Wij hadden de Deluxe kamer geboekt. Wat er luxe aan is? Geen idee. Het was klein en heel vochtig. Het rook er niet fris en het is er heel vochtig. De badkamer zit onder de schimmel. Volgens de eigenaar was de ventilatie uitgegaan. Nou deze schimmel groeit niet in 1 dag, dus ze zijn er mee bekend en ze doen er niks aan. De doucheput is ook verstopt. Als je gaat douchen staat de hele badkamer onder water. Wij hebben onze spullen gepakt en hebben gelukkig een betere plek gevonden om te overnachten.

We loved our host at seeming lodge he made everything so pleasant and easy, offering a full day tour of Nuwara eliya for a great price and was extremely knowledgeable of the local history and culture. The room was all we needed and the facilities did not let us down, the stay was comfortable and the bed was very cosy.

Ligt boven in de bergen, heerlijk koel. Zelf onder een deken moeten slapen. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

De weg er naar toe is een uitdaging, maar dan zit je wel op een mooi plekje.

De kamer die wij hadden heeft uitzicht op de theevelden, prachtig! We hebben 1x ontbijt besteld, die vers werd bereid. Dit was erg lekker! De eigenaar is vriendelijk, wil je graag van alles vertellen over de omgeving. Hij organiseert ook tours, maar aangezien wij een eigen tuktuk hadden hebben we hier niet voor gekozen. We hadden een misverstand bij betalen, maar dit heeft hij netjes opgelost. Om er te komen met vervoer moet je een andere route nemen dan die Maps aangeeft, dit heeft hij tijdig aan ons gecommuniceerd.

De kamer is prima/netjes. De badkamer is wel iets verouderd en was niet helemaal schoon.

Nuestra estancia fue agradable. Para llegar al alojamiento recomendamos contar con transporte propio, ya que el acceso es por un camino de tierra y resulta mucho más cómodo para llegar y moverte. A primera vista, el exterior del alojamiento puede no parecerse demasiado a lo que uno espera al ver las fotos, pero una vez dentro, la habitación está reformada y sí corresponde a las imágenes publicadas. Sin duda, lo mejor del alojamiento son las vistas y la tranquilidad que se respira. Es un lugar perfecto para desconectar y disfrutar del entorno. En Nuwara Eliya suele hacer hace bastante frío, aunque agradecimos que la habitación estuviera preparada con manta. Aun así, creemos que no le vendría mal disponer de calefacción y deshumidificador para hacer la estancia todavía más confortable. Por último, destacar especialmente la amabilidad del personal, que fue muy atento y agradable durante nuestra estancia. En general, una experiencia positiva y un lugar que recomendamos especialmente por sus vistas y su tranquilidad.

Estaba limpio y tenía buenas vistas.

Solo había dos niños que no hablaban inglés para atenderte. El dueño solo me habló para venderme excursiones. Cuando vió que no estaba interesado ya no supimos de él. Me quisieron cobrar de más y tuve que enseñarle a los dos niños el precio de Booking y aún así no se enteraban. Muy lejos del centro. Me quisieron dar una habitación que no era la que había reservado. Hacia mucho frio. Estoy seguro de que hay sitios mejores.

La struttura è pulita e accogliente. Camere moderne e abbastanza grandi, con una vista splendida sulle piantagioni. Lo staff é molto disponibile e accogliente

Di notte può fare freddo dato che non c’è riscaldamento (come negli altri hotel che abbiamo visto), tuttavia forniscono molte coperte e acqua calda. C’è anche molta umidità nella camera, potrebbe beneficiare di un deumidificatore. La posizione è abbastanza lontana (serve un driver o tuktuk) e la strada abbastanza ripida, però ne vale la pena.

Nothing to like about the property. There might be some rooms with a nice view but not the one we stayed in.

The access to the property is pretty rough and you might need an SUV or a tuk tuk to get all the way up.

The views were perfect. Simply breathtaking.

Peu accessible en voiture. Ce n'est pas un hôtel mais des chambres chez l'habitant. Il faudrait que cela soit clairement indiqué sur BOOKING. Nous avons sélectionné Hotel et nous nous retrouvons chez l'habitant. Petit déjeuner très cher (10$) et très lent.

Very nice place, good view. The hosts were so nice and met all our needs. They really have a lot of focus on the comfort and well being of guests. Recommend!

Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel! Wij wilden heel graag de treinrit naar Ella maken, maar het lukte ons niet om online kaartjes te bemachtigen. Het personeel heeft ons hier perfect mee geholpen en zelfs kaartjes bij het treinstation geregeld, inclusief de beste plekken. Zonder hun hulp was dit waarschijnlijk nooit gelukt. Ook kregen we een ontbijt mee voor onderweg, wat erg lekker was. De locatie is mooi, het personeel is vriendelijk en ze geven goede tips. Echt een aanrader!

Het uitzicht

Het is steenkoud in nuwara eliya en deze kamer heeft geen verwarming waardoor de buitentemperatuur ook binnen super koud is, je krijgt wel genoeg dekend voor snachts maar de kamer zelf is super koud. Verder hebben wij een dag 3 uur zonder warm water gezeten wat vervelend is als je je wilt opwarmen met een warme douche, uiteindelijk maar koud gedoucht.

Kisho was a very good host. He cooks delicious food. Even asked me if I wanted to eat even though I arrived late. The rooms were a bit cold but the nice personal already prepared 3 blankets for us in advance.

No room service. No basic amenities like hand tissues inside the room. The major disappointment is the take only cash for any payment including hotel booking and informed when we were checking out which caused us a lot of problems subsequently.

La gentilezza e la disponibilità della famiglia, anche la vista sulle piantagioni è bella.

Purtroppo, la struttura non corrisponde assolutamente a quella mostrata nelle fotografie. Siamo arrivati verso le 19:30, sotto una forte pioggia, frequente in quella zona, e abbiamo subito notato che dagli infissi entrava aria. Di conseguenza, abbiamo trascorso la notte sentendo molto freddo e con una forte sensazione di umidità. Inoltre, sotto le lenzuola erano state sistemate delle coperte che apparivano poco igieniche. A nostro parere, le coperte dovrebbero essere posizionate sopra le lenzuola e non direttamente a contatto con gli ospiti, soprattutto considerando che è improbabile vengano lavate dopo ogni check-out. Non accettano carta

Goed personeel. We hebben een hele leuke tour gedaan en hij vertelde veel over het gebied, we gingen thee plukken en naar een theeplantage. Echt super!

I bit far from the centre. If that's not a problem, this is the place to go to.

I loved everything, especially the service and reception; they were very friendly. Even the taxi I hired couldn't reach the hotel, so they came in their car and took me there. That was great.

Nous n’avons passé qu’une nuit, mais l’établissement vaut le détour. Le personnel est adorable, et les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Nous avons pu choisir la chambre avec balcon, et la vue était à couper le souffle. Le lieu est légèrement excentré, ce qui permet de profiter du calme de la nature. Vous pouvez bénéficier d’ailleurs de visites (plantations de thé, randonnées) mais également d’un service de navette jusqu’à la gare de Nanu Oya. En clair, nous recommandons !

Все понравилось, хорошее место с добрыми управляющими. Уютный и светлый номер, было тихо, и все необходимое в номере присутствовало. Было большое колличество одеял, нам понадобилось только 2 из них, т.к в комнате не было кондиционера. Это был хороший опыт.

Было холодно, но я понимаю, что это скорее не проблема отеля а именно особенность самого города, там довольно прохладно. Были некоторые проблемы с горячей водой, а возможно просто плохо работал смеситель, но это не критично.

The host never showed up we were stranded up in the hills and had to book a last minute alternative hotel.

The owner is very friendly. Very attentive. And the view is very nice.

Seeming Lodge was one of the genuine highlights of our entire Sri Lanka trip — and that’s largely down to one person: Chami. From the moment he picked us up in Negombo, it was clear this was going to be something special. The drive up into the hill country became an experience in itself — Chami stopped multiple times along the mountain roads to let us try fresh fruits growing naturally in the wild, all while sharing his incredible knowledge of Sri Lankan culture, history and food. By the time we arrived at the lodge, we already felt like we’d gained a friend rather than just a host. The lodge itself more than delivered. We upgraded our room and it was absolutely gorgeous — beautifully appointed, immaculately kept, and with views over the tea estates that genuinely took our breath away every single morning. The following day Chami arranged a full sightseeing tour of the area, seamlessly fitting in all the highlights alongside some brilliant food recommendations that we never would have found on our own. His warmth, generosity and passion for sharing his country with visitors is something you simply cannot put a price on.

The only thing worth noting is that Nuwara Eliya gets genuinely cold at night, and the balcony doors and bathroom window could be a little more airtight to keep the chill out. There are plenty of blankets provided so it’s very manageable — just worth packing a warm layer for bedtime!

Simple et efficace. Les hôtes proposent des excursions dans la région (p.ex PN Horton plains) et déposent volontiers à la gare d'Ambewela (un peu plus cher, mais sont très dispo et flexibles). Nous n'avons pas pu beaucoup profiter du balcon car le temps était frais, mais nous avons beaucoup apprécié la magnifique vue sur les plantations de thé.

Super lieve eigenaren, die alles voor je willen organiseren. We hebben samen een tour gedaan, waarbij er veel over de geschiedenis, theeplantages, uitzichtenpunten, cultuur en voedsel dat ze verbouwen van Nuwara Eliya wordt verteld. Het uitzicht van het hotel is ook top en de kamer zijn schoon en comfortabel.

The property was beautiful, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the bathroom was modern and spotless.

The location was the biggest downside. It’s quite far from town and not easy to get to

- leider war in einem Bad etwas Schimmel - relativ viele Haare im Bett - die Matratzen sind sehr hart (Geschmackssache 😊) - kleine Handtücher fehlten (haben wir aber auch nicht nach gefragt)

Das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich, der tolle Balkon mit atemberaubenden Blick auf die Teeplantagen und die große, heiße Dusche im Badezimmer waren unsere Highlights. Das Frühstück konnten wir kurzfristig bestellen, wurde mit Liebe zubereitet und war sehr lecker. Außerdem hat Chaami, der Host, uns spontan eine tolle Tour zu einer Wanderung und einer Tea Factory organisiert. Er hat die perfekte Balance gefunden uns Tipps zu geben, über Land und Leben zu erzählen und gleichzeitig genug Freiraum gelassen. Wir können die Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen und insb. Chaami als Tour Guide!

Es gab nur zwei große Handtücher. Ein Vorleger für die Dusche und ein Handtuch für die Hände wären toll gewesen.

Mooi uitzicht! Lekker kopje thee bij binnenkomst. Rustig!

We sliepen naast de lobby en de deur was erg dun. Je zag de schimmen van de mensen en hoorde alles. Ook zaten er veel vliegen op de kamer en is het toch wel 10 min rijden met de tuk tuk naar t centrum.

La chambre était super confortable, et la vue magnifique! Chaami nous a amenées à Kandy, en passant par des plantations de thé, un magasin de fraises et des points de vue. Ses explications étaient au top! Trajet peut-être un peu cher mais ça en valait la peine!

Un peu loin du centre mais Chaami nous y amène en voiture, et c’est pas loin en tuktuk.

Didnt know it was too further in. The road leading to the stay is dirt road and very hard for cars to drive in. I feel like we were kinda scammed aswell cause since it was difficult to go out for dinner, we decided to have dinner at the stay and they charged 5,000 sri lankan for 2 cheese chicken kottu.

Nice, relaxing stay with a really pleasant honey-inspired atmosphere. We were welcomed with delicious pastries and a great cup of tea, which was a lovely touch. Special shoutout to the staff at check-in! Genuinely warm, friendly, and professional.

La chambre était tres propre, la vue magnifique, Chaamy était absolument genial. Si on avait su, on serait resté un jour de plus car Chaamy a rendu notre séjour incroyable à Nuwara Eliya ! C'est un guide professionnel et il dispose de beaucoup de connaissances sur son pays, on a appris beaucoup de choses grâce à lui ! J'y etais pendant mon anniversaire, le personnel m'a même offert un petit gateau, charmante attention !

L'eau chaude est capricieuse, faites attention le petit dejeuner n'est pas compris. Si la mention "petit dejeuner" et non "petit dejeuner gratuit" est indiquée sur booking ça veut dire qu'i sera payant! C'était la subtilité que je n'avais pas comprise, mais bon rien de grave.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft. Sie liegt abgelegen mitten in den Teeplantagen. Wirklich Traumhafte Aussicht mit Traumhaften Balkon. Die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden sogar kostenlos aus der Stadt bei Ankunft abgeholt. Die ganze Familie ist super nett und rund um die Uhr erreichbar. Er hat uns gemeinsam mit seiner Frau 6 Stunden nach Colombo gefahren was wirklich nicht selbstverständlich ist :)
