Reviewed Aug 31, 2026The room we stayed at was very clean and well organized. The location was grate for our trip. The owner was very friendly and was ready to assist us if we needed anything.
The bed seems comfortable but in the morning we both didn't like it. Also there was a lot of noise from other guests who were sitting outside until late in the night.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Der Eigentümer ist super freundlich, gibt nützliche Tipps und für die Sauberkeit würden wir auch 12 Punkte geben. Die Betten sind super bequem, alles ist frisch renoviert. Man bekommt, was die Buchung verspricht.
Der Preis ist vielleicht etwas zu hoch, aber es gibt auch nicht viel Auswahl in Port Hope, das wäre eigentlich ein Punktabzug. Wegen der Sauberkeit und Freundlichkeit geben wir trotzdem 10 Punkte.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026This motel is run by the hardest working couple on earth. My mom and I were welcomed like family. The rooms were spotless clean , and the beds were very comfortable. The owners never stop working. The flowers , plants , and details will be noticed right away. I was expecting a very basic room and was so happily surprised with my modern room , that was perfectly kept in every way. The price is beyond reasonable. The location is 5 to 10 minutes from town , fishing ,beaches , and the town has a wonderful theater to see plays and musicals at. Great place , great price , and great owners. I love supporting independent business owners and this is a hidden gem !

Very thoughtful and a great host, for example, he saw I was coming from Montreal and changed the signs in my room to French, which was such a nice touch. I've stayed in a lot of hotels for work, but this one was by far the cleanest I've ever stayed in. If I'm ever in Port Hope again, I will absolutely be staying there.

Reviewed May 16, 2026We had a really positive experience at Budget Inn. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and offered excellent value for the price — exactly what we were looking for. What stood out even more was how kind and hardworking the family running the property is. You can tell they put a lot of effort into maintaining the motel and making guests feel welcome. Family-run businesses work incredibly hard and deserve support, especially when they take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for an affordable, clean place to stay and want to support a hardworking local family, I’d definitely recommend Budget Inn.

I travel a lot for business and this is one of my favourite stays Great location if you are coming from the east and want to stop just outside of Toronto. No breakfast but the host gave me a discount coupon for a nearby pancake house. Had a great breakfast for $10.
