Green Heart Homestay

Great place to stay in Kandy. Host was lovely, very welcoming and gave us great recommendations as well as helping us with transport. Good breakfast. Overall superb homestay.

If you want a cosy homestay with amazing breakfast you can't go wrong with Green Heart homestay. Yvonne will treat you like you are family. She knows all about the city and its surroundings and can help you plan your activities. I visited during the busy new year period and Yvonne helped me tremendously during my transport search back to Colombo. She even went to the bus station to check if busses were running during this time! And she reached out to taxi services to ask for price quotes! Amazing hospitality! The breakfast was very delicious and filling as well to get you ready for your day. The homestay is nestled in the city area which is great for having access to restaurants and shops, all within walking distance.

Since it is located in the city area, you can expect some noises associated with city life. If you are a light sleeper, a pair of earplugs will do the trick. I also think that visiting during the busy new year's period did not help.

Deliciosas, abundantes (no llegamos a terminarlos) y variadas.

I stayed here for one night, and it was the warmest and most welcoming stay of my entire trip! The host was incredibly kind and caring. When I arrived, she offered me welcome tea and shared many helpful suggestions and detailed information, which made me feel completely at ease and well prepared. The location is very convenient, close to the bus station and within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, I truly felt at home. The bathroom had hot water, and she even provided a hair dryer when I asked. Breakfast was wonderful and gave me plenty of energy to start the day. Overall, this was one of my best accommodation experiences in Sri Lanka. I would definitely stay here again!! Highly recommend!!

Great and comfortable stay, very nice location and delicious home-cooked breakfast!

Very cute little homestay, great location, clean and homely. Perfect for solo travelers otherwise might be a bit small. Hosts were so friendly and helpful and breakfast was amazing. Fantastic value for money. I extended my stay and would definitely come again 😊

Nothing!

Staff (Ivon) was great and very hospitable. concerned about the guests and help out If need support to find places in surroundings. This place is good for short stay. Very conveniently located and Everything is nearby and accessible.

I wish If this place had heater because nighttime and early morning, it is cold. The Bathroom need to improve. Also, toiletries such as toothpaste were not available. Breakfast is not as described in the hotel description in booking.com. But it is fair enough.

Perfect location in the city center, very warm welcome by the host Yvonne and her husband, delicious breakfast

10/10 - A Home Away from Home at Green Heart Home Stay in Nuwara Eliya!* I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Green Heart Home Stay in Nuwara Eliya, hosted by the lovely Andrew and Yvonne. This charming home stay is nestled in the heart of the city, making everything accessible within walking distance. What truly sets Green Heart apart is the warmth and hospitality of the hosting family. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was visiting a family member's home, not just renting a room. Yvonne's exceptional guidance and knowledge of the area helped me plan the perfect tour, ensuring I made the most of my time in Nuwara Eliya. But what truly left me in awe was Yvonne's culinary skills! Her cooking is nothing short of magical, and I can confidently say that I had the best Sri Lankan food of my entire trip at Green Heart. Such a lovely family, good location, clean, simple. I loved it

Best place I stayed in Sri Lanka! Ivonne and her husband are amazing hosts who made me feel like family. They picked me up from the train station, cooked delicious meals, and even packed a snack for my next journey. The guesthouse is perfectly located and cozy. I'll definitely be back! Ivonne and her husband are the heart and soul of this place, and I highly recommend it

I loved my stay here. Yvonne and Andrews made me feel so at home. Andrews picked me up at the train station which was really nice. The room and bathroom was so clean. It can get cold in Nuwara Eliya so Yvonne gave me another blanket. She also let me use her umbrella. They helped organise a tuk tuk driver to Blue fields tea factory and waterfall. I bought some tea for my friends that live in Sri Lanka and they helped me wrap it and came with me to the courier to post it. The breakfast was excellent so tasty and fresh.

What a lovely host. And delicous food. Thank you.

Green Heart Homestay is an excellent budget option in the centre of Nuwara Eliya. The location is fabulous. What the room lacks in size and natural light is more than made up for by the wonderful host Yvonne. She is an amazing lady and incredibly knowledgable about all things you might want to know whist staying in NE. My WA messages were answered instantly. Her English is excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I was even given a lovely food parcel when I had to leave early morning for the train to Kandy.

It can get a little cold at night, but Yvonne gave me a lovely warm blanket to keep me warm. I missed having any natural light in the room.

I had a wonderful stay at Green Heart Homestay in Nuwara Eliya. The location is perfect—central and convenient for exploring the town, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. The room was small but cozy, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the extra duvet, which was perfect for the chilly nights. The owners are incredibly kind and always ready to help, going above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable. A special touch was when they packed me a delicious breakfast to take on my early hike to Horton Plains—so thoughtful! They also offer fairly priced tuk-tuk rides, making it easy to get around and see the sights without any hassle. Overall, this homestay offers great hospitality, a warm atmosphere, and a super convenient location. Highly recommended!

Feel like at home. Cozy space. Hospitality of the the owner and helpful information provided. Excellent home cooked dinner and breakfast.

No shampoo.

Everything was great, especially the family is really lovely. Good starting point for exploring Nuwara Eliya and the surroundig sights.

Yvonne and Andrew were very attentive and treated me like loved family. Their guidance was very helpful. Her breakfasts were terrific.

The signage could have been more prominant bit when I called the hostess, all was quickly resolved. Google maps was inaccurate.

The host was a helpful and friendly woman that provided lots of useful information to me. When I arrived, she already a welcome snack and tea for me. I stayed for two nights. I didn't expect the breakfast would be different. The first day was western and the second day was more like Sri Lankan style. Both were excellent, but I prefer the Sri Lankan style!!!

Very nice homestay close to the bus station and many attractions like the Post Office and Victoria Park. The host ist very friendly and helpful and organised for me a trip to Horton Plains and gave me lots of other informations that were helpful. For lunch or dinner go to Dhata Home Foods - very good food for an incredibel fair price.

Exceptional

Cosy room with hot water with a really informative host. Host provided lots of information and opinions which was greatly received.

Very nice and cozy place in the middle of the city

Amazing Homestay right in the middle of town. We really felt like part of the family during our stay. From the welcome tea and chats until we left. Everything was spotless and the bed has a nice heavy bedsheet for the colder climate of the area. The hosts were so helpful throughout and on the day we left there was a cerfew in place due to the presidential election, they made enquires at the local police station to make sure it would be ok for us to travel to our next location before we had even gotten up for breakfast. Breakfast each morning was fantastic as well. Definitely the most homely Homestay of our trip to Sri Lanka and if we return we will definitely stay here again.

The facility is super beautiful and clean, probably the best I have been in Sri Lanka. Beds super comfortable. Plus this is the most wholesome experience I have ever had in a Homestay. The owners really make you feel like at home and the food is AMAZING. Thanks a lot for all your help and kindness!!

Hostess Ivon and her husband were really amazing! So positive, helpful and nice! I also loved my cozy room and delicious breakfast. The blanket was extremely warm, I even didn’t expect, so my night in Nuwara Elia was comfortable even with that cold mountain weather. Thank you so much!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this homestay. The host family was incredibly friendly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. They made sure we were comfortable and attended to our needs. Breakfast was delicious and always served promptly. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming stay.

The BnB is located in the center of Nuwara Eliya, just a 7-minute walk away from the post office and the park. It‘s quite new and was furbished and decorated with heart & love to the detail by the sweet couple of hosts. Yvonne and her family are so friendly and sweet and always there to help, when needed. We really felt at home.

Excellent location in the center of the Nuwara-Eliya. This is a great option for the solo traveler.

Great service with delicious breakfast

.

We had a very nice stay at the Green Heart Homestay. Yvonne made us feel comfortable in every aspect. More than that - she exceptionally even gave us a room upgrade! We are travelling on low budget so we thought it would be okay to squeeze into one bed, but I guess it wouldn‘t habe been very comfortable :) The breakfast was delightful, the appartement was clean and she even called to bus station to help us with our journey. Love from Anja, Kiri & Artur

The host was very flexible in arranging for our requests. Instead of the included breakfast, which we wanted to prepare for ourselves, we had lunch one day and dinner the other day. Both were made with care and really delicious. She also helped us find a new owner for the street puppy we had adopted two weeks earlier, which was super helpful. The location is also good, as most things (Victoria Park, Post Office, etc.) are in walking distance. Since it's hidden a few meters away from the street it was also nicely quiet.

The room is quite small and has no windows, so especially with two people it's not too comfortable to stay there for a long time. But we spent two nights there and that was fine.

A new place, elegant and charming. Small but clean, and with a very hospitable host attentive to any needs. Location is also great.

Bed is too soft.

The location is great, right in the town. It's quiet. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk to the city centre. Breakfast was delicious😋.. We will stay here again next time I come back. The owner is very smiling. .

All good.

The property was really clean and located nicely to the city centre. The host family were amazing, they helped us in every way possible and were lovely to talk to.

Nothing.
