Der Gastgeber war wirklich überaus hilfsbereit. Die Lage mitten im Dschungel ist der Hammer und die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist fabelhaft.

Na drukke dagen hadden we hier een heerlijk rustig plekje om bij te komen en ook weer leuke dingen te ondernemen, raften natuurlijk maar ook een bezoekje aan de jungle. Heel vriendelijke eigenaar en personeel die graag helpen met wat dan ook. Het eten van de kok was lekker.

וואוו!!! מקום מדהים ,נקי וחדש! נמצאים פשוט בתוך הג'ונגל- אווירה מטורפת ואותנטית. חדרים נקיים וחדשים עם מרפסות ממש לתוך העצים. זמן ארוחת הבוקר לפי בקשתך. יש במקום גם אופציה לארוחת ערב במסעדה של המלון. והכי חשוב בעל המלון Samir איש פשוט מדהים שיעשה בשבילכם הכל! סגר לנו ראפטינג וקניוניג(עסק של אחיו). לקח אותנו לטיול שכלל הליכה של שעתיים בג'ונגל ובעוד אי מדהים והסברים על כל העצים/צמחים/ציפורים וכו' וכל זה ללא עלות. אין ספק שנחזור שוב.

העליה למלון היא על שביל צר מאוד, לא פשוטה לרכב גדול(לנו היה רכב של 8 אנשים). אבל Samir חיכה לנו על הכביש הראשי ועזר לנהג לנסוע עד לפתח המלון. אח"כ כבר התניידנו עם הרכב של Samir וטוק טוק(שהוא הזמין לנו).

Geweldige locatie boven de berg. Eigenaar houdt van de natuur en laat dit graag aan zijn gasten zien. Kamer was uitstekend, bedden lagen lekker. Onze dochter eet glutenvrij, daar hadden ze met het ontbijt ook rekening mee gehouden. Zijn broer runt een rafting center, was prettig, spullen doppen in de kamer en meteen door voor het tasten.

Wir hatten einen großartigen Aufenthalt im Leon Hilltop Resort. Der Eigentümer und das Personal waren sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Auch das Essen war hervorragend, das beste Reiscurry, das wir auf unserer Reise gegessen haben. Zu der Unterkunft gehört das Rafting Team 39. Wir konnten hier das Wildwasser Rafting und das Basic Canyoning machen, was auch viel Spaß gemacht hat. Auch hier war das Personal sehr nett. Das Bett war sehr bequem und man hatte eine schöne Aussicht, da die Unterkunft auf einem kleinen Berg mitten im Dschungel liegt. Der Eigentümer fährt einen mit einem Auto zur Unterkunft, wenn man möchte - es ist aber auch ein schöner Weg zum Laufen, wenn man kein Gepäck dabei hat. Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt, wir würden immer wieder dort hingehen, wenn wir in Kitulgala sind und können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Nichts, alles war top. Ein Mückennetz über dem Bett oder vor dem Fenster wäre vielleicht gut.

It was a very nice and new accommodation. Everything was nice and clean. The owner is so caring and really wants you to have the best experience. He is helpful in all areas: for activities, for transport, for interesting hikes or anything else. They also offer meals: very highly recommended. The cook is absolutely a great cook.

Fantastic stay with family. Staff were very accommodating organise the activities for us cooked in the evening a meal for us very comfortable rooms and spotless would definitely stay again!

We highly recommend staying here. It was in a beautiful and peaceful location but easy to arrange a tuk tuk to visit anywhere close by. Sameera was so incredibly helpful. He was there for anything we needed and happy to help with absolutely everything. He took us on a little jungle walk on our first morning and told us loads about the local area and all the fruit trees. Nothing was too much trouble. He took great pride in the quality of his service and the accommodation. Thank you Sameera for a perfect stay!

Brilliant host with great communication. Stunning property and location. The host organised white water rafting and sorted us a takeaway as there were limited options for dinner in that area. No tea facilities in the room but the host provided these on request which I was very grateful for!! Big thanks for making my partners birthday a memorable one. We saw monkeys in the trees.

There is a steep windy narrow drive up to the property but the host was happy to drive us up and down so it was not an issue.

La gentillesse et l'hospitalité de Sameera ! Il est aux petits soins pour vous! Petits déjeuners excellents, cadre idéal surplombant la jungle, chambres propres et très bonne literie. Notre hôte nous a organisé nos activités (canyoning et rafting : tenu par son frère) et nous a livré nos plats gratuitement que l'on avait commandé ! Ils vous emmène également gratuitement avec sa voiture. Il nous a fait découvrir la région lors d'une petite rando en nous présentant la faune et la flore. Je recommande vivement Leon Hilltop Resort à Kitulgala et son charmant propriétaire, Sameera ! Merci 🙏🙏🙏

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und groß. Die Dusche war warm und hatte einen ausgezeichneten Wasserdruck. Der Gastgeber war sehr sehr freundlich! Er holte zum Beispiel Abends für uns Essen, damit wir nicht mehr im Dunkeln zur Unterkunft zurückfahren mussten.

The place was on a hilltop with a beautiful environment. Sameera (the host) was so friendly and helpful, always making sure my needs were taken care of. It was a great stay at the start of my solo road trip.

Nous avons eu la chance de passer 2 nuits chez Sameera, dans un hôtel avec 2 chambres qui s'apparente un peu à une guesthouse finalement grâce à notre hôte! Oui, en effet, Sameera a été un hôte sensationnel! La maison est en hauteur avec une vue imprenable sur la rainforest et un confort parfait. L'accès n'est pas facile (petite route qui monte depuis la route principale); mais Sameera nous a conduit partout où nous avions besoin dans sa voiture (sans frais!) et même organisé le rafting et le canyonning pour nous à des tarifs intéressants puisque c'est son frère qui tient le rafting team 39! Il a même été jusqu'à nous livrer les repas à la maison après que nous ayons pris commande dans un restaurant à Kitulgala! Il nous également fait découvrir le village dans la rainforest avec une balade à travers cette jungle incroyable en nous indiquant toutes les plantes qu'il connait! c'était mieux que de visiter un ardin botanique artificiel. Sameera aime son pays et son prochain et nous le recommandons vivement!

New villa, spotless clean. Best wifi so far in Sri Lanka. A very helpful polite and tentative owner and staff. Located in a peaceful and quiet location up the hill, only a 10 minutes walk to the main road uphill and 5 minutes downhill... Plus the breakfast, and especially the coffee was excellent!!!!! Thank you Samir for everything!!

We stayed at Leon Hilltop Resort, Kitulgala, and it was a truly memorable experience. Although the owner was not there in person, he made sure everything was perfectly arranged for us. He arranged for Sampath to meet us before the location and assist us to the property, which was very thoughtful. Sampath was extremely helpful and friendly. We were warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink upon arrival. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. While the resort doesn't have its own restaurant, they asked what we wanted for dinner and even brought it from outside during heavy rain, something we truly appreciated. For breakfast, we requested string hoppers, and they kindly arranged rice, bread, and string hoppers. The place is peaceful, very clean, and offers a stunning mountain view. The entire staff, including two other team members whose names we unfortunately didn’t get, were kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The owner also kept in touch with us throughout our stay to ensure everything was going smoothly. This experience exceeded our expectations and was absolutely worth more than what we paid. Even though we are locals, we were treated with the same care and respect as any guest which is rare. After a tiring field visit to Makandawa Forest Reserve, the calm atmosphere and excellent service made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to everyone at Leon Hilltop Resort. We highly recommend this place!

The two guys Lionel & Kumar who run the place are very friendly. They will go out of their way to assist you in any way possible. They did my laundry for me. Lionel can arrange rafting, canyoning etc through Raft 39 where he works so this is convenient if you are in the area to do such things. The hotel is still under partial construction but this didn't impact my stay. I believe it is due to be finished soon for the upcoming main season as I was informed. The room is a very high standard, brand new, good AC, good bed, bathroom etc. Location is up a twisty mountain road, fine if you have a small car or tuktuk. If not the owners will assist by taking you up/down as they are always in the area. Dinner & breakfast served was always good & plenty of food so you won't go hungry.

Such a minor negative comment but the coffee at breakfast could have been stronger as it was very weak. Shower could do with a fitted screen to keep bathroom dry when showering. Minimal really but something to improve if possible.

The man that stayed in the hotel and managed our stay was so lovely and amazing. He couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable and was so sweet, one of the kindest people I’ve met! The room was recently renovated and very comfortable - the bed was amazing and bathroom very modern.

The only issue was the lack of wifi and signal. The owner was quite keen for us to do white water rafting with his company, though understandable because there aren’t many tourists around, it did get a bit awkward.

The Place was peaceful and quite beautiful surroundings with nature covering up the place. Temperature was lovely enough to enjoy myself and relax as well. The staff were very friendly Yasitha was the staff who was looking after the place he was there to assist us from check in till check out supported us in guiding about the places to visit, Etc.... The Owner of the place Mr Jayaratne was really helpful aswell.

The hotel was up on hill we had some trouble going up and down luckily we had our own motor bike hence it was managable.

Beautiful new villa on a hill with great view on surrounding mountains. The owner was very friendly, helped us to organize a trip in forest and rafting. Super clean. Very friendly staff.

The guesthouse is located on the top of the hill so you are reliant on a car to get anywhere. Our host Lionel was always available to take us in his car wherever we needed to go. The staff are super friendly and helpful too and will do anything to enhance your stay. They will also arrange rafting/canyoning through Team 39 just down the road.

Leon Hilltop is a new venture (hence few reviews). It is in a great location (up the hill from team 39 watersports). It sits on the ridge line and has great views. It is well away from the road and was lovely and peaceful. The accommodation was immaculate - clean and comfortable. Sameera and his team were extremely welcoming and attentive from the outset. At the time of writing they didn’t have in house catering, instead using a local hotel to provide food and drinks which were brought up to our dining area. If you’re coming for a bit of rafting I’d highly recommend Leon Hilltop - I’m certain Sameera and his team will look after you just as well as he did us!

The resort is very new and there is everything you would need for a nice stay. The bed was super comfortable as well. The owners are lovely and make sure you are always comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place because it has a lot of potential! The location point is not correct on Google Maps, but you can get to the right place by following the directions in the previous review.

The staff was a bit unexperienced, but it didn’t bother us as it was compensated with a lot of friendliness. Also it is a freshly opened place so it is understandable that there is a bit of a learning curve.

This hotel is located on a hill, maybe 50m higher and 300m removed from the main road. It is in a very peaceful and quiet location surrounded by nature but still in walking distance to the main road and restaurants etc. The building and rooms are new, very clean and spacious with modern electrical installations including a silent aircon and a good bathroom. The hotel was only recently opened, and not yet everything is 100% finished, but that is more than compensated by the helpfulness and eagerness of the very friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is associated with one of the bigger organizers of Rafting, canoeing, etc. called "Rafting team 39", which is located directly below on the main road. This allows for flexible and very easy logistics and guarantees fair conditions for activities organized by that company. The small access road to the hotel starts on the main road about 500m South-East from "Rafting team 39". In my case I got off the bus there and was driven up the hill.
