Very clean and comfortable accomodation with spotlessly clean swimming pool. Lovely hosts and decent food. Close to the town, although little to do or see in the town. Our guide (Danu) picked us up from the bungalow for a day walk into the National Park.

The master is pretty nice and friendly. We checked out earlier because we were going to rainforest in the morning. Unfortunately, there's a heavy raining that day. Our body and Backpage got wet .the master let us come back to use bathroom and take a shower for free. Pretty appreciate!

It’s so hard to leave Healand! We had a phenomenal stay and felt so at home. Rane, his wife, & « jazz singer » are wonderful hosts. The meals, the pool, & our room were all exceptional.

If I could change one thing about my trip to Sri Lanka, it would be so stay at Healand A LOT longer than the one night we had. Stunning, serene and so beautifully peaceful. Staff and service was second to none and the food, the area, the birdwatching. No notes.

This.place is on a quiet side street with very little traffic. If you are a nature lover, this place is for you. Enjoy birds and plenty of wildlife sightings right from the comfort of the 2nd floor balcony. The pool is refreshing and crystal clear. Breakfast is delicious. Our room was nicely appointed and everything was new. The shower had very good hot water and good pressure. Deniyaya town center is about a 10 minute walk. I highly recommend this place. A real 5 star.

Proper rainforest location with lots of birds. Peaceful accommodation. Very welcoming staff and the food was incredible. Dinner was best we’d had in Sri Lanka. Owner can recommend a forest guide.

Eine wirklich ganz tolle Unterkunft mit fantastischen Gastgebern, kann man nur weiterempfehlen. Fantastisches Frühstück, sehr schöne Zimmer wunderbarer Pool tolle Umgebung.

Erg hartelijke ontvangst door vriendelijke eigenaar en zijn staf. De weg naar de locatie had ons niet doen vermoeden op zo'n mooi plekje terecht te komen. Lekker genieten in het zwembad van de fluitende vogels. Het door hun verzorgde diner was prima. De locatie is wat afgelegen maar dat was voor ons de reden het te kiezen.

Felt like a little paradise. The swimming pool was super nice and the dinner was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka! The hosts also gave us the contact for a rainforest tour guide. Sadly we could only stay for one night.

Location was a bit out of the way. But perfect for a stop over before seeing the rainforest.

Bijzonder netjes en schoon verblijf in een rustige mooie omgeving. Op loopafstand van het dorp. We hebben heerlijk bij de accommodatie gegeten. De eigenaar was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk, zo ook zijn vrouw en personeel. Perfecte locatie voor een jungle tocht. Wij zijn er twee nachten geweest maar hadden er wel meer mogen zijn.

Erg aardige host en eigenaar, lekker zwembad, heerlijk gegeten. Ook heerlijke ice tea gedronken van thee dat van hun eigen plantage af komt. We hebben het beste ontbijt gehad in Sri Lanka tot nu toe! Ook het diner was erg lekker en voor een hele fijne prijs.

Het enige minpuntje was dat de in onze kamer zat het afvoerputje precies aan de andere kant van de badkamer, waardoor na het douchen de hele badkamer nat is. Ook is de wifi niet heel snel.

We felt right at home, thanks to the lovely family and great home cooked food. The pool was lovely and the room with balcony was a perfect spot to enjoy the breeze and birds ❤️

We've been in some pretty good places in Sri Lanka, but this one was definitely the cleanest and most well-maintained. Large rooms, plenty of space around, terraces, a swimming pool... the water in the pool was fantastic. And it was right next to the rainforest and bus station. You can actually watch different species of birds from the swimming pool.. The meals were excellent, different every day. Everything was perfect.

Beautiful place, kind people and really nice breakfast

Deniyaya is 170 km south of Colombo but a million miles from the hustle and bustle. You can get there in 5 hours by bus. Healand Holiday Bungalow is located a 20 minute walk from Deniyaya and is a haven for peace and tranquility. It is a small family-run establishment providing clean rooms, attentive friendly service and excellent Sri Lankan food. I settled into a pattern of excursions to the nearby Singaraja Forest in the morning followed by a lazy afternoon in the pool, reading and birdwatching. Choose the air conditioned rooms over the basic rooms (no hot water) for greater comfort. Looking forward to returning!

I had such a lovely stay at Healand Holiday Bungalow! Everything was perfect: hosts, room, pool, food, location! I can definitely recommend to stay here for multiple nights.

Facilities were good. Food could be better.

Provided egg sandwiches without any salad or mayo for takeout.

We stayed in a balcony room that was nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. The pool was a definite highlight, set in a beautiful setting and perfect for relaxation. The food was plentiful and very tasty, offering something for everyone. The host was very friendly and accommodating, even arranging a guide for the rainforest tour, which was well-organized and enjoyable. Overall, a pleasant stay in a recommendable accommodation.

Charming host, attentive service, very comfortable bed, hot water and lovely towels in the spacious bathroom, excellent tasty meals, beautiful garden and surroundings, sparkling swimming pool and everywhere very clean.....perfect!

We had a wonderful time staying at Rani's home. He is a wonderful host and always available to help or talk about Sri Lanka and any.other topics. The food was exceptional and such good value and we also met some lovely guests while sharing communal dinners. The room was lovely with a balcony to chill out on and watch the birds. The pool was also nice for an afternoon swim to cool off after a walk in the forest. A wonderful stay with lovely hosts.

This is a really beautiful place to stay with wonderful hosts. Jayasinghe's food is truly the best I have tasted. The banana blossom curry and jackfruit curry were so much tastier than anything else I ate in Sri Lanka and the curd was fabulous - I could have eaten the whole bowl if I hadn't eaten so much curry! The food and accommodation is really high quality and nothing is too much trouble. This is great place to relax on the terrace or by the pool and eat gorgeous food. It is a 20 minute walk to the bus station in a quiet area with nice views and to see birds from the balcony. Sinhajara is wonderfully peaceful and the waterfalls and nature are great. The host was kind enought to drop me off in Colombo too which saved me a 4 hour bus journey! I have stayed at some wonderful places in Sri Lanka but this was perfect and huge value for the price. Great for a family or if you want a quiet place.

It honestly was faultless.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, wish we could’ve stayed longer! The villa is super peaceful, the hosts are very kind and welcoming, on hand for anything you need and the rooms were lovely and clean. We have been travelling for a while now, and this was the most peaceful, welcomed and at home we felt in a very long time. The bonus was the incredible food. We ate Sri Lankan food for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we wanted to experience it properly with some spice and the chef exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely incredible and possibly the best we’ve had in a very very long time. Everything was fresh, portions were extremely generous and super flavoursome. We recommend the room with a balcony as you can relax there for hours watching the birds pass by and they get pretty close. Very special. Thank you for being such great hosts and making it special for us!

Despite our late arrival, the warm and very helpful welcome immediately made us feel very comfortable. The great hospitality, the exceptionally good food, the beautiful rooms, the great pool and the beautiful surroundings all contributed to an unforgettable experience for us. Great location, little bit far from the center, but it's quite and surrounded by nature, great opportunity for walk. Room was big enough, comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious, one day the cook prepared a breakfast package as we went out early for a tour to Sinharaja. Also recommend having a dinner, because they were delicious! If you are interested in Sinharaja Tour, the owner can give you a contact to Danu, who was a great guide, very knowledgeable, great communication with him,highly recommend. The owner is also very nice, we had a really good conversations.

Awesome place with super friendly and helpful hosts! The pool is very nice, especially after hiking the Sinharaja forest.. The breakfast and dinner are great too, don't miss it!

A mosquito net and hot water would make it even better (there were almost no mosquitoes, but I prefer to have one to be sure)..

Nice,spacious, clean rooms. Very hospitable host. Had long & enjoyable chats with him. The cook who doubles as the general worker is extremely helpful & ever smiling - always around to help us carry bags or serve us tea.

Very comfortable stay. Spacious and clean rooms with all amenities. Premises maintained well by the very obliging caretaker Jayasinghe, who's cooking was delicious. Quite a large pool which was clean and very inviting. Overall great value for money.
