Wir wurden so herzlich empfangen, obwohl wir 15 Minuten früher ankamen als vereinbart. Wir haben am Abend eine neuseeländische Spezialität Namens Pavlova geschenkt bekommen, es war soooo lecker! Am nächsten Morgen herrliche Croissants 🥐🥐und selbszgebackene Anzac Bisciits... ein Traum...😋😋 Sie waren uns bei der Buchung von Aktivitäten behilflich und haben uns Campingsessel für unseren Ausflug geborgt. We have never experienced hosts as warm and welcoming as these. The value for money is well beyond a 10-point scale. We received such a lovely welcome, even though we arrived 15 minutes earlier than agreed. In the evening, we were treated to a New Zealand specialty called Pavlova—it was absolutely delicious! The next morning, we had wonderful croissants 🥐🥐 and homemade Anzac Biscuits... a total dream... 😋😋 ​They helped us with booking activities and even lent us camping chairs for our excursion. Absolutely fabulous location and view from backyard. Hosts lovely and friendly. Home baked croissants for breakfast a delicious treat! Wish we could have stayed longer, highly recommend.

Set in a peaceful garden overlooking an aqua bay, what’s not to like. The bed was comfortable, the facilities adequate and the ambience perfection.

Hosts went above and beyond by baking us homemade croissants! The studio had everything you could possibly need, and both the bed and bath were luxurious!

The wifi was very slow, so I wouldn’t come here to do work, but why would you need that when everything else was so relaxing and wonderful?

Hosts were excellent. Very friendly and helpful at all times. Lovely biscuits on arrival and hot croissants for breakfast on first morning. Beautiful outlook to garden and sea from apartment and very comfortable surroundings. Everything had been thought of, and supplied to make our stay as easy as possible. Es war ein wahres Vergnügen, bei Gilly und Colin zu Gast zu sein. Wer echte neuseeländische Gastfreundschaft erleben will, ist hier genau richtig. Die beiden sind einfach bezaubernd. Wir haben uns als Teil der Familie gefüllt, ohne eingeschränkt zu sein. Der Ausblick von der Terasse / garten ist atemberaubend schön. Whitianga und die umliegenden tollen Strände sind super zu erreichen. It was a real pleasure to stay with Gilly and Colin. If you want to experience genuine New Zealand hospitality, this is the place to be. They are both simply charming. We felt like part of the family, without being restricted in any way. The view from the terrace/garden is breathtakingly beautiful. Whitianga and the surrounding beaches are easy to reach.

Gilly and Colin were very welcoming, generous and helpful with invaluable advice about the local area. The location was perfect and the studio was very comfortable and homely, with a fabulous private garden and views of the ocean.

The location was ideal for us, not too close to busy bars and restaurants. The host was very friendly and provided information regarding activities in the area.

If perfection is the perfect balance between value for money, location, home away from home and brilliant hosts, then this is perfect.

Gilly and Colin were the most wonderful hosts even providing freshly baked croissants on our first morning! The location was incredible (the weather didn't play ball for using the sun loungers mind you!) and the room was very comfortable and well equipped. If the opportunity arose, we would definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you so much for having us to stay :)

I can't lie, I wasn't a fan of the sliding bathroom door but that was a minor issue.

Wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt, Gilly und Colin waren in allem sehr behilflich und haben uns unterstützt. Die Badewanne auf der Terrasse war Klasse und morgens die noch warmen Croissants ein Träumchen.

Die Gastgeber Colin und Gilly waren sehr herzlich und sehr gastfreundlich. Vielen Dank für alles! Die Lage mit Blick auf das Meer war wunderschön; um in den Ort zu kommen, kann man die bereitstehenden Fahrräder verwenden.

The location was sensational and the hosts provided extra comfort and treats with a cosy bed, amazing selection of tea and coffee and hot chocolate, croissants for breakfast, cheesecake and a well equipped bathroom with lovely soaps, shampoos, conditioners etc (not to mention the hat and tranquil out door bath). It is close to incredible attractions and it was hard to decide what to do in our limited time, so we’ll just have to come back again.

It was a little pricey but only because we traveled the first week of peak season. The perfect warm weather made up for it. And the hosts provided extra value for money.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying with Colin and Gilly as part of our honeymoon trip – and what a wonderful experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with genuine kindness and hospitality. The beautiful garden was a true highlight – so peaceful and lovingly maintained, it made the perfect spot to relax and unwind. But what truly made our stay unforgettable were our hosts themselves. Colin and Gilly went above and beyond to make us feel at home, even surprising us with a thoughtful culinary treat in celebration of our honeymoon. It’s rare to come across such heartwarming hospitality, and we’re so grateful to have spent this special part of our journey here. Thank you, Colin and Gilly – we hope to return one day!

The bed was at an ankle, too soft in certain spots resulting in back pains.

Beautiful view close to town and lovely hosts with all kinds of helpful suggestions. Gilly is a great baker and shares her cooking with guests. Yum! Outdoor bath at the end of a touring day is fantastic.

Definitely felt like home from home, nothing was too much trouble for Gilly and Colin. We had delicious croissants and home made biscuits, used the ebikes and spades for the hot water beach. The bed is extremely comfortable and we loved the outdoor bath 😃

We loved the warm friendly welcome on arrival and wishing me a happy birthday with a bottle of bubbles and chocolates in the room was very special. My partner likes coffee and he had so many options to pick from, and we loved the homemade Anzac cookies. Specially my partner who tried them for the first time (he is Indian lol). The view was incredible and such a great location. Gilly and Colin offered us the opportunity to take their E-bikes into town and they were great fun. They lent us the little spades for hot water beach too. Gillys home made croissants in the morning were amazing.

Where to begin!? Everything about this stay was exceptional but the hosts went above and beyond. They have put so much time, energy, thought and enthusiasm into making each guests stay a memorable experience. Home made cookies and croissants. Use of garage for bikes, washing machine, grill... Private setting with gorgeous water views. Very comfy, cozy, very well equipped and great value. You will not be disappointed. We were thrilled. Close enough to walk to beach and town, yet quiet and peaceful.

Gilly and Colin are simply the best! We travel a lot and have met a lot of nice people, but they are really outstanding hosts - and people. On top of that the room is in a perfect location, quiet, cosy, yet very close to Whitianga, with a beautiful view from the room and garden (close to the seaside), and the bath tub on the terrace was the icing on the cake! Dear Gilly and Colin, if you should ever come to Germany, give us a ring! Thanks again!

The hosts were like family! Could not do enough to make us comfortable! It felt like home.

Pretty much everything about the property is awesome great view and setup is great.Jilly and Colin are friendly and accommodating. I had organized flowers to be delivered and Gilly had them there and she even added a bottle of prosecco and to top if off she made fresh croissants.

The house has an amazing view and path to the beach. It's very central to the town and has everything that we need for our weekend away. They are such a kind couple who made us feel a home. They even gave us fresh croissants in the morning and let us do a late check-out! We couldn't ask for a better host and place! I highly recommend this stunning place and definitely will be back!

Wonderful, prime location with majestic bay views. This elevated, cozy space has everything you need for a perfect stay. We loved their personal touch and friendly, easy communication. Gilly and Collin are welcoming, friendly, warm and lovely. The room is well equipped and there's an outdoor garden terrace all for you to enjoy, complete with deck and outdoor hot tub. We felt at home and very comfortable. It has a home-away-from-home feel with indulgent details like an espresso machine, super comfy plush bed, outdoor hot tub and they even served delicious freshly baked croissants in the morning. Brophys Beach House is wonderfully situated on a terrace overlooking the magnificent bay, featuring pristine views. Its a quiet spot only minutes from town and all the entertainment and food hubs of Whitianga. We will definitely recommend Brophys Beach House to anyone looking for a relaxed holiday hotspot in beautiful settings with a personal touch in a serene atmosphere.

This place would have to be one of our favourite BnBs we’ve visited in NZ! Nestled into the bank of Brophys Bay, the studio looks onto the gorgeous coastline of Whitianga’s Buffalo Beach. It has everything we needed for our weekend getaway - Netflix, a comfy bed, outside coffee spot. They also have an outdoor bathtub, a little pathway that leads to the ocean and, the highlight of my morning, home made croissants with butter and jam. They made us feel so welcome and were exceptional hosts.

That we couldn’t stay longer.
