La casa era pulita, accogliente e dotata di tutti i servizi necessari per un soggiorno confortevole. Un ringraziamento speciale a Mr. Kamal, il governante, una persona davvero gentile, disponibile e premurosa. Ci ha accolti con grande cordialità e si è assicurato che non ci mancasse nulla. È stato un soggiorno breve ma molto piacevole. Consigliamo sicuramente questo alloggio a chi cerca un posto tranquillo e una bella accoglienza a Negombo!

Hygiëne; het was niet goed schoongemaakt. Daarnaast was het putje van de douche verstopt. Drukte in weekendavonden bij het strand, hierdoor ook geluidsoverlast!

Un poco de ruido a la noche por el local de al lado, pero pude dormir de maravilla

The loud noise and music coming from the neighborhood, as well as the light from the windows. We really recommend getting some blackout curtains and cover the window on top of the main door as well

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026De gastheer was heel erg vriendelijk, hielp ons heel goed en was goed bereikbaar. De kamer was erg comfortabel met een heel mooi uitzicht! Veel restaurantjes in de buurt. Geen ontbijt, maar de gastheer kon ons zo in de goede richting wijzen voor een lekker restaurantje.

L’hôte, et le house keeper en particulier, ont fait leur maximum pour m’accueillir de manière anticipée dans les meilleures conditions, avec une serviabilité et une gentillesse exceptionnelles. Chambre double spacieuse, propre, bien équipée. Baignoire exceptionnelle. Logement relativement bien placé. Je recommande les yeux fermés !

Die Zimmer waren riesig, wunderschön eingerichtet und ausgesprochen sauber. Mr. Kamal war unglaublich herzlich und hat sich während unseres Aufenthalts bestens um uns gekümmert. Auch die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer über WhatsApp war schnell, unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Für unseren Start in Sri Lanka hätte es keine bessere Unterkunft geben können. Vielen Dank – wir können die Serena Sand Villa auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen! 🌴😊

It was on the main road so could hear the traffic but to be expected.

Environnement un peu bruyant côté route jusque 23h / 0h avec la proximité de quelques bars et clubs mais rien de trop dérangeant.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Perhaps the nicest and largest room with balcony overlooking the ocean, we stayed in during our 2-1/2 months in Sri Lanka. It’s a great value and a shame we only spent one night, because we had to catch a plane the next day. The manager was extremely gracious. Though breakfast is not offered, he served delicious black coffee and cookies in the morning and also arranged a taxi to the airport. A personal note, we found it most helpful to turn the fan on to circulate the air conditioning.
There really isn’t anything we disliked, but nonetheless, we find worth mentioning, there’s no sign out front identifying the hotel, but the owner did send a WhatsApp with instructions.

Rilwan a été de super bon conseil, aux petits soins tout comme nos hôtes. La chambre est magnifique et confortable tout comme la salle de bain, il n’y a rien à redire ! C’était top ! A seulement 30mn en voiture de l’aéroport. Il y a des restaurants tout le long de la plage et des boutiques côté rue. C’était très plaisant. Merci beaucoup ☺️

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026Beautiful, huge modern room, if anything even even better than it seems in the pictures. Great location right by the beach and with plenty of places to eat and drink very nearby. Great communication from the owner about how to get there and local recommendations. We took a boat trip to Negombo Lagoon from off the beach just a few steps away.
Noise could be an issue as some reviews have pointed out. We only stayed one night and were exhausted after a flight so had no problem sleeping, but at weekends locals may be partying till late on the beach outside.

La chambre aurait pu être plus propre. La baignoire semblait sale. Le restaurant en-dessous est très bruyant (mais s’est arrêté à 22:00). Le housekeeper était très insistant et ne parle pas bien anglais.

Un peu de bruit car musique sur la plage en début de soirée mais rien de vraiment dérangeant. La musique s est arrêtée très tôt. Le quartier est aminé et c est ce qui fait son charme.

Lautes Treiben der benachbarten Lokale war etwas störend.

Reviewed Jan 6, 2026Het verblijf was mooi centraal aan een weg met veel restaurants en winkeltjes. Het is een prima plek om 1 nachtje te blijven om vervolgens door te reizen. De housekeeper (die mij ontvangen heeft) was heel aardig.
In de buurt is een nachtclub waarvan je de muziek hoort in je kamer. Niet zo fijn als je wilt slapen na een lange vlucht…

Communication was excellent from the start, with clear and detailed information provided on how to reach the property, which made our arrival smooth and stress-free. The villa itself is spacious, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean — a perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The guest keeper was incredibly attentive, always available to help and ensuring that everything was taken care of during our stay. Their warm hospitality truly added to the experience. Der Housekeeper hat uns herzlich willkommen geheissen und uns frischen Orangensaft serviert. Die Unterkunft ist auch sehr nahe von vielen Restaurants und Cafés. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025Really nice suite. It was very spacious and comfortable. Mr Kamal who looked after us whilst we stayed was great. Very kind and helpful. The owner was also very helpful when we decided we didn’t want to stay in Negombo for three days.
There is a noisy bar next door but we always travel with loop ear plugs so no issue for us.
