We had an amazing stay! The houseboat was fully equipped with everything we needed, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The hosts were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made the experience even more special. I would highly recommend this houseboat to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

Ahhh it was amazing everything about it!!! The view was beautiful, we enjoyed kayaking to all the surrounding places while fishing, and the little beach close to the rapids, was just... I don't have words. We loved playing the card games, and they gave us coffy and hot chocolate, and ohh my word, the Cocktails was on another level. They had water bottels on the boat, which shows they pay attention the the guests needs, and there is more space than you would think btw. We will definitely be coming back soon!!! Definitely the best place I have stayed at, by far!

Everything was so perfect

Our stay on the Baby Blue Houseboat was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Romel and Dee made us feel incredibly welcome. The welcome drinks, complimentary wine and biltong pack were thoughtful touches that immediately made us feel at home. As first-time houseboat guests and kayakers, we appreciated how thoroughly everything was explained. Romel and Dee were exceptionally accommodating, flexible with our plans, and always willing to help. The speedboat rides were an absolute highlight of the trip. We loved kayaking to The Pont for breakfast, and hearing the fascinating story of how Baby Blue was transformed from a Norwegian sea vessel into the beautiful houseboat it is today. The setting is breathtaking surrounded by mountains, sparkling water, and nature. We spent hours relaxing, watching wildlife through our binoculars, and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The houseboat itself is beautifully equipped, with a charming kitchen and thoughtful amenities, including a speaker. Inspired by the island-style music at Riverside Café, we spent our evenings listening to world music on the deck, which felt like the perfect soundtrack to such a unique escape. Baby Blue is much more than accommodation, it's an experience. Thank you, Romel and Dee, for your incredible hospitality and for creating memories we'll cherish for years to come. We would happily return.

Very little to dislike. The bathroom facilities are naturally compact, and the outdoor shower can feel a little chilly on colder winter days. However, this is simply part of the unique houseboat experience and requires a small shift in expectations from traditional accommodation. On warmer days it was perfectly enjoyable, and overall this was a very minor consideration in what was otherwise an exceptional stay!

As I am wheelchair bound but walk with difficulties with a walker the owners helped me from and to my car to get me into and out of the boat. They really did a great job and was very concerned that I do not get hurt. They explained everything very well and we had no problems at all. We received welcome coctails and a bottle of wine. I would truely recomment the Baby Blue Cruiser.

There is absolutely nothing one can find not to like about anything on Baby Blue and the restaurant. Delicious meals and cocktails with loads of fun to be had on the water with ample activities to choose from

Staying on Baby Blue was such a fun adventure—completely different from the usual B&B, and perfect for those who love nature and wildlife. The location in the Umtamvuna River gorge is breathtaking, and an afternoon spent canoeing up and down river was a definite highlight, along with spotting the ever-shy African Finfoot. The boat is small but comfortable, and the hosts are fantastic! Dee and Rom were friendly and accommodating.

This is a slice of pure heaven!!! Rocking gently on the estuary with THE most glorious views.... woken by sunrise and birdsong. D and Rom are fabulous hosts, and Baby Blue is simply gorgeous.

My six foot partner had roof clearance issues, and you need to be extremely comfortable with whomever you are staying with as the toilet is small.

WOW, what a beautiful stay. Dierdre and Romel were amazing,, super friendly and helpful. This was such a different holiday, we had so much fun, it was so peaceful and relaxing. Wow. That's all I can say. We didn't want to go up river, we decided to stay at the jetty. But it was such an amazing experience everyone has to try it. The staff there are totally amazing. Thank you Romel and Deirdre for the most amazing experience. Thank you for spoiling us. We will be doing it again.

We loved being alone, in nature and having the kayak as transport. We loved sleeping on the water and having an adventure with the family. The walking trail closeby, and the little beach was a great outing. The hosts were exceptionally friendly, helpfull and FUN! The nice bottle of wine and bluetooth speaker was a great plus.

It was exceptionally hot, and there was only small windows to open. So the heat was a bit difficult to handle. An aircon would have made the worlds difference.

It was quiet - clean and comfortable- the Hosts Deidre and her fiancé are focused on a personal service to the guests and will bed over backwards to accommodate you where ever it is within their power to do so. Lovely vibe at the Tikibar and beach if you don’t want to stay on the boat the whole day - lots to do - the best sleep I had in ages. Well done guys - we will definitely be seeing you soon. Brilliant brilliant amazing experience.

Firstly, the hosts are fantastic. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and facilitated a unique and magical stay. Baby blue is a 1 of a kind, a must do experience that leaves you wanting more. The boat is the perfect little island of peace that insulates you from everything and everyone.

We literally switched off from the rat race of the city and were in sync with nature and the peaceful ambience on the boat and surrounds. We are extremely thankful for the beautiful experience.

We loved every minute of our Baby Blue weekend- unique, relaxing and special. We were so comfortable on the boat and spent many happy hours soaking up the sunshine and saturating our senses in the beauty and tranquility of river paradise. Welcome cocktails and food at the Riverside were delicious, as were the wine and snacks that we were spoilt with by our lovely hosts. We will definitely plan another Baby Blue adventure and stay for a little bit longer next time.

Well, where do I begin. On arrival at 'The Riverside Water Sports Bar', we were met by our hosts, Romel and Deidre, the most welcoming couple. We were treated like royalty, with service beyond our expectations. Baby Blue was ready, and we all went aboard. What a great surprise awaited us! The little houseboat is adorable. The décor and ambience were out of a fairy tale. Professionalism and responsibility flowed naturally, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment of our stay. The Baby Blue Houseboat is well fitted out, and we couldn’t have asked for a more romantic setting. Our hosts were only a phone call away if we needed anything. Giving us peace of mind and adding to the 'just chill out' factor. Our stay on 'Baby Blue' will be at the top of the list of places to be recommended by us to our friends. The whole experience was just amazing, from the warm and kind welcome by the owners to boarding the little boat to experience an evening under the stars in your own private little boat. The boat itself is comfortable and very clean., the bed is excellent.
