Amazing location for those loving nature and excellent value for money
We had a fantastic stay at Whipstock. The farm was absolutely beautiful and a hidden gem, perfect for people looking for a retreat. Sindy and Kym were amazing hosts, and we loved the hospitality and breakfast.
We didnt have breakfast. Location was amazing
Nothing to not like in the one night we were there
We had an amazing time at Whipstock. Sindy was a perfect host and even picked us up at the end of the Boesmanskloof hike. We got served a 3 course diner that was perfect and enjoyed the quite surroundings of the farm and it's animals.
Our stay at the farm was wonderful. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole place feel warm and relaxed from the moment you arrive. The farm has a beautiful, authentic old-world atmosphere with lots of character. There’s a lovely lake nearby and a walking trail that starts from the farm, which is perfect for enjoying nature. We also loved the friendly cats on the property. In the evenings you can play billiards or table tennis, which makes the stay even more fun. Breakfast was included and very nice. ♥️🥰 The only thing to keep in mind for those who find it important is that the last 10 km of the road to the farm is a gravel road. A truly charming and unique place — we would happily come back.
Everything was very good♥️
Fantastic location, wish I could stay for a year.
hervorragendes Frühstück,
An absolute gem. Beautiful, serene farm, quaint and well kept cottages and such wonderful hospitality. It was the perfect solo retreat and I will definitely be back again soon!

Le site est incroyable, petit déjeuner excellent et excellent accueil
I loved the cosy cottage vibes. I felt like I was in "The Holiday" movie :) Perfect for a solo getaway. The cottage had everything one could need.

LOVED EVERYTHING
Our hostess was so friendly and helpful, and the owner full of such interesting information. The accommodation was just perfect, cosy but comfortable. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. The dam was such fun to swim in and boat on. Our boy loved the pool table and table tennis facilities 🤩🎉... And we all fell in love with the 10 month old kittens, and dear old Queenie 🥰 Superb 4 nights stay in a beautiful part of the world.
My only complaint would be the mugs were too small for our morning coffees 🥴
Beautiful views, excellent host, food was delicious with generous portions and accommodation was clean and neat. Nice retreat from the hustle and bustle.
Cindy and Kim are the perfect hosts. We had a flat tire 4km before location and Kim assisted with shopping list from town. The units were spotless clean and it was overall a really great experience.
Very lovely and quiet place to spend your weekend
Lovely, safe and quiet. Good place to rest . Beautiful nature, surrounded by mountains.
Sindy is a wonderful manager. The location is beautiful and peaceful. I hope to return
We had a fantastic stay at Whipstock Guest Farm! From the moment weI arrived, the reception was warm and welcoming, which immediately made us feel at home. Sindy was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to help with anything we needed and offering great suggestions to make the visit even better. The breakfast was a real highlight—fresh, tasty, and made with care. It felt like a proper farm-style start to the day, and it set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The atmosphere of the farm is peaceful, well-kept, and truly charming. Overall, Whipstock Guest Farm is a place we woukd happily return to and definitely recommend to others. Wonderful people, excellent hospitality, and a great experience from start to finish!
A Very generous breakfast, beautiful farm setting in a lovely old farmhouse
Great location, amazing staff. Would definitely return
This guest farm far exceeded my expectations. Sindy and Kim were the most exceptional hosts. The upgraded room they offered me was wonderfully rustic but with every luxury and comfort I could want. The continental breakfast the next morning was superb with fresh rolls from the oven, fresh fruit salad, great coffee, served in a fresh and inviting cafe dining room. With a place more off the beaten track than I expected, it offered everything I could want from a top grade hotel (thankfully without a tv in the room) along with great care and kindness. Well done and thank you.
The place was very good .My family enjoyed the experience .We looking forward to go back and stay a little bit longer than last time
I think they need to put Tv's in the rooms otherwise everything else is awesome
Beautiful and quiet location with the most amazing view to the mountains. The breakfast was absolutely awesome!
Sehr ruhige Lage nette Gastgeber rustikal ausgestattet gern wieder

La distance entre la ville et le lieu d hébergement. 10 à 15 minutes de pistes.
Everything!!! We took our daughter for her first birthday, and she loves birds - there were two blue cranes always about, weavers, lots of mallard ducks, southern red bishops and more. The old country house decor of the rooms was so gorgeous and were the old grape vines climbing up the front of the chalet. The red roses were just in bloom and they added a certain magic. The dam, the pond, the swings, the reeds, being in the quiet of the country…. It was much more than we expected! And the hostess was so lovely, she made us feel so welcome and even helped us with sticky tape for pressie wrapping. She definitely made our stay much more pleasant by her warmth. The walks into the country were so calming, no sounds, just the birds and the trees…. A space to come back to yourself through nature. Highly recommend!!!
Nothing. It was amazing.
Stunning location
Beautiful farm with well-equipped accommodation in the scenic mountains near McGregor. We enjoyed the stay. The breakfast was excellent. Sindy is a wonderful and sparkling host.
The open uncluttered space and old farmhouse charm
Loved everything
We had such a lovely stay at whipstock. The farm Is beautiful and peaceful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was amazing!
I loved the cottage, cosy and very comfortable, in a beautiful historic building. Peaceful serene countryside atmosphere. I
I have no complaints.
The location is great, close enough to town but far enough away that you feel like you are in a little oasis. The room had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable and the fireplace made it very cosey.
The pillows are a little tired themselves but otherwise nothing we did not like.
Great friendly manager and a laid back farm. Super epic views and a fantastic dam to chill at. Its a great farm to book out for a family or friend gathering.
Beautiful surroundings & excellent host Sindy
Loved Sindy, the chalet, the view, the blossoms on the almond trees, the walks, the dam, feeding the bird life, all of it.
A beautiful, quiet location for rest and relaxation
The place is beautiful. We loved the dam and canoeing, the swinging bench, the setup, and the surrounding beauty of the place.
The location, tranquility and beauty of the surroundings and wonderful staff
We spent a magical weekend at Whipstock Farm in McGregor and returned home feeling completely refreshed and reconnected with nature. Nestled in the foothills outside the village, the farm is a haven of stillness, simplicity, and old-world charm. The accommodation is rustic but full of heart—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared with everything that we might need. We loved waking up to the sound of birdsong, sitting on the stoep with our coffee, and watching the morning light stretch across the fields and surrounding mountains. Our days were filled with gentle walks, visits to local coffee shops, and unhurried meals shared in good company. The landscape is breathtaking: rolling hills, dusty trails, crisp Karoo air, and dramatic skies—ideal for those looking to slow down and soak up the soul of the countryside. The hosts were welcoming and relaxed, giving us space to just be, while still making us feel like treasured guests. Whipstock Farm is the kind of place that lingers with you long after you’ve left. If you’re looking for a digital detox, a creative reset, or quality time with loved ones in a beautiful, honest setting—this is it.
Nothing
Sindy and her hubby, they were the most friendly hosts and very helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
Our farm stay wonderful , there is such peace in and relaxation on the farm. All we needed was available.
The farm dam was a real treat, kids loved it
Beautiful view, comfortable stay, great breakfast
Value for money, quiet and peaceful, clean facilities.
Would have like some walking/hiking trials of about 5km or more around the farm or across local farms
Wonderful farm stay in an amazing location with great hosts, we will be back again next year.
Fantastic breakfast with meusli, cold meats, freshly baked pastries, juice, coffee/tea and bacon & eggs - Cindy really makes a special breakfast. Cosy room with exquisite views of the surrounding countryside. Quiet and serene we had a great night's rest.
Fireplace draft was not great so the room got a bit smoked up. Please add placemats and/or a tablecloth for self-catering meals. There are candles but no candle holder.
Just a lovely experience. Super helpful. Gorgeous landscape.

Everything is so clean and comfortable. All the extra touches were so special. Sindy was so warm, friendly and welcoming. Beautiful farm. If possible, opt for the breakfast as that was a 10/10.

Lovely get away from the city. Chalet was comfortable, clean and well maintained. Surprisingly excellent WiFi given how far out it is
Whipstock Farm is a gem….the quintessential farm stay in beautiful surroundings. Sindy is a brilliant host.
Whilst the gravel road to get to the farm is quite long, it is absolutely worth it. This really is a peace of heaven on earth. Sindy was fantastic, looking after all our needs. The fishing is good, the facilities are great, fans in the room appreciated. Lovely breakfast cooked fresh fit for a king. Took hundreds of photos. Beds are comfortable, good hot water in the shower. Amazing tranquil environment. This is a must stay for all fellow rat racers. Ten out of ten.
Even though this is a family establishment, there were a lot of noisy children, running around, being very loud - also at the fishing location, when they arrived, we had to pack up, as they were un-supervised by their parents and were very noisy.
Well managed and heartfelt sincere people.
We stayed in one of the self catering units. Plenty of space, comfy bed in a lovely renovated cottage. The farm is very old and traditional with beautiful views of the mountains. Very close to the Boesmanskloof hike and Vrolijkheid reserve and McGregor is close by for restaurants. Sindy manages the accommodation and is very helpful and friendly!
All good.

Out in the farming community. Little light pollution. Amenities excellent.
Beautiful location, Cindy super helpful, lovely walks possible nearby even if you don't go on the long walk to Greyton, lovely breakfast. Thank you!

Cindy is a wonderful host. The meals were fabulous
Units are not very sound proof.
Sindy is an exceptional host. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. She made sure we had everything we needed. The conversations with both Sindy & Kim were so refreshing and memorable. They're not just wonderful host, but also great ambassadors for tourism in the area. Thank you, Sindy & Kim, for making our stay extra special & memorable 💖 Joe & Florina
