In a beautiful setting with superb staff who could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. This included the treatment on arrival by reception through to an outstanding dinner with selected wines ( thank you Bruce and your kind colleague) on Sunday evening. I competed in the Bala Triathlon and used the amazing bathtub afterwards. Also a super conversation with Calum Milne on Monday morning as we left about the Estate, the sheep and the cattle.
Friendly & very helpful staff. Beautiful location
Bfast was good and so was the location.
House keeping needs to improve . So should be the professional approach . you have excellent PR limited to 1-2 persons
Breakfast was great, lovely Hotel fab staff
Bedroom was small but there were bigger rooms
Beautiful country house,in gorgeous quiet valley with beautiful grounds including sculpture walk and walled garden. Staff all friendly, helpful and welcoming. All the rooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard.
Nothing
Le cadre magnifique, l’ambiance du lieu et le dépaysement.
Le service parfois un peu lent et certains détails qui manquaient de soin.
Gareth made us feel welcome from the moment we drove up the drive. We chose to eat at the Bryntrinion Inn and the food was excellent. The rooms were fantastic, the breakfast was equally fantastic. The whole experience was exceptional. We will definitely return.
amazing location and very friendly staff.
one of the best hotels - the porter looked after us from the outset. The stuff made us feel at home, we stayed with our two children and our dog.
nothing
Grand place
No air conditioning but it’s an old building
Lovely grounds, beautiful setting. Loved the grandeur of the property. Staff were all very polite and accommodating to my requests.
It was a very special place.
Due to the hot weather many rooms were unbearably hot forcing us to seek our final evening meal at the nearby pub as the full menu couldn’t be offered on the terrace and we needed something more substantial than a light snack. This wasn’t a great problem but we would have loved to try the food we’d heard so much about other than just the breakfast.
Beautiful hotel with stunning grounds. Very high quality food.
Very poor customer service. Refused entry to breakfast despite arriving just before the end of service. However, the most upsetting issue was the lack of flexibility to accommodate my husband's mobility needs. I asked whether there was a shorter route my husband could take to access the hotel gardens. A particular member of staff was very unhelpful and did not offer any alternative options. It was only later in the day that another member of the team, Megan, suggested that my husband use the staff entrance to the garden, which was a much shorter route. We made sure that we were at breakfast in plenty of time the following day and were promptly served. Breakfast is table service but once we received our order, no-one checked whether we needed anything else. We also had some housekeeping issues in the room. Very disappointing experience for such a beautiful hotel.
Great staff and beautiful building and gardens
Rooms a little pricey
The setting, the nearby pub, the kitchen garden, comfortable room with slipper bath
The shower handle stuck, too much explanation about food at dinner
It was a beautiful building in a peaceful location
Nothing
Tout ! Surtout le tea time !
The breakfast offered a great overall selection reaching all tastes Service was excellent and all staff were friendly and helpful The evening menu in the dining room was outstanding Accommodation was very comfortable and well laid out, we stayed in Penrhyn
Nothing to say here
stunning hotel beautiful grounds impeccable service astonishing food
nothing
The hotel was amazing the staff couldn't do enough for you always had a smile
You could not fault anything
Location, staff, food, the property
The heatwave Wales is experiencing affected my stay as the room on the top floor was very warm as no air conditioning. (Hardly slept & couldn’t hang in the room to enjoy the views ) Also the shower was basically a trickle of water. Everything else was spot on
We loved the traditional style and historic atmosphere. - large rooms, high ceilings, traditional drapery and furniture, etc. The views from the garden are sensational.
The lift was sometimes inoperable because other guests had not closed the access gate properly. This caused difficulty for guests with mobility problems.
Everything. Such high standards and lovely friendly staff.
Words don’t often escape me and I don’t like overdosing on superlatives so - Magnificent architecture and internal decor. Beautifully landscaped gardens with most pleasant walks.
Nothing.
Location, beauty of the estate
Due to climate change I think rooms and suites need Aircon. Breakfast a bit slow due to a la carte ordering. Some items need to be buffet style.
Superb property in amazing location
Nothing
So relaxing amazing staff lovely spa fabulous hotel
The taster menu was not 10/10 and as fabulous as I would have expected- this is genuine feedback. I know you’ll want to get it perfect for all your plans.
History and ambiance
Rooms no Aircon - our room to hot to sleep in by the manager sorted it efficiently by upgrading us to a larger room with fans !!
Beautiful old property, lovingly maintained, well trained staff
Tiny things - no towel or robe hook next to shower, sockets hard to access
Beautiful old building set in stunning countryside. A touch of luxury without being pretentious and the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was probably one of the best meals we've ever had.
The only negative I can say is in the living area of the room the chairs were upright, dining table type chairs. Not very comfy or relaxing to read or relax.
Almost everything about Pale Hall is exceptional. It's a gorgeous, comfortable and very aspirational space. The 1929 Bentley out front kind of set the scene! The outdoor spaces, terrace and gym areas are beyond any ordinary hotel. The food is amazing, both breakfast and dinner. The pub at the end of the driveway, The Bryntirion Inn (which I believe is also under the same ownership) also serves outstanding quality food.
Service are dinner was very slow. There is a tasting menu but we went for the a la carte, and felt that perhaps they were pacing us equally, which meant it took almost 3 hours for a 3 course meal!
Style
Kept central heating on during a heat wave
Staff were amazing, so accommodating and friendly. special shout out to Shaz, Bruce & Ryan. Food sublime. Gardens well attended and beautiful. Farm animals in the grounds were really good to see.
The Pub was not quite so good, staff need to smile more and engage with customers.
Beautiful property, exceptional food and wonderful staff. Highly recommended!
Nothing
Excellent breakfast. Fabulous quality food in a beautiful dining room. The grounds were superb and well kept. We were welcomed by a charming man who showed us to our room.
Pillows could have been a bit better, they weren't the best quality. The bathroom was fine but would have expected a higher standard at this level of hotel. A few extras such as a pool would have been welcome.
Idyllic situation with lovely setting and gardens so tranquil. Staff were very professional but friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding and so worth experiencing. I need a walk in shower so was limited to rooms that had those facilities. The room we had and wonderful views and was very quiet.
We were at the top of the hotel and getting water out of the shower was very slow and not much power , staff said they were aware, the bed in our room was very high so much so stepping stools had been put under it which I certainly needed. The bed head was broken which was noted by George who took us to our room . There was a chair I'm the bar that the bottom was hanging off which was mot a good look.
Fabulous hotel! Great setup. Wonderful service and fabulous food.
The setting is exceptional, with perfectly manicured gardens and decore. The staff is excellent, pro-active and will cater to all the needs in a very familiar yet professional way. You feel at home!
It was slightly hot in the bedroom but it's the downside of old country houses/castles that can't have all the modern comfort (and who can expect very hot weather in Wales anyway!)
Wouaouaoahhhh!!!!
Nada
The food was excellent (breakfast and dinner) and the location in north Wales beautiful.
The Welsh roads.
Lovely property and our fourth stay here. Dinner and breakfast were superb, overall hotel and upgrades made each time we stay show the owners investment.
We stayed in Denbigh this time and it was probably the most disappointing room. Felt like it needed some updating. Didn’t spoil our visit but definitely not as well turned out as the other rooms we have stayed in.
Really lovely building and decorated exceptionally.
The TV was in a little room so you couldn’t watch it in bed. Dinner was very good, staff were amazing but it was very expensive.
Both superb
Bedroom window did not open so I found it to be a little too warm.
Super impressive historical house, backed up friendly and efficient staff and exceptional food.
Nothing
Best property we have ever stayed at. It’s carefully taken cared of and the surroundings grounds are just espectacular. The staff is amazing, we loved all of them and already miss them! Their work is just exquisite. Room was amazing and breakfast one of the best moments of the day! Also would recommend doing the tasting menu, food is amazing. Afternoon tea was a treat as well. 100% recommended, it will always be a special place to us. We are sure we will be back 🩷
Great location, wonderful staff. They gave us a tour, showed us everything, and told us the history of this wonderful place. A wonderful restaurant with a very tasty menu and excellent service.
Beautiful peaceful location. Elegant and comfortable property. Fabulous food and drinks. Helpful and attentive staff.
Nothing
The history and furnishings
Individually these may seem like minor details, but collectively they affected the overall smoothness and comfort of the stay. On arrival, a welcome cake was provided, which was appreciated. However, the tea canister lid had visible stains, and no breakfast menu was available in the room, requiring us to call to request it. On another occasion, we left the room service sign while out, but the room was not attended to after several hours, and we had to follow up. Room service was inconsistent. On the second day, drinks were missing and there was no cover, leaving the food exposed. The toast was served plain, without butter or condiments, which was surprising for a hotel of this standard. A member of staff also stepped onto the newspaper placed outside the door when entering and leaving the room. We had stayed at a B&B prior to this visit, where the service felt more attentive. For those seeking a relaxing getaway, the experience here may not fully meet expectations.
Very lovely property, very well designed
Great stay great retreat loved it !
We liked everything about Pale Hall, excellence All round.
Nothing
From the moment we walked in it felt so cosy and welcoming . The staff were so friendly . We were shown around the wine cellar and the private dining space .. which was fabulous . We then got shown around the art gallery and pottery room by a delightful lady . Our room was immaculate ! We went down to dinner and were treated so well by the bar staff and the Maitre de Maison Josh . It was a perfect stay from start to finish
We loved everything .. and feel that next time we come there will be something new and different to enjoy !
Beautifully decorated

The staff were do friendly and helpful. The decor dancing, food delicious, rooms so comfy.
Nothing!
Beautiful location in Snowdonia area, house is stunning and the grounds are fantastic - a walk around revealed wooden and metal sculptures that were both impressive and fun to find. The people working at Pale Hall were attentive, friendly and informative. We were offered a welcome glass of champagne in the Whiskey Room and a brief tour of the property including the wine cellar where wine tastings can be booked. We indulged in the exquisite 6 course tasting menu during the evening (by Luke Selby, the resident michelin chef) and a wine pairing expertly put together by the sommelier. We had a classic room - roomy, stunning decor, luxurious, spotless and comfortable. Large bottles of water provided - both sparkling and still, together with an ice bucket (filled). And a welcome cake - honey and Penderyn Whiskey with lavender - beautifully presented and delicious. The breakfast was, in our opinion, the best we have eaten in a hotel. We loved our visit (you have probably guessed this by now) and will definitely return.
No complaints whatsoever. I wish we had asked for a list of the wines we tried.
A fabulous place with amazing food and excellent service. Was way beyond expectations, loved every minute
There isn’t anything not to like
Beautiful building and surroundings, cozy communal spaces.
Often reception didn’t answer the phone, bed linen could have been higher quality for the standard of the hotel. The lighting in the room could have been warmer and make it feel cosier in the room.
Staff were outstanding.
Food was excellent although Michelin star dining is not my favourite, would have been happy to pay top price even for less elaborate food.
Grounds and setting hotel decor lovely friendly staff sculpures and art exhibition lovely food
bed in turret room was too soft and kept falking into the middle
The restaurant was fabulous. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Did think the lack of curtains in the suite's lounge was an annoyance. Also the lack of a door closer on the bathroom adjacent to to the Westminster Suite was an annoyance. I do not think the check-in process was appropriate. My wife did not need to be party to the charges for the stay. It was a surprise treat for her. Financial details are to be kept between the receptionist and the bill payer.
Enjoyed setting, nestled in valley/countryside. Good choice of seating & spaces to drink. Bars, including the available whiskeys and cocktails, were enjoyable. Nice touch of complimentary champagne on arrival and chef’s cake in the room. Plus water for onward journey.
Bathroom, in Harlech room, was basic, tired & under maintained. Lukewarm shower, with blocked drain leading to standing water. Shower weak/not powerful, bath overflow broken, and light out over shower/bath. Would recommend check in staff make visitors aware of options available to guest eg sauna/steam, grounds, art exhibition (although newsletter in room, more promotion warranted).
Beautiful hotel, period, antiques and contemporary art works. Setting just wonderful.
Relaxing professional friendly historical and fabulous food
Liked everything
Beautiful historic building, staff were super friendly. Really enjoyed the garden tour to meet the many animals!

This was an exceptional hotel for a very special occasion. The staff were extremely helpful and catered to all our needs.
The bedrooms didn't appear to be 5* however they were clean and comfortable.
The ambience and all staff went the extra mile to make us feel welcome
Incredible location and hotel, staff were amazing and polite, food was incredible

Staff were so friendly helpful and welcoming. Everything was exceptional.
Proper wood fires cracking away, very attentive but inobtrusive staff, proper Welsh country experience
What's not to like?
The breakfast was superb as are the staff, so friendly and welcoming.
Couldn't fault a thing. Paul was so warm and welcoming and the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food was incredible with every course beautifully presented. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
Staff were excellent. Friendly, professional with superb attention to detail and service. Food was spectacular!
poor bacon was hard , fresh fruit salad bland no red fruit. no hot water given with our tea. evening meal potatoe wedges were awful completley over cooked. no garnish or vegtables with the steak , not informed to order side dishes.
Relaxed atmosphere, historic splendour, lush grounds. As a car enthusiast I enjoyed the impressive car display at the front door and reading the book on the Wonder of Wales car rally.
A couple of minor details: the bathroom hot water was lukewarm on the Saturday night but had recovered by Sunday morning; the breakfast tea bags in the room were only decaffeinated (or Earl Grey) on the Sunday morning.
Breakfast was top notch. Staff were brilliant . Lovely south african staff.
There was a electrical humming noise coming into the room. Nothing in our room was causing it. Unfortunately didn't have a good nights sleep.
Красиво
Очень холодно в зимние периоды , нет обогревателя
Location, room, environment, garden all wonderful!
Nothing really, but breakfast was probably the weakest point, good but nothing special.
Excellent staff. A very well maintained hotel with a real luxury feel. The rooms are comfortable clean and well equipped. It's in a good location to access Snowdonia. The grounds are lovely and well maintained too.
Nothing really.
Beautiful setting and building, staff very friendly and welcoming.
