My wife and I spent two wonderful nights in Safronbolu and the hotel was ideal. Close to the town centre with street parking available outside. The breakfast was superb, the owner and staff were so nice and helpful.. Highly recommended.

I really like the view of old city, the hotel soo clean, there is bidet in the toilet, and Efendi and Hanimefendi were so kind to pick up us and drop us again. Breakfast is delicious and you can go around the tourist attractions just by walking. I found this hotel from other peoples review too..you have to stay here to get the best view of Safranbolu old city :) hope to see you again..Teşekkür ederim

We love everything about it!! The location, the room, the amenities, the breakfast, the view…you name it. They get everything covered. They even have washing machine for all the guest to use. They cook you fresh breakfast. Sunny side egg, omelettes, bread, turkish samosa, fries. We love it!! The toilet were super clean and nicely warm also good water flows. Turkiye that time is cold but their room is comfortably warm and we had a very good nite sleep. Overall its an excellent stay 😍

Everything was fantastic. The host Murat went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He even dropped us off at the bus station at the end of our stay. The room was beautiful and the view over the town absolutely stunning. And the breakfast was also delicious, varied and big. A magical little place. We wish we could have stayed longer. Without a doubt, our favourite hotel of our trip in Turkey. Hopefully we will be back one day 😌 Thankyou Murat and good luck with the garden!

The hotel is in a beautiful wooden building with a fantastic view of Safranbolu. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff. Our room had a deck overlooking the old centre of town and was quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with friendly staff.

Shower cubicle is very small although the bathroom itself is huge; Housekeeping service was not provided, not sure if they stated "daily housekeeping" or not. Could hear the upstairs neighbors, but you would need an earplug to sleep anyway because the ezan is exceptionally loud in Safranbolu

We woke each morning to a beautiful full Turkish breakfast with fresh local foods-delicious! The room was well apportioned and looked on to stunning Safronbolu. Easy access to the old town. Highly recommended!

The host was very kind and helpful! He greeted us warmly and even upgraded our room when we arrived after a long bus trip, thanks a lot! The hotel has a great view of the adorable town, and just 5 minutes walk to the old market, very convenient. The room is clean and warm, breakfast is excellent! We can feel that the host is very passionate about life and he spent lots of time at his hotel, we feel the warmness in the detail. Highly recommend this accommodation!!

A very traditional homestay. The boss’s wife is super cordial, friendly and helpful. She bakes very delicious cakes and cookies. She speaks very little English, but Google Translate solves all the problems. Breakfast is extremely good and nicely present. They pick up and send back to bus station when available. Only 5 minutes walk to Safranbolu old town, hundreds of shops and cheap! Tasted the local dumplings and pasty with spinach, yummy.

A charming cozy property with wonderful views of Safranbolu. It is about a five minute walk to the bazaar area for the shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. The property offered an abundant Turkish each morning. The staff was always available to offer suggestions or answer questions. Google translate always assisted us in our conversation; although the host did speak English.

"The breakfast was very nice, and you can choose to sit either indoors or outdoors. If you sit outside, there are many cats that will keep you company, which is delightful. The room we stayed in offered a lovely view of the city, which was also very nice. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The konak is just wonderfull, everything you need The linen is in the old style, like in a museum, so nice! . And the view is amazing. The breakfast is a generous one, eggs in 3 modes, a turkish nice experience. And the host is amazing, everything is for you to feel great. Even he helped us to clean the car. The owner Mohammad is very nice and helpful. It was easy to communicate with him. The room was clean and the Ottoman style is just a once in a lifetime experience. The breakfast was also amazing. The location is just perfect. Three minutes walk to the busy bazzar, but the hotel itself it's at a quiet area.

The location (walking distance to the old town), view, breakfast and the host friendliness are superb. I stayed for 3 nights, the room for the first 2 nights are older, the room for 3rd night is definitely the better one, newer, cleaner, bigger window with mosquito net that prevent inserts and with a shared balcony. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas for breakfast with good view as well. There is a little yard outside the breakfast block facing the mountain which is breathtaking. The host also helped to arrange a day trip to Amasra and offer to send me to the bus station. Besides, free flow of tea and drinking water are provided too.

Everything :D Staff: The owner is so, so friendly. He gave us recommendations on where to eat (Hidden Paradise) and even helped to wash our car before we left as he noticed it was dirty. The owner's wife even prepared delicious desserts that we could take for free, along with free water and tea, at the lounge area. Room: Room was clean with free toiletries provided. Only downsides were that they did not have a wardrobe or hangers, and the room was slightly small. But our room had a queen bed and a single bed so we put our luggage on the single bed. Views: Our room did not have its own balcony but there was a shared balcony just next to it overlooking the city. The sight was amazing and we loved that we could hear nature sounds, the azan and a bit of the live music playing at night. We loved sitting at the balcony and just enjoying the view. Location: Very near the main city centre! We walked everywhere we wanted to go (museum, the markets, Hidden Paradise). Food: Breakfast was great! Typical Turkish breakfast of bread and spreads. They will prepare some cooked veggies, eggs, fries and cheese sticks too.

The boss of the Gunes is very kind, for example guiding us the restaurant etc. The variety of breakfast was praised. The view of room and balcony was very beautiful, and staffs were also kind, for example giving us warm water. The position is close to the center of safeanbolu (about 200~300meters).

Everything was perfect!

The hosts were so friendly, the room was delightful and the breakfast was delicious! We were able to park our hire car right outside the hotel and it was a pleasant 5 minutes stroll into the ancient centre of Safranbolu. Providing free tea in a separate communal room was a nice touch, thank you for a lovely stay.

I found my pillow a bit hard and big which was unfortunate...we are all different, though, because my husband had a really good night's sleep!

I absolutely loved everything about this place! It exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the time we arrived we were greeted by friendly faces and amazing hospitality. We were shown to our room and were told that tea is served at 6pm in the tea room. Our room was the cutest little room with big windows and tons of natural light, which opened up to the most amazing view of the little village! It's on a hill so the view is absolutely breathtaking. We remove our shoes before entering (which I loved, so clean and hygienic!) and keep them in a shoe rack, there are new hotel slippers provided in the room if you don't want to walk around barefoot. The place was immaculate, neat, clean and tidy, the bathroom is very clean and modern and the flowers were such a nice touch! The place is new so everything is really lovely, although I did see the old hotel as well and it's just as nice. We enjoyed our teatime in the tearoom, served with the most delicious cake and biscuits, and the friendliest cat to keep us company! The hosts are very warm and hospitable and treated us like family. There was a balcony outside our room with the same spectacular view which we enjoyed at night too. We asked for a good restaurant and were directed down the road, just a few mins walk away. Tuzcuhan restaurant was lovely as well, and it was located a short walk down the road, also at the entrance of the little market. There is also a masjid (mosque) here which my husband was thrilled about. We strolled through the market and bought little trinkets and some safron, had supper at Tuzcuhan, prayed in the masjid and then made our way back to Gunes Konak Otel. Breakfast in the morning was an absolute treat! We were served the most delicious breakfast of simit, a basket of fresh bread, a variety of cheeses, jams and marmalades (the rose jam is amazing!

I regret only spending 1 night here, really wished we booked 2 nights as this place was absolutely gorgeous!

Very clean. It’s a family run place, so it had a homey feel. The owner was easy to contact on WhatsApp. He was kind enough to pick us up at 2:30am in his own car. View was beautiful and breakfast made by the family was excellent. He also dropped us off at the bus station at 6:30am. Would stay here again.

First the location overlooking the valley (the view!)while being easily accessible; the beautifully renovated building; the tastefully arranged bed room with the surprise of a complete modern bathroom hidden behind a wooden closet; the superb breakfasts; the friendliness of the owner and his staff (and even of the cat!), who went out of his way, offering to drive me in and out to the long-distance bus station; all this made me forget that the weather wasn’t the best!

Mr Murat (the owner) and his family took good care of us throughout our whole stay! Good communication to ensure we safely arrived at Safranbolu bus station and picked us up from there to his guest house for free! The rooms were so comfortable, clean bathroom with good hot water and pressure, the homemade breakfast was so amazing, the facilities are well maintained and free flow of tea at their kitchen/ pantry. The location was perfect which was just 5 min walk downhill to the the Cinci Han area. Safranbolu was so calm and not crowded, and having stayed at Mr Murat’s guest house made our trip so memorable. We definitely enjoyed our stay here.

Facilities are old, room is too small, there are no please to put luggage. Bathroom is very small, very limited space to put your toiletries, shower place is very slippery with water flows towords toilet and sink area, I found bug in bathroom and was bitten on my foot. We lived on 2nd floor and the ceiling floor creaked loudly when 3rd floor guests walked around, We didn't sleep well because the noise.

Actually the location is pretty good that you could take the shot on whole Safranbolu. The hotel is just in front of landmark view. Another thing is their home-made breakfast, like fried egg, lahmacun, fries, cantaloupe and tomatoes. That is special experience you must give it a try to book it!

absolutely everything but if we had to say one thing it would be the breakfasts. a veritable feast every morning to start the day on a good and happy foot. our room was spacious, super-clean with the lovely woodwork on ceiling and doors. and hosts were all such wonderful hospitable people. we had lots of laughs with Google Translate. Marat even gave us a lift to the bus station to buy tickets and then to the new town to change money - somewhere we would never have found by ourselves.
