Reviewed Mar 28, 2026The cottage looked even better than in the pictures. My family and I had a very comfortable stay. The place is very close to town and the 1820 Settlers' Monument. The place came equipped with amenities and extras to make our stay extra comfortable. The owner also made sure everything was set and ready before our arrival, and if we needed anything, she was just a call away. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will definitely book the property again should we travel to Makhanda
The stairs to the upper bedroom in the cottage were a little narrow and steep

The tiled floors are very cold without slippers. Not much they can do about it and I'm guessing it's lovely and cool in summer.

The lush garden provides a beauty so natural and enhanced privacy that it feels as though you're the only guest on the property. We took a long walk around the block and felt completely safe. The property is well located, a walking distance from the shops and restaurants and is located in an absolutely quiet street. We thoroughly enjoyed the personalised service offered - breakfast was served on our patio right on the clock, daily!
