A beautiful small hotel in an amazing location, so close to everything but quiet at night. The breakfasts were lovely, so much choice! The staff were exceptional, going out of their way to provide help or advice. We cannot thank Pedro enough for his attentiveness and kindness, and his recommendations were all perfect. This hotel exceeded all expectations by a mile and then some! We were in Portugal for 2 weeks and stayed at 4 different hotels around the country. This hotel was meant to be the most budget place that we chose as we only stayed two nights, but our stay was fantastic. This hotel feels like a 4 star hotel. Aside from its smaller physical size, it felt as nice and had all of the amenities as the 4-star hotels that we did stay at! Clean rooms and spacious for the boutique scale. Wonderful location. And a great breakfast which is perfect for travelers.

Loved the location. Right next to the river and the beautiful Church of St Francis. The rooms were beautifully designed and comfortable for a couple. Large bed and very clean. The breakfast was also very good and helped start every day we had in Porto! Highly recommend booking at Ribeira Douro.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Das Buffet wird immer wieder liebevoll aufgefüllt. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und nett. Für meine beiden Tagesausflüge habe ich jeweils einen tollen Frühstücksbeutel mit Sandwiches, Früchten, Getränken und weiterem bekommen. Geschät habe ich jeweils nach der Rückkehr ins Hotel, dass eine Kaffemaschine frei verfügbar war. Es standen auch Gebäck und Früchte bereit.

Die Bildqualität des normalen Fernsehprogramms lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Sender rieseln. Es gibt auch keinen einzigen deutschsprachigen Sender. Das hat mir in so einem Hotel gefehlt. Den Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer habe ich auch in der Früh rege genutzt.

Quaint location, located on a beautiful historic street leading down to the riverfront. Despite the traffic, it was quiet and calm. Beautiful facility - new, renovated and well restored. Great breakfast and close to walkable sites in Porto. Highly recommend!

Everything that we had hoped for exceptional, the staff, the location, the room, the breakfast and the afternoon quiet time with snacks. We have already suggested this hotel to our friends! This was one of our best stays during our 2026 European visit.

The only issue we sort of had, and it really was an issue, but the hotel is easy to miss. We walked right past it several times. Maybe some more treats for the afternoon relax time upstairs.

We had a wonderful stay at The Ribera Douro Hotel . The hotel is in a fabulous location & it is pristine inside ! The welcome glass of Port is a lovely touch & all the staff are extremely helpful & friendly . The breakfast is very varied with lots of options & having treats/ fruit coffee & sparking or still water available all day in the lobby is a lovely touch ! Would definitely go back !

A fabulous small boutique hotel right off the Douro River. All the staff were incredible, and English was not a problem at all. We were traveling as a family of 4, and although we could not have neighboring rooms since our children wanted single beds and we wanted a king bed, our children were in the room just above us (and there are only 3 to 4 rooms/floor, so it was not an issue for our family). We were offered some port as we arrived, and luggage storage on our departing day was no trouble. Communication before we arrived was great as well. The rooms are immaculately clean and very clean and spacious, and comfortable. The mini fridge and AC were very welcomed, as were the fruit/pastries and coffee machine/water machines for use 24/7. Breakfast was great each morning with eggs, meats, cheeses, and plenty of fruit/vegetables and pastries (and they provided a tray of gluten free treats/breads for us as well). Fantastic location exploring Porto - we loved staying here and would happily stay again. Also, even though is in the heart of Ribeira, the rooms are so quiet and we had NO issue with noise in the evenings.

Not a negative, just something to know. Unless you book a service (which the hotel will do for you), you cannot directly access the hotel from the street. However, it is a very short walk from the Ribeira Mc Donalds, so just use that as a drop off point if you hire an uber to get there (which is generally less than taxi or rail if you have a few people in your party). The only downside is the lack of view from the room, but that meant that you had piece and quite in your room .. and you only had to walk a few feet from the hotel to see incredible views.

Vi fikk en sjarmerende suite i fjerde etasje med balkong, men også flere nivåer bundet sammen av trapper fra inngangsdør og sovehems ned til oppholdsdel, bad og ekstra sovealkove med seng. Alt veldig stilfullt, nytt og komfortabelt. Frokost på gateplan ved resepsjon var utmerket, delikat opplagt pålegg, bakst, frukt og grønt, variert og innholdsrik. Kaffemaskin, men ferske juicer.

Kaffen kunne vært litt bedre, men ikke noe som trekker ned totalopplevelsen

Sentralt ved elva i Porto like ved sentral plass med restauranter og barer. Kort vei opp til byen. Beliggende i trang og sjarmerende gate, vanskelig tilgjengelig for bil, men fint for Taxi etc. Dermed også lite trafikk, og en rolig beliggenhet. Hotellet er nyoppusset i et gammelt sjarmerende bygg, men høyeste komfort i alle detaljer. Heis til alle etasjer, men rommet vi fikk i øverste etasje hadde intern trapp mellom inngang og sovehems og oppholdsrom og bad. Ikke noe problem for oss - snarere et pluss - men vær obs. om man har problem med trapper... Frokosten på gateplan var utmerket på alle måter. De hyggelige folkene som jobbet med den la stor flid i variert utvalg og lekker presentasjon.

Loved how close it was to everything and the beautiful Ribeira and Gaia. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and the rooms were comfortable and always well presented. Breakfast was filling with so many choices with sweets, fruits, bread, yoghurt and cooked items. There is even free tea/coffee/hot chocolate (and filtered water) through the day (with left over sweet cakes etc). If anyone is wondering there are only 13 rooms 4 levels and is an elevator!

There is nothing to dislike.

The hotel was spotless. It was in a great location and because it was small, we met so many of the guests. The front desk staff was so helpful and the breakfast staff was outstanding. The breakfast wax the best we had during our entire trip to Portugal. We would like to thank Gisela, Artur, Luana , and Gabriela.

The hotel is located near the river in the heart of the tourist district of Porto. it is great for accessibility albeit can get buy in the neighbourhood. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was fairly priced but no "value for money". The breakfast was fine but not outstanding.
