Mountain Peak Ella

Nice big space and good views. Breakfast was very nice and the bathroom was also nice and spacious.

There was a leech in the room, but other than that we liked it. Was also quite hard to get to, especially with all our bags, but once we found it it was fine.

Highlight of this stay is definitely sunrise, that you can see in front of your room. Owner is helpful and makes good breakfast.

The accommodation was located much further from the city center than indicated on the map. Cars cannot reach the property directly — the last few hundred meters can only be accessed on foot. The road is uneven, full of holes, and feels unsafe, especially when carrying luggage. Additionally, for the last couple of kilometers, the property can only be reached by tuk-tuk, which you have to pay for in full each time. This important information was not mentioned in the listing. The rooms were of average cleanliness, and the ceilings were covered with mold.

Vidunderlig udsigt og overdådig morgenmad! Tip: Når man kommer ned på hovedvejen og skal gå til Ella, så hold øje med smutvejen, som er en lang stentrappe på højre side af vejen. Den kommer efter ca.400 meter. Den sparer en del travetid😉

Jeg savnede aircondition. Vi var der i nogle regnvejrsdage, og værelset blev ret fugtigt. Den gode udsigt skyldes selvfølgelig, at stedet ligger oppe på bjerget. Man skal være godt gående, for at komme de sidste 100 meter op.

Der Gastgeber war sehr hilfsbereit und das Frühstück war lecker.

Really reasonable price. One of the tastiest, most filling breakfasts we've had on this trip. Big room, clean, plenty of space for the four of us and nice patio area outside. WiFi was excellent too, was suitable for working. The host was so friendly and attentive.

It was a little difficult to get to in the evening.

- Je boekt dit hotel voor het uitzicht, en dat was ook prachtig om te zien! - kamer was ruim - badkamer was schoon - personeel was vriendelijk - ontbijt was heerlijk - de eigenaar heeft een goede connectie met een Tuktuk chauffeur. Hierdoor hebben we altijd vervoer gehad en werd er altijd wat voor ons geregeld tegen een prima prijs.

- de weg naar het hotel is wel een uitdaging soms. Wij moesten bij 2 stukken achter de tuktuk aanlopen omdat de tuktuks het niet aankunnen 2 mensen naar boven te rijden. - omdat het op een berg zit is de rit vrij lang ( en dus vrij duur) om naar het centrum op en neer te gaan - kamer en hotel leken nog niet helemaal af.

The owner is AMAZING🙂He is extremely friendly, makes an amazing breakkfast every morning and generaly helps every chance he gets. The rooms are spatious and comfortable and the terrace offers very nice views. You are away from city rumble and feel like you are in the middle of nature. The shower has hot water (just wait a bit,it will come)🙂

The location was a bit from the main road. If you are coming by tuk tuk,there is no problem-he will take you almost to the accomodation. But if youbare traveling by car I would advise you not to go there by car and also be aware, the GPS doesn't take you to the right place. I would reccomend that you leave the car by the main road and walk up (the first day we rented a tuk tuk because of our luggage). We used to park by the main road near Glorious nature inn (GPS finds it easily). There is a rather big paved part near the road where there was always rook to park. From there locate the stairs on the opposite site of the road leading up. They are a bit steap,but you can see monkeys climbing on trees right next to it. When you reach the top of the stairs turn right and walk on, then turn left at Golden view guest Ella (on your right) and keep walking for a bit. The final part is on a paved road. The whole walk takes about 10minites and it is DEFINATELY WORTH IT. Plus it is not hard- we were traveling with our 5year ols girls and they never complained- they were too excited about the nature and monkeys🙂. So if you want a nice view, a great owner and an amazing breakfast that will keep you full most of the day,then choose Mountain peak Ella🙂

We had a great time – the host was very helpful and made us feel right at home. He served tasty dinners and beers on our terrace in the evenings. The place is a bit remote, but he arranged tuk-tuks for us, and the peaceful surroundings made it totally worth it.

The mattress were too hard. The gesthouse was very difficult to access even with a tuk tuk. It was quite difficult to access the city in the evening with small kids. Meals were good but unchanged over the three days. Little bit expensive.

Nice guy who helped us rent a bike and met us at the location. Right at the top of Ella so you can see for miles, be careful getting up to the top, bit of a bumpy road

Really comfortable room, great breakfast, very nice host. Absolutely fantastic panorama view. One thing to account for is that this place is not in a walking distance from the city. While on the map it looks close it is located on the top of the hill. If you are looking for amazing views it is a perfect choice.

Great value in reasonable price. Wonderful owner that made us breakfast at 2.30 a.m. becase we were going early to the next place. Lovely view and quiet.

The access road is a little bumpy and steep with backpacks, however a tuktuk can get you up until the ella red rock accommodation and it is just a 5 minute walk to the accommodation.

Lasantha our host was very welcoming and his breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The room was spotless and the bathroom was the best on our Sri Lankan trip so far. The view was spectacular and it was nice to be away from the busy town of Ella.

Unfortunately being at the top of the mountain peak it was difficult to get to, as cars cannot make it up the steep winding road. Lasantha organized 2 tuk tuks upon arrival to get us to the accom from the road, but there was still a little uphill walk involved at the end. After a day out we were unable to get a tuk tuk willing to take us up the hill and had to walk. The walk is not for the unfit or faint hearted but the views and peace are worth it.

The view was fabulous of Ella and surrounds , the room was clean and comfy, the host was fabulous, he went above and beyond to make us feel at home and made a delicious breaky and dinner .

The walk was great in the sunshine but quite a trek in the rain , tuk tuk didn't like driving to the peak so a small walk to home stay .

I had a brilliant stay here. The room is big, clean, comfortable and very good value. Hot shower, clean sheets, towels and a fan- and really quiet away from city noise. Lasantha is a brilliant host. He served breakfast on the terrace and helped me with laundry, and made me lunch one day. He brought me a kettle so I could make tea. It is right at the top of the maintain with amazing views. I’d recommend getting a scooter to get to and from it and see the best of Ella in the day time… otherwise could be reached by tuk tuk or keen climbers.

To reach to the room is some difficult and because of it, we missed the vibrant night life of Ella main city center..

For this price point it is an excellent place, the host is very kind and prepared delicious breakfasts for us and we even had 1 dinner there! The tea they serve was just delicious! We couldn't find better around SL, it is the way they make it...properly prepared.

Mind you it's is on a very high mountain, this gives nice views but you will need to take a tuk tuk from Ella town 15minutes for around 4USD one way or walk maybe 30minutes minimum! We always took tuk tuk. Rooms are a bit humid so I had to sleep with open windows. Also expect some insects such as ants, or moths - thankfully no mosquitoes at all when we were there !!! As said above for this price its a good deal but don't expect western standard. Overall it was good stay for 3 nights. We enjoyed it.

The way up to the hotel is quite steep so if you are driving yourself you’ll likely have to walk up. It’s a 15 min walk up to the property but the view is worth it :)

You feel you’re reaching something out of the world when you’re on the road to the hotel. From the center of Ella we took a tuk tuk to reach the location guided by the host Udaya that was giving info to the driver. You take a off road up to a mountain and you reach the hotel. The view on top is massive and you can spot the buddist temple not far from it and listen to the prayers on all the valley. The rooms are simple , but clean. The host is gentle and breakfast is local style but good and large. Compared with what we found in a month in Sri Lanka it’s a fair price for that amenity.

Probably the toilette had some problems with few water going down. The paper wasn’t flushing properly.

Just one night in Ella, this accomodation is at the top of the hill. If you want a peaceful and remote location this is stunning. Ideal for seeing the sunrise and being with nature. We hiked up the hill with our backpacks on , a challenge!! All the tuk tuk drivers will drive you up the hill even off roading, great fun. If you decide to walk down take the steps it cuts out the bends and is quicker. Lovely pot of tea on our arrival and a bottle of water in the room. Amazing breakfast with fresh home made cake. Owner can arrange evening meal too. Very reasonable price, compared to other places in Ella.

My stay at the hotel was decent. The view from the room was quite nice, and the room itself was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is located on the outskirts, which made it challenging to reach. Additionally, the food quality was not up to my expectations. If you're looking for a quiet place with good views and don't mind the distance, this hotel might be suitable for you.

After you made it up the mountain (~ 30 mins steep slope by foot from Ella) you can enjoy a really beautiful view from the mountain sitting on your terrace. It is very calm up there, you are surrounded by trees and cute animals like squirrels and birds. The room is spacious and clean. The host was kind and was flexible with regard to breakfast (and dinner) times.

If you don't mind walking all the way up to the accomodation (about 30 mins very steep pathways) or paying about 1500 rupies for a tuctuc this place is for you. If short ways are important to you you might prefer a location not that far to the top of the mountain.

Amazing view from the location. Not to miss the dawn and sunshine times. Lots of birds sing in the morning. At times, mist gets the whole area covered including the terrace. The property owner takes care of food and transportation on a payment basis. Suitable for hiking and enjoying nature. Breakfast was included in the tarrif and it was delicious. The property owner serviced some lunch and dinner ordered by us; tasty and at a reasonable price. The rooms are large and clean. Terrace was my favourite place.

It is on the top of the hill. Only tuktuk can take you there. The property owner supports picking up guests from the main road by a tuktuk. But still, if one cannot walk much, then it is better to avoid this.

It's on a mountain and not every tuktuk is driving up there but you can ask the guy from the hotel for a number from a tuktuk driver who will take you up there

We stayed for 2 nights whilst in Ella and it was in a great location in relation to all the sites. The host was very accommodating and attentive and provided delicious breakfasts and dinners and always made sure we were happy. The road up to the property is quite the adventure but we managed on a scooter. We would recommend getting a Tuktuk up as a car probably won’t make it to the top but can stop a short walk away. This didn’t bother us too much as we were on a scooter so don’t let it put you off! We had lovely views for breakfast and got to watch the sunrise from bed. Would highly recommend this property!

Lasantha is an attentive host who will help fulfill any wishes of the guests. In addition, he cooks well, breakfast and dinner were very tasty. We really liked the equipment of the room, the cleanliness, the view of Ella city, Ella rock. Such a quiet place, definitely worth a few steps. We are happy to recommend this accommodation 👍

From the delightful breakfast to his accommodating nature, including arranging a stay for our driver at short notice, Lasantha proved to be an incredibly helpful and supportive host. staff were excellent in handling our situation. very nice people and hard working.

hotel is not accessible to cars, and requires a walk up a hill which can be difficult for people who are elderly or have health issues, which is not listed on the property. we were moved to another hotel owned by the same person (Ella Camelot) which was pretty bad, rooms were dirty, no fans and imfrsted with bugs, we had almost 50 meru in our bathroom which made it unusable, would not reccomend.

Had a great time spending in ella mountain peak, such a unique place and a magical view, great people who helped me with everything I asked, lovely breakfast and dinner, kind people, beautiful experience 🫶

Lovely place... We feel like at home, they are so kind with us... The breakfast is delicious everyday different (egg, fruit, bread, Sri-Lankan food, tea, good coffee..) The view is really incredible up on the hill, I recommend 100% Lucie Sam Léa Marin from France

The view from top of a hill is amazing, rooms are spacious, clean and have all the necessity, breakfast is huge with range of local or continental food.ot is quiet up there and totally relaxing.

The access to the property is a bit of a nuisance as quite steep and car will not reach the top,so little walking up to the place is required. Good driving skills needed as the road itself is narrow and bumpy but drivable.

We had most amazing stay at Mountain peak Ella. The view is breathtaking, the room was so comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfast! I would highly recommend this place.
