The host welcomed us and made sure that the room is ready to occupy. We arrived a bit early than the standard check-in time, so we left our bags inside the property and came back for the check-in. The room is comfy and has ample space for all your stuff.

The owner was so kind during my stay and I enjoyed the place so much!

J’ai envoyé plusieurs messages, je n’ai jamais eu aucune réponse. Une première fois j’ai envoyé un msg pour décaler nos nuits d’un jour, 0 réponse. Quelques mois plus tard j’ai appris une maladie et que je ne pouvais plus voyager. J’ai donc demandé s’il était possible d’annuler avec un petit geste de leur part même s’il y avait un peu de frais, on aurait pu trouver un accord, 0 réponse. Avec mon compagnon nous avons décidé de ne pas annuler l’hôtel car il aurait encaissé l’argent et aurait relouer la chambre sûrement. Nous avons reçu tout les messages automatiques « le check out est à tel heure » « nous sommes heureux de vous avoir accueilli » Vraiment 0 en communication, 0 en humanité.

Mama is fantastisch. Haar eten was heerlijk en ze had leuke verhalen en goede tips. Ga hierheen voor een unieke ervaring! Het was er heel schoon en we hebben heerlijk geslapen.

De kamer was heel basic maar voor ons prima voor een nachtje in het noorden.

Best homestay! Mama is an amazing cook and so friendly! I loved the family dinner. Food facilities and comfortable bed. Lovely area close to the beaches of the north. A quick ride to burgos with a nice bar and come cafes. It's a great, calm area where everyone is super friendly.

Sehr gute Lage im Norden der Insel. Private Zimmer, Klimaanlage, Parking für Scooter. Einen Abend gab es ein Family-Dinner von Mama gekocht. Yum!

We like Auntie's food, unlimited🥰. She is so kind and very approachable, also her son, Beboy, who guided us to nearby tourist spots and answers to all our queries in detail. When we arrived, our welcome was very Filipino, we were treated the same as other guests (foreigners). All the amenities were readily available when we needed it. It is very homey, a great & safe place to stay far from the busy streets of the central area. We highly recommend this homestay. Definitely booking again here soon with my friends or family.

we loved our stay with Masayay!! mama, papa, and Bboy all went so out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. they upgraded us to the biggest room, mama was so kind to do our laundry, and papa drove us into town to the ATM. this is a really special and authentic place—i wouldn’t stay anywhere else in the north. best wifi we’ve had all trip, really clean rooms, plus mama cooked us the most delicious dinner! support an amazing family business and stay here—you won’t regret it. oh, and they currently have the cutest and sweetest puppies ever here!!!

Nous avons passé trois jours magiques en famille à Masayay Homestay, dans le nord de Siargao. Dès notre arrivée, Mama nous a accueillis comme des membres de sa famille : ses plats maison étaient délicieux, et son hospitalité incroyablement chaleureuse. Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous dès le premier instant ! L’emplacement est parfait : à quelques centaines de mètres du spot de surf de Tangbo, et à moins d’un kilomètre des plages et restaurants d’Alegria. Mama a même organisé pour nous la location d’un scooter, livré directement à l’homestay. Les trois jours sont passés bien trop vite, et nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps. C’était sans doute l’un des plus beaux moments de notre voyage aux Philippines.

It was so nice to stay with mama and family! I felt very at home and it was exactly what I was looking for from a homestay with a local family. It was so nice to have a kitchen to cook in and I enjoyed the other guests staying at the homestay as well. I’ll definitely be back if I go back to siargao!

Echt een heel leuk (en brandschoon) verblijf bij een hele hartelijke gastvrouw. Je hebt echt het idee dat je bent logeren bij iemand thuis, ze maakt haar bijnaam 'mama' helemaal waar. De andere gasten bij dit verblijf waren ook heel vriendelijk en zeiden elkaar gedag, maar er waren verder geen sociale verwachtingen. Bonus: lieve puppies! Zou hier zeker verblijven, perfecte prijs/kwaliteit verhouding!

We loved how mama made us feel like home. She cooked for us the most delicious homemade dinner and taught us next day how to cook it! The place was super clean and we felt really comfortable. Location is quite but it was what we were looking for. Ac worked perfectly too! A simple but great accomodation!

Nice comfortable and quiet room in a quiet area of Siargao. Not far away from beautiful beaches and good restaurants. Mama and staff were all very friendly and helpful...definitely would stay again.

We had a great time at Masayay Homestay! Super close to Tangbo Beach to surf. The staff felt more like a family than staff and was super helpful with everything. We could also order dinner at the homestay, and it was very good. I highly reccomend!

It was a great experience to be hosted by this wonderful family in this remote location of Siargao. The area is absolutely beautiful with white sand beaches lined with coconut trees.

The stay was amazing, the host’s son showed us all the great places right after our arrival. They also invited us to dinner. Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and nice. Everyone was extremely kind to us. We were very satisfied.

Peaceful location, near the beach. Decent cooking facilities and a wonderful host family. Good WiFi provided. Water in room.

Extremely friendly family running the homestay. Very helpful arranging scooter rental and transfers. The location is very peaceful, local vibes and near some great natural beauty spots. Multiple local shops nearby for essentials. Thanks for a great stay. Barely crossed paths with other guests so felt like we had the house to ourselves, as the family have a separate house. Very useful large bucket for handwashing clothes in the bathroom.

Power would trip out a few times, but this is quite common on the island.

It was the best decision to book this accommodation. Everything was very clean and spacious. The family is very friendly and helpful. We even celebrated Easter together on the beach, and the mother had cooked for all! It was a wonderful experience, and I am very grateful to have been a guest here. Bboy took the time to arrange a tuk tuk for me and another traveler and explained everything clearly. It was a great experience and I would come back anytime.

Perfect location just outside Alegeria. Family was very warm and welcoming even invited me out for Sunday lunch near the beach. Was a memorable stay. Well worth staying here.

I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay with this amazing family in Northern Siargao for 4 nights. They were incredibly hospitable and welcoming, and we shared so many wonderful moments together. Fe's cooking was delicious and always made us feel at home. Bboy was the ultimate tour guide and helper - he booked our tours, arranged transportation, and was always there to lend a hand. Migs was also super chill and helpful, and the whole family, including the dad and Leah, made us feel like part of the family. The Northern part of the island is so authentic and unspoiled, and staying with this family allowed us to truly experience the local way of life. It's not a luxurious setup, but that's part of its charm. If you're looking for an immersive and authentic Siargao experience, I highly recommend staying with this family. They're a divine family who will make you feel like you're home.

Easy to access location, walking distance to several beautiful beaches and a short drive to nearby attractions. Friendly and kind hosts, the home-cooked dinner is not to be missed. Very clean and safe, family atmosphere. Starlink worked great, which was good because we did not get cell reception. Nice common area and kitchen to prepare your own meals or meet other travelers. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The water pressure from the shower was very weak, but a large bucket and tabo were provided and worked for bathing.

A lovely, clean room in a great location. But what makes the homestay is the people; the hosts were friendly and helpful and cooked delicious food most nights, which they were more than happy to share with guests. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Masayay.

Everything was great, the family were SO lovely and friendly. You can pay a tiny bit extra to have dinner together with them. They have a few rooms so there was other travellers there too and a nice big spaces outside to hang out. The bed was comfy, they have free water, you can use they kitchen and then can arrange everything there like surf lessons and scooter etc for a good price.

Wow, this booking was the best we have ever made ever! From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome and were treated like family, we never felt like strangers. They even took us to a local fiesta to experience the neighborhood tradition, to eat in different houses. The internet was strong, and Mama Fe always cooked delicious meals for us, as we ate as a family. The location was perfect, with beaches and cafes within walking distance. If you're looking for a peaceful stay away from the crowded areas, this is the place to be! We not only met friends but also felt like we became part of a new family. Originally planning to stay for only 5 nights, we ended up extending our stay just to be with them. The entire Escobal family, including Leemark, Migs, Mama and Papa, are truly gems of Siargao. They are incredibly kind-hearted people who made us feel at home away from home.

Best homestay i've stayed in, in SE asia. People say Filipino people are the kindest, most hospitable people and the family running Masayay are the epitome of that. Highly recommend. Good wifi, clean. Zero issues and lovely people

Amazing. There are so many great points about this place. Location wise, it's walking to the beach, super close to sunset and surf spots. Great cafes nearby. The family are the most lovely people. Mumma is the greatest cook! They are happy to involve you and show you around. Nothing is too much. I was very sad the day I left here..... I will be back!

The family that you stay with is so helpful and friendly, you will feel right at home! The location is perfect, very quiet and close to two surf spots and beautiful beaches. Dinner with the family was amazing and this was an experience I will cherish forever!
