The host was amazing. We spent one hour talking with him. The room itself was spacious and the balcony was very cosy. The bathroom was amazing, big shower, robes included. The bed was comfy and big. It has everything we needed for a good stay in Fes

The property is a bit far from the medina center but the taxis depart on a roudabout close to the Riad. The breakfast was good but nothing special.

The riad itself is good and well-maintained, good location.

- The number of stars and the rating of an accommodation should apply to all rooms. It is a bit misleading that there are offered small rooms missing from the pictures. There is indeed a luxury suite that can receive a 5-star and 10-star rating, but the mini maid's room upstairs, accessible via many stairs with a prison window, is certainly not that much, even though it is much cheaper. This is not clear from the advertisement and it is also not clear that there is such a large difference between the rooms. - Breakfast starting from 08:30 as the earliest not comfortable for those who have to leave in the morning or even before noon.

Nous avons séjourné au Riad JAMAL à Fès pendant les vacances de fin d’année et l’expérience a été tout simplement exceptionnelle. Jamal et sa femme sont des hôtes remarquables, d’une gentillesse et d’un sens de l’accueil rares. Après trois premières nuits passées dans leur riad, nous avions une réservation dans un autre établissement qui s’est révélée très décevante. Malgré la haute saison et les contraintes que cela implique, Jamal a réussi à nous trouver une solution pour revenir séjourner dans son riad, sans jamais profiter de notre situation, notamment sur le plan tarifaire – une élégance qui mérite d’être soulignée. Au fil des jours, une relation très amicale s’est installée, au point que nous avons décidé de lui attribuer le prix très officiel (et totalement subjectif 😄) du “High Level de la personnalité et du riad” – un titre qu’il mérite haut la main, même s’il n’existe que dans notre palmarès personnel ! Et ce “high level” ne s’arrête pas au riad : toutes ses recommandations étaient excellentes. Que ce soit pour les visites, les adresses à découvrir ou les conseils pratiques, tout était pertinent et de grande qualité. Les chauffeurs qu’il nous a proposés étaient également irréprochables : ponctuels, fiables, très professionnels, et avec un vrai sens du service — bref, du “high level” jusqu’au bout. Le confort est irréprochable, les repas absolument délicieux, et la décoration du riad est magnifique, authentique et raffinée. Sa situation, en bordure de la médina, est un choix idéal pour profiter pleinement de Fès tout en restant au calme. Une adresse que nous recommandons sans la moindre hésitation, et où nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Отель в Фесе превзошел все мои ожидания. Начну, пожалуй, с завтраков – они были просто восхитительны! Изобилие свежих фруктов, выпечки, традиционных марокканских блюд… Каждый день начинался с кулинарного праздника, который давал заряд бодрости и хорошего настроения на весь день. Отдельно хочется отметить хозяина отеля. Его гостеприимство и радушие создавали невероятно теплую и домашнюю атмосферу. Он всегда был готов помочь, ответить на любые вопросы и поделиться полезными советами о городе. Чувствовалось, что он искренне заботится о своих гостях и делает все возможное, чтобы их пребывание в Фесе стало незабываемым. Расположение отеля – еще один огромный плюс. Он находится в самом сердце Медины, что позволяло легко исследовать узкие улочки, лабиринты и исторические достопримечательности. При этом, несмотря на центральное месторасположение, в отеле было тихо и спокойно, что позволяло отдохнуть и расслабиться после насыщенного дня. И, конечно, нельзя не упомянуть приветливость персонала. Все сотрудники отеля были очень внимательны, отзывчивы и всегда готовы прийти на помощь. Они создавали атмосферу доброжелательности и делали все возможное, чтобы гости чувствовали себя комфортно и уютно. В общем, я осталась в полном восторге от этого отеля и с удовольствием рекомендую его всем, кто планирует посетить Фес. Уверена, что вы не будете разочарованы!

Il Riad ha un bel potenziale !

L'ora della colazione,troppo tardi inizia alle 8.30. Il bagno ha un forte odore di fogna ....ma del resto é così in tutta Fez. Avrei preferito trovare nelle aree comuni la luce per dare un aspetto migliore al Riad, più atmosfera!

Nos gustó todo, pero sobre todo la amabilidad y predisposicón de la familia que regenta el Riad. El Sr. Jamal es encantador y su hija también. El desayuno estaba muy rico y el lugar es simplemente espectacular. Decorado con mucho gusto y con habitaciones espaciosas. En cuanto a la ubicación, andando de los puntos turísticos de la medina más importantes estás a 10 minutos como mucho y si vienes en coche, tienes un parking público enorme a 5 minutos. En definitiva, es un Riad muy recomendable

Tout était parfait grâce à eux, leur gentillesse, leur bienveillance. C’était très propre Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous reviendrons sans hésiter pour y séjourner plus longtemps.

It was my husband birthday I told the riad last minute to surprise my husband. My husband in parallel wants to surprise me having the Riad doing honeymoon decoration — at the end Riad Jamal has done exceptional job to decorate the both for honeymoon and for my husband birthday - with roses, balloon, fancy cakes with honeymoon and birthday writing. My husband and I are both very happy.

The beds are very hard.

Stunning building with beautiful architectural details and very clean. The staff was very welcoming. -The Riad has a nice air condition system, it would be helpful to have an air diverter so the cold air did not blow directly at your head all night but it did keep the room cool. Please note my comments are to be helpful because this information would have been beneficial to us prior to our stay.

-This Riad is not for the elderly or even adults with slight mobility issues due to its narrow winding steep stairs to the rooms and the lack of assistance by either luggage elevator or physical help in getting your luggage and belongings to your room. The room photographs on booking.com need to be updated to clearly mark the type of room the photo is showing. We were quite shocked about the size of our rooms ( 2 separate rooms) though the bed descriptions were accurate, they looked nothing like the pictures. Two of us found it difficult to move about the room at the same time nor were we able to open our luggage due to lack of space on the floor. Nowhere on booking.com did it warn about the steps or that the photographs were only of the suites and not a regular room they offer to book. -Riad's location is not close to the souks or major sights- 45 minute walk or taxi ride away. Not many restaurants or markets close by. We were offered help with a restaurant a cab ride away, but not help to get the cab to take there, after 30+ minutes of trying, we walked a difficult road to an alternative we could see at the top of a hill nearby. -We found communicating difficult and though the young women helping Jamal spoke English, the translation of needs between us was not easily understood. -The breakfast was average - breads and a baked egg, we would have liked yogurt or fruit and more coffee (only one cup offered). Our last morning we had asked for an 8am breakfast due to catching a train, but it was forgotten and by the time it was ready we had to leave. -Rooms are sparse - no glasses or no coffee making in the room; the ability to get or make some tea or coffee somewhere in the facility would have been nice. -Larger bath towels would be helpful, the towels were the size of a hand towel and very thin. Beds very, very hard. Unfortunately we didn’t find the Riad to live up to most of the reviews.

The kindness of the host

Stunning building and very clean Spacious room, large comfortable bed. Nice bedding and robes. Zainab and another young girl are very sweet, speak good English and are helpful.

Please note that my comments aren’t meant to criticise, but to raise awareness. A warning that this riad is not for the elderly or those with mobility problems due to steep steps and rooms on four floors. We had the junior suite which was on the top floor. (4th floor) I found the stairs difficult and was offered another room but would be charged to change. Most of the other rooms sleep three so we would be charged accordingly. Nowhere on booking.com did it warn about the steps. The peaceful roof terrace somewhat made up for the difficult climb. This is a communal terrace, not exclusive to the room. (As stated). The riad is not close to the souks or the tanneries - they are a 45 minute walk or taxi ride. Restaurants close by are difficult to find without being taken there by Jamal. Dinner is available in the riad but we felt it was rather expensive - 350 diram (35€)per person as opposed to 37 diram (37€) for two at a nearby riad We found communicating with Jamal rather difficult and he seemed preoccupied. (Even though we speak French) The junior suite is advertised as having a separate living room with sofa. This is not so, there is no separate living room, the sofa is within the bedroom. The other junior suite states there is a balcony - this is an internal balcony overlooking the dining hall and not an outside. The breakfast was average - breads, croissants and baked eggs, but we would have liked fresh fruit and more coffee (only one cup is offered) Rooms are sparse - no glasses or coffee making facilities and no bath towels. No facilities anywhere in the riad to make tea or coffee. Even when the owners knew I was unwell and had to stay in my room all day I was not offered a drink. A mint tea would have been nice. Wi-Fi turns off after each use. Have to log in every time you use your phone. Wifi slow. All in all we didn’t find the riad lived up to most of the reviews.

The location was perfect for us. The interior was beautiful and well kept. The accommodations were comfortable. The Riad Jamal was one of the most personalize accommodations i have experienced.

If I could give more than 10 points I would because everything exceeded our wildest expectations. The riad has been impeccably restored, and everything is exquisite. Jamal, the owner, Zeynep, his daughter, and Abdel Ali, his faithful assistant, welcomed us with open arms. By the end of our stay, we felt like we were part of one big happy family. They suggested a hidden restaurant no normal tourist could ever find, prepared an unforgettable Moroccan dinner, arranged a budget friendly private tour, helped get our luggage back and forth to the taxi, and decorated our room with rose petals, flowers, and a cake on our anniversary. We feel as though fate directed us to this riad because our relationship with this family has just begun. They have left a lasting impression on our hearts, and we know that we'll see them again. They couldn't have done anymore to help us, and they were an integral part of why we will always remember our time in Fez in the best way possible.

Riad Jamal is a magnificent place to stay. The family who manages the Riad is most welcoming and friendly, not to mention helpful. They assisted us with directions and good recommendations. Getting to the riad was relatively easy, with transportation very close—a three-minute walk to the taxi staging area on smooth pavement. Additionally, it is spotless, and the bathrooms are perfect for any traveler, with excellent showers and water pressure.

Brand new Riad with amazing facilities, everything with very good quality and beautiful! Great location, staff very nice and helpful (they are new in this and still adjusting in some things, but they definitely do everything to make your stay better). The breakfast is very good, make sure you save time to enjoy everything. Definitely an amazing place to stay.

A Wonderful Stay at Riyad Jamal in Fes I recently had the pleasure of staying at Riyad Jamal in Fes with my family, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was nothing short of exceptional. The owner Mr. Jamal , his son and his daughter were incredibly welcoming, always eager to assist with any questions or requests, making us feel right at home in this beautiful city. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure that every guest felt like family. Even my kids enjoyed the stay, as the staff went out of their way to make them feel comfortable and entertained. Whether it was arranging tours, providing local recommendations, or simply offering a smile, the hospitality at Riyad Jamal was outstanding. The riad was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Our room was spotless, with fresh linens and towels provided daily. The breakfast at Riyad Jamal was a highlight of our stay. Each morning, we were treated to a delightful spread of traditional Moroccan dishes, freshly baked bread msamen, harsha , and a variety of jams, and pastries. Even my kids looked forward to breakfast each day, enjoying the variety of food on offer. Given the warm climate of Fes, the air conditioning in the riad was much appreciated. Overall, Riyad Jamal provided an exceptional stay, combining comfort, cleanliness, and genuine Moroccan hospitality. My family and I, including the kids, had a wonderful time, and I highly recommend this riad to anyone visiting Fes

This hotel was so beautiful it was like staying in a piece of art - the detailed tiling and plaster work was the most intricate of anywhere we stayed. The roof terrace was also stunning with lots of potted trees and shady areas. Staff were super helpful with perfect english and the breakfast was probably the best we had on our trip

The whole stay was exceptional. Very clean room, exceptional staff. Breakfast was more than enough. I recommend having dinner here. I felt great throughout my stay. I thank Zainab for everything and I hope to see you again sometime. ❤

Riad Jamal has been one of the best experience i ever had. The food and the charme of the family is incredible. They managed to organise every single detail: from the pickup at the airport to the different experiences (tour in the medina of Fez as well the experience in the sahara desert)
