Mooi huis op een supergave plek met mooi uitzicht op lake Gregory en het omliggende park. Bij aankomst stond er gelijk personeel klaar om de koffers omhoog te tillen. Ontbijt was weer heerlijk en werd door de 2 eigenaren in hun keuken klaargemaakt en wij zaten in hun woonkamer voor ontbijt. Echt heel knus.

We werden netjes en vriendelijk ontvangen bij Medalin Lake Gregory. De kamer was ruim, netjes en comfortabel. De eigenaar kwam persoonlijk vragen hoe laat we de volgende ochtend zouden vertrekken en hoe we het ontbijt graag wilden. Wij hadden dit verblijf vooral geboekt als overnachtingshotel, maar werden positief verrast door de gastvrijheid. Speciaal voor de kinderen werden er wafels gemaakt, wat natuurlijk erg leuk was. Door een misverstand moesten we het ontbijt op het laatste moment meenemen. Dit werd heel netjes en snel voor ons ingepakt, zodat we op tijd onze trein konden halen. Omdat het de avond ervoor had geregend en we na aankomst zin hadden in een warme douche, was het wel jammer dat het water helaas koud bleef. Bij vertrek regende het flink. We werden geholpen met onze bagage en ze hielpen zelfs met het droogmaken van onze tuktuk. Dit vonden we erg attent en vriendelijke service.

Houd er wel rekening mee dat de omgeving rond het hotel wat gehorig kan zijn. Tijdens ons verblijf was er toevallig een soort kermis in de buurt. Daarnaast blaften 's nachts regelmatig honden van omwonenden naar elkaar. Dit ligt uiteraard niet direct aan het hotel, maar kan wel voor wat geluidsoverlast zorgen.

The rooms are good sized, and with wonderful views over the lake. The family that runs the hotel are excellent, polite, very nice people, who try to help with everything. The location is good, well placed for walks around the lake. A supermarket is a 10 minute walk away, and the city centre can easily be reached by a short cheap tuktuk ride (300 SLR one way as of July 2026, plus do tip the driver a bit more). There are restaurants around as well, a couple of good Indian ones some distance away on the right hand side - the ones close by including the pizza place we found okayish.

This is a homestay, so don't expect hotel levels of professionalism; the owners and staff will respond quickly to any requests you make, e.g. please clean the room, or refill the coffee packets (its not automatically done). Also - and this is not the hotels fault at all - the nearby lake park plays quite loud booming music till about 10 PM or even 11 PM if that is a problem for you; nothing the hotel can do about it. I used earplugs.

Morgens und Abends war es im Zimmer kalt. Wir mussten mit langer Kleidung und Socken schlafen. Wir hatten kalte Füße weil der Boden kalt war. Es dauert bis warmes Duschwasser kommt und wenn die ganze Familie duschen möchte ist das Wasser schnell wieder kalt.

Logement très propre. Emplacement pres du lac au calme, quelques restos à côté. Le propriétaire est très gentil

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich die tollen Gastgeber. Sie waren sehr bemüht uns alles rechtzumachen, konnten uns mit unseren Fragen helfen und es gab ein grandioses Frühstück.

Leider war es in dem Zimmer recht kalt. Ein kleiner Heizstrahler würde hier sicher helfen.

Keeth and his extended family are very gracious and helpful hosts. The property is beautiful with spacious rooms. Our room was on the first floor and accessible by a central wooden staircase. Our room had 2 double beds, quilts, a room heater, a TV/leisure area with couches, a balcony and an attached bathroom with all the fitments expected. The morning breakfast is home made and well presented. The local Sri Lankan food is available on request, but you have to let them know in advance as its home made. Keeth and family are very helpful in arranging vehicles for local sightseeing or even for travel to Kandy/Colombo etc. The location of the property is right overlooking Lake Gregory and the park. Its a 2 Km walk from the Nuwara Eliya City center and there are good restaurants around the property, including an Indian and another Italian food restaurant within 50 m.

Honestly nothing that we didnt like.

Amazing views of the lake and garden in front. Best were the hosts. They were just amazing family made us feel like we were their own family guests.

Mi estancia en esta habitación en Sri Lanka fue muy agradable. La habitación estaba limpia, era cómoda y contaba con lo necesario para disfrutar de una buena estancia. El personal fue amable y siempre estuvo dispuesto a ayudar. La ubicación también era conveniente para explorar la zona.

Como aspectos a mejorar, el desayuno podría mejorar, el wifi podría ser más estable y algunos detalles de mantenimiento podrían recibir más atención. Aun así, la relación calidad-precio es buena y recomendaría este alojamiento a quienes visiten Sri Lanka.

Domáci boli úžasní, pripravili bohaté raňajky skoro ráno. Pribalili nám ovocie z ich záhrady. Raňajky prebiehali v ich kuchyni, kde bývali, prišli aj so svojim malým synom. Atmosféra bola veľmi priateľská a prirodzená. Pomáhali s kuframi a poradili so zmenou nástupnej stanice pre cestu vlakom - všetko preverili hoci bolo neskoro večer. Ráno nám domáci vysvetlil špecifiká okolia a plány s ubytovaním. Veľmi milí a ochotní ľudia.

The food. They gave exceptionally good breakfast. Laction was good.

Perfect stay! The staff were wonderful and very good people and helped us with more then just the room requirement. Their food is delicious and the room was big and comfy. Hot water in the shower! We had the best time we could have Dont have any doubts and book your stay here!!

Had a great stay at this property. We had 2 rooms which were a great size and with views over the lake. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty and the owners very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The property sits right opposite the lake , the main access to the lake is within walking distance of the hotel so 10/10 for the location Also the manager was extremely helpful- shout out to Keith!

Old bulding... every this either not working will or old enough.. Car park is so bad it's sneaky way to get your luggage off Imagine in2026 and the front of this place is sand and dust when rain fall it's become mud...

Location was good. Staff was marvellous. They were excellent. Breakfast was out of the world . Much satisfied

We had all the facilities in the property from milk powder to hair dryer. Everything was very neat and clean. The rooms were very big with proper ventilation. Also we ordered sandwiches to eat and they were amazingly delicious.

Este hotel tiene todo lo bueno que se puede pedir en un hotel, comenzando por la ubicación y sus vistas, son impresionantes a todo el lago y el parque Victoria. La habitación en enorme con un saloncito y varios rincones donde descansar y además su personal que está atento en todo momento! Muuuy recomendable!

Das Zimmer war groß und man fühlte sich wie in England. Zum Frühstück gab es köstliche Waffeln mit Honig. Ganz frisch.

Bis 22 Uhr ist die Musik vom Freizeitpark zu hören, bzw. sind die Bässe fast zu spüren.

This place is very clean,attractive and calm place .

It was a very nice cozy hotel. Our room had a wonderful view. The room was spacious enough and clean. The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom had all necessary amenities and running hot water. The Owner was very co-operative and friendly. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back again if we ever re-visit Nuwara Eliya.

The host & family were extremely welcoming. The room was ready before we arrived. Took good care of us.

Close to town and a free environment.

Everything was great. Hosts were lovely and very attentive. Gave us a great recommendation for dinner which was close by- Frost Bite. Breakfast in the morning was awesome. Everything was very tasty.

I stayed only one night but I really enjoyed the place. The room is huge and has everything you need, hot water, shower gel, wifi, etc. The view from the room is amazing, the bed is comfy. The breakfast is really delicious.

Une grande chambre confortable avec vue sur le lac Gregory. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux et délicieux. Nous avons également été accueilli par le nouveau petit-fils (2 mois) des propriétaires 😍.

Un rafraîchissement de l’établissement serait souhaitable, mais toutes les prestations proposées compensent ce point de détail.

I would say highly recommend to come here. They have a blacony with stunning lake view. The location is very close to Lake Grogery. And there is a lovely restaurant nearby. Also you can walk to supermarket to buy some groceries. The room is also very cozy.

Good location for easy access to all nuwara eliya sites. Big rooms and comfy beds, hot shower. Lovely, warm hosts.

The people who run the place are extremely friendly and helpful. As we wanted to have two beds in our room but that option wasn't available for the dates that we books, they upgraded our room to a very spacious room with two big beds. I requested two beds if possible when I booked the room. We enjoy a cold beer in the evenings and we were able to keep the cold beer we had bought in their fridge, which was very kind of them. Lovely people and a very well run place to stay. I really recommend it. The location is also great with a good restaurant next door.

Large and spacious room with Beautiful view of Gregory Lake. The staff is very friendly and suggested a Tuk Tuk driver (Ranji) to take us to the tea plantations. Ranji was amazing and gave us an incredible experience . We had to catch the train early morning and the staff prepared a breakfast to go with egg/sausage sandwich & yummy oranges!

Fijne locatie in het rustige deel van Nuwara Eliya. Schoonste kamer tot nu toe in Sri Lanka met heerlijke bedden. + uitzicht op het Gregory Lake. Aanrader!!

Miejsce ma piękny widok na jezioro. Łóżka są bardzo duże i wygodne. W pokojach było bardzo przestrzennie i potrzebne udogodnienia były na miejscu. Właściciel był niesamowicie miły i pomocny. Śniadania były bardzo dobre. Szczerze polecam!
