There were a few positives: the beds were comfortable with clean linen, the room had a fridge and microwave, the shower had great water pressure, and the TV included a streaming service which was appreciated. Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our stay. The swimming pool was green and not usable, despite recent social media posts showing a clear blue pool. A loose bathroom basin tap with no opening mechanism was reported but never fixed. Milk was provided on arrival, but the bottle was already open, half full, and sour; it was only replaced two days later. A large shared bottle of shower gel was supplied, which felt unhygienic. The electric fencing on the walls appears broken and rusted, and the outdoor areas look very different from the advertised photos. The paved walkway to the rooms is gone and replaced with a sand/ground path. The air conditioner struggled to cool the room even on the lowest setting. On arrival, the staff member opened the room but didn’t explain any facilities or how things work. Parking is very limited and cramped, with only about six spots available, and one of the bays blocks the walkway to the rooms when in use. We considered cancelling on the first day, but the cancellation policy indicated that no refund would be given, even though the property did not match what was advertised. We specifically chose this accommodation because of the expected high temperatures and the advertised pool, safety, and air conditioning, which unfortunately were the biggest disappointments during our stay.

Not enough towels - 1 to be precise Rooms don't look like pictures Outside rooms look inferior and like backrooms. No tiling or paving so when it rains it's muddy. Once again had to ask for refills on tea etc

Reviewed Nov 16, 2025The host is the best I've come across and I've stayed at DaVinci hotel. She is generous and clearly passionate about hospitality. The location is very safe, the room is big, the bathroom is big and one of the most beautiful bathrooms I've seen with pristine tiles. They offer a shower and bathtub which are both world class. The room has all the amenities you need like a fridge, microwave and air-conditioner. The television swerves so you can watch it while taking a bath. The host is so generous that she gives you all brand flakes, milk, cutlery, tea, coffee, bowls, plates and a study for work. She's the greatest of all time (GOAT).
There is nothing not to like. She's the best host ever.

Reviewed Nov 13, 2025Safe place to stay Very secure Comfortable upper class vibes ..fridge, kettle, aircon etc. In total, 3 gates before you get the actual guesthouse. 1st = neighborhood. 2nd = the small estate. 3rd = the house gate.
Joburg doesn't feel too safe at night to go outside the safe perimeters of the guesthouse & estate.

Qu’il soit mentionné petit déjeuner compris alors qu’il ne s’agit que d’une bouilloire avec des sachets de café, thé et sucre ainsi que d’un pot de céréales… Donc voyez avec eux pour retirer cette mention de petit déjeuner car j’ai fait plusieurs guests house en Afrique et je peux vous dire qu’en général leurs petits déjeuners sont impeccables
