Idyll Cottage Ella

Lovely helpful staff. Hotel tuk tuk was a bonus. The pool is beautiful. Views are stunning especially from the balcony outside our room. Fabulous breakfast of fruits, egg hoppers and curry. Spacious room on the top floor- steep stairs to get to it.

Would be good if the upstairs room had a mosquito net over the bed as the double doors to the outside didn’t quite close properly and allowed the bugs in.

Vriendelijk personeel, prachtig uitzicht.

Raam was kapot naar het balkon. Het raam van de badkamer s alleen een schutter en de deuren naar het balkon kieren, waardoor je veel last hebt van muggen en insecten. Het zwembad water was wat troebel.

Ruime kamer met goeie koeling en airco. Fijne badkamer met warme douche. Zwembad is mooi en uitzicht fantastisch. Centrum is makkelijk te bereiken via de trap dus dat is top! Ontbijt hebben we 1x gehad omdat we de andere 2 dagen al vroeg wat gingen doen. Was uitgebreid en prima!

Zwembad is heel erg koud en bedjes zijn van hout wat niet heel chill ligt. Je hebt soms beestjes in de kamer, vonden wij niet erg maar wel goed om te vermelden.

Beliggenheden i bjergene var fantastisk. Smuk udsigt. Der er en trappesti fra hotellet ned til byen. Fin ren pool. Alle værelser lå godt, med udsigt og terrasse.

Man kan ikke købe mad og drikkevarer på hotellet. Der er et køleskab på værelset, så man skal selv købe ind. Hotellet ligger tæt på byens åbne losseplads. Det lugter fælt, når du kører op til hotellet og når vinden blæser hen over Hotellet.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. Everything was great. We really liked the pool and our room. It was clean, well-maintained, and modern. Every detail was thought out, such as a hair dryer, Wi-Fi, a adapter converter, and a mosquito net.

Hotels in that area are generally located on high ground, so transportation can be a bit challenging; you can't really get up there without a car or tuktuk.

I had a very positive experience at the hotel; they went the extra mile in two ways: they took a bag of dirty clothes and sent it to the laundry for me and provided a free tuk-tuk service, both for free. Great breakfasts. The room was comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend it.

Maybe it's at the top of a hill, you can either walk up a 300 steps stairs or take a tuk-tuk

la nostra camera era all’ultimo piano, aveva una vista su tutta Ella. La porta finestra che dava sul balcone è stata la cosa piu bella del soggiorno, svegliarsi con quella vista non ha prezzo. Piscina molto bella che pero non abbiamo utilizzato. La sera le temperature scendono un po. Bagno moderno e molto carino, c’era acqua calda!! Location sopra la città raggiungibile in 10 min a piedi tramite una scalinata, faticosa ma molto comodo se non volete utilizzare la macchina

la pulizia non è stata il massimo, non tanto nella camera ma quanto giu nella cucina. un po lento il servizio colazione. Wifi un po debole.

We verbleven in Idyll Cottage en hadden de bovenste kamer. Een prachtige, sfeervolle kamer met een mooie open nok en vooral een geweldig uitzicht. We zijn door iedereen erg vriendelijk ontvangen en geholpen. De gastvrijheid merk je hier echt: ze denken graag met je mee en helpen waar nodig. Ook het ontbijt was iedere ochtend netjes en goed verzorgd. Een heel prettig verblijf!

Super goed hotel, het personeel zet een stap extra en het uitzicht is fantastisch! Door de trap (tegenover het hotel) ben je in 10 minuten in Ella centrum. Het hotel helpt bij het regelen van tuktuk en geeft super service!

Amazing, friendly staff that help with everything. Rooms are so lovely, the best I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The pool is also gorgeous, looking over a spectacular view.

The location is up a steep hill but it’s still only 10 minutes away so doesn’t matter and you can always get a Tuk Tuk back!

Prachtig verblijf met een geweldig uitzicht. Heel vriendelijk personeel die je in alle gemakken voorziet en ook naar wens in extra ontbijt voorziet.

De douche was verfrissend koud, werd alleen bij aankomt warm, daarna niet meer.

Toller Blick vom Bett!!!

-die Lage (10 Min. zu Fuß ins Zentrum) und vorallem der Ausblick sind ein Traum -der Garten bietet verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten (auch fürs Frühstück) und ist schön angelegt (Pool haben wir nicht getestet) - das Zimmer war großzügig geschnitten - das Personal war hilfsbereit, hat uns mit den Backpacks geholfen und auch mit dem eigenen TukTuk gefahren sowie den weiteren Transfer organisiert

- das Bett war eher unbequem - im Badezimmer war sehr viel Schimmel an der Decke/Wand - WLAN hat kaum bis garnicht funktioniert

Alles. Der gigantische Ausblick, die Zimmer, der wundervolle Garten und der Pool waren einfach traumhaft. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt verlängert, weil es uns so gefallen hat. Das Personal ist freundlich und immer erreichbar, wenn nötig, aber nicht aufdringlich. Über die Stufen und die Railway ist man sehr schnell im Ortszentrum. Die beste Unterkunft auf unserer Reise bisher.

This place has an absolutely stunning view and it's only a short walk (10 mins or so) into Ella so the location couldn't be better. There's a glorious garden with a swimming pool to have the excellent breakfast. Nothing is too much for the owners - they insisted on helping with our bags

Logement très propre. Super emplacement, avec une vue magnifique. On a passé des heures posés sur la petite terrasse a juste regarder la vue et le coucher du soleil. Personnel très sympa. C'est très calme. C'est pas sur la route principale, ce qui a ses forces et faiblesses.

C'est un peu loin du centre ville. Comptez 15 minutes de marche sur la route, la nuit c'est pas super agreable, surtout que ça grimpe. Sinon faut prendre un tuktuk pour aller et rentrer. Mais c'est le prix a payer pour la jolie vue.

La vie est incroyable depuis les chambres et la piscine. Bon emplacement. Très bon accueil avec de bon conseils. On nous a notamment recommandé Pathu, un super tuk tuk driver qui nous a accompagné sur nos visites aux cascades de Diyaluma et de Little Adam’s Peak. On vous le recommande aussi chaudement.

Tolle Unterkunft mit wunderschönem Blick über die Berglandschaft - besonders vom Balkon und dem Pool aus. Die Lage ist super, da die Stadt gut zu Fuß erreichbar ist und das Hotel zusätzlich ein eigenes Tuktuk besitzt. Das Personal war durchweg freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr zuvorkommend. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Besonders praktisch war außerdem, dass das Hotel unseren Weitertransport zum Flughafen organisiert hat. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Un de nos hôtels préférés, le personnel était parfait, ils nous servent le déjeuner directement sur notre terasse. La vue et la piscine étaient magnifiques. On a adoré l’hotel. Si vous voulez faire du lavage, il y a une petite buanderie à côté et le service était impeccable et pas cher.

You need to walk some stairs to reach the city center, but if you're in good health that shouldn't be an issue, or hiring a tuktuk is very easy

When rainy, it’s can be a challenge to get from hotel to town. Staff doesn’t stay on 24/7 so if you need support outside of regular hours, you’re out of luck. Requires cash payment which I don’t think is advertised.

Todo es espectacular, viajo sola, me sentí segura sin si quiera tener cerrojo. La habitación es preciosa en madera, el destino super completo, y las vistas son espectaculares con una piscina infinita que da a en medio de la selva.

I only stayed the one night but it was a comfortable room with a good breakfast and nice pool with great views!

The hotel location is stunning; high up in the mountains with great views. It's very small (only 4/5 bedrooms so feels very exclusive). It's no more than a 10 minute walk to the main street where the shops and restaurants are but some of it is unlit so take a torch or use your phone light to help. Super quiet hotel with a small pool to relax in but not much space to get the sun/sunbath because of the surrounding trees and shadows. We took our own beach towels so unsure if they provide any. The bedroom was spacious, very minimalist but had everything you needed. The stairs up though are steep and you can easily catch your feet on the metal. The netting on the patio is a cool idea but it's directly above someone else's balcony so not that relaxing and quite uncomfortable! Breakfast was lovely, no menu though so can be seen as a waste if you don't like what they serve (think this is the same for most hotels in Sri Lanka though).

They do not serve alcohol which I didn't realise when booking (they don't have a liquor license) so it was a sad day when we wanted a prosecco in the pool haha!

Idyll Cottage was just amazing. The room was so lovely and clean and the view was outstanding. Having access to the lovely infinity pool was a bonus. The breakfast was amazing. The owners go out of their way to make it the best stay, and were so helpful with arranging our activities and travel. It was so nice to be up on the hill away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk down in 5-10 mins (+ easy to get a tuktuk back if you don't fancy walking up the hill). If you're planning a trip to Ella, this is the perfect spot.

The location was great, only a ten minute walk down into town. Exceptional views over Ella. The pool was very refreshing. Channa was a very hospitable and welcoming person. He was super happy to help. The room was very clean and spacious. Really recommend staying here if you're in Ella.

Great location and a view from the balcony that I could look at for days. Just beautiful. A quiet and peaceful place where the friendly staff were always on hand to help you and make sure you have everything you need to make your stay the best. Amazing little infinity pool to cool down and take in the mountain views. We also had an incredible breakfast served to us in the gardens.

We stayed at Idyll Cottage in Ella for 3 nights and we had an absolutely wonderful time. This place was truly amazing and one of our favorite stays during our trip. The highlights were definitely the incredibly friendly staff and the breathtaking view, which made the whole experience even more special. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and the service was excellent. They could also pick you up and bring you back by tuk-tuk, which was very convenient. We had such a great time here and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella!

L’hôtel est bien situé à Ella, ce qui permet de rejoindre facilement les principaux sites et restaurants. Le petit-déjeuner est correct. Cependant, nous avons été un peu déçus par certains points au vu du prix. La propreté pourrait être améliorée : les tapis dans les chambres sont très usés et ne donnent pas une impression très propre. Durant nos trois nuits, il n’y a eu ni ménage dans la chambre ni changement de serviettes. Par ailleurs, il arrive que l’odeur de la déchèterie située à proximité se fasse sentir jusqu’à l’hôtel, ce qui peut être désagréable par moments. L’établissement reste bien placé, mais le rapport qualité-prix pourrait être amélioré.

The place is amazing. The cottage has a lovely pool which is super nice after a long day or just spend the day there and rest. The rooms are bigger than mentioned and there is a fridge as well. The staff is extremely nice ans helpful, they can help with transportation to the center and back to the hotel if you wish. They also welcomed us with a kind message and congratulated us for our wedding anniversary, which was very thoughtful 😊

The walk into Ella was either down a long, winding, unlit road or down uneven steep steps and along the railway track into town. Definitely need to get tuk tuk back. Bedding and room felt damp, no aircon. There is a public rubbish dump half way down the hill from the hotel the smell from it is so strong at times in the hotel it makes it uncomfortable to sit outside your room.

Hotel jest cudowny! Pokoje duże i przestronne z pięknym widokiem na góry. Położenie jest wyżej niż samo miasto ale nie ma problemu z dostaniem się do centrum na nogach. W zamian jest bardzo spokojnie i cicho z dala od zgiełku centrum. Jest chłodniej dlatego warto wziąć coś cieplejszego szczególnie na noc. Personal jest niesamowicie miły i pomocny a śniadania przepyszne. Szczerze polecam!

Super Aussicht und nettes Personal! Kann es nur empfehlen!

Hele lieve gastheer. Regelt elk moment een tuktuk voor een scherpe prijs. Geeft tips over de omgeving wat er te beleven is. Ontbijt is erg uitgebreid en lekker. Mocht je een aanpassing in het ontbijt willen regelen zij dit direct. De kamers zijn ruim en erg mooi. De accommodatie ligt wel wat hoger op de berg, maar hierdoor heb je een prachtig uitzicht als je wakker wordt in de ochtend.

De wifi werkt wat minder goed. Ligt wat hoger gelegen, waardoor je genoodzaakt bent om met de tuktuk naar de accommodatie te gaan, maar dit kost nauwelijks 2 euro.

Alles war eine Hol-Schuld. Anscheinend keine zweiten Schlüssel für die Zimmer, somit müsse man sagen, wann man das Zimmer gereinigt haben möchte.

Es liegt etwas außerhalb von Ella, aber fußläufig benötigt man max. 10 Minuten bis ins Zentrum (zu allen Geschäften und Lokalen). Zurück haben wir ein Tuk Tuk genommen :-). Das Zimmer inkl. Bad waren schön, vor allem sauber. Der Ausblick vom Zimmer war EIN TRAUM !!!! Für jemanden, der nachts die Ruhe sucht, eignet sich das Idyll Cottage sehr gut. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht und hat uns mit einem köstlichen Frühstück verwöhnt. Außerdem haben sie unsere schweren Koffer (weil wir mehrere Wochen unterwegs waren) über den Garten und die Treppen hochgetragen ! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - DANKESCHÖN!

Wysypisko śmieci w pobliżu:( przez co jak zawieje wiatr zapachy delikatnie mówiąc są średnie, chyba również z tego samego powodu jest strasznie dużo much, co jest irytujące jak jesz śniadanie.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön, wie auch die Aussicht. Jedoch schon etwas abgelegen.
