Riad Mazar is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at. The interiors are simply amazing. I liked that the riad was not too big. The staff was incredibly helpful arranging guides for us to visit Meknes and Volubilis, and also Fes. In addition, they arranged transportation to the riad, and also hired us a driver to take us up to Chefchaouen, our next destination. I can't recommend this hotel enough!
Beautifully restored public space. Bedding was nice.
Bathrooms were not the greatest (rusted current rod, torn shower curtain). No water glasses in the room and staff unable to locate them. No ice available (staff didn't have a key for it and we were told to wait several hours for it). Parking is not reserved so if there is none available they tell you to drive around and find something and it that's should be "better later. ". Staff unable to get a taxi - we were told to walk several blocks and that we'd find them. If you don't speak the language that's not helpful and we spent 30 minutes driving in circles to get to creatures because the driver didn't know where it was (would be nice for staff to either hail a taxi or walk up with the guest to aid in communication). All these are compounding examples that made us unhappy.
Le décor et l’amabilité du personnel
Une chambre un peu petite mais c’est de ma faute j’aurais du prendre un peu plus grand
Riad Mazar is truly one of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. The owner has done an incredible job in designing and decorating the space. it reflects exceptional taste and attention to detail. Every corner of the riad feels thoughtfully curated, blending traditional Moroccan charm with a refined aesthetic. The ambience is simply stunning, creating a peaceful and luxurious experience at the same time. It’s not just a place to stay, but a place to admire and soak in the beauty. An exceptionally beautiful and memorable property. Felt warm and like home.
All excellent
All good
This hotel was spectacular. The staff was exceptional in every way. They were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and caring. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The property was simply stunning in its beauty. I also greatly enjoyed the breakfast and the location near the Medina. I will stay here again on my next visit to Fes.
I have no complaints.
Excellent location in a stunning riad that feels like home. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by care and comfort. The riad itself is like a museum — absolutely beautiful, a true feast for the eyes, with every detail reflecting the spirit of Morocco. It’s located inside the Medina, yet on a quiet street, with a laundry and all necessary amenities nearby. A special mention goes to breakfast: a traditional Moroccan breakfast, very hearty and delicious! Huge thanks to the staff — we felt cared for in every way
I might be wrong, but it seemed like the floor in the room hadn’t been washed. That was the only downside.
Riad meraviglioso. Staff cordiale e accogliente. Colazione tipica, ottima e di qualità. Pulitissimo. Ci siamo sentiti a casa.
Nice curated collection of antiquities and good heartfelt hospitality.
La meravigliosa architettura
Zone comuni dove si serve la colazione fredde completamente senza riscaldamento
Very beautiful and well maintained riad. The owner and staff were very warm and welcoming. We loved the young man from Errachidia who helped us park our car, get to our room, put the soccer game on our TV, and served us breakfast. The riad was attached to the Medina so a very quick walk over, but quiet at night.
firat the staff is exceptional! Oumaima was the main hostess and was extremely kind but also helpful in arranging transport for me to another city as well as letting me know about laundry services the Riad could provide and general suggestions and directions in the Medina. second, the breakfasts were outstanding. the homemade bread was the best I've ever had. so flaky cranny on the outside but extremely soft on the inside. lastly, the Riad is beautiful and the room was enjoyable to stay in.
can't think anything really that I didn't like. if I had to say something, maybe a little closer to the blue gate a that was how I entered the Medina every day. but it's already. lose enough, just about an 8-minute walk.
The property is stunning and impeccably clean. Breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of options including breads, fruits, and sweet treats. Siham truly masters the art of hospitality! She is amazing and caring, just like the rest of the staff! Definitely the highlight of the place. When we couldn’t reach the tour we had booked, she went above and beyond to contact them and ensure we had a great experience. Finally, the location is perfect, just a few steps from the Medina. I highly recommend this place!
Nothing
A wonderful stay at Riad Al Mazar in Fes. The riad is beautifully decorated, very clean, and full of authentic charm. The staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout my visit. It’s a peaceful place in a great location, perfect for experiencing the heart of the medina. I truly enjoyed my time there and would happily return.
Nothing
Everything but especially the wonderful treatment provided by longtime concierge Siham and her staff and the ornate but restrained decoration masterminded by owner Halid. I bought spring vegeatbels (artichoke bottoms, favas and peas) in the Rcif market on our first day and for our lunch on the second Sihad arraned for the kitchen to make them into a tagione for us, perhaps the best dish we ate in Morocco. One of the all time favorite hotels anywhere of two longtime travellers.
The coffee at breakfast.
Decoration and location and service
Beautiful hotel, good location (next to the blue gate and Close to shops, Cafe Clock), good breakfast
Very small rooms
Road Mazar is a total gem. The staff were brilliant from arrival to departure, nothing was too much trouble, they were keen to help with a smile. The public areas of the road are stunning and the rooms beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious treat to start the day and the location is easily accessible, being reachable by taxi but right on the edge of the Medina. We only left today and have already recommended this accommodation to friends.
Nothing, considering the price this is an unbelievable stay.
Beautiful and charming old Riad, with a new addition just opening.
Poor WiFi reception, no restaurant, only a bread-heavy breakfast without choices. The lobby area was unheated and so the guests and owners had to wear jackets or coats.
The staff was super friendly. We felt immediately welcome and the hotel itself is recently updated and beautiful. It is located right at the entrance to the medina, which made exploring easy. They connected us with a local tour guide as well which was helpful in navigating the medina and actually getting to meet some locals.
Nothing comes to mind.
It was a good location, peaceful but not far from the blue door entrance to the hustle and bustle of the Medina. Beautiful Riad, new but old world style with incredible tiling and wood and marble carving detail. Great to have an elevator too!
The bed could be more comfortable - maybe a mattress topper needed
Riad Mazar was the best Riad we stayed at in Morocco. Siham and all the staff were exceptional; they were professional, friendly and went out of their way to help us with everything. The entire building and rooms were beautiful, clean and comfortable and the bathrooms spotless. Breakfast every morning was freshly made, delicious and very generous. Siham arranged a walking tour of Fes for us, helped us choose a lovely Hammam and even spoke to a taxi driver on the phone after hours, when we got lost. The location is also excellent, with many restaurants near by and an easy walk to the Souk. Thank you to the whole Mazar team for a truly memorable stay.
Everything was excellent.
This is the Riad we were looking forward the most on our trip. And we weren't disappointed. Heartily welcomed by Siham we first were given a tea and had time to admit the wonderful decoration of the lobby. Our room was beautiful and large with a very comfortable bed. We stayed in the 3rd floor. But don't worry - there is even an elevator. Parking just next to the door. 20 DRH per night. Overall - highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!
Wifi was a little bit slow.
Wonderful staff, location, and interior
The noise at night
The staff were superb, with attentive and friendly service on all subjects that arose. Good advice on restaurants and tour guides. The building is gorgeous, in both the public spaces and our individual room. Breakfast was prepared well but just too generously! Location is terrific, in a part of the old Medina where it’s actually possible to park a car, and only about a five minute walk from the Blue Gate and the main “street” through the Medina.
Nothing.
Siham and her staff are a wonderful combination of hospitality and friendship. They made us feel so comfortable and at home during the four nights we stayed at Riad Mazar. We were only sorry to have to leave. Wonderful breakfasts, comfortable rooms and beds, it’s no wonder that they’re so highly rated.
There is nothing not to like: a beautiful building, great service, easy access to guides and drivers. We’ll be back!
I like that cosy vibe in the raid, staff was friendly and adhered to all our requests.
The rooms were slightly small, we couldn't open our luggages in the room..
location, we parked right at the door of the riad. when you arrive in the evening it makes a big difference. amazingly decorated, Fes traditional house at its finest. Siham made us feel home. the rooms were out of an oriental fairy tale ☺️. breakfast was lovely with the best Harcha I ever had and I am Moroccan. Even my very critical mum thought the same 😉.
nothing
The Riad is beautiful. Beautiful tile work and detailed plaster. You are on top of the medina so you descend down and down as you go further into the medina, so location is great. Rooms were clean, shower and bathroom nice, and the staff were welcoming.
They facilitated organizing a walking tour for us, excellent but be warned this is a walking tour where they take you around to shops were they make a commission from you (scarfs, carpet, stitching, leather tannery, and wood working). I personally would have preferred a tour not focused on that, my recommendation is find your own tour. I wish this was more transparent when they explained to us. I wish it had a pool to cool off in during the hot days.
Amazing décor, situated in a quiet neighborhood. The room is spacious, tastefully decorated and the bed is very comfortable. The owner and staff are welcoming, taking good care of their guests. A place to come back to.
Good location, good breakfast, very clean and comfortable room, very beautiful hall and decoration in the riad. Great service - always ready to help you with every question: book an excursion, give advice where to eat, where to find a taxi and what should be the price, have an early breakfast, what to see, how to find smth (even go with you and show for example where is the cafe if you have difficulties with orientation in the Medina). Also special thank for upgrading my room without additional payment - I was so confused, because I mixed the room I booked with another riad (long trip)
Everything was good. Maybe only the problem of all riads - you can hear your neighbours and they you and what is going on in the hall. But I still recommend to stay in riad.
This beautiful Riad was quite the find! It has an elevator and is located by the road for easy pick up and drop off. Siham, the manager, treated us like family and was very helpful with everything we needed. The Riad has 6 rooms designed in the traditional mosaic tiles and by the end of 2022, it would already have a swimming pool. We couldn't stop taking pictures of the courtyard with fountains, the inner dining room, the facade of windows, etc. We pre-booked a dinner for our arrival date and wow, it was plentiful and yummy! Tip: Riads and restaurants do not sell alcohol, but you're welcome to bring wine without corkage fee
