Laxsume Guest House Nilaveli

This guest house was really great. The room was clean and spacious. It was 5 minutes from the ocean and there were lots of restaurants and little shops around. Plus, the staff was really accommodating and always ready to help. And - if requested, they serve really delicious breakfast. Highly recommend!

The property is located very near to Nilaveli beach making it very commutable to the beach and the host had organised our tour for the day and it was also very genuine with the guide and people who came along also were really nice, also their food at the property was really nice.

Für den Preis kann man nicht meckern, achten sie aber darauf, ein Zimmer mit Klimaanlage zu buchen, der Ventilator ist laut und in den Zimmern bekommt man die Wärme ansonsten nicht raus. Man versucht dem Schimmelgeruch mit Duftstoffen entgegen zu wirken, was aber nicht gelingt. Da das 2.OG noch gebaut wird, ist es teilweise sehr laut. Die Rollervermietung hat gut funktioniert.

Condizioni igieniche davvero scarse. Pavimenti pieni di olio. Mal tenuto. Non posso credere che le recensioni su questa struttura trovate online siano reali. Sanitari distrutti e pieni di calcare. Ok la tariffa ma l’igiene è il minimo.

Personnel très gentil, attentionné et serviable. Comme nous étions malades, nous n'avons passé que deux nuits et ils ont été très compréhensifs.

L'odeur de la salle de bain nous a incommodé, les draps n'étaient pas très propres, les travaux à côté nous ont dérangé mais probablement aussi parce que nous étions malades.

La stanza era molto semplice, pulita e silenziosa. Molto gentili i signori del ristorante, dove abbiamo sempre fatto colazione. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. La spiaggia e' a 10 minuti a piedi.

Ogni tanto arrivava un po' di odore dal bagno, ma si risolveva chiudendo la porta.

THIS REVIEW WAS SOLICITED Clean, quiet, close to the beach, strong AC — perfect for what I needed; even stayed an extra night! The woman running the restaurant next door deserves special mention; her hospitality made my stay!

The host I dealt with was transactional, cold and borderline rude. Before even saying hello he opened with “I sent you a message and you didn’t reply…” (I did reply, he had my booking confused with another patron…) I didn’t want warm and fuzzy hospitality so I didn’t mind, but if that’s what you’re after it could disappoint. The kicker is after I pay, no “safe travels” “all the best for your onward journey” just “good review, yeah?” 🤷‍♂️

Co nás velice překvapilo byl poměrně velký chemický zápach z pokoje a nedal se vyvětrat. Hostitel vypadal, že nemá zájem nic řešit.

Very well-located to the beach and restaurants nearby and next door to the dive company that takes tours to Pigeon Island. Good value for money.

The wifi did work well for a day but then had a problem and stopped working, which was an issue for me. I think it was an area-wide issue and on a Sunday in a small village, so there wasn't realistically much the guest house could do, but if you need reliable internet, maybe bring it with you. Inexplicably, there was a dinner table DIRECTLY outside my room door (there was a lot of space available that wouldn't have been near a guest's room) where it sounded like a large family sat very early one morning and woke me up muuuch earlier than desired. Like all other guest house reviews for Sri Lanka, having netting over the windows so they can open and let fresh air in would be an excellent addition. Everything else was very good, considering the price.

Stället var halvt färdigbyggt, ägare inte den skönaste. Mycket litet rum. Märkligt täcke? Badrummet luktade lite.

Хорошее расположение, рядом несколько кафе, хороший массажный салон, пляж также в шаговой доступности. Останавливалась на пару дней, очент приветливый персонал, а хозяин даже отвез до следующего пункта остановки по более выгодной цене.

Good value for money, great location, amazing restaurant and the owner is a very helpful person. Clean and new furniture.

Stuffy air (not recommend for people with asthma or sensitivity to bad air), some of the bedding was not in good condition anymore. Shower heater did not work and was broken which led me to getting electrocuted really bad in the shower. It was a bit of safety issue.

The property was great, good location with a short walk to Nilaveli beach. Rooms were newly built or recently refurbished and the beds were comfortable. A small store just opposite the property for quick essentials and the hotel includes a restaurant. The food and service was perfect and accommodated all our needs. The host was friendly and was more than happy to accommodate our requests and answer any questions we had.

Die nahe Lage zum Strand, es ist ruhig, die Klimaanlage funktioniert gut. Auf Nachfrage wurden Probleme behoben.

Die Küche ist sehr dreckig und es sind 2 Teller vorhanden, sonst nichts. Der Kühlschrank ist in Ordnung. Das Bad stinkt und die Armaturen sind in die Jahre gekommen. Außerdem ist der Wasserdruck schlecht und es ist sehr nervtötend, bis das Warmwasser endlich funktioniert. Man fühlt sich dort nicht wirklich willkommen, der Gastgeber ist immer sehr im Stress und man fühlt sich als zusätzliche Belastung für ihn.

Zuallererst muss ich hervorheben, wie positiv überrascht wir von der Kommunikation mit dem Manager waren. Er hat immer sofort geantwortet und war zur Stelle, wenn man ihn brauchte. Außerdem durften wir auch früher einchecken, als geplant. Das Zimmer hatte die perfekte Größe und war weitestgehend auch sauber. Der Strand ist fußläufig zu erreichen, aber man kann sich vor Ort auch einen Roller mieten und mit diesem Trincomalee (etwa 25 Minuten entfernt) und weitere, fernere, Strände erkunden. Einen Supermarkt gibt es auch in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wasser kann man auch im Restaurant nebenan kaufen. Zudem hat uns auch das Restaurant sehr angesprochen. Da gibt es das beste Egg Kothu. Vielen Dank insbesondere auch von Spicy Man!

Die Dusche war zum Teil nicht so sauber wie erhofft. An den Rändern gab es ein paar schwarze Ablagerungen (wir sind von Schimmel ausgegangen). Zudem hat uns leider auch Handseife gefehlt. Kleinere Mängel über die man bei einem kürzeren Aufenthalt auf jeden Fall hinwegsehen kann

The owner was so helpful. They have just opened a restaurant next to the hostel so you can enjoy breakfast or whatever you need. It's just 10' walking to Nilaveli beach.

Good location, road was a bit bumpy. Overall the rooms were good and comfy.

Rooms were smelly, it was unbearable, it was coming from the toilets. We had to keep the windows open several times. Other then that if you want to buy food, I recommend going to town for cheaper food. The prices are insane in the area.

Just a 10-minute walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach, which has a nice beach bar and restaurant where you can rent out beds & parasols. - Had everything we needed for our 4-night stay. - Responsive host, who is always willing to help and tries to fix whatever issues you point out. - Small 'restaurant' at the guesthouse as well Overall: For the price, you can't beat this place. The minor issues are easy to overlook, and we would definitely recommend it to other travelers on a budget.

- Bathroom was a bit unappealing and had a gutter smell. The shower also didn't drain well and the water pressure was low. - Slow wifi. - Breakfast was nothing special. - Woken up around 8 AM one day to loud construction work in the guesthouse.

It seemed like the main host was in the hospital when we came. The other host cared a lot, asked many times if we needed something. Great location, walking distance to supermarket, bus stop, beach and many restaurants. Quiet at night. Floor was clean, apart from under the bed. Ac works well. Huge room.

Not as personal as other stays in Sri Lanka. We were missing blankets in the beginning, however the host quickly fixed it. More space to dry the beach towels and bathing clothes would be great. Bathroom is not the best, one shower door was missing so the floor gets wet, they didn't supply a floor towel. Also no products are supplied, not even handsoap which we found a bit strange, no problem for backpackers but for others could be an issue. Warm water heater didn't really work, even after host explained it to us. We had the same heater in different accomodation and it was no problem, so we had to shower cold or constantly keep pressing the pump button to get a few seconds of warm water. Also it smells very strongly like sewage in the bathroom. There is no curtain for the bathroom glass door, so it gets really bright early in the morning. The host woke us up at 7:30 am on the day we left because he had to go to the hospital again, which was not great. Also he was very pushy about giving a positive review

It was a nice stay. The bathroom and room were very spacious. The location is absolutely perfect: there are plenty of affordable restaurants and the beach is just a few minutes walk away. The owner was even so nice to drop me off at the bus station when leaving. I recommend!

I took non A/C room, which was very spacious and clean. There is a kitchen and common space perfect for working. WiFi is very reliable and fast. The owner is very nice and ready to help. The location is perfect. Opposite the house there is a small shop.

The bathroom smelled extremely like sewage. I presume the bathroom facilities do not have a siphon that blocks the sewage smell.

There is a lot of space in the hall and in the room. It’s five minutes walk from the beach on the one side and from the main road on the other side. There is food city supermarket near by.

It was a very clean and comfortable place. It is very close to the beach and the road is easy and quick to reach.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Being close to the sea is one of the reasons I like this.

Laxsume Guest House was a great find for our stay in Nilaveli! It’s just about 500–700 meters from the beautiful Nilaveli Beach, making beach access super easy. Plus, it’s surrounded by plenty of restaurants, so finding food was never a problem. The guest house itself is new, clean, and cozy—perfect for a relaxing stay. The bathrooms were especially nice and clean, which we really appreciated. The owner is extremely helpful and always ready to assist. He even recommended good spots for breakfast and dinner, which turned out to be great choices! This place is ideal for families or groups of friends looking for comfort and convenience. There’s also a small restaurant on the premises currently under construction—looking forward to seeing it open on our next visit!

Review for Guesthouse in Trinco I recently stayed at this guesthouse in Trinco and had a pleasant experience. The property was reasonably clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the stay even more enjoyable. The location is great, making it convenient for exploring the area. It’s excellent value for money, offering a comfortable stay without breaking the budget. Overall, I would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Trinco. Nice hotel close to the beach with very friendly owner. He look after things well and are very keen to help. Beach is fabulous 🏖️. At the time we visited there was no trash at all. A perfect beach getaway in Trinco. We had an amazing time and it was a truly wonderful experience overall.

Pretty much standard guest house with higher than average rates. Despite it being new, and the construction was still ongoing in the second floor, the room looked already old, walls stained from humidity. The WC was so old, it looked like they found it on the street. On the other hand it had an electrical hot water unit looked like the newest model on the market. Simply not understandable. Generally Trinco/Nilaveli area has higher rates and worse quality compared to other parts in Sri Lanka.

Probably cheap building material is used that the rooms suffer from humidity already. It worked but I didn’t really enjoy the place and would not return.

The Laxsume Guest house was great value for money and the host was incredibly helpful - sorting tuktuks, tours, food, any issues etc. The guest house is a 2 minute walk from a pigeon island tour meeting point - highly recommend doing that and dolphin watching if you get chance. Lovely restaurants nearby too.

Very nice facilities, nice room with a good air condition, WiFi working good, and location was in a nice quiet area in a walking distance from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us with scooter rental and tour arrangements for a very reasonable price.

Quick and easy contact with the owner. We could check in earlier and leave our bagage when we checked out for a day at the beach. 10/10 would book again!
