Location was good it was very close to the center. The main reason of my stay was to take the cruise multiple times easily but the schedule of it wasn’t informed well. Crew was helpful, if you were able to find them! I found rooms quite compact and fine for this price, but I think it should be emphasized that some of the rooms didn’t have window. Breakfast was okay. The communal areas were good if you like to socialize with other guests. It didn’t felt unsafe not to lock the door when you left.

When we first arrived there one of the staff criticized the number of luggages we have I wasn’t expecting such an attitude for the first interaction, it didn’t felt comfortable after that interaction during rest of my stay. The information provided about the cruise can be improved

Une façon atypique de séjourner 😃. La cabine était toute petite mais très bien agencée. Les sanitaires très propres. Café et thé à disposition H24. Personnel très agréable et prêt à renseigner. Petit-déjeuner correct et une croisière comprise dans le séjour.

Peut-être qu’un coup d’aspirateur sur le sol de la cabine (un genre de moquette) aurait été bienvenu.

La comunicazione con il personale non è sempre facile, sono un po' sfuggenti. Se non avete richieste è un pregio il fatto di essere completamente liberi di entrare, uscire e girare a proprio piacimento. Volevo capire di più rispetto alle crociere e, alla fine, tutto è andato a finire inu una bolla (avevamo comunicato via mail). Pulizia nei bagni migliorabile!

Era un'esperienza unica e molto interessante dato che la struttura era un "boatel" (barca del 1959), quindi le stanze erano cabine, alcune senza oblò e i servizi in comune. Il capitano e tutto lo staff simpaticissimi e super-gentilissimi. Colazione abbondante e tè, caffè e frutta fresca disponibile a tutte le ore. La mini-crociera per i fjordi intorno all'isola di Tromso è stata fantastica, come pure il bacalao che ci hanno servito con niente meno che la focaccia!! (alla Mediterranea!). Più adatto a persone che viaggiano da sole o che hanno uno spirito di avventura e di adattamento.

Loved that I was able to take the cruise the following day as part of my stay, the location was also perfect being so close to all the places I wanted to visit.

We are a travel agency and people abandoned the hotel - already paid - so it is easy to see that they hated everything. Nothing as it is on the pictures. Please, pay attention before making the reservation.

We are a travel agency and we booked this place for an exta night for our travellers. The moment they arrived they had the feelling that they were not in the place that the lodge shows (probably taken on the first day when oppened) and also, nobody was there to receive them. The moment finally someone arrived and took them to the rooms - already paid - they saw that the hotel was a mess, disorganized and dirty - even in their rooms - with no conditions to stay and, all the people - 9 people - abandoned the place and had to go to other hotel, where they paid another night. It would be great if Booking had a better way to control this kind of places, as what is showed and what is it, it is completely different.

Die Unterkunft ist ein altes klassisches Küstenschiff mit viel Atmosphäre. Vieles an Bord ist noch original, aber nicht alles. Die Lage im Hafen von Tromsö ist wunderschön.

Die Kabinen sind winzig, aber das war uns bewusst. Leider wirkt das gesamte Schiff und die Inneneinrichtung, die teils aus zusammengewürfelten Möbeln besteht, nicht gut gepflegt.

Recientemente nos alojamos 3 noches en este encantador apartamento y fue una elección muy acertada. Desde el primer momento nos sentimos como en casa. Está perfectamente equipado, no le falta absolutamente nada; la cocina, en particular, es muy completa y práctica. La ubicación es inmejorable, en una zona llena de restaurantes. Sin duda, una opción totalmente recomendable.

nun ja, es ist eine günstige Unterkunft mit Frühstück im Herzen der Stadt. man kann es sich vorher nicht vorstellen wenn man noch nie auf einem Kutter aus den 50iger Jahren war. Am Ende weiß man, mit wie wenig Platz man eigentlich auskommen kann. Also sehr lehrreich diese Erfahrung gemacht zu haben. Leider ziemlich hellhörig... übrigens tagsüber gibt es Ausfahrten. Bedeutet wenn man verpasst auszusteigen vor Abfahrt, ist man dabei. Und das kann sehr interessant werden und war es dann auch. Habe viel erlebt, die Crew bei der Arbeit beobachten können und mit ihnen viel Spaß gehabt und erlebt.

Quite a unique experience to stay on a boat. The mattress and duvet were very comfortable. The boat was quite aged. The cruise is included in your stay, but do note that they do not sail every day as is said in the intro message. I heard that only sailed 2 times a week, not twice a day as it was mentioned Simple breakfast was included which was nice. Shared toilets were kept clean.

It’s cool to sleep on a boat. If you disagree, don’t even consider this.

Didn’t get the room I booked. Staff were polite but cold. No ventilation in the rooms means constantly adjusting the radiator. Breakfast was provided but very minimal. The cruise schedule online is misleading, so you may arrive to find out no cruises are occurring.

Das Personal war hilfsbereit und nett, manchmal hat man niemanden gefunden. Die Lage war gut, innerhalb von 10 Minuten zu Fuß war man in der Innenstadt.

Die Badezimmer waren dreckig. In meiner Zimmerlampe hingen Haare. Das Bett ist für Personen ab 1,80m zu kurz. Es gibt eine Dusche für das gesamte Boot. Das Frühstück war teilweise nicht ansprechend, es gab eine Sorte Brot und von warmen Frühstück gab es bei den Tagen einmal Rührei und Bacon. Es gibt zwei Teesorten zur Auswahl.

You can meet and talk with other guests at the lounge. Everyone had the same purpose for their trip, which was to see the northern lights, so we could share information and photos about where to see them.

There is a shower room on the boat. But no changing room with it.

You need to make sure that you make it clear on advertising when you do a cruise sail! It's not so clear on your website or booking.com that it's a bit misleading

The location is excellent; the advantage of this accommodation is its central location and the breakfast they offer. It's one of the few budget accommodations in Tromso. The staff is friendly... the captain, not so much.

The ship is very small and old, docked in a private area accessible on foot through a gate. If you arrive by taxi, you must specify that they take you past the parking gate, otherwise, you'll find yourself far away with your bags in the snow. If you have a lower cabin, you'll have to struggle to carry them up and down, as the space is very narrow and there's a gangway (sometimes also a ladder) connecting the ship to the shore. My cabin had no windows, and the floor space was perhaps 1 square meter. There was no internet service in the cabin. Water pooled in the shower...there was carpet on the floor, which isn't very hygienic. Cruise schedules aren't always reliable; if you have a flight to catch, don't count on the ship being on time to retrieve your luggage. It was supposed to return at 2:30 PM, and at 3:10 PM it still wasn't there...no one answered the phone or texted. It's better to have ample time. It is a good solution if you need a clean bed where to sleep and you don't want to spend too much money.

No me gustó nada en absoluto el desayuno bastante pobre. El barco era superviejo parecía de desguace. Nunca había estado en un lugar así. No recuerdo en absoluto lo que pagué pero seguro que demasiado para la calidad que encontré.

Keinerlei Ablagemöglichkeit in der Kabine,weder Stuhl,noch ein Haken,mussten inder winzigen Kabine unsere Sachen auf den dreckigen Fußboden legen.Wollten stornieren,aber es hat sich niemand bei uns zurückgemeldet und vor Ort war keiner zuständig.Auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen.Man wirbt bei Booking mit einer Fjordtour,die aber leider nicht stattfindet. .

Ich habe sehr gut geschlafen. Normalerweise schlafe ich in Hotels nicht besonders gut, aber hier auf dem Schiff habe ich wie ein Baby geschlafen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war auch sehr gut: Eier, Bacon, Käse, Gurken, Brunost – alles sehr lecker. Die Atmosphäre an Bord war sehr freundlich und herzlich. Ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt und meinen Aufenthalt wirklich genossen.

En mi camarote individual se estaba, calentito y se dormía súper bien con el nórdico. Me gustó todo!!!

Los desayunos a veces eran un poco flojos de alimentos… Dentro del crucero de día qué me pertenecía por dormir allí, fueron cuatro horas y eché en falta, algún picoteo o catering sólo les servían a los del tour del cangrejo, el resto de personas, huéspedes, nada 😔 sólo té/café etc…

Staff was friendly and happy to help. Cabins were small but functional as expected on this kind of boat. Breakfast was generous and tasty. I was happy with my stay 😊 Docs where boat is parked are lovely near the centre , easy access by buss from the airport .

It’s unique and fun sleeping on a ship. It is nice that there are only a few guests which gives you the opportunity to meet people over breakfast. You have to be prepared to climb in and out of your bed. Basically, climbing into the top bunk without a bottom bunk or ladder to climb up with. I’m agile, so didn’t have a problem. I had a sink in my room, but you do need to use a shared toilet and shower. I never had an issue with not being able to use either because it was being used. The night I checked in I saw northern lights above the boat.

The captain and staff are not always professional with their interactions with guests. The breakfast is good, but nothing special.

klimatyczny statek, praktycznie w samym centrum miasta. świetna lokalizacja. Nie jest to jednak przygoda dla każdego. Zwłaszcza zimą. Statek ma już swojej lata i nie wszystko jest w super stanie. Dodatkowo trzeba się liczyć z tym że do toalety trzeba wyjść poza swoją kabinę. W niektórych przypadkach nawet na zewnątrz statku.

Ich habe schon in einigen Hotels in Tromsø übernachtet und suchte nach etwas neuem, speziellem. Die 2 Nächte auf der Fjord Explorer waren super! Gute Lage, in 3 min in der Vervet (dem neuen Hafenviertel), am Arctic Gate und der floating Sauna, die Aussicht vom Aussendeck auf die Tromsø-Bridge toll. Das Schiff ist kein super ordentliches Hotelboot das nur im Hafen steht - es fährt auch für Fishing-trips etc. raus und sieht dementsprechend aus. Es ist dadurch aber sehr authentisch. Die Kabinen sind sehr klein, aber gepflegt, Dusche, WCs funktionieren einwandfrei und sind immer sauber. In der Kabine gibts 1 Ventilator, 1 Steckdose, Duschtücher. Der Aufenthaltsraum/Frühstücksraum, ist schön gross und schön, dass man immer Kaffee/Heisse Schokolade bekommt. Das Frühstück war in Buffetform und absolut ausreichend, wurde auch immer wieder aufgefüllt. Der Kontakt über Booking im Vorfeld war super, alle Fragen wurden beantwortet.

Bei der Buchung habe ich eine Kabine gebucht, die mir sehr gefiel, leider habe ich diese nicht bekommen (ohne Erklärung warum nicht). Achtung: es gibt Zimmer ohne Fenster - bei der Buchung darauf achten. Bei der Ankunft wurde ich von sehr sympatischen Mitarbeitern begrüsst (ein paar aus den Philippinen), sie haben mir alles erklärt und gezeigt und ich hatte auch interessante Gespräche während meines Aufenthalts. Eine andere Mitarbeiterin hat die Gäste leider gar nicht beachtet und nur einsilbig und widerwillig geantwortet wenn man sie direkt angesprochen hat. Schade. Grad beim auschecken den Captain noch angetroffen - ein richtig cooler Typ!

The absence of staff. There is no main reception so you can encounter and interact with housekeepers or kitchen staff.

Great experience it’s not everyday you get to spend a night on a boat in the Arctic Circle! Very warm at night despite snow and ice outside. Cozy and comfortable. Perfect location by the town centre and a short walk across the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral and cable car

L'aspetto rustico e autentico. La semplicità e l'autenticità. Lo staff è composto da persone sincere, non c'è quel clima anonimo che trovi nelle strutture ricettive. Si vede la fatica, la stanchezza e la gentilezza nonostante tutto.

No advance warning that the boat was impossible to find using Google maps, that the room would be down 3 flights of tiny, narrow, steep stairs, that you’d bang your head on way down, that the cell like room had had its window boarded so you in a cupboard, or advance warning about the ‘shower’

You get what you pay for here....and if you want the delight of a cabin on an old boat, this place is for you. If your looking for luxury you're in the wrong place. Most of the staff are gregarious and helpful and some stand out easily. The cabins are small but functional and the beds clean and comfortable. Mads captained a cruise along the fjord to catch King Crab made into a really tasty bisque.

Once a booking is confirmed...I would have found it helpful to know if and when cruises will take place during my stay. Not all things were as described in the booking information but it was not a mortal sin!

De hut was tot zoverre oké dat het warm er was met schoonbeddengoed.

De boot ligt achter een benzinestation aangemeerd. Niks leuk in de haven zoals zij suggereren op de foto. Er is geen personeel aanwezig en in onze hut was een andere dame aanwezig, zij claimde dezelfde boeking te hebben. Geen personeel of telefoon nummer om contact mee op te nemen. Het meubilair was oud en ongemakkelijk maar dat was onderdeel van de charme maar het was gewoon niet schoon en stof gezogen en de luxaflex hingen er stuk bij. De keuken was ronduit vies, het leek wel een slagveld. Het ontbijt pover en mager en als het dan nog gezond was, maar dat was absoluut niet het geval en zeker niet van deze tijd. Yoghurt met suiker, alleen wit brood, ontdooit in de magnetron zodat de korsten oneetbaar waren. Op de site wordt gratis fruit aangeboden maar geen stukje te bekennen. Wel gratis warm water.

Baño sucio e incómodo. La cama no es cómoda. Me asignaron la habitación 2, que da al exterior: es lindo porque podés salir y ver las auroras con solo abrir la puerta, pero para ir al baño tenés que meterte dentro del barco, incluso a −16 °C. El baño estaba sucio y es incómodo. El desayuno es muy, muy pobre.

Als je in hut 3 zit, moet je buitenom naar het toilet, ook bij -20! Ze gaan overdag gewoon op excursie, dus als je niet mee wil, moet je er op tijd (voor 10) vanaf.

Proximité avec le personnel de bord. Très bien situé, à côté du pont pour aller au téléphérique et voir la cathédrale arctique. Être sur place pour les croisières et la pêche aux King crabs. Plaisir de dormir sur un bateau.

# STAY AWAY FROM THIS VENUE # Completely disappointing experience - booked 2 days and actually stayed only 1 day. Reasons: - A number of cabins including mine (#3) are OUTSIDE cabins meaning there is no corridor to enter the room, room door opens outside to minus 10 degree. No info about it in the description - No toilet and no washing inside a room, only 1 shower in common area and 2 toilets for 12 cabins. Shower is small and cold, need to go back to room by the outside way with minus 10 C. - Slippery stairs to enter the boat; - Strong smell of engine oil inside the boat : - NO KEYS for any room (end no codes). You need to take your belongins as all doors are open 24/7. - Self-checkin means you go to a room without keys, codes etc - No gates / codes to enter the boat - anybody can enter the boat and any cabin. - Noisy surroundings as boat is parked at a port, with other boats moving in night time. - Poor breakfast with a plate of salami, plate of cheese and plate of cereals. - Photos given do not reflect dirty and messy conditions in common areas

Location in relation to town was great. However, the signage was not good.

Room was cold and promised cruise was not available. Information in the booking was that a customer could take a cruise in the morning or evening. The confirmation email with the cabin number did not say there would bed be no evening cruise on the night I was booked nor was there a cruise the following day so I feel like I paid for one and didn’t get it. Boat staff were not welcoming and didn’t give any information regarding the facilities (breakfast, cruise cancellations, shower facilities, etc. ) There was ice on the inside of the window.

The location was amazing with the view overlooking the mountain and port. The cabin was well lit and provided with clean towels / bed and proper heating. The check-in and check-out was hassle free. The dock was very close to the the city center and attractions, which can be covered by walking or taking a bus. Overall, it was a smooth sail and recommend the experience.

The only limitation I had on the last night of my stay in Cabin 3 was when the snow started to melt in combination with the rain, there were water droplets dripping at specific points from the overhead wooden board.
