Ivory Safari Lodge

We really enjoyed our stay at this guest house in Udawalawe. The place was clean, cozy, and surrounded by beautiful green nature. It was a perfect location to relax and enjoy the peaceful environment. The staff provided excellent service and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. The food was tasty and served fresh every time. The safari arrangement was one of the best parts of the trip — well organized, exciting, and a great opportunity to see elephants and wildlife closely. A lovely place with kind hospitality, good food, cleanliness, and an unforgettable safari experience. 🩷

I received a message from the host at 9:00 pm the night before check in asking for me to cancel our reservation. I had received an confirmation and another confirmation of our arrival time.We were left with out a place to stay the night before check in.I was up all night looking for a place to accept us last minute.

On peut presque dire tout...si ce n'est que notre chambre était un peu petite. Le prix bien sûr, 6€ les 2 nuits. Chambre très propre, table de nuit, 2 appliques de lit, bouilloire + café/ thé/crème...Salle de bain très propre, eau chaude et déco originale. Coin table extérieur pour le PdJ super copieux inclus dans le prix de la chambre. Safari très bien organisé et à un prix correct (pour 5h, 20 000 LkR tout compris avec 2 l d'eau, des gâteaux et des bananes). Enfin, Gaya notre loger à été parfait, répondant favorablement à toutes nos demandes sans compter ses nombreuses petites attentions. Un ange. Ah j'oubliais la piscine...un grand plaisir. Je recommande +++ cette étape pour le safari chez Gaya.

No nos pudimos alojar en éste hotel porque llovió y tuvieron problemas de filtraciones. Pero nos realojaron en otro hotel muy cerca. Nos ayudaron con la reserva del safari. Todo perfecto.

Čisté a útulné ubytovanie s bazénom, ktorý sa nachádza oproti cez cestu. Bookovali sme cez nich aj safari, všetko prebehlo hladko a bez problémov, raňajky boli podávané priamo na safari.

Je to blízko hlavnej cesty, a teda v noci sa človek nevyspí kvôli hluku. Na izbe nie je klimatizácia, iba vo forme ventilátora, ktorý bol taktiež hlučný, takže sme ho museli mať v noci vypnutý. Ideálne teda na 1 noc, na prenocovanie kvôli safari.

Such an amazing spot. In the middle of the centre, . Breakfast was amazing and early in the morning there's a lot of wildlife in the backyard! We saw monkeys, lots of birds. amazing spot.

Beautiful, calm and peaceful location just few min from town. Rooms were clean and in excellent condition. enjoyed a lot in pool, we could do a 3 hr safari from their package. could have gone more coz it was fun.

Lovely hotel. just a few min to Udawalawe National Park. The rooms and outdoor area are even nicer in person than they looked in the photos. Staff were absolutely lovely – really friendly and helpful. They also sorted out a brilliant safari for us

This was a great place to stay. The room was basic and nice, safari was booked through the place and there was a pool that was great! Saji, who works there with his family, is a huge help and very friendly!!!

The location is quiet enough to get a good nights sleep (which you’ll need if you’re doing early morning safari). The pool is clean and modern. The room has a remote controlled fan and mossy net. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and Saji went out of his way to make it the best it could be

Perfect place to stay if you're planning a safari in Udawalawa. In the property itself, a safari was organized for us with entrance and jeep driver. Breakfast was included and dinner extra cost. Both were very tasty. The pool is ahead of the road. easy to access

The place was as described and corresponded to the photos. The staff were very friendly. We booked the Full Package Safari through the property and This safari has been an absolute highlight of our trip so far!.

The whole deal with it being so cheap is that you pay for the organized safari. It’s a reasonable price/ at the lower end, but the guide really just is a driver. He’s only telling you the animals‘ name. Nothing more, no facts about the park, the animals or anything for that matter. Just driving. Not much of a safari experience if you ask me…

The swimming pool, delicious food, comfortable bed, beautiful garden, and the stone-paved foot massage bathroom are all excellent. The best host we have ever met, very friendly and helpful with everything. I suggest you take a safari with them because they have very experienced guides and drivers, comfortable jeeps, and we had an excellent safari. Greetings to you, we will meet again.

Excellent in every way. They provide a very comfortable room with a good breakfast for a very small price.I recommend that they give the room at a low price in the hope of running their jeep so get a safari from them and their safari is excellent. The safari guide has a great eagle eyes, he can see hidden animals. I would highly recommended. Thank you Saji for everything. We will definitely come to see you again.

we are a bit disappointed. we left the hostel at 5:30, but we actually got to the park at 6:40. so one hour would be like a “waste”. we waited a very long time for the ticket. they could book the tickets in advance. we drove to the safari from the hostel very slowly, we think to pass the “time”. everything was cool inside the safari. on the way back the same way, we drove very slowly, instead we could have looked for animals longer. for this amount we payed could offer tea and a small snack to each person in the morning or give everyone a small bottle of water. some rooms are not by the pool. you have to walk 1-3 minutes. the pool chairs have no mats. it was very hard and uncomfortable to lie on. we ordered a fruit platter. we paid 800k. for that money there could have been more fruit, there was very less.

The location is great, the views from the room are really good and the staff were so nice and helpful. Ask them about arranging a safari for you, Safari Jeep Entrance ticket including value for money. they saved ours!

First we were not sure about this accommodation because of the low price but when we arrived we were surprised by this lovely hidden accommodation. We stayed there for one night for a safari tour at the next day. We had a delicious, big dinner and great breakfast. The host organized us a great morning safari tour with prefect driver. We would definitively recommend this place and the safari tour.

Hotel arrange our Safari tour price is very reasonable I think it's a lowest price in udawalawe area. Safari tour is perfect we saw many elephants and many other animals. Hotel room big and very clean very beautiful environment we feel Sri Lankan real hospitality and we feel Sri Lankan village life. Very quiet hotel we get best sleep bed performance it's very good big bed linen very clean .we recommend this hotel for everyone. If you visit udawalawe national Park do not miss this hotel. I liked everything! This family it's absolutely beautiful Me and my new friend Anne did a Safari with Saji and we had a chance to see lots of elephants 🐘 and monkey and also a crocodile 🐊 he knows very well Udawalawe! Also, Saji moms cooks extremely well, and it was just delicious, breakfast as well! Thank you and I hope, one day, to see you again!

Very nice location only 30 m in the pool. Room was clean. The owner is very friendly . He help us arranged our Safari tour next day morning . It was amazing. Our Driver Really good person . We saw 1 Leopard and lot of animals . We are really enjoyed here. Highly recommend

We really loved the Safari and guide provided by accommodation. The guide was really next level, he is skilled and explain a lot of wild nature during the trip. The accommodation was tidy and clean, we enjoyed the stay. Also the breakfast and dinners were delicious.
