Discovery Coron formerly Club Paradise Palawan

The welcome by the staff upon alighting the boat was incredibly warm and immediately helped us relax. The beach was beautiful, the layout of the resort was well planned and the overall atmosphere was one of peace. We loved the movie nights by the pool and the various games available to play across the lounges and outdoor areas. Special mention of the coron tour which was a highlight of our trip. Tour guide Adrin did a remarkable job and we were really pleased. I really liked the feeling that the resort is a part of the community, with the staff being local, and the various strategies the resort has to repay the environment and local communities. Especially, we loved being so close to nature. There were many animal visitors during our stay from large lizards, night herons and the famous fruit bats, not to mention we saw parrot fish and turtles during our snorkeling by the hotel beach. I even heard there were sometimes dugongs

There were a few issues during our stay, when we consider the costs and expectations. On the first day, I fell quite ill and while the resort doctor and staff who responded were amazing, I went back to my room to recover and was woken by housekeeping who told me they could clean the room now or never (usually in a high class resort or hotel you can ask them to come back later but they told me "we can clean now or tomorrow, we can't come back"). The shower room had no ventilation and had some mold growing in the grout. There was a storm one night and while it was nice that the staff came by to set up our room nicely while we were on tour, the terrace chairs were still strewn across the beach where we'd seen them in the morning and not fixed. Although the food was nice (especially the buffet breakfast), the cocktails were quite disappointing considering the price was similar or more than similar quality resorts (e.g. the caipirinha was made with soda and lemons and the Margarita tasted like margarita mix and not fresh juice). Lastly, and it's a small thing, but the Nespresso machine had four coffee pellets offered, with additional being charged to the room. As we were three to the room, and there for 3 nights, it was a bit of a shock to be charged for something most hotels at that caliber offer freely.

The resort was awesome, we had a ocean view room and it was very spacious and had everything you need. The scenery was beautiful and the snorkeling was the best I’ve experienced in the world.

The food was ok but would have liked the buffet breakfast each day (rather than à la carte) but understood it was due to the number of guests. Also a convenient store could have been good to buy a snack.

L'emplacement est exceptionnel, le personnel accueillant et souriant. La plage est superbe et permet de faire de bonnes plongées de snorkeling. Les roussettes mettent une ambiance agréable.

La formation du personnel laisse à désirer. Ils sont vraiment super aimables mais ils faudrait mettre un peu plus d'argent dans la formation. Par exemple ils ne connaissent pas les menus. Le choix des tours en bateau est très limité. Les installations sont vieillottes et ils faudrait les rénover. Les chambres et les salles de bain sont petites (villa sunset). Nous n'avons eu droit qu'à 4 dosettes de café pour 3 et pour 3 nuits, après il faut payer ! Le prix de ka nourriture est exorbitante. Le rapport qualité/prix n'est pas bon.

We absolutely loved our stay at Discovery Coron. It was the perfect start to our Philippines vacation. We stayed in a Sunset Deluxe Villa with breathtaking views, and with the resort being pleasantly quiet in June, it often felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The wildlife made our stay especially memorable. We saw fruit bats, monitor lizards, and incredible sunsets every evening. Snorkeling right off the beach was outstanding, and hiking to Eagle's Point offered beautiful views. One night, we even experienced an amazing lightning storm that lit up the entire sky. The thoughtful touches, including local treats delivered each evening, towel animal creations, and relaxing spa massages, made our stay even more special. The staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout. Our villa was more rustic than luxurious, but the stunning natural setting, views, and peaceful atmosphere more than made up for it. Discovery Coron is ideal for relaxing, snorkeling, diving, and enjoying nature. We would gladly return.

Breakfast was complimentary every day. I love how you can walk out of your room onto the beach and can snorkel right there. The staff here are truly amazing and kind - one of the best reasons to come to the Philippines! My sons went snorkeling and one of the workers volunteered to show them sea life and took pictures. The bartenders and waiters are so attentive it's wonderful.

There are tons of bats here. We stayed in a villa surrounded by many trees and they do get loud every day around 4am. I did not like that they do not have an ATM on sight. I ran out of cash and wanted to tip each person cash. I was unable to do so. It also takes a plane, a shuttle and boat ride to get here. That is about 1 hour and 20 mins or so total. Keep that in mind! Also, my sandal (one only) went missing on my front porch. So weird.

Die Insel ist sehr schön. Die Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in den 2 Restaurants sind eine Abzocke. Gute 80 Euro für ein essen dass ich nicht essen konnte. Da man gezwungen ist dort zu essen hat man keine Wahl. Es gibt fast keine Früchte zum frühstück. Zum hummus - hatte ganze rohe Knoblauchzehen drin. Pomelo Salat hatte caramelisierte Zwiebeln mit Essig. Es werden neue Gebäude-komplexe gebaut ohne die vorhandenen instand zu halten. Abfall wird mit bambuswänden versteckt. Als Raucher muss man jedesmal irgendwo hin laufen um zu rauchen. Also habe ich 3 Tage auf meiner Terrasse verbracht wo ich nach 3 mal fragen dann endlich einen aschenbecher bekommen habe. Ich fühlte mich nicht frei. Würde nicht nochmal hier Buchen.

One of the best vacations we’ve had so far. We didn’t have to go anywhere. Just staying in the island was enough for us.

Ci siamo tornati per il secondo anno consecutivo perché questa struttura ci era piaciuta molto e abbiamo notato dei miglioramenti. il punto di forza è il bellissimo reef che si raggiunge con due bracciate da riva.

La colazione è decisamente migliorabile ed è tutt'ora la nota dolente. La frutta si riduce a scodelline con melone o anguria a pezzi, pochissimi formaggi o affettati, zero scelta di succhi. Se non sei orientale la scelta è veramente esigua e non di buona qualità.

Perfect hotel situated on a perfect island. Our room was everything we waited for and then some more. The beach is great and you can just hang there for hours relaxing, snorkeling, paddling and so on. This was by far the best hotel of our honey moon. The only bad part is that we didn't book for more days (only 04), as this place definitely deserves at least a hole week to be honest. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Les tarifs sont parfois un peu élevés pour les Philippines, notamment pour les excursions que nous avons choisi de ne pas faire (contrairement à d'autres endroits aux Philippines)

Increadable, everthing was perfect or close to from the moment they picked us up from the airport till they dropped us off. We stayed in the sunset villa and the room was beautiful, the bed was incredible, it was clean and so comfortable. It was our honeymoon and they set up the room so beautifully, I cried, it was so special. The island is such an amazing location, to be able to walk from our room into one of the best snorkelling locations in the world was incredible. They make it so easy to enjoy as well with all the free water activities, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling etc. All the staff were friendly and willing to go over and above at all times, from the bar, restaurants and maintenance people everyone was so welcoming and friendly, they really make sure everyone is having a great time. Both the restaurants are great, everything we ate was delicious! I was surprised by the reasonable pricing as well, having such a captured audience i was expecting it to be very pricey but was very reasonable. Incredible experience!

Nothing, everything was awesome. There are some very small things that could make everything even better. A fuller mini bar in the room, like more snacks (maybe Noodles etc) and drinks, and refilled daily. Plus it would have been great to have the restaurants offer "side dishes" of vegetables and salads.

The private beach, with its pristine white sands and clear turquoise waters, complemented the breathtaking sunrise and sunset, creating unforgettable moments. The diverse wildlife added vibrancy to our experience. The attentive staff went above and beyond, making us feel truly cared for and welcome, and our entire stay was exceptionally memorable.

We were excited to try some buko juice, but unfortunately, it wasn't available during our stay.

I liked that the island was secluded

Staff felt bothered when asked for stuff, service took a very long time, food was overpriced (not trying to be cheap but it was a lot), snorkel equipment ran out fast, bar and restaurants close very early, food quality very low, hundreds of bats on the island (huge bats), construction on the island - I feel like I would have been chill with everything but I paid $1000 for 2 nights, and the service, quality, and general vibe was all poor.

Un auténtico paraíso. El entorno natural es espectacular, lleno de vida marina gracias a sus arrecifes, que se encuentran muy cerca de la orilla y en excelente estado de conservación. En tierra, la naturaleza también sorprende, con la presencia de grandes lagartos y los curiosos murciélagos zorro, animales inofensivos que se alimentan de fruta y cuyo vuelo al atardecer es un espectáculo digno de admirar mientras disfrutas de un cóctel en la happy hour. Nos alojamos en una Sunset Villa Deluxe, amplia y muy cómoda, ideal para relajarse y disfrutar del entorno privilegiado. Eso sí, les vendría bien una reforma y algunas mejoras ya que las instalaciones están algo anticuadas. Destacaría especialmente las impresionantes vistas al amanecer y al atardecer, la calidad de la gastronomía en sus restaurantes y servicios como el club de buceo, que completan una experiencia inolvidable. Mención aparte merece el personal: amable, atento y siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Un servicio de 10. Sin duda, volveríamos.

Lo único que no nos gustó fueron la cantidad de mosquitos que había en la habitación. Aunque daban repelente y proporcionaron lámparas, esto no es suficiente. De todas maneras es lo que tiene ir a un lugar metido en la naturaleza¡ Esto resulta finalmente anecdótico entre todo lo positivo que hay en el lugar, pero si eres aprehensivo ante estos molestos insectos tenlo en cuenta¡

The water is unmatched! The little daily luxury touches provided. Not an overcrowded resort. Options to move around the beach with the tide. Although limited number of restaurants , quality offerings of both & not overpriced.

Both pools by 9am were too warm for use. Bathrooms/finishes of the sunset bungalows are tired, possibly being renovated? Only 2 options for eatery’s.

Отличное места для релакса, еда на 4. Птицы, вараны, летучие лисицы, белоснежный пляж и бирюзовое море - потрясающе, конечно. Утром приплывают черепахи, наблюдать за ними и рыбами очень интересно.

L île, l attention du staff sans la réception, la vie aquatique

Les prix chers au restaurant, la réception qui ne veut pas qu on paye plus cher pour avoir un bagalow sur mer parce qu il faudra nettoyer notre chambre, malade à cause de l eau ou des glaçons, ils voulaient nous faire payer un paquet de chips qui était soi-disant ouvert dans notre chambre. Ce n est pas qu une jolie petite île, ils construisent des chambres en plus, il y a donc le bruit des travaux et c est moche à voir.. Et un des 2 restaurants est bruyant et il n y a rien à manger dans l assiette.

Sehr schöne Resort-Anlage und Insel auf der man wunderbar entspannen kann. Alle Mitarbeiter sind äußerst freundlich & zuvorkommend, das Frühstücksbuffet sehr abwechslungsreich & bietet eine große Auswahl. Der Strand, das Meer und das Korallenriff zum schnorcheln auch ein Traum!Wir haben unsere Woche mehr als genossen ! :) definitiv ein Ziel zum Wiederkommen:)

Location was stunning, facilities were great, peaceful retreat, we love the ocean so this was perfect for paddling, swimming, snorkeling and diving.

Reception staff could have been a bit more warming and smile! Maybe a few more beach beds as you had to be up early to get one!

L'île de l'hôtel est paradisiaque. La plage splendide, l'eau turquoise et délicieuse, les poissons multicolores, la vie animal impressionnante, les énormes lézards et chauve-souris géantes (ça gêne certains clients, moi j'ai adoré). C'est moins ennuyeux qu'aux Maldives où à part la vie sous l'eau, les îles sont sans intérêt. Cet hôtel, assez cher tout de même, est le meilleur compromis entre des endroits pas terribles et trop touristiques en bord de plage et des hotels hors de prix. Et il n'y en a pas tant que ça aux Philippines! On passe vite d'un extrême l'autre. J'étais dans une bâtiment donnant sur la mer au dernier étage et la chambre avec balcon/terrasse était parfaite. Les bungalows sur la plages avait l'air très beaux, mais beaucoup plus cher pour un séjour assez long, et il faut aimer être sur sa terrasse et voir quelques personnes passer devant sur la plage. Personnellement je préfère l'intimité. L'hôtel est très bien entretenu. Un très beau buffet de petit déjeuner. L'hôtel, qui dans les commentaires se dégradait, a été repris par un groupe et les choses se sont améliorés. Les restaurants sont très bons, surtout celui de spécialités Philippines. On ne sent pas du tout le monde qu'il peut y avoir, la tranquillité sur la plage est un vrai privilège. Et pour les enfants et ceux qui veulent se baigner en piscine non loin de bars et de la musique, il y a deux bassins. Cet hôtel est idéal pour être en contact avec ce qu'il y a de plus beau aux Philippines, les îles et la nature.

Le groupe qui a repris semble vouloir agrandir l'hotel. A l'origine il n'y avait que les bungalows sur la plage (j'ai discuté avec un habitué qui y séjournait pour la troisième fois), puis un bâtiment sur la mer, et un sur le jardin ont été construits... et ce n'est pas fini! Deux ou trois autres bâtiments sont en construction. Ca ne fait pas de bruit, mais le chantier gâche un peu l'atmosphère de nature. Et ça pose la question du monde supplémentaire sur l'île et dans l'hotel, qui pour l'instant est en équilibre entre pas trop de monde et un bon service.

The location is beautiful – a small private island with a nice house reef (this was one of our main selection criteria), so you can snorkel directly along the beach for many hours. The water temperature of around 30°C makes it even more attractive. We were picked up from the airport by bus and then taken to the island by a private boat. The trip was an attraction itself :) The staff are absolutely amazing. They greet you many times a day, from the reception staff to the gardeners, and everyone is very polite. The reaction time to any problems or requests is remarkable – usually within minutes. You can really experience nature at this resort, starting with the sounds of bats at night, and even komodo dragons walking around the island, which are quite an attraction. There are also pelicans hunting for the food in the restaurant literally eating from your hand, There are lots of natural sounds and many birds. You have plenty of privacy everywhere, and there are no problems finding sunbeds or space on the beach. The island is large enough for nice walks along the beach on the beautiful white sand, it is worthwhile taking a picture with the arriving catamarans especially at the sunset. Majority of rooms are a bit older so do not expect luxury there, but everything is functional. We were glad to stay in the pavilions. The beach bungalows have a great location, but they are also quite old, so in our opinion they are not worth the high price. However there is ongoing construction so there will be new luxury accommodations on the opposite site of the island. The restaurants are rather overpriced compared to the mainland, but the food quality is good and the staff are excellent. There is no evening entertainment. When travelling through Philippines I recommend visiting a resort like this first, this will offset some disappointments that you encounter when travelling inland later.

You only get one key card, but it seems to be standard in the Philippines. The path leading to the viewpoint (about a 10-minute walk) is very dirty, unlike the rest of the resort. It should either be closed or properly cleaned. There also isn’t really much to see from there. We preferred swimming from the beach and enjoying the view of the bays from the water

Sehr schöne Anlage und Zimmer. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Man bekommt während des Tages diverse Snacks und es fehlt an nichts.

Obwohl das Personal an der Bar praktisch nichts zu tun hatte, hatten sie mehrmals unsere Getränke vergessen. Beim bestellen habe sie gesagt, sie bringen die Getränke an den Tisch oder an die Sonnenliegen, jedoch haben sie es dann oft vergessen und man musste wieder zur Bar gehen, um sie nochmals darauf aufmerksam zu machen. Zudem hätten sie die Gäste aktiv fragen können, ob man noch was möchte.

This was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. It was peaceful and rejuvenating. I wish we have stayed at least nights and not just two. You can snorkel from the beach, so sharing a paddle board with friend and taking turns snorkeling was a highlight. Their beef tapa was amazing, the best I had during my trip and the staff was always friendly and helpful. The sunrise hike was harder than I expected due to the terrain but the view was spectacular. You would miss out by not booking.

Quizás el mantenimiento general de las instalaciones esté un poco dejado. "Una mano de pintura" le vendría bien a algunos edificios.

The property location is quite unique with amazing landscape and outstanding beaches and the food served at the restaurant was pretty descent. I still recommend to book this place for 2 or 3 n nights maximum since you are isolated from the main Coron island.

The overall setting of the villas is a bit old and the local staff is not always responsive (especially via WhatsApp) so in order to get what you need you sometimes have to ask a few times. The breakfast is pretty average.

La isla en sí es msravillosa

Si vienes en ferry desde el nido (no suele haber aviones disponibles) perderás una noche de habitación y por supuesto el dinero. Al llegar (día siguiente a tu reserva) tendrás que rogar poder desayunar, incluido en tu donación de la noche anterior y tampoco esperes algo de cariño por su parte al haber perdido esa noche (solo recogen huéspedes hasta las 16:30) Información que no pude ver, quizás sea mi culpa… Por ello le pongo esta nota para que puedan ponerlo o avisar antes de pagar por ello ya que parece como si ganasen con esta política (se aseguran menos saturación de clientes) suponiendo… El hotel no está mal, nos quedamos en las cabañas que dan al sunset, por el día podrás sobrevivir comiendo algo de los restaurantes que teniendo en cuenta que está en una isla paradisíaca no te puedes quejar, pero si vas a quedarte más de 3 noches acabarás rezando salir de allí cuanto antes. Por la noche tendrás hasta que salga de nuevo la luz del día un concierto de los murciélagos XL de la isla, al principio tiene gracia ya que estás tú en su hábitat y tiene que seguir siendo así pero la tercera noche querrás comprar tapones. La fauna variada del hotel es maravillosa y se agradece estar en ese mini safari pero lo dicho si no estás muy acostumbrado más de 3 noches puede resultar incómodo. Hubiéramos agradecido un trato más amigable de parte de la recepción o tener en cuenta lo sucedido. Al final revisa tu cuenta si lo apuntas a tu habitación porque algún consumo no disfrutado se apunta y cobran más por ello.

离科隆主岛不太远，车+船大概一小时，接送机都很顺利。服务很好，路上碰到的工作人员都会跟住客问好，挂上请勿打扰的牌子后会把新的浴巾和水规整地放在门口，省去了再打电话要的麻烦。餐厅只去了国际餐厅，价格大概是外面的两倍但分量可以，人均1000P出头也能吃好吃饱（避开海鲜hhh）。可以在前台预约浮潜，有工作人员带着，近海珊瑚和鱼还算比较丰富，挺好看。

I love the ocean view suites and beach front suites I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel! A huge thanks to Lira for her excellent service—she truly went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Shout out to NotNot and Mang Carding as well for their friendliness and helpfulness during our stay. The breakfast buffet was delightful, and a special thanks to the chef for the incredible dishes. I also have to rave about the food at Sinag Restaurant—it was absolutely the best, every bite was a treat! Overall, from the service to the food, everything exceeded expectations. I can’t wait to come back!

Garden view suite-old needs renovation

Our room was large and comfortable with a great shower. The maid service created animals with towels and made a fuss on my birthday. Overall the staff were courteous.

The fire fish restaurant was carnage at breakfast, the service for dinner was poor. They never cleared plates. At any given time there was lift music of 3 different types playing across the resort. After 3 days we were glad to escape it. It was expensive compared to other places we stayed in 3 weeks

Away from the over tourism in the Philippines. Peaceful and quiet with enough activities to keep you occupied away from the sun. The beach remained to yourself most times. Coral reef on your doorstep is heaven! Stunning destination. Loved Sinag restaurant. The puto bombong!!!! Loved the little gifts throughout the day from treats to face mists.

Isolated from the mainland and not a bad thing. Food expensive and was disappointed by some of the food we had at Firefish. The fried rice was chalky and the pho too salty. Warning needs to be made about stingers and bitey things. Am covered in them and they are very itchy.

This is a real paradise island - soft white sand, blue seas, abundant wildlife. The staff are extremely friendly - the cleaning staff in particular went out of their way to surprise and delight. The Philippine second restaurant (Sinag) had the tastiest local cooking we have found anywhere in the country. For an island resort (always challenging) I was impressed that the Aircon was super cold, the shower strong and hot and the WiFi excellent everywhere I went. You dont appreciate those things until they are absent. We had a (cheaper) room on the Sunrise side of the island - it was large, modern and clean.

Service was sometimes very slow. Activities on the island are somewhat limited, but the available tours tended to be all fully booked. We were told we were booked on the snorkelling with Dugongs tour for our 3rd day but when we went back to the dive centre seemed we had been bumped off by online bookings and there was no further availability for the rest of our stay which was a huge disappointment. [BOOK AHEAD!] Prices (food, drinks) are not low, but also not ridiculous given that everything has to be ferried by boat.

Meyve yarasaları tam tepemizden diğer adaya gidiyordu, onları gözlemlemek çok ayrıcalıklı bir deneyim. Yemek alanına monitör kertenkele ve dev bir balıkçılın ziyaretleri çok ilginç. Filipin yemekleri restoranı çok iyi (geç keşfettik)

Everything and everyone! Great house reef, food delicious, staff friendly and very personable

Everything was great at the hotel but what I really loved was the wildlife, the fruit bats and the lizards not to mention the sealife, It was like snorkelling in an aquarium.

The menu could be more varied.

Sommige delen van het resort zouden een renovatie mogen krijgen maar ik denk dat dit wel in de planning zit.

The property is clearly a 90s resort without much renovation. There was construction details that should be taken care of in the future: the door of the bedroom was difficult to close, it was swollen because of the humidity -i guess-. There was no baseboard across the entire bedroom, and almost all corners were off square. The faucets were in ok condition, but they were installed in a sloppy way. Also, the food. No bueno. Almost everything was bland.

Il ne faut pas oublier que l’hôtel est sur une île et que les aller et venus sont supervisé par les gardes côtes. Si le temps ne le permets pas, vous ne pourrez pas avoir accès à l’hôtel et si vous êtes déjà sur place, vous ne pourrez pas rejoindre la terre ferme pour prendre votre avion…

Discovery Coron is an absolute paradise. The island is stunning, with a beautiful white sandy beach, crystal-clear water, and a lovely coral reef perfect for snorkeling. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, and very clean, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful daily touches — especially the delicious complimentary cookies and treats waiting for us each day. The food was excellent throughout our stay: flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. There is also a large swimming pool, perfect for relaxing while enjoying the incredible surroundings. One of the most unique and unforgettable experiences was seeing the fruit bats resting on the island during the day — absolutely fascinating and magical. For those who enjoy a bit of adventure, hiking to the top of the island is a must. The viewpoint offers breathtaking panoramic views that are well worth the effort. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, always making us feel welcome and well cared for. Discovery Coron is a very special place that combines luxury, nature, and unforgettable experiences. We would happily return anytime.
