Perfectly located charming apartment MAGDALENA HOUSE for true connoisseurs

Location

It was comfortable, in a quiet location but everything was within easy walking distance; station, shops, museums and cafes. It had a small outside area for sitting and eating.

We loved the location, walking distance 20 minutes or less to everything, trains, buses, 2 supermarkets, main square, museums. The bed was comfortable, cooking facilities great and comfortable sofa that was a sunny spot to relax after a day out, with nice outlook to courtyard and church steeple. Mick was a great host.

No hanging space for clothes, wouldn’t be a problem if just staying a few nights, we improvised and used the clothes drying rack.

The property was open and light and airy. There was plenty of space and the kitchen had all the facilities you would need. It was all on one floor and on ground level. No Dutch stairs to try and navigate with heavy bags. The property was close to all the sights and had grocery store options nearby. It was also in a quiet area.

We would have liked to keep the doors to the patio open as the weather was sunny and warm. But that was not possible as local cats like to come and visit. Also we would have liked information on how to use the microwave/oven. We had to check on the internet to figure it out, but once we did it was brilliant.

Nowhere to place shampoos, soap etc whilst having a shower. Gas burners didn’t fully work even with the aid of a lighter. Great access to public transport.

Wat een mooie, rustige locatie in de binnenstad. Op loopafstand van de Grote Markt. Het appartement is gerieflijk, de bedden zijn uitstekend en host Mick is supervriendelijk.

Excellent location in Haarlem, everything was within walking distance. House was great, Mick had aldo put together a wonderful information folder which was very helpful.

Mick offers a comfortable home to inhabit while exploring Haarlem. Great location, quiet, and close to everything. Perfect.

Location. Inviting decor Spacious organisation/ layout. Fully equipped with Air con & heating Double door opening onto a great courtyard with furnishings A remarkable host for whom nothing was too much trouble - assisted us with a major problem over some hours without interfering in any way.

The property was perfectly located near public transportation and restaurants, shopping and cultural sites. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. The WiFi worked great as well as the washer and dryer and kitchen cooking appliances.

This was one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we ever stayed at. Homely, nicely decorated, with every single detail thought out - just perfect. We would be happy to stay there again.

Like everywehere else in the historical towns of the Netherlands, parking a car can be a problem in central Haarlem; however, we got a great piece of advice from the owner on what public car park to use, and moreover, before leaving the car there overnight, we could come by car as close as to the door of the apartment to unload the car and take our stuff into the apartment without any stress.

It was the perfect location and very quiet.

I am someone who likes to keep my back door open. With the problem of cats entering I could not. Perhaps a screen mesh door to allow air in, but not cats.

No place to put suitcases

The location was amazing. We were very, very close to many things in the central city, but it was quiet and calm at the apartment. We were able to select the temperature that we wanted inside the apartment, there was all that I needed to fix breakfast or a meal, the host was very accommodated to any questions And request for suggestions. I could not ask for a better place!

Photos are as in real life. Comfortable for a 6 night stay. Made a few meals but walking distance to the best town in Holland. Easy train access. Bus station to Keukenhof is walking distance. Quiet Street in Altstadt. Many museums. Easy train to Delft. Mick was great with communicating

Magdalena house is a very comfortable place to stay, near the centre of Haarlem, but nice and quiet.. The bed is good and the seating area very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked and there is a good fast WiFi.

Fantastic apartment, right in the centre of Haarlem and close to the shops and a great selection of bars and restaurants. it's modern and stylish and has all the facilities you need and a little more! It's located on a quiet street without traffic and has good central heating if you travel in Winter! Mick is very friendly and accommodating and makes sure you know what you need to know and have what you need to have. The extra touches the apartment has with the decor and furnishings makes it extra special and is very much appreciated! We loved our stay at Magdalena House and will definitely be booking to come here again!

WiFi can be a bit on and off but we found best place was the bedroom to get a signal and it did the trick for what we needed!

Good location to center and bus stops, nice quite area

better lighting in bathroom and over the table when eating, bed was comfortable but very low, getting in and out was a bit difficult when your a senior. A toaster would have been a nice addition

Perfect location, everything was fine

Cosy apartment for a couple with a great back yard that we were able to take advantage of on our last two days. Very nice neighborhood with quiet streets and lots of flower boxes, easy access on foot to all the sights of Haarlem as well as the train station. The kitchen is very compact but we managed to prepare our meals.

I would recommend a bath mat for the shower since the tiles are quite slippery and also a shelf for the soap, shampoo etc. The WIFI is really spotty, it comes and goes.

kitchen is well equipped enabling easy self catering. close to city centre and not too far from train station. apartment was clean and the host was polite and gave clear instructions. apartment was ready early which helped as we arrived earlier than check in time. nice outside area though not private

when travelling I really only need a comfy bed, good wifi and good facilities to make food. though the apartment is modern and has good facilities main concerns were: * the bed is VERY low. basically reaching only mid calf which was very uncomfortable getting in and out of. it also has a wooden frame all around and thus your feet and knees bang into it at night. my husband opted to rather sleep on the couch as it was too uncomfortable in the bed * the outside area is overlooked directly by the neighbours patio and thus not private at all. their patio also overlooks the living room and since it was nice weather they were out there most of the time so we needed to keep the curtains closed and couldnt really use the patio at all * wifi dropped very often and would not connect for long periods of time. we did not report this as we had an esim we could use but this can be a big issue for travellers *no space to unpack and put suitcases. the only closet was used for linen leaving only very low small drawers in the bedroom that was not enough. i would remove the bookcase and rather have space for suitcases or shelves to unpack * the apartment has too many random decor pieces cluttering it. there was no space to put suitcases and I was very scared of forgetting something as with various decor everywhere its easy to overlook something. also took up floor space making the apartment feel crammed *no aircon and apartment is very warm

Mick is a wonderful and caring host, always available and eager to cater to any need. The neighborhood is quiet and yet close to public transportation and supermarkets. Magdalena House is really a home far away from home. Haarlem is a lovely city full of good restaurants or cafes, nice shops, and a vibrant market place on Saturdays.
