Great quiet location and super dinner and breakfast

Lovely apartment, very spacious.

Breakfast was very disappointing. Food cold and containers empty by 9.45. Breakfast not over until 10.30. Lights in apartment kept flickering

The place was nice and clean. Room was spacious. Has on site parking.

Far from Sligo and like 8 min drive to closest place to eat. There was a random alarm at 6:45AM as we were sleeping. We thought it was a fire alarm but turns out it was somewhere in the room.We just went around flipping switches to turn it off. Had to wait a long time on line to check in. The staff then kept asking for my number over and over again. I finally said it’s the same as here, pointing to the piece of paper she gave me to sign.

The appartment room. Very cold. Couldn't get heating to work. Figured out where the boiler was and turned it on. Bedroom...radiator , closed solid. Bed freezing. Slept on couch where it was warm . Reported same. Following evening still not fixed , requested maintenance again, came over took full 5 min with large wrench to open the radiator. Obviously bedroom not heated in a long time. Not sure if we were in staff accommodation. It was ? Upgraded recently ? Wiring at boiler, not correct. Lights flickering n flashing. Walls half painted. Really poor...bland appartment that could have been so nice. Really disappointing....only thing good was the food and the lovely staff. Management and owners....really not good enough at all. Never going back....

Le personnel est agréable et serviable. Le confort des chambres et l’environnement avec le golf. La propreté des lieux également. Petit déjeuner et repas très bien.

Très étonnée, après que j’aie payé la chambre, qu’on me demande ma carte bleue pour enregistrer tous les numéros sur l’ordinateur ( au cas où….?). Je n’étais pas sereine.

Doors very stiff, you have to slam door to get it to close properly which seemed to be the same for other guests also. Therefore while trying to sleep other guests banging their bedrooms doors in order to close properly definitely disrupted sleep.

Castledargan was a positive experience by & large. First impressions based on cold greeting at reception were in stark contrast to the friendliness of all the other staff - especially in the breakfast dining room. The surroundings were lovely & relaxing . By & large the room was as spacious & facilities were good. Could pay attention to the decline of some of the bathroom equipment but I’m not picking now. However these will soon become real issues for the hotel. Left with good memories

Everything well run no fuss superb food dinner reasonable prices for main fair superb breakfast included Fabulous staff what’s not to like, incredible location.

Not adequate ventilation in the room unless you open the windows substantially for want of a better word. Rooms well appointed and excellent square metres 👍👍

È in campagna anche se vicino alla città, quindi un po' decentrato. La colazione non ci ha fatto impazzire.

That hotel staff walked into my room after I locked it from the inside, the room was never cleaned once after leaving the room from 8am to 3pm, the "double bed" was also two single beds pushed together

The building work outside, which was only notified to us when the cancellation period was up. Breakfast - bacon like leather, no gluten free bread available ( even though they were notified weeks ago), Apartments- great concept , except that every door was a fire door and the bang when they closed was transmitted through the whole building

Spacious apartment. Very comfy bed. Living area was a lovely place to be.

Lots of stairs. No elevator. Unpleasant odour from the bathroom.

The apartment was on bad condition, wasn't worth for the money at all

Loved the staff. They were so efficient and friendly especially Janice at breakfast and the girls in Reception.

No actual cosy lounge to sit and enjoy drinks in the evening. Reception area was not the place to sit and enjoy a drink. Not enough coffee left in rooms( some days only 2). We stayed an extra night and enjoyed it.

Das Zimmer (Suite Lake Isle) hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen - es war riesig. Hatte etwas Patina, aber das hat den Charme ausgemacht . Das Frühstück war sehr gut, man konnte diverse Speisen auswählen. Auch das Angebot und die Qualität des Abendessens waren sehr gut.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln!!

Reception staff tried to tell me I didnt pay enough and sign document with higher price even though I showed them Booking.com receipt. Then wouldn't give me keys to our room even though we had paid in full in advance until they scanned my credit card which I didn't want to be done.

It is beautiful, nicely located, clean. we stayed for 1 night and it was all fine. A lot of people come for golf but we didnt try it.

The room is oldschool and needs renovation purely from the aesthetics perspective, the breakfast hot meals were not great, underwhelming

Beautiful grounds and excellent breakfast. Free parking and just a short drive to Sligo, castle ruins, waterfall, wild Atlantic way, etc. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Big family room.

Several little things in slight disrepair, but it looks like they’re working on fixing things up a bit. Just felt that for the price, there would be more attention to detail in the rooms themselves.

Spa appointment was cancelled by staff but promptly rebooked for a later time. Little better room spotting after cleaning required, a pair of tights were left on the lampshade when we had checked into the room.

Door of room jammed very hard to get into the room carpet was too high, bathroom door very hard to close too, lock jamming, pee in the toilet on arrival, food portions small & long wait after sitting down to ordering & long wait on food arrival

No character in the bar area, lighting too strong, could do with better mood lighting and music in the bar area, very disappointed that there were no bar staff after 10 pm. Very poor continental breakfast options and cooked breakfast was cold and overcooked.

Staff were amazing, the girls were so hospitable.

A little piece of luxury for us. Lovely comfortable large room overlooking the golf course. Lovely shower and comfortable bed. Friendly staff and super breakfast - cooked to order. We also had dinner in the restaurant and the chicken tikka masala was lovely as was the lemon cheesecake

The hotel is located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. We stayed in one of the apartments, which are located in a separate building from the main hotel. Breakfast was included and served in the hotel building. The breakfast is mainly à la carte and was very good, with a small buffet selection as well.

The apartments must have been very nice when they first opened, but they are now quite worn from heavy use and need renovation. The shower had a lot of mould, and the bathroom was poorly lit. The kitchen was dated and had very few utensils. There was a separate top-opening freezer which was dirty and had liquid inside. The curtains had many stains, and the windows were also dirty. At breakfast, we missed having more fresh fruit. The buffet selection was quite limited, with very little variety and small quantities available. Overall, the apartment needs much better maintenance and a thorough refurbishment.

Loved the big bathroom, the great shower and the bed was very good quality.

The room was spacious and the restaurant was lovely, with breakfast included.

We unfortunately had a noisy neighbour, where we could barely hear our own television. Not able to be rectified by the staff. Disappointing.

Lovely quiet room, very good selection of dishes at dinner and breakfast, beautifully presented by friendly, efficient staff. A minor problem with the bedroom was rectified immediately. Nice quiet location, and although we don’t play golf, we enjoyed the views over the course from the dining areas.

Beautiful big room away from the main hotel - en suite spotlessly clean. Delicious food. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The food was fabulous although the potato bread was hard.

We went down to the spa to use the facilities and was informed that the sauna was only thing working.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The space for a two-bed apartment was also decent, with all essential facilities and amenities.

The shower head was not clean, with lots of hair which was really gross. There was also only a all-in-one body/shampoo gel.

It was very peaceful and the staff were amazing especially Siobhan an asset to the hotel The best food we had in any establishment in a long time

Breakfast on both mornings was excellent. Very impressed with the porridge and its hint of coconut.Eggs Benedict was yum.

If raised continuously while we were there. Not a lot anyone could do about that.😂😂

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, it was very comfortable and quiet, the staff were all friendly, we ate at the bar in the hotel and enjoyed our meal as well as the breakfast the next morning which was also very good.

The apartment could probably do with a spruce up although saying that, it was still very comfortable and offered a lot of space.

The hotel is situated in the country which has stunning views and is one of the quietest hotels I ever stayed in. Central location to Sligo town, Ben Bulben, Lissadell house and to several forest walks. Reception staff very friendly - a shout out to Caroline who rectified a charge by Booking.com which I had already paid at check-out, a misunderstanding all round. I have had a bad experience with The Harcourt Hotel in Dublin for not returning €100 deposit though the room was left immaculate, may be a scam they are running, so you can imagine my relief when Caroline sorted the overpayment.

The shower was a lbit of a let down, couldnt get the hot water workibg properly, no matter the direction I turned the dials.

Temperature control in the room was inaccessible as it was mounted six inches from the ceiling. Grout in the shower was old and somewhat moldy

The hotel is absolutely stunning. Our room was breathtaking. We stayed in the Sally Garden suite located in a separate house on the estate. The view was fabulous. Staff are wonderful and food was absolutely amazing

Loved absolutely everything about the hotel

Viaggio itinerante in famiglia con un ragazzo di 11 anni. Siamo arrivati alla sera tardi, dopo cena, quindi abbiamo sfruttato l'hotel al minimo indispensabile, per dormire e colazione. L'hotel si trova in una zona molto tranquilla ed è un'ottima struttura con tanto di campi da golf. La camera era spaziosa, i letti comodi ed il bagno ampio e dotato di tutto l'occorrente. Anche la colazione era buona ed abbondante. Molto comodo il parcheggio per l'auto privato. Noi facendo un viaggio itinerante ci siamo fermati una sola notte, ma questo è sicuramente un posto che consiglieri anche a chi volesse fermarsi più giorni nella zona di Sligo.

We were given a room in the old house. The room was lovely; large very clean ; comfortable. The decor was also nice. We ate in the restaurant in the evening (we were the only people in it at the time) was delicious, and breakfast was cooked to order and was also good.

The main building is an odd shape and there is construction work going on onsite. It seems mainly to be a golf course and set up for golfers. The ruins of Castle Dargan itself are located within the gold course and whilst it is quite possible to walk there along the path through the golf course, it is a fairly long walk with little or no sign posts. Given that Yeats wrote about the ruins it is sad that the hotel is so uninterested.
