D'TERRACE KUNDASANG

The facilities are conveniently located near the Kundasang town, making it easy to access shops and other amenities. The owner is also very kind, helpful, and supportive.

The only suggestion for improvement would be the road access. It would be helpful to provide more car park and install a traffic mirror at the sharp corner so drivers can see oncoming vehicles earlier and improve safety on the steep road.

Saya sukakan pemandangan bilik yang mengadap gunung kinabalu,sejuk dan di tanah tinggi. Layanan owner hotel yang mesra,ramah dan baik hati. Kebersihan bilik amat baik walaupun kemudahan bilik amat terhad.

The bathroom water is not flowing to drainage. We need to swipe the water to the drainage hole. The bed is hard for my kids to sleep. The blanket is too thin that it cant keep warm

The location was great and the Mount Kinabalu view from the room was spectacular.

The view is amazing! Great location! Parking is stressful in general in the area but they do a good job figuring it out.

Parking was very difficult. Room has very steep stairs, not suitable for everyone

Amazing setting with a direct view of Mt Kinabalu from your room. Your best chance to see it in its full beauty. The owner is the kindest lady ever, speaks good English and will help you with everything needed. There is even a common room with a fridge and little drinks (at extra cost but cheap). A restaurant for dinner or breakfast is 2min walk. The room has everything needed.

It can be cold at night - if you’re cold, ask for a blanket !

Amazing view of Mount Kinabalu from both the room and the terrace! The room is a bit small but fully equipped with everything you need, including a hairdryer, iron, and electric kettle for tea. There's a hot shower and access to a lower-level terrace with an outdoor gas kitchen if you wish to cook. Scooter rental is also available at a reasonable price. The host was extremely kind—he gave us a ride to the town center and to the bus stop, and was very accommodating with all our requests. Great value for money compared to other places I checked in the area — definitely recommended!

Not a downside, just something to be aware of: the area can get windy at times, so at night you might hear some creaking or noises from the structure. It's completely normal when the wind picks up

The owners were warm, friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and amazingly complete (especially the pantry). Drinking water, maggie, 3 in 1 and even ice cubes were sold at the pantry. There's even a gas stove and kitchen equipment. The view was spectacular. Everyday you will get a full view of the magnificent mount kinabalu if the weather is good. I will certainly come again in the future.

The only uncomfortable thing was the next door guests making noises at night (family with children). I couldn't sleep well because the children were running and jumping around loudly. The road to the homestay was very very steep and place to make a u turn was limited. Parking also limited.

car park need to be very carefull as its on a steep road if u drive ur own car. If u hire driver to drop you, shouldn’t be a problem.

It is located exactly in front of the Mount Kinabalu. The moment you open your eyes, you will see Mount Kinabalu 😍 Dr. Vasanthi was really kind & helpful too. We enjoyed the stay! Will definitely come back soon.

View of Mount Kinabalu is unbeatable. 10/10! Host, Dr Vasa, is very friendly, very helpful and very accomodative. Love it! Cleanliness is AAA! Its not a modern luxury place but it was very clean and cozy. It has everything u need for a traveling night. Worth every RM spent!

The stairs will be a challenge for some people who is less fit. You can ask in advance for upper unit to avoid the stairs. The road upward to parking very steep but very short distance. We've (all ladies 🤣 ) made it , so can you 😁. The host is very helpful as well to assist on the parking.

Nice view of Mt Kinabalu. Friendly and helpful owner. There's a cafe with nice food, operated by the owner's friend nearby. Near Kundasang town center and many attractions. Facilities are not bad considering it is in the mountains.

We 6 people stay in one single unit without separate rooms, so a lot of noise. Weird unit design (one of the beds is in a weird location). Body wash and shampoo are not provided, so travellers should prepare themselves.

The view

The view from this place is outstanding. It literally takes your breath away. You can see the mountain from all rooms and also the common area, which has seating, fridge, stove and all plates and utensils. The room is spotless and has a kettle, some dishes, coffee. There is a hairdryer, which is very helpful on a humid day. But the thing we liked the most about staying here was meeting the hostess Dr. Vasanthi and her family, who are extremely nice and helpful people. We learned a lot about the local culture and the way of life. We had a great stay and wished it was longer.

Great location. Close to town and other attractions. Fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from the room. Just open the door at sunrise and enjoy the picturised views with a cup of hot coffee in your hands.

Parking and steep road leading up to the place. We went there during mid-week (as advised by friends). Were told that Kundasang will usually be packed with visitors and tourists during weekends. As there were not many guests when we were there we didn't have to "fight" to get a parking space.

I truly enjoyed my stay here. The room cleanliness is SUPERB! The facilities provided are PERFECT. The manager, Dr. Vasanthi is extremely helpful and very welcoming. The hotel is a perfect choice for solo travellers and family if they want to spend their time in Kundasang for its tranquillity and stunning Mount Kinabalu picturesque view.

Car park handling requires a skilled driver, as you have to reverse your car downhill very cautiously when you want to leave the hotel. However, this is not a big issue as the manager will contact you in advance through whatapp to inform you about your car park allocation.
