Perfect hostel for people who want privacy, not the party type hostel. Very aesthetic pink lady’s dorm. Bed and bathroom are clean. Also, located right next to tram station to Amsterdam Centraal Station.

Temizlik hayal kırıklığıydı, yatak ve çevresinde hijyen problemleri vardı, çarşaflarda önceki konuklardan kalan kir izleri, kan izleri gibi rahatsız edici şeyler vardı. Asla kabul edilemeyecek şey ise tahtakurusu oldu. Daha önce yakın zamanda aynı odada konaklayan (ne yazık ki benimde odamdı-6 kişilik 416/422) insanların tahtakuruları hakkında yazdıklarından sonra bir aksiyon alınmıştır diye inanmak istedim ancak gece ortasında uyandığımda yatağımda tahtakurularını gördüm ve bir kaç yerimden ısırıldım. Bundan sonra fotoğraf ve videolarla personele ulaştım ancak tek alabildiğim destek beni 24 kişilik odada yer alan başka bir yatağa yönlendirmeleri oldu. Tüm geceyi o oda da tahtakurusu olup olmayacağı kaygısıyla geçirdim, ısırılmaktan ziyade evime tahtakurusu taşımak istemiyordum. Personele kızmıyorum ellerinden geleni yaptılar ancak yönetimin tahtakurusunun farkında olup bir çözüm üretmeden insanların bunu fark etmemelerini bekleyerek sadece para kazanmaya odaklı anlayışı asla kabul edilebilir değil.

First time being at a hostel and it was honestly so nice. The staff was friendly, the location was quiet and nice, I felt safe as a first time solo traveler.

There’s a lot of showers and toilets which is great. It is right in front of public transportation and very central location

1. On my first 2 nights the AC on my room was not working and in the second night for some reason the room got flooded because of it. There was no apologies or compensations from the hostel, which was not very cool. The room was terribly hot and they didn’t even apologize 2. Some pods are very small, on mine I couldn’t even seat on my bed. 3. It’s not super dirty, but it’s also not super clean

Ótimo custo benefício e excelente atendimento. Fiquei na cama tipo cápsula da parte superior do quarto, tinha um pouco mais de privacidade do que no beliches. Foi a primeira vez que fiquei em uma cama nesse estilo.

Como eu estava com uma mala pesada (pequena, mas pesada) tive dificuldade para acessar a recepção e a cama que fiquei.

The hostel is really nice, and its location is very close to tourist attractions. I loved staying at the Elephant Hostel.

This place is great; clean, wonderful staff, in a quiet part of town that's both walkable and beautiful, and safe. I like that there is a curtain, a light, an outlet, a small rack at the foot of teh bed, and a towel is provided. You get your own mini-locker as well. You can take the tram to city centre. Showers are as clean as they can be!

These aren't "dislikes" but notable areas for improvement. The common room is cosy but it doesn't allow for much mingling. Some of the pods have an extra hook on the wall outside, but mine doesn't. It'll be nice to have a hook to hang a coat or a wet towel. Unsure, but my floor (floor 3) only had one public bathroom/shower room that have 3 stalls each. I'm unsure if each room has their own bathroom, or if it's just our room that's sharing this bathroom/shower room area. It hasn't been a problem so far -- I haven't had to wait to use the toilet or shower thankfully.

The hostel's design is great, especially the main room. It looks the same as in the photographs. The room was also nice and cozy, and I felt safe there despite I was staying in the mixed bedroom with 15 strangers (both girls and boys) - everyone was very nice. There's a 24/7 cafe in the main room, and I ordered breakfast there (I really loved the granola with yogurt and honey), but you can also order other food and drinks (coffee/tea/beer, etc.). The location is also great: the district felt safe and is quite close to the city center; I would walk there without using public transport. The staff is very friendly, as well (the girls gave me a free pad when I asked for it, but a guy didn't help me to carry my baggage to the baggage room downstairs (with no elevator coming there), but I didn't ask him about it directly).

It's pricey, like everything in Amsterdam.

Hostel was in a great location. It looked really great, the design was a nice mix of eclectic and modern, with modern washroom facilities. The staff were great overall.

Unfortunately my last night I woke up at 3:30am with a bug crawling up my shoulder. I turned on the light in my bunk and saw it was a bed bug. I pulled the sheets away from the mattress and found many more that had clearly just fed. I had several large bits on my legs. I obviously could go back to sleep, so I stripped the bed as we were instructed, and returned the bedding to the reception and let them know. The Lady said " we don't have bed bugs". I said well you can look at the bedding I just just gave you and see for yourself. She replied "it's ok, I'm not calling you a liar". She didn't offer anything further, but gave me a complementary coffee. I stayed in the lounge until 7am when I left for the train station.

Beds were comfortable and had a thick curtain, also liked having a locked cubby. The tram also comes right outside the hostel so doesn’t take long to get into the city.

The room was a bit on the smaller side with not much room to store our belongings. I wish we could have been able to control the air conditioning as it got a bit hot at night! Bathroom didn’t have ventilation which caused a muggy smell.

L'équipe est vraiment magnifique, tous à l'écoute et serviables. Le fait que quelqu'un soit disponible 24h sur 24 assure que nos questions et nos besoins auront toujours une réponse, ce qui nous permet de passer un séjour sans inquiétude.

Le seul point à revoir, c'est les casiers et l'espace pour ranger ses affaires. Les clientes dans mon dortoir pour filles ont été très polies en général mais plusieurs sont venues avec d'énormes valises qui risquaient de bloquer l'accès aux casiers ou aux échelles et qu'elles avaient du mal à situer dans l'espace. Mais plusieurs d'entre elles avaient bien besoin de ces valises car elles font un long voyage depuis l'Asie, par exemple. Donc je me demande s'il serait possible de consacrer un espace uniquement pour ces grosses valises, à l'extérieur de la chambre à coucher mais facilement accessible. Durant mon séjour de quatre nuits j'ai compté peut-être 8 de ces maxi valises, dont 3 ou 4 sur une même nuit.

• we were hanging out in the common area until 3am and no one asked us to leave which was really nice! we had a great time. • the area seemed pretty safe when we were there! • the staff, i unfortunately don't know their names, was really nice. three funny girls!!

• the light in the bathrooms was sooo bad! we couldn't do our makeup properly which was annoying. there was better light in the subway station lol! • you also can't change in the toilet stall without touching the toilet the whole time since they're really small.

situato in una posizione comoda, in soli 20minuti a piedi arrivi in centro. i bunk bed sono attrezzati con lucina, presa elettrica e porta oggetti, vicino al letto hai l'armadietto chiuso a chiave con la chiave magnetica. le pulizie vengono fatte giornalmente ovviamente resta pulito di più se gli ospiti sono educati e puliti

purtroppo è capitato qualcuno che pensava di essere a casa propria e che faceva le telefonate alle 22.00 di sera; inoltre c'è stata una persona che era ubriaca che ha portata dentro all'ostello una persona estranea che non poteva dormire qui! ovviamente non è colpa di chi gestisce l'ostello ma volevo segnalare che ci sono delle persone incivili che non hanno rispetto per gli altri

I very much liked this hostel. Friendly staff, nice room, clean also loved this place has a small gym. 😊 Can absolutely recommend this place.

Only small improvement i can think of is if it was a small shelf in the beds for small things and glasses. But this is just small details.

Beautiful, the beds are comfy and the showers are nice

The bathrooms are small and mixed, I get the bedroom being mixed but the bathroom makes a bit uncomfortable ( specially because the toilets and showers are in the same room). There was no free drinking water, which for me was kind of crazy (€3 for a small can).

Guy at the CheckIn was friendly. The reception room is very nice

Price was way too high for what you get. 530 euros for two nights in a very small double room. Paying 1 euro on top for shower gel. The guy bringing us to the storage room was the whole way on his smart phone watching tiktok or reels. That’s not cool, that’s cringe.

banyolarda sabun ve şampuan için ekstra ücret ödeyip almanız gerekiyor. oysa ki günlük konaklama ücreti zaten yeterince yüksek. günlük konaklamaya 2 euro daha ekleyip dahil etseler herkes daha memnun kalır. odalar çok soğuktu klima ayarı bir türlü sağlıklı çalışamadı söyledik ama nafile.çok kötü bir ütüleri var. bir ütü ne kadar olabilir ki. neden değiştirmiyorlar onu da anlamadım.

Clean, friendly staff, about 10-15 minute walk to shops and main attractions.

The rooms had a motion sensor light that turned on anytime someone came in the room or got out of bed. There were a few guests that liked to pack their bags at 2am which made it hard to sleep even with there being a curtain. A sleep mask is a must. (To fellow backpackers, take your bag outside the room to pack)

The staff was really friendly and the reception was beautiful to stay and relax a little bit. A nice plus is that the hostel had a fitness center to work out.

We had to put and collect our own bed sheets, I mean, really? Do I need to clean the floor as well? I don't think that's fair and the stay wasn't exactly cheap. Also the shared bathrooms were way too small for that many people. Also the bed curtains would close completely.

Localisation

Location was a bit off the busiest area of Amsterdam but with the tramway system, close enough to everything I needed. I liked this as I wanted to stay in a quieter area to relax and then get busy when i wanted to. Staff was helpful.. always accommodating.. fun.. knew Amsterdam and if they couldn't answer a question would find out. I was at the hostel for awhile and was always greeted with a smile. Loved the large lounge area comfortable and inviting to hang out. As well restaurants, zoo, museums all within walking or short tram ride. I am a bird photographer so nearby park was a plus to sit with the birds. I ended up meeting people at the park who would feed the parakeets.

Not sure the Elephant hostel can do anything but cellphones... everyone is on their phones so there is less opportunity to speak to fellow travellers. This might sound highschoolish but how about designated cell phone free hours or some kind of programming that engages people. Staff was very helpful in heating prepared meals but i feel like more information can be given as to using this aspect of the hostel.. for example.. I bought eggs to find out that there was no way to cook them.. maybe expand the cooking facilities to make it more efficient. I ended up watching some of the world cup on the reception desk computer along with others crowded around the computer.. your in the hosting business... for such a major world event it would have made more sense to rent a tv. Definitely something to improve is some more closet/hanging space for shoes and clothes in each room as their is lots of unused space... but I know this needs to be designed carefully so it doesn't become a mess.

Auberge de jeunesse très sympathique, lit confortable avec rideaux et clim présente dans tout l'établissement. Possibilité de faire réchauffer des plats au bar de la salle commune. A environ 15/20 min à pied du centre ville, cela se fait très bien.

Les rideaux des lits ne ferment pas jusqu'au bout ce qui est dommage. La lumière dans la chambre est en automatique et s'allume un peu trop souvent la nuit.

Small rooms, but it is a hostel

The AC is good, the dorms are quiet and bedding is of good quality. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The building is itself beautiful and the common space looks like a museum.

A kitchenette would be nice. Cafe prices could be lower at least for residents.

Clean and comfortable. Great facilities with a small gym, great reception/lounge area. Pod style dorm beds which I like

Had to make the bed when I arrived late at midnight, which was difficult to do quietly. Automatic sensor lights that come on in the dorms which was helpful when you wanted to unpack, or get up to the toilet etc but they were quite bright so I was woken a few times when other people were moving around the dorm.

Locatie is top, personeel is heel aardig en het was echt brandschoon.

Voor dat geld mag je wel iets meer van een driepersoonskamer verwachten. Derde bed was gewoon een slaapbank, matrassen waren doorgelegen, je moet je eigen bed opmaken en ook weer afhalen als je uitcheckt en op de kamer is maar 1 klein mini prullenbakje. Daarnaast wordt de kamer niet schoongemaakt tijdens je verblijf en de enige prullenbak die er is, dus ook niet geleegd.

I really liked that the restroom had individual shower stalls and individual toilet stalls. The room fit 24 beds but did not feel crammed. The locker was a good size and could fit a big personal bag. I liked that the key card was used to open the locker. Also great that each bed had curtains. The staff were so friendly and helpful! There was also a tram right outside the hostel which was very convenient.

The room got very stuffy and the air was stale/stinky. There was a sign that the windows were not to be opened. I think airing out the room would be beneficial since it can get quite musty with 24 people in the room. On our last day someone opened the windows to air out the room and it helped tremendously.

Un excelente lugar, muy fácil moverse por la ciudad, y muchos lugares cercanos para ir a comer, además las personas de Administración son muy amables, siempre dispuestas a ayudar las 24 horas, ya que tuve que trabajar un momentos y me vendieron comida las 3 am y siempre dieron su 100%

O hostel é lindo, tudo clean e cheiroso. A recepção é maravilhosa uma verdadeira obra de arte associada a mobília clean.

O tamanho dos quartos e ter que fazer a própria cama. Eu nunca tinha ficado em hostel. Paguei bem caro por um quarto com 3 camas e um banheiro no nosso quarto somente para nós … mas o quarto é MINÚSCULO - em 3 ficou complicadíssimo. E fazer a própria cama pagando o que paguei achei um absurdo.

A pesar de mi edad, estoy muy joven jajaj tengo 65 años es la primera vez que llego a un Hostal. He ido 7 veces a Amsterdam y siempre me había hospedado en un hotel y ahora por cuestiones económicas lo hice con ustedes. Fue una experiencia muy positiva. Los felicito por el personal que tienen...todos me ayudaron, todos estaban al pendiente de mi, todos siempre con una disposición y empatía muy alta...estén orgullosos de su personal. Mercedez la argentina super amable y siempre...siempre al pendiente de uno, había otra chica que no recuerdo su nombre jajaj pero 3 de ellas miden igual y se peinan con el cabello suelto y yo con gafas pues imaginense mi poder para ubicar personas! el chico de Brasil super amable y también el de Paises Bajos y que incluso se esforzaba para hablar en español. Increible el equipo que tienen!!!!!! Que la empresa esté orgullosa del team que tienen (hasta el turco de recepción por la noche también super amable). Gracias por esta semana y el area de recepción elegante y cómoda.

Great stay for those seeking peace and great design! Pros: - Design & Atmosphere: Beautifully designed building (inside and out) with a calm, peaceful vibe. - Staff & Cleanliness: Spotless clean, incredibly friendly staff, and a nice free welcome drink. - Facilities: Great to have an on-site gym; it's small but sufficient. - Location: Super convenient—only 10 minutes to the Central Station via a direct tram or walking.

Cons / Tips: - Showers can get a bit crowded during peak hours. - The gym is nice, but the ventilation needs improvement. - Bike rentals at the hostel are quite expensive. It’s much smarter and safer to get a public transportation pass instead.

El hostel esta bien para alojarse y cuenta con una buena comodidad para llegar a los puntos mas importantes. En realacion a otras ciudades, el precio de la estadia es bastante elevado, pero esto creo se debe a toda la ciudad y las ofertas de hospedaje. Es recomendable alojarse en el hostel.

The people above were loud and when they walked around it was so loud it would wake you up. It wasn’t that clean. Maybe a 3/10. The room was TINY. Bed was okay. Had to make your own bed. Couldn’t adjust the AC yourself, had to go to reception.

Super recomendable. Se encuentra en un barrio muy lindo y tranquilo, se llega al centro caminando en unos 20 minutos. Los baños están muy limpios y la habitacion estaba muy limpia. Tienen un lugar para guardar equipaje sin costo. Todo el personal fue muy amable

In meinem Zimmer musste man sich oben bei den Betten immer ducken, aber dafür war man da oben nur zu dritt und hatte einen Spiegel mit Stühlen

A estrutura do Hostel é excelente, tem academia, lavanderia, é muito bonito o ambiente, lençóis e toalhas super limpos, banheiros bem separados e organizados, tudo muito bom! A localização também é boa, da pra ir caminhando para alguns lugares, e em outros da pra ir de Tram, tem um ponto bem ao lado.

No segundo dia o box de banho tava com um cheiro levemente ruim. Por ser de uso coletivo pode ser normal, não sei. Mas se der pra reforçar a limpeza ficaria melhor ainda.
