Everything except the reception staff. Only one gentleman at the reception staff was professional and polite and his name is Upul Shantha.

Highly frustrating experience. First, a reception staff member argued about my Genius discount and refused to honor the rate shown on my app. Even after his manager confirmed I should pay the app rate, the staff member remained argumentative. While I spoke Sinhalese and English, he persisted in speaking to the manager in Tamil, which felt dismissive and hindered a resolution. ​Additionally, on our final day, my partner and other guests waited 15 to 20 minutes at reception despite ringing the bell multiple times. She arrived at 10:15 for the free breakfast (available until 10:30), but because the staff was late to show up, they tried to blame her and claim she was late. This level of insubordination and lack of basic hospitality is unacceptable. Management needs to address this behavior..

Very big comfortable room. Everything you need in the room. Staff very helpfull and friendly.

Location is a bit off the buzz. So you have to walk a lot or get a Tuktuk.

The room and the atmosphere was nice as well as the staff very helpful.

There were lots of ants inside the room, pillows were dirty inside the covers, no toiletries and poor English communication.

The place was nice and the roof top is really amazing,the staff is friendly and im really happy about the stay..

Comfortable modern clean hotel with hot shower.

Pool was shaded the whole day so we didn’t use. Breakfast could have been a bit more efficient, with tea only being bought out long after we had eaten our food both days. Location is on quite a busy road far from the beach. Value for money could have been a bit better

Trop bruyant (les gens et le personnel parlent fort et rigolent dans les zones communes, musique forte le matin, bruit de vaisselle…) , tard la nuit et tôt le matin. Surtout si votre chambre est au Rez de chaussée. J’ai dû demander du silence à 2h du matin pour enfin pouvoir dormir.

Due to a misunderstanding they gave my room in front of my face on new year’s eve to someone else. Really unpleasant moment. The local staff tried to save my from not being homeless and cheering me up. 🙏🏾🧘🏻‍♀️

Lugnare än de flesta ställena i Ahangama då det ligger långt ifrån huvudvägen. Personalen var supertrevlig och lyssnade in våra behov.

Vattnet i duschen rann inte bort som det skulle, blev lätt översvämmat. Lakanen var fläckliga och upplevdes smutsiga. Poolen städades på begäran, innan dess var den rätt smutsig. Men bra att de städade ordentligt när vi bad om det. Inte så mysigt i rummet, kall belysning och nästan ingen inredning.

Room was noisy , there was a party going on above my room and I could hear everything , every little noise , stumping , chair dragging , jumping . The road is quite noisy as well not even the ear plugs helped. Room by the pool can be noisy too as the people are coming and going and music is loud too . Sadly the 24/7 reception is not available as stated .

Das Team des Sky House hat uns bestens empfangen. Unser 3 Bettzimmer mit Klimaanlage war großzügig geschnitten und hatte einen eigenen Balkon zum Innenhof mit Poolblick. Es war sauber. Das Sky House ist ein 15 min Walk vom Zentrum Ahangamas entfernt, ist aber zu Fuß oder mit tuktuk einfach machbar. Super Preis Leistungs Verhältnis 👍🏼

A very pleasant stay here, which boasts a very approchable, friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and very comfortable. It's easy to work from the desks in the common areas (at least during low-season when there were not many other guests. The breakfast is quite complete also with more food we could have eaten.

Just point out that breakfast bread could be more fresh.

Locatie was prima. Wel iets verder van de main road maar juist wel lekker. Bed was ook prima.

Het personeel was niet onaardig. 1 jonge man die deed echt alles. Maar sprak slecht Engels. De andere meneer straalde uit dat hij helemaal geen zin had om ook maar iets te doen. Als we wat vroegen, leek het alsof het teveel was. We zijn hier 1 nacht eerder vertrokken. Kamer was oké, wel was het een soort van opslag van. Spullen. (Veel tafels en stoelen)

Room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Lovely to relax by the pool or on the roof terrace.

The ground floor room is located near the reception and dining area, so it tends to be noisy.

We absolutely loved the natural light and spaciousness of the room. The pool was stunning and kept impeccably clean. The staff were incredibly friendly, always attentive and eager to learn and improve – their dedication really stood out. The breakfast was also a lovely touch, adding to the overall great experience.

There wasn't much to complain about, but perhaps more variety in the breakfast options would have been a nice addition.

The rooms wear spacious and the pool was lovely. Nice breakfast every morning with coffee and fruit. Staff were always around and very friendly.

A bit far away from the beach on a busy tuk tuk road. The hotel felt a bit untidy and not finished. We had a room on the first floor. Would have preferred to be upstairs with a balcony.

Its next to a very busy road. There is a lot of noise at night. The wifi is not working at all in the room only at reception which is why I shortened the stay and change the room. I was still asked to pay full amount although I checked out two days before. I understand the non cancellation policy, but I would prefer to be advised that there is no wifi connection. Also they took the key of the room In the morning to clean the room but when I returned in the evening the room was not clean and no toilet paper provided.

i had an amazing time at sky house ahangama on a girls trip with my bestfriend. the staff there made us feel very welcome and safe, especially Nadhi. she took really good care of us. we felt like home there really. the place is extremely nice and clean and i loved the traditional sri lankan breakfasts. they had a lovely celebration for my birthday too! its about an 18 min straight walk to the main beach area and we enjoyed the walk down to the beach also. lovely location. they also have a beautiful terrace with a gorgeous view of ahangama. highly recommend and id definitely come again. thank you for such an amazing new years 🩷

The place was almost perfect. The staff was really helpful and kind, the breakfast was local and very tasty, the place was clean, the swimming pool was very refreshing, the common area was a chill place.

All that we liked the warm welcome by the team, work there from checkin till check out. It was a wonderful experience, we felt so comfort, it's our own world with peaceful vacation. And Mr. Alex, Ms.Nadish,Ms. Imesha all the staff so kind. I can't stop my words just with the staff, the owner of the property, he also was so helpful so kind to his team and therefore you can see the coordination of the crew members there. The rooms were well maintained calm n clean. Njoyed a lot. Thank you SKY HOUSE AHANGAMA.

A/c was not working at all , told them the make it but the front office guy with the beard gave us bullshit answers , doesn’t know how to treat guests as I am a hotelier myself , very bad experience and can’t recomend

Great stay about 1.5km from the town. A great find - no food available unless you notify the staff early in the day.

The place is beautiful and the staff very attentive. They also wear uniform so you can tell who actually works there which is helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Spacious room with air con, ceiling fan, desk, lockable wardrobe, bedside tables, large mirror & hot shower!

It's very clean and new. Lovely swimming pool and shared balcony.

Description of the rooms were not accurate. No kettle ...... Tried to over charge us at check in. Food and drinks VERY expensive.

We booked through booking.com, and the booking was confirmed. We are three friends, all of us women 27 years old. We arrived at the hotel at 2 am. We messaged the hotel about our late arrival at 22 pm four hours before. They didn’t reply. When we got there, they only had one double room available. We had to sleep three people in one double bed this night. The morning after we met the “boss” who blamed us for everything, and he did not even apologize. He wanted us to pay twice the amount that booking.com said, but we said no. After 30 minutes of discussion, we ended up paying a bit more than the amount we got confirmed on booking.com. No compensation for the first night in the double room. After we paid, the boss said “I’m not happy”, turned his back on us and left the reception. And it didn’t stop there. When we got back from the beach the same evening with a smile on our faces, he kept acting childish. He didn’t smile or say hi, but he showed me my Visa card which I forgot to take with me when we checked in this morning, he said “you forgot this” and handed it to me, i said “oh thank you” while I smiled, and then I took the card, but he still kept holding onto it, I had to take it from him with force. Super awkward. And then AGAIN he got offended and tried to teach me how to be polite. The next three days, he didn’t even look at us when we went through the reception. All he gets from this is three women who feel bad, and one bad (and honest) review. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone, only because of his rude and childish behavior. This was way beyond disappointment to be. This whole situation is just wrong on every point, and could easily have been avoided if it wasn’t for this human being who unfortunately happens to be the boss of Sky hotel. The rest of the staff were luckily super cute and positive.

I booked a double room and when I got there they said they were full so I had to share the room with a stranger, arguing that they would upgrade the room I paid for...

Clean and spacious room with good, tasty breakfast offering that changed daily. Great WiFi in our room. Pool is cleaned daily and was refreshing from the heat. Friendly staff who are there to help!

It would be nice if the music in reception from 7:30am could be quieter or not start until later as people are still sleeping at this time.

The hotel is very new and so the room itself - bed, wardrobe, bathroom - were very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Unfortunately, the hotel falsely advertised the room that I received, and I was cheated from the moment I arrived. Firstly, they advertise free hotel shuttle on their booking.com page - I messaged them to book it, and they informed me that that was an error (which they still haven't changed even though the manager said they did) and gave me a number to a taxi to book myself. So I booked my own transport, ok. I arrived to the hotel and we started the checkin process and asked for the wifi code and was informed that my room did not have wifi, even though again the booking.com page states that there is free wifi. This was going to be an issue as I planned to work from my room, so they said I could use the wifi in the lobby and they could put a wifi extender near my room (never did). I booked a room with "terrace and garden views" and was given a room with neither, instead windows facing a busy main road, meaning the room was extremely loud and if I opened the windows it was all the more loud. I paid the bill in Sri Lanka rupees upon check in - they didn't want to let me cancel 1 or 2 of my 3 nights making me feel bad about it because they thought I was an "honest nice person", later realized I had been overcharged, because they tacked on an extra 10% service charge to the booking.com price. I had to argue to get that refunded as they can't just make up whatever price after I have already agreed to a price on booking.com and didn't even get what I reserved (garden view/quiet room, free airport shuttle, wifi, terrace), they said they would refund me "later" in cash. Of course I had to remind them upon checkout, and the manager offered to give me just half of the agreed amount back (!). I had to argue to get the full amount back. In between, there were uncomfortable vibes with the manager. Very bad customer service and being cheated by your own hotel felt really gross. For that, I would never recommend this place.

Friendly and helpful staff worked hard to keep the guests happy. Good breakfast. Excellent location. We would definitely use again when visiting the amazing Ahangama area. Superb value too.

- hotel is pretty new so you can see everything is clean and in good condition, room was very spacious - nice and friendly staff - pretty good location, walking distance to main spots in Ahangama

- kitchen in family room is not actually kitchen, only cupboard and some plates (we were missing at least some cutlery and fridge)

Staff was friendly, the gave me a coconut when I arrived. The room itself is big and well equipped. Nice shower.

Maybe my expectations were too high from seeing the good reviews. My room was located on the ground floor right next to the reception area and that was just awful. Absolutely not soundproof, I could hear everything: screaming kids, people gathering around for breakfast, the staff hanging out constantly... it was never quiet, as if people were standing right next to my bed. I also found a lot of black hairs in the room and on the bed (I'm blonde). Wifi signal in the room non-existent and also bad 4G reception. I think the price is too high given how far it is from Ahangama center (20 mins walking).

We extended our stay several times. Really nice employees, clean room and breakfast. Spacious room and warm water.

Loved how new it was! So fresh. Super clean! Felt like hardly anyone had used everything before me. The shower is INCREDIBLE best pressure and temp I’ve had in 3 weeks of travelling in Sri Lanka. It’s on a main road (but quiet) so really good for a female solo traveller like me!

The Wi-Fi wasn’t amazing I had to hotspot to my phone. The door lock was a bit tricky and temperamental. The breakfast was the worst I’ve had during my trip (been travelling 3 wks and this was my last stop) - it was a coconut pancake and a smoothie which was fine but that was it, it wasn’t filling and I had to get breakfast out of the property. There wasn’t an option to not have breakfast for a cheaper price and there should be because I wouldn’t pay for that breakfast. No fresh tea or coffee either, and there was a weird film and crust in the milk jug. Also, there’s tea making things in the room but no kettle! And there aren’t any sun loungers by the pool which is a bit annoying. Bathroom smelt a bit and didn’t drain very well which was annoying too. Also LOADS of mosquitos, more than anywhere else I’ve stayed - the staff gave me an extra mosquito plug but it didn’t do much

stayed here for over a week after having to move out temporarily from my home, Udi the manager was so helpful and accommodating especially as I came in the first week of the hotel opening. The breakfast was great each day only would suggest maybe changing up the breakfast options some days. I had small issues which were cleared up right away and the whole team made me feel so comfortable and gave me a good escape. Room is so clean and modern and the space at the hotel is very aesthetic and kept on top of tidying. Would definitely recommend again, great customer service and a good standard double room for your money.

The restaurant was not ready at the time I arrived would've liked the option for room service but the hotel was just at opening so I understand.

Brand NEW accomodation!! Amazing value for money!! We were only staying for 2 nights and ended up staying for 5. It was very clean, very comfortable and very spacious. Had a wonderful new A/C and ceiling fan, a comfortable double bed and delightful bathroom. Great location. Couldn’t recommend staying here any higher. We hired a scooter from some wonderful locals working at Marshmallow Cafe and away we went. Driving along the coast to different spots and to and from this wonderful accomodation each day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful at any time. The room was super comfortable and nice, everything is brand new and very clean. We will definitely come back!

My best experience in Sri Lanka ever. The hotel is new, clean and beautiful. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern, with A/C and hot water. Yoga Classes are provided on the rooftop which was very convenient ! The rooftop is fresh and spacious, perfect to practice in the morning or evening. Breakfast was delicious. It's also very close to town but still in a quiet and peaceful environment. The manager and staff are lovely and very helpful, they will help you with anything. I strongly recommend this place to stay in Ahangama.
