hat uns immer geholfen. Er hat uns sogar für einen Tag einen TukTuk Fahrer besorgt, der mir uns zu einer Tea Factory und den Diyaluma Falls gefahren ist. Und auch einen Taxifahrer, der uns von Nanuoya nach Tissamaharama fährt. Die Zimmer sind sauber und ausreichend groß, das Frühstück überaus lecker und mehr als genug. Die Aussicht ist toll und man entkommt ein wenig dem Trubel der Stadt😊

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour . Shiraz, le propriétaire , est très sympathique et nous a arrangé de bonnes excursions. La guesthouse se situe sur les hauteurs d Ella à l écart de l agitation de la ville . La vue est magnifique . La chambre est très propre et cosy . shiraz prépare de délicieux petits déjeuners . Bref , je recommande !

We had a wonderful stay! The room was very comfortable, breakfast was fresh and complete with plenty of options, and the host was incredibly friendly—always making sure we were taken care of and even giving us great tips on things to do in the area. Highly recommended!

Shiraz is a great host and made sure we had an amazing time in Ella. He helped with daytrips, travel and had great advise for food options off the beaten track. Our kids loved playing with him. The view is amazing, the rooms are basic but clean and open. The outside terras is a nice place for breakfast or an afternoon drink. Would highly recogment.

I stayed in the downstairs room which was large and bright with big windows and a great view. The bed was comfortable. The excellent breakfast was served on a covered terrace, again with fantastic views across the valley. There were lovely sunsets. It is on top of a hill so a little difficult to access. I had a motorbike so it was easy for me, but if you are relying on tuk-tuks some of them won't go all the way to the top, which leaves you with a short but very steep climb to the accommodation. This would be hard if you have a lot of luggage. Best to contact Shiraz the owner as he can arrange a tuk-tuk to the door. The reward for being on the hill is peace and quiet and a lovely view.

We were there as a family of four, the kids had a downstairs room, the parents an upstairs room. I loved to watch out if the window or sit on the balcony and just gaze into the georgeous greenery… amazing view. Shiraz the host was very caring, prepared and amazing breakfast, answered our very many questions patiently and organized all the drivers for us. It was a cozy home for three days and we loved it. From there we could easyly make all sorts of trips: hike up Ella‘s Rock, trip to an amazing waterfallpool, teafactory, monastery.

Our stay at this BnB was truly exceptional. Shiraz, the owner, was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with. He gave us fantastic recommendations for local food spots and activities that really enhanced our experience. The accommodation itself was spotless and perfectly sized for two people. The view from the place was absolutely breathtaking — we could’ve spent hours just soaking it in. The bathroom was very clean, and we appreciated the small touches like the kettle with tea and coffee for a relaxing drink anytime. But the real standout? The breakfast. Honestly, it was better than what we were served at a resort earlier in our trip — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. This was easily one of the best experiences we had in Sri Lanka, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had such a good stay at mountain vibe. Amazing views and Shiraz is a great host. He helped us to find a sarong and saree for a wedding and gave us a great tip (hint: not in Ella 🤣) Amazing sunsets and close enough to Ella to get there easily but no crazy party noises

The host is very friendly. Views are breathtaking.

Very hard to get there as it is extremely steep. When we visited it was raining and the room got flooded because water was dripping from the roof. On the second day it was raining in the morning so the owner couldn't reach the accomodation so we couldn't get breakfast for 3 hours which disturbed our plans for the day. But we would appreciate better communication about that. Also bathroom is horrible, when you shower everything gets wet! It seriously needs some adaptation. The bed didn't have sheets on blankets, and the bed was pretty small for european standards.

The property is located 2-3Km away from the town of Ella. One needs a tum tuk to reach here. The view from the property is good, but the facilities in the room and service are not upto the mark.

The host is not warm and hospitable. He ghosted us on the day of our checkout, without informing us and later on citing that he was unwell. He wasn’t answering our calls, but answered the call of the lady living next door, and didn’t even show up till we checked out. Not a very hospitable and responsible behaviour

This is an excellent place to say. It's an ideal distance from the busy centre of Ella - not too far, nor too close - so it's peaceful and pleasant. The views from the window are outstanding. Getting a tuk tuk is very easy, particularly with the help of the host. Shiraz is a fantastic host - helpful, friendly and provides a brilliant breakfast. The room was comfortable and cool, with a kettle provided for tea. Thanks again to Shiraz for being such a great host!

The rooms are very well maintained and very comfortable, with exceptional views. For the price you’re paying, you get more than you’re asking for. Shiraz, the host, was very helpful and cordial. Especially the breakfast experience Shiraz prepares is very good.

The hot water pressure was not good in the shower. Also, the location is quite far from town and tuktuks are not very available after dark.

The host was absolutely amazing, he was so laid back and friendly, happy to ask any questions we had and guide us on what to do and how to reach our next stop. Our breakfast was genuinely incredible and we looked forward to it every morning, definitely the best we have had this trip.

A bit far from town, however this makes it a very relaxing place.

It is a very good stay with a delicious breakfast. We slept here for 3 nights. Shiraz also helped us a lot when I was bitten by a street dog. He came to the hospital himself to help us. That felt very nice because everything is different in Sri Lanka. We are very happy that we spent the night here. We recommend this place to everyone.

Behaviour of the host. Totally indifferent. Host was not available in the property at night. Breakfast was not ready till 10 inspite of informing we had a train around 10. When we asked for it he threatened he will cancel the booking NO SHOW & did the same . We were two ladies and I'm a senior citizen and we had a very bad experience there. Bathroom locks broken & didn't close from inside. Totally unpleasant experience and will never recommend for anyone

The place is really lovely with a beautiful view of the hills. The room was nicely decorated and clean, and the breakfast was also very good.

It was a little challenging to get to since it is high up on a hill. It wasn't a big deal, but if someone has mobility issues or if you have a lot of luggage, this might be a hindrance.

Shiraz is the best man in Ella! You can ask him anything and definitely get help: he helped us to find a doctor and literally saved me!

Shiraz is really doing his very best to make his guests feel comfortable. His breakfast was very good and varied. He's serving real Srilankan tea, not just teabags. It's also nice to sit outside at the table, with mountain view. The rooms are clean and the towels smell fresh. You can walk from here through the forest to the Organic Tea Garden, which was a nice experience.

I thought the place would be more quiet. You can still hear the traffic from the road. Of course there is little a host can do about this.

When I read the reviews before booking the room I thought: too good to be true. But it turned out to be true. The room is simple but tastefully decorated. The breakfast is incredibly good., the best I had in years. The most important is the host Shiraz. He sees what his guests need, before they even know it themselves. He has good suggestions to spend time in Ella and surroundings. He arranges tuktuk, taxi, tickets , you name it. Thanks Shiraz!

I loved it!!! It's like in a movie, waking up in the morning with splendid mountain view, fresh air and sounds of nature. Room was well spaced with lots of shelves, very clean and tidy, with comfortable bed and warm blankets. Breakfast was tasty, healthy and colorful. I had a wonderful 3 night stay. The breakfast is very good with lots of fruit and a combination of Sri Lanken and European dishes. While you are having breakfast you enjoy the view and are surrounded by all kinds of beautiful birds. It really is a peaceful place up in the mountain. Shiraz the host is really friendly and chill. He is always ready to help. Would really recommend this place!

Nothing. If you like a beautiful view, a peaceful place away from the Centre and don’t mind to have a little walk to the Centre (or take a tuk tuk), and are not looking for a luxury resort, than this is the perfect place for you ❤️

The view from the property was very nice. The breakfast place was good. In real sense it’s called breakfast with a great view. The first day a splendid breakfast was provided with Sri Lankan traditional items like string hoper and coconut sambal, paratha and egg and local fruits. The room had a good view also. There is a good space to sit and enjoy the view too. The host was helpful. He arranged a packed breakfast for us for the 2nd morning which he provided to us at 6 am as we had to leave for the train journey.

The property is located at a 3 minutes inclined walk that is not accessible by car. The host was helpful and carried our luggage. So it wasn’t a problem for us.

I liked everything. The host is super friendly, respectful, sincere and above all helpful. I really liked the room, it was comfortable and you have beautiful views over the mountains. The breakfast was next level, I already read about it in other reviews but it is even better than expected. It was healthy, nutritious and home made. I would recommend this stay to everyone!

The location is amazing. Spectacular view on the mountains and to a Buddhist temple. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka with a mixture of European and Sri Lankan food. Shiraz was a great host! My friend and I really liked the breakfasts, the ability to rent a moped at the property, and the restaurant basically right across the street from the homestay. The bed was comfortable and the views were wonderful! There was a kettle for hot water, which was nice too.

The view is amazing! We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms are also great and the breakfast has a great variety of fruits. Shiraz is very helpful and kind.

First of all the view is incredible. The room is really nice designed and clean,with a comfortable bed still the great view and even a balcony. I felt home right away. And the host ist so friendly and caring and have very good connections. He was completely organised my visit in the national park Udawalawa and even the transport to my further destination. And also gave me a ride at his scooter in the City and back. At least the breakfast was stauning! I'll really recommend to stay there!

The room is nice, clean and it has an amazing view. The owner is very kind and helpful and he makes the best breakfast - eggs, toast, lots of fresh fruits and he always added some Sri Lanka sweets or snacks. The portions are very generous! The owner also prepared a take away breakfast for us when we wanted to start the day very early. Overall - very good value for money.

The last part of the path is a little steep and can be challenging to access for the first time if you arrive with your own tuk tuk. Once you get used to it, it can be a fun experience. Either way, the owner offered us an alternative parking which was easier to access.

Shiraz was the most incredible host who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay. Breakfast was amazing, the room had everything as stated and the views were incredible. When my partner lost his wallet, Shiraz helped by phoning places where we had been and eventually helped us to find it again! Shiraz also organised a scooter which was delivered and picked up from the hotel for us. Again, Shiraz organised an affordable taxi for us at the end of our stay. Nothing to not like!

This is a small and intimate lodge high up on a mountain slope above Ella, with dramatic views of the surrounding valley and mountain peaks. There are only a few rooms, so there is a strong sense of community. The rooms are simple, the upper floor room I had basic, with high ceiling, a large bed, ensuite bathroom, and lots of natural light. There are a few shelves to put away your things. A generous and good quality breakfast is included. The owner is very involved with the guests, providing whatever help and support they may need. Close to the lodge there is an excellent local-style eatery. One huge appeal of being this far out of town, high up on a hill above town is the sense of privacy and rural solitude more befitting the experience of what Ella should offer - the town of Ella feels like a cruise ship terminal, swamped with tourists.

As the pocket of land gets heavy winds, the upstairs rooms at the lodge can feel like they are in gale force winds, although strangely enough, that is not the case for the main floor rooms! Wifi can drop off. There is no AC - but you don't really need it here.

Shiraz was an amazing host, so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka and the property has stunning views. A walk away from the town or short tuk tuk ride. The rooms were big and comfy beds.

It was a really nice place with a beautiful view. Although it is a bit further from the city. The host was very friendly and enormously helpful. He gave us many tips and helped with everything. He even makes very good breakfast. Definitely recommend.

Shiraz was the most wonderful host. He went out of his way to help organise our journeys, suggested some amazing trips (elephants and even organised basketball for our son in a nearby town with a local team). His breakfasts were lovely and plentiful - lots of fruit, eggs, Sri Lankan touches. The rooms are clean and confortable and he has great plans to make them prettier. The house stands on top of a hill 10 mn away by tuk tuk from Ella. - which we really appreciated. We had 3 rooms so the whole house. It has nice views and is quiet (apart from the wind which was unusually strong and did make a lot of noise in one of the rooms). We heartily recommend staying with Shiraz. He has only been managing this property for one year and as he gets money to renovate it more and more it will go from strength to strength.

The owner Shiraz was very friendly and respectful. He cooked a wonderful and plenty of breakfast for us. He helped us figure out our day's itinerary, helped us get a bike on rent for a good price and over all treated us a guests in the family. The room was as advertised (small but just what was needed), cleanliness was great and there was a small sit out where the breeze and view was amazing.

Nothing to say. There was a very short climb to the place but again Shiraz and his son helped us with the luggage and everything needed.

Very lovely accommodating host, great views & delicious breakfast. Tranquil & private just on the other side of town which feels a lot more local. We truly enjoyed our stay at mountain vibes!

Just something to be aware of is that the aluminium roof picks up a lot of wind in stormy weather which is super noisy and makes it quite rough to sleep then. Unfortunately the wifi wasn't available during our stay there. Also the price difference between the two rooms just for 'the view' we felt was a bit exaggerated.

We had an excellent experience. The breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of options to start the day right. The host was incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this guesthouse and would give it a 5 out of 5 rating.

The location has a beautiful view, the rooms are nicely decorated with a lot of shelves and hanging facilities. We also had a little balcony to relax on. Best breakfast ever! We are missing it now!! And the host, Shiraz was very helpful and kind:)

Nice place with beautiful view from the balcony. Situated in a nice area a away from the busy Ella Town. Ella is in wakeble distance or you can get a Tuktuk for a cheap price. The best off all is the host (Shiraz), he is so friendly and helpful and funnyl. He help us to get good prices for Tuktuks, Laundry, Massages and Transport. Further he preperted really good breakfast, with new options every day.

The bathroom is rather basic but this is normal in this price category.

Shiraz is an excellent host. Whatever you need, he is there to help you. The breakfast that was prepared for us our 3 mornings was absolutely fantastic. The property is located in the mountains with a beautiful view and it’s very peaceful

My only issue was that we did find it quite difficult to get to and from the main town. You could walk down which was ok, but PickMe doesn’t work and so the tuktuk drivers charged us quite a lot everytime we needed to come back to the property

Beatifull mountainview, very friendly boss, delicious breakfast, usefull help by planning activities, nice room and original bathroom with colorfull tiles

Walking uphill from Ella is a good excersise
