Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Very friendly people, warm welcome, comfortable tents. Ali was punctual and hospitable. The information was complete and accurate.
The transport to and from the camp is a bit pricey if you come with a family.
All staffs are friendly. The camp is comfortable. Dinner was excellent. Learning how to play their instruments was fun.
Everything was good about the camp. There is another camp not very far.
Great location quiet and away from other camps. The dinner was delicious. Hassan was very friendly taking us to a quick night walk to watch over the dromedaries and turned off the lights for us to better admire the stars. It was such a great experience. Fully recommended.
Cena e colazione molto buone. Possibilità di fare sand boarding. Tramonto perfetto. Serata intorno al fuoco magica. Grazie Ali!
Nulla
The tent was cozy and warm, the place is beatiful and the guys there were super friendly and nice!
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this camp! Located farthest from the other camps, it is quiet, peaceful, and the view is amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. Definitely a once in a lifetime trip that I hope to do again. Next time I will stay longer!
The place was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and made an effort to accomodate us. There was plenty of space to find your own spot and enjoy the desert alone or with your partner.
It is maybe a bit commercial/touristy, but that's to be expected with such a beautiful place.
Personale davvero gentilissimo e cordiale.
Byliśmy tam w listopadzie, a nocą temperatura naprawdę mocno spada.
Perfect stay. The warm and friendly welcome, well-equipped room, and the great breakfast and dinner. I also enjoyed the starry sky and the beautiful sunset and sunrise during my stay. A wonderful experience and definitely worth the trip.
It is very nice people and very good food
Nothing
One of our best accomodation in Morroco, amazingly equiped tents with private bathroom. All was nice and clean. Staff super friendly and very good comunication with them about pickup and where to park a car. Transport by 4x4 to the camp was fun. Location is perfect right in the beautifull dunes. All meals we had was delicious. Thank you guys once again for everything. We never forget.
Really nice near and clean room, very nice dinner.
I think fare for 4x4 vehicle to camp from merzouga is high. Before booking confirm this with Ali. Overall nice stay.
Un espace hors du temps. Magique.
Beautiful camp, on the far side of the dunes. It's a bit more isolated than other camps. The staff were wonderful and very attentive to our needs as a family with two kids below 10.
Nothing!
Prachtige locatie.

Cudne doświadczenie, wspaniały klimat i najlepsza kolacja jaką póki co zjedliśmy w Maroku. Bardzo polecam! Czysto i ekskluzywnie jak na warunki pustynne. Bardzo miła obsługa.
The accomodation is in a wonderful environment and the tents are very beautiful and cozy. We were well received by the team which was flexible and attentive.
There are few activities to do autonomously from the hotel and you are dependant on the prices that are fixed for each travel if you don't have a car : in the end, it made our days very expensive. For exemple, the price to go to the nearest airport was 180€ when I have found a 90€ service elsewhere, which is not even the cheapest. Sometimes, due to energy provided by solar panels, there are some electricity cuts (wifi, electricity & hot water in the tents etc), which could happen in the desert but there is no communication from the staff about it and when the electricity is supposed to come back There is no choice at diner so be careful if you are picky or don't eat certain foods
Beautiful atmosphere, great staff and silent camp Incredible camel ride at the sunset and romantic dinner for two under the stars, with berber show at the end ! Very recommended
All incredible including the messages shared during the night. Real incredible people, great camp, good food and all super well organized. Thank you for all.
-
Great staff, nice food, spectacular location, the camels are awesome and sandboarding as well
Horaz Camp is a gorgeous, tranquil luxury desert experience hidden in the Erg Chebbi dunes. Ali and his team were incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived. We did a camel ride at sunset, then took a 4x4 to the camp, which is very remote and peaceful. Jumbo, the black cat, was also there to welcome us! After dinner we spent the night stargazing, which was absolutely magical. There are so many little corners to relax in, so you can find your own peaceful spot to watch the stars or you can sit by the fire with others. Our yurt was way nicer than expected and even has its own bathroom, so we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Highly recommend!
It was just an amazing experience. We were a group of three and can definitely recommend. :)
Very nice place, deep in de dessert. The staff was really nice.
No hot water.
Small, intimate camp in the desert with live music by the fire. We did camel ride, 4x4 and dinner which was 70 euro extra per person.
The heating did not work.
We loved everything. 4x4 ride to camp was beautiful, tents were convenient and clean. Hot water in the shower (with good pressure!), heater inside tent. Dinners and breakfasts were delicious. The camp is located far away from other camps, we stayed for 2 nights so we had 1 whole day for enjoying the silence and beauty of the desert (lot of places to relax inside camp - cushions, benchs, beds, chairs. Staff was amazing, very helpful and cheerful. It was good value for money - we paid additional 100 euro per person for ride there and back 4x4 and 2 dinners.
Nothing, sometimes heater didnt work
Great stay in the desert. Cool dune drive to and from the village. The hosts at the camp were awesome. Super friendly and always finding a solution. The dinner was authentic and very tasty.
Nothing, if there would be a baby cod, that would be top notch.
The camel ride was a nice experience. And the dinner was good, it comes in several courses. Very comfortable beds. There is a toilet and a shower in the tent.
It says on the profile that there is parking, but they don't tell you until you book that the parking is far away and you have to pay extra for transportation to the camp. Unfortunately, it was raining that one night we stayed, but that's not their fault. So maybe you should check the weather before coming to the camp.
Location was fabulous; it is farther than the other camps and more private
There is a separate charge for transportation from parking to the camp, which I wish had just been included in the price. However, it was worth every dirham and I would go again without a doubt
This camp was a wonderful experience for my family. The hosts were gracious and the location couldn’t be beat. It felt like we were the only camp in the Sahara.
It was smart decision to stay in the desert for 2 nights, not just a mainstream style 1 night. We had wonderful chance to enjoy desert slower and deeper. And here comes our thanks to camp owner Ali for flexibility to change our arrival and departure times and adjust activities as they didn't fit with mainstream procedures. Camp itself is lovely, staff - friendly and welcoming, cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner - awesome. This camp, indeed, is a bit more remote from others - at the far end of "camping street". Camel ride in sunrise hour before departure was awesome! Prices for all additional services were fair (although, transparency was missing, as mentioned at the downsides).
Because of winter season (early February), you have to be ready for cold room at night and mornings and refreshing shower. Sanboard was just one, we might have enjoyed better if there at least couple of sandboards. And main downside is extra pricelist after booking confirmation and not listed in the description. It seems to be the case for all camps in Merzouga, but I'd appreciate if I had full picture already at the moment of booking.
The tent was even better than expected. staff wasn't that great in their english but they tried there best and were very kind.
Sadly we didn't expected to pay for the ride towards the camp. We thought we read that it already was included since you couldn't get to the camp with your own car. This was quite pricy per person
Small and peaceful camp, good location with the view of sand dunes. Helpful staff. Good breakfast and dinner.
The room was too cold and the WiFi doesn’t work properly! In our first night, the heater didn’t work. We were frozen!! They changed our room in the second night, the heater was on for some time but it was off again during the night which made it too cold. Cold nights are expected in desert conditions; however, it wasn’t communicated honestly that heater isn’t working. We have been told that heater will be on in 10 minutes in our first night…
It's one of the few more remote camps - that's what made me choose this one. Other ones look placed one next to another. Staff was very flexible - e.g. they managed to prepare gluten-free bread (and they were not advised before). Food was tasty and plentiful. We were there in winter - there was a small heater in the tent but still I slept in a hat.
Be advised that booking.com shows only the price for the tent+breakfasts. You will have to add 4x4 or camel transport both ways from Merzouga, dinners and optional activities such as sunset rides and berber village trip, and this is not cheap. It was not super clear to me at first how much it was going to be and how it was going to be organised, I contacted them on whatsapp but did not feel 100% informed. But at the end of a day everything turned out to be perfect.
The atmosphere
This was a fantastic way to visit the Sahara. The camp is small and intimate. The staff are friendly. We were treated to Berber drumming by the fire after dinner and then more stars than you can count.
Nothing
Small camp, very intimate, beautifully decorated. Exceptional experience, the evening with the music is memorable
Great location further away from other camps. Comfortable tents with all required amenities. Friendly staff, and options for some activities for a fee.
The listed price is only for the overnight stay, there are extra costs that are not optional and are shared only after booking and are pretty steep (such as 2x €25 per person for transfer to and from the camp, and €18 for dinner).
We had an amazing 2 night stay in the desert at this camp. We came during low season and we were the only tourists there. Morad and the rest of the staff made sure we had an unforgettable time in the desert. They went above and beyond to make us feel like we were at home, and we enjoyed lovely chats with Morad around the fire in the evening. The food was so delicious and the facilities exceeded expectations (hot showers with good water pressure, warm and comfortable tents, decent wifi given that you're in the desert).
The wifi was a bit spotty - the router is in the restaurant area so depending on where your tent is, your connectivity will be better/worse. The price for the accommodation is only for the tent, all other activities (including transport to and from the camp) are an additional cost - it would be nice if that was clear when booking.
this was a fantastic experience. Ali was a great host. truly recommend
Small and not nice facilities. Clean and well equipped tents. Nice staff. Great food and Breakfast.
Although the facility is cheap the rest things are highly priced. Where you have no choice but must take them. E.g. transfer to tents. 50 Euro per person. Stay at tent 9 Euro inkl. Breakfast.
Wonderful music and facilities!
Unforgettable experience you shouldn‘t miss! We went with our car to a pick up point and drove with a jeep to the camp. We had the most lovely welcoming with tea & snacks. Everything was out of our expectations - beds were the most comfortable from our whole trip, dinner was the most delish we had (4-course menu with local dishes) & the best part was to watch the stars at night. We stayed for 2 nights to get the whole experience & on the second day we had the camp pretty much for ourselves. Big thank you & a hug again to Morad who made this stay unforgettable & also to Ali, who always had a smile on his face & some funny jokes ahead.
It was all perfect, honestly! Just keep in mind that you need extra cash for all the activities you wanna do. Dinner is extra (of course) & you can choose to go by jeep, camel or quad into the camp. They also offer sandboarding & a trip to a berber/nomad village, but we didn‘t do any of that, just the transport by jeep, wich was really fun!
We enjoyed our stay in the desert very much. The staff was super friendly, the food excellent and the tents very beautiful. Just know that you have to play for every activity, but it is really worth it.
The staff of the camp was great and very helpful. The tents were nicely decorated and comfortable. And the sky full of stars amazing.
We got a good discount on the initial price and had to pay extra for the camel ride to and the drive in the 4x4 back to Merzouga. This seems to be rather common but it’s good to be aware before booking.
The camping experience was exceptional, and the hospitality provided by the host and the staff, Ali Hassan Lhsen Mohammed Omar ... was commendable. Their efforts made our visit truly memorable.
Nothing
One of the best experience of my life. Beautiful location and good food.
The trip to the desert, the food, music by the fire, helpful hosts, overall it was an amazing experience. We will definetely come here again if we got the chance to visit Morocco again.
Everything was perfect, from the beginning until the very end… Ali is a genius host, his staff is amazing and lovely and I’d comeback as soon as I can. We had an amazing experience my wife and I
The camp is very well located in the desert near the dunes. During the night, the dinner and the atmosphere around the fire is incredible. Moreover, the activities (4x4 and camel ride) are well organised.
While we very well understand all the challenges in maintaining a camp like this in such extreme conditions, we cannot express full satisfaction for the management as it relates to the activities and meals. The price that was communicated initially for all the activities and one dinner was raised significantly by the end of the second day (even taking a second dinner into consideration). It was not clear what "dinner" included, as apparently drinks were not included and billed separately (this was not communicated until the last moment). And even there we felt a bit tricked, as we were later told that the dinner costs 18€pp but we were charged 20€pp! Last but not least, during the second day we were left for 3 hours and 30 minutes in a hotel until the next activity without clear instructions (we could have taken books, swimming shorts, sun cream etc). At least there was a swimming pool, but it would have been good to be informed of this. Besides this, all the rest was exceptional.
everything was perfect. Liked the pick up by 4x4 wheel drive from the meeting point and the drive through the dunes, the magnificent view from the sand dunes, the ride with the camel to the camp, you can even ask for a romantic special table for two persons about 100 meter from the camp, the very nice dinner food at the camp, looking at the incredible beautiful sky with all the stars and seeing a few times falling stars and doing wishes and the drive back to the meeting point.
The amount of water from the shower could be more, but that is minor because as you know we are in the desert. Maybe the breakfast can be extended.
