Le fait de pouvoir loger en famille à 4 dans un seule chambre : c'est rare dans un hôtel ! Le petit déjeuner était très copieux, avec beaucoup de choix, et le sauna et les bains chauds sur le toit sont particulièrement agréables. Les enfants ont beaucoup apprécié de déjeuner avec la vue sur Amsterdam, et de prendre un petit bain sur la terrasse.

L'eau des bains chauds n'était pas super propre.

Wij waren zeer verbaasd dat de bar, boven om 23.15 al gesloten was. Beneden was er ook niks meer te krijgen en daar werden we juist doorverwezen naar boven. Boven hing geen bordje of niks; de deur zat gewoon dicht. Niemand reageerde op ons kloppen of iets. Eenmaal weer beneden vertelden ze ons dat de bar inderdaad dicht was. Het was toen nog voor 23.30. Dat verwacht je toch niet van een hotel???? Wij vonden het bizar

Terzo letto in realtà da "costruire" con piccolo materasso da posizionare sul divano . Letto matrimoniale senza possibilità di spazio ai lati. Solo per clientela giovane.

Location was great.

1) There was a wrongful amount of chloride in the hottubs. Not only unhealthy, but mine and my daughters bathing suits are completely ruined. I just bought them new and the colors are completely faded. My daughters bathing suit was purple and mine dark green as you can see on the inside of the bikini in the picture. After informing this by checkout, the manager would contact us. We haven’t received anything. It’s been almost 3 days now. 2) In the restaurant they forgot to serve us (8 people) on multiple occasions, both drinks and food. Although the manager was trying to make it up with us: it is not okay to wait 1.5 hours for dinner, and than inform us another hour later that they forgot to tell us kitchen is closed and dessert is not possible. End up giving us an option for chocolate mouse, but then again forget to serve us the beers that we ordered. 3) there was a curtain thing in front of the bathroom was very dirty. 4) booked here through booking only to discover that the same room was almost 90 euros cheaper through their own website. Tried both through the hotel and Booking to solve that issue prior to our stay, but kept being told that they wouldn’t price match. We’ve booked 2 rooms: one for friends and one for out family. Overpaid 180 + having to buy new bathing suits makes this hotel not worth it’s money. Although staff behind the reception was very friendly, other staff is rude and made us feel very unwelcome.

I likef that it's not too formal, I liked the rooftop sauna, the cafe downstairs and the restaurant. It was located right meet to a metro station

Struttura molto accogliente ricca di servizi come il bar e il ristorante ottimi! Curato l’allestimento e l’arredo, veramente di buon gusto e molto giovanile. La camera molto bella, pulitissima e di dimensioni discrete. Rapporto qualità prezzo veramente eccellente! La posizione è leggermente decentrata, ma ha la metro a due passi che ti permette di arrivare dappertutto.

Wooden stools were fine and functional, but would have enjoyed a comfortable seat to relax in. A small fridge adds so much utility value to a hotel room.

Wir haben Einzelbetten angefragt, erhielten diese jedoch nicht. Beim Check-Out wurden wir vom Personal eiskalt ignoriert, weshalb wir, nach 20 Minuten warten, einfach ohne Check-Out gegangen sind, um den Flug nicht zu verpassen.

Dobra lokalizacja, łatwy dojazd z i na lotnisko, 3 osobowe studio z fajnym designem i wyposażeniem. Cicha i bezpieczna okolica. Możliwość wypożyczenia roweru na miejscu. Stacja metra pod samym hotelem. Market bardzo blisko. Wszystko zgodnie z opisem i zdjęciami.

El hotel era muy agradable, con una cafetería muy animada, y con muy buena comunicación al centro de Amsterdam. El personal era amable y las habitaciones cómodas.

Me hubiera gustado que desde la habitación no se oyera tanto el sonido de los baños de los pisos superiores y sobretodo, me hubiera gustado disponer de una pequeña tetera, para por lo menos hacer alguna infusión en la habitación.

The worst Hotel room i have seen above 160€ night. 12 squareM2. No view from the room. No making of our bed because our charger was in the bed (view picture). The room was quiet tho. All in all, disapointed.

L’emplacement est vraiment pratique, à seulement quelques minutes du centre en métro. Le parking est également un vrai plus. Dès l’arrivée, l’ambiance de l’hôtel est très agréable et le personnel est sympathique. La chambre était magnifique, très atypique et originale, tout en étant confortable et parfaitement équipée. Il ne manquait vraiment rien.

Loved the bed, very comfortable. The rooftop bar and hot tub/bar was super cool and we loved eating breakfast in the lobby every morning.

I didn't like the pole shelving. We had nowhere but the floor to place our luggage. I would have preferred to couple of folding luggage racks over the pole shelving. Also, I would have preferred a more private shower, even though 2/3rd of the shower was covered.

Une légère odeur désagréable en provenance de la salle de bains en fin de journée mais rien d’insupportable. Une bouilloire aurait été un petit plus afin de pouvoir se préparer une boisson chaude.

**A Wonderful Stay at Volkshotel Amsterdam** I truly enjoyed my stay at Volkshotel Amsterdam — it exceeded my expectations in every way! The room was modern, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with lovely colors and excellent air conditioning. I originally chose the hotel mainly because of its convenient location near my son’s football training, but I quickly discovered that the area itself was one of the things I loved most. It is in a more residential part of Amsterdam, away from the very busy city center, with a lovely atmosphere and a mix of students, professionals, and local life. I especially loved the lobby. I loved the decoration : here and then old tv, old dactilo, the warm furniture design..... It feels like a café and a social space all in one. On the right, there is a quiet working area that almost feels like being in a university library, while on the left there is a warm living area with delicious croissants and great coffee by the way. One of our highlights was breakfast at the restaurant on the 7th floor — absolutely delicious, and my son and I really enjoyed it. We also loved the hot tubs on the 8th floor, which were such a wonderful way to relax after a busy day and even at 7 am in the morning to begin our summer days with good energy. Overall, Volkshotel gave us much more than just a place to stay. It had a great atmosphere, beautiful design, excellent facilities, and a real sense of community. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it! ❤️

I honestly loved everything about my stay. If I had to mention one small thing, it would be the housekeeping schedule. I’m more used to towels being changed automatically every one or two days, especially towels for the showers and hot tubs. Here, cleaning was scheduled every four days unless requested, so I would have preferred a more frequent automatic towel change, perhaps every two days.

This place was amazing! We will be back!

La struttura è ubicata in una ottima posizione vicina alla metropolitana, con buoni servizi. Staff molto gentile e accogliente.

Die Lage ist perfekt für einen Urlaub in Amsterdam. Die Metrostation liegt gleich neben dem Hotel. Das Personal ist super freundlich. Am Frühstücksbuffet findet jeder was und dann noch der 360Grad Ausblick über Amsterdam auf der Restaurantterrasse. Das Restauarant ist auch für das Abendessen empfehlenswert.

Insgesamt waren wir mit unserem Aufenthalt im Volkshotel sehr zufrieden. Alles war gut, entsprach unseren Erwartungen und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Der einzige größere Kritikpunkt war das sehr kleine Waschbecken im Badezimmer. Es war schwierig, sich dort bequem die Hände oder das Gesicht zu waschen, ohne dass Wasser auf den Boden spritzte. Ein etwas größeres Waschbecken wäre deutlich praktischer gewesen. Außerdem hätten wir uns eine Kaffeemaschine in der Küche gewünscht. Abgesehen davon war alles sehr gut und wir können das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

La Decoration, le cadre la terrasse de toit avec les bains et le sauna, tout ça pour le même prix et le grand bar en bas qui est très beau. C’est moderne et c’est propre et très bien placé à 50 m de la bouche de métro.

La habitación es amplia y estaba limpia. Buenas vistas y luminosa. Las camas cómodas. Se puede ir andando al centro siguiendo el canal Amstel y también hay metro cerca que te lleva directo.

Sin querer generalizar, el personal con el que tratamos no fue especialmente agradable. La chica que nos atendió en recepción no fue muy simpática, tuvimos un problema momentáneo con el pago con tarjeta y parecía que le molestaba mucho, sus respuestas cortas y secas te hacían sentir incómodo. También tuvimos problemas con otra chica en el desayuno, mi hija es alérgica a la leche y pedimos si podrían hacernos un revuelto sin leche (el que había tenía leche), su respuesta fue que no podía ser y que había muchas opciones veganas. Las opciones veganas podían servir para una adulto (ensaladas, hummus, etc.) pero para una niña de 6 años no eran muy atractivas, por esa razón pedimos un revuelto. Al final tuvimos que pedir la hoja de reclamaciones y entonces cambió de actitud y nos hicieron el revuelto e incluso vino el cocinero a pedir disculpas.

Tolle Atmosphäre, super Lage, Röder für 15 Euro am Tag. Parkplatz für 30 Euro/d. Total nettes Personal. Zimmerupgrade erhalten, sehr schönes Zimmer. Reinigung der Zimmer nur jeden dritten Tag ist völlig ausreichend.

Frühstück für 16 Euro nicht überragend aber ok

Tout. L'accueil, les équipements, la propreté, la serviabilité du personnel, leur réactivité si besoin (l'ampoule des wc avait lâché et a été remplacée très rapidement), l’ambiance. Aussi, la possibilité de laisser ses bagages en stockage lors de notre dernière journée, et ceci gratuitement. Très pratique.

Hipster Hotel, einfach aber ok. Hatten ein Familienzimmer, klein aber ausreichend. Alles da was man braucht. Am Dach gibt es Hot pots wo man noch ein wenig entspannen kann. Frühstück ist auch sehr gut und preislich ok. Für die Kinder gab es z.B. Pancakes. Freundliches Personal.

Das Zimmer wird standardmäßig nicht jeden Tag gereinigt. Könnte man irgendwo hinschreiben. Für 4 Personen gibt es kaum ausreichend Platz die Handtücher aufzuhängen - wenn diese allerdings nicht gewechselt werden braucht es Platz um diese aufzuhängen damit sie trocknen können. An der Rezeption wurde uns mitgeteilt dass die Kinder (5 und 7) nichts fürs Frühstück zahlen; verrechnet wurde es dann aber doch. Fair enough aber ich möchte mich auf die Infos die ich vom Hotelpersonal bekomme verlassen können.

La struttura è davvero bellissima, ben organizzata, moderna e inclusiva. La posizione è comoda per i servizi principali: c'è un supermercato a meno di 100 metri e la fermata della metropolitana si trova proprio davanti all'ingresso. Inoltre, anche le camere di categoria inferiore (le più economiche), che potrebbero sembrare essenziali sulla carta, si sono rivelate in realtà spaziose, confortevoli e un'ottima scelta.

Ho purtroppo sottovalutato la posizione complessiva rispetto alle attrazioni principali. Nonostante la comodità di avere la metro esattamente davanti al portone, servono comunque circa 25-30 minuti di tragitto per raggiungere i luoghi di maggior interesse

Habitació per 4 persones molt àmplia i acollidora. Molt bon ambient a tot l’hotel! Un plaer estar a les seves instal·lacions i llegir tranquil·lament, fer un cafè, un pastís o treballar (si no estàs de vacances). A la darrera planta hi ha una terrassa amb sauna i tres jacuzzis exteriors de fusta pels clients. Hi ha jocs disponibles. Just al davant d’una estació de metro. Molt a prop del centre. Tenen pàrquing (30€ al dia) i lloguer de bicicletes.

A strange hotel—the room décor felt very "cold." The family room lacked a door for the bathroom/shower area! Instead, there was just a curtain made of metal strands. The toilet (which was separate) felt more like something out of a prison (though I’ve never actually been to one) than a hotel... There wasn't even a kettle (admittedly, I hadn't checked beforehand if one was included, but I assumed it was standard). The hotel seems geared more towards parties than family stays. There was a very unpleasant surprise at the end of our stay, too: our car was damaged in the hotel parking lot—the rear window was smashed. I must give credit to the receptionist, though; he was kind enough to help us find a place for a temporary repair (and didn't charge us for parking). Still, I certainly won't be coming back to this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights in July 2026 as a family of four. We stayed in a family room. The rooms have either a king size bed or two twin beds in the bottom and a large bed as a bunkbed on top. The room is spacious and clean. It is near subways and walking distance to downtown Amsterdam. We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel too. The vibes are also very nice.

The location is great, its clean and the staff is friendly.

There was no tooth brush and vanity kit in the rooms, no telephone in room which means no service, so if you needed anything you had to go to the reception. I thought it was strange and it didn’t make sense value for money.

とてもモダンでクリエイティブなアムステルダムらしいデザイン。スタッフは親切。このクオリティでこの価格は他のヨーロッパの都市でもなかなか見つからない。近隣は観光地の中心部ではないローカルのおしゃれな人がいるエリア。

部屋によると思うが、私の部屋のレイアウトは柱の位置が少しだけ邪魔でした。でも一人なのでそこまで問題にはならなかった。

I have stayed here a few years back and only looked at staying here for this trip as I still have fond memories. The staff our top, the room so comfy, the general ambience such a comfortable vibe and breakfast so delicious.

The room was perhaps one of the smallest we've stayed in but undoubtedly the best.. a clever mix of design, quality materials and stunning natural light. Cannot wait to stay again. The bed (and our sleep) was really comfortable. Very happy, thank you.

Amazing accomodation, really comfortable, perfect for our 5 night stay (family of 3 plus dog). Everything we needed and easy to get into and around Amsterdam. Restaurant and cafe also great.

Sehr schöne und moderne Unterkunft

A perfect location for exploring Amsterdam and getting to other places like Haarlem. The bed was perfection and the room really kept out any noise from outside. I had absolutely wonderful sleep for my whole stay. The rooftop sauna and hot tubs were a fantastic bonus. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. It was a truly magical stay!

The hotel was perfect and because the metro was literally outside the hotel I felt super safe travelling alone in the dark. There were a few ‘characters’ hanging around on the streets outside but as long as you are sensible I don’t think they would be any trouble.

La vue de la chambre est très agréable et sans vis-à-vis. Insonorisation TB. Propreté irréprochable. Le resto et les jacuzzis rooftop rajoutent à la qualité de cet hôtel. Ambiance sympa en famille ou pas. Cela vaut la peine d'être un peu excentré. Le prix est à la hauteur aussi.

Un prix un peu élevé. Il manquait 2 tabourets pour la chambre de 4 personnes et des oreillers supplémentaires. Une bouilloire pour le thé/café du matin aurait été un petit plus sympa.

L’hôtel insults de superbes services, l’emplacement est parfait et la deco est top!

This was our second stay with you and we love it just as much as the first time, such a great hotel:)

People not sharing the hot tubs even after waiting 30 minutes with our two children, so this was really frustrating for them, and felt a bit unfair that people saw us waiting but wouldn’t offer to share.

The Volkshotel is not just a hotel, but is a cafe/restaurant/event/work space. I traveled with my two kids and we found the hotel to be a fun, unique environment. The breakfast buffet is a great value and was very good with super friendly staff. We ate a big breakfast every morning and head out on our day. The hotel is also right next to a metro stop, 4 stops to Centraal station, which was very useful for us.

We stayed in a room that had a mezzanine, so there was one bed upstairs on the floor with a shower and then a sofa on the main floor with sheets and blanket to be used as a bed. Two things I'll point out for anyone traveling with smaller kids: the mezzanine bed has a net on one side and open space between bars on the other side which could be easy to fall through to the floor below. We used pieces of the sofa downstairs to create a barrier on the open side so as to minimize any chances of rolling off. And second thing is that while the shower was great (great water pressure etc) the door is just glass, so completely see-through and not a lot of space to get privacy. We worked around this by making sure to be downstairs and in no line-of-sight of the shower =) (I have a boy and a girl who were mortified by this). The toilet though is downstairs with a regular door. I think the main thing to note for families with kids booking here is to call and ask how the room is set up so there are no safety concerns. Otherwise, I think the Volkshotel is a wonderful place to stay!

J’ai aimé le studio à l’écart des chambres qui donnait un sentiment d’espace et de confort . Le restaurant au 7eme étage était sympa et le bad plaats ( jacuzzi sur le toit) offre un moment de relaxation hors du commun.

La deco des couloirs est trop sombre. Apportez de la couleur à la deco intérieur et ce sera top .

A stylish and creative hotel in a fantastic neighborhood, surrounded by great cafés and restaurants. The location was excellent, with easy access to public transport and many attractions within walking distance. We loved the unique concept of transforming what was clearly an office building into a vibrant, artistic hotel. The lobby and café had a wonderful atmosphere and were full of people working remotely, which gave the place a lively, creative vibe.

The cleanliness could definitely be improved. There was quite a lot of dust, especially on the upper bunk bed where our children slept and underneath the bed frame. We stayed in a family room, which otherwise suited our needs well. It is also worth noting that the rooms do not have a refrigerator. Another point to consider is the bathroom design: the shower is completely enclosed in clear glass and offers virtually no privacy, while the toilet is in a separate room. This may be an interesting design choice for couples, but in a family room it felt rather impractical. Even a simple frosted film on the glass would make a big difference and provide much more privacy without changing the overall design.
