Kingfisher Bamboo Garden Villa

Sehr schöne und hochwertige Ausstattung Ruhige Lage Freundliche und hilfsbereite Besitzer & Frau / Mitarbeiterin Süßer, gut erzogener Hund

Everything was excelent

Huge rooms. Very nice room and bathroom for the price. Close to the beach and restaurants.

Loved everything

The family and staff were all so lovely. The hotel was really cozy. We loved how huge the room & bathroom was. The beds were insanely comfortable with good pillows and super soft sheets. They don’t have blankets, just a sheet but I was able to get an extra sheet to double up with as I just like to sleep with the A/C on and be under a heavier blanket. The wifi worked good. They have large TVs but they aren’t smart TVs. They do have a cable box with some English channels like kids programs and tlc and discovery channel as well as a couple of English movie channels. The concrete couch area was surprisingly comfortable! The A/C worked really well, there was always hot water. The rooms are always super clean. It was great to be able to watch the quiet/shy monkeys daily from the balcony- I was able to leave clothes drying and the monkeys were uninterested in trying to take our stuff that we left outside. The breakfast at the sister hotel/restaurant was truly delicious- breakfast ends at 10am. I will add that if you wanted to try the Sri Lankan breakfast you are supposed to pre order it as they never had it readily available. There was always plenty of lounge chairs at the sister hotel and never had trouble getting a spot.

The only thing I think could use improvement is that It’s a little insconspicious at first on how to get into the hotel as its entrance is a large wood door entering through a tall concrete wall so you can’t actually see if your in the right place or if it’s private property etc. there is a sign close by but not directly on the entrance door. Cars are also not able to get “in” the property but can drop you off out front of the wooden doors in which you will need to let yourself in.

We thought the room was nicely decorated and big, the staff were super friendly and we loved the balcony space!

Everything! This place was an oasis in a busy area. The location was great, the staff were incredible, and the room was insane value for money. It was so big and spacious and comfortable. The balcony was lovely and you could see monkeys, squirrels and birdlife. Also - the dog Luna stole our hearts! We wish we had longer here.

Nothing, it was perfect.

Nichts

The room was stunning and very comfortable beds. Great location next to lots of restaurants and a very close walk to the beach. The sister property on the beach was excellent!

In an excellent location - right between the main beach street and beach. The property itself is beautiful and feels very homely. The room was huge, clean and had some lovely features (huge bed, spacious room, a TV), the bathroom was very clean and felt luxurious! The room also had a beautiful spacious balcony.

Nothing!

- location - pet dog named tuna

- host was non responsive - it is an old house - even we asked for bedsheets, they said no

È una bellissima struttura, pulita super accogliente e moderna. I proprietari gentilissimi e super disponibili.

Nothing

Amazing bathroom. Spacious room wth big balcony.

All great

Kingfisher is not even a hotel - it's a piece of home far from home. It's beautiful, cozy, and stylish (which is rare for Unawatuna). The house is lovely, and the owners are wonderful. The triple room is huge, the mattresses are excellent, and the balcony is large and cozy. There are no issues with hot water, and the room service is excellent. Special thanks to the hostess for her warmth and care. We look forward to returning again.

Amazing stay here. The room was beautiful, such good value for such luxury. The staff are very kind and helpful and we loved luna the dog🥰 Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, we wished we could've stayed longer.

Location is perfect just in the heart of Unawatuna. Nice restaurant and cafes nearby. Room is huge! Loved the bathroom and big plus for hairdryer. We enjoyed our stay!

size of the room is massive. overly exceeded expectation and even the bed is huge not to forget the amazing bathroom with the jacuzzi in it. we loved this.

Fantastic staff, my partner had a medical emergency in the middle of the night and the owner Duminda went above and beyond, sorted out an ambulance and was extremely helpful. The property itself is lovely, beautiful big rooms and fantastic tub and balcony.

Not really terrible but the one downside is that you have to walk down to the sister property on the beach which is about 800 meters down the road for breakfast. But it’s not a difficult walk and we just stayed there and enjoyed the sun beds for the rest of the day.

Comfortable bed, good sized bedroom and bathroom, lovely garden with visiting monkeys

No information from staff, not very welcoming, wasn’t advertised that you had to go to their other property for breakfast - I only found this out when I asked what time breakfast was and they didn’t know what I was talking about. Two staff on arrival, one understood very little English the other understood none. Didn’t appear to be expecting us to arrive, had difficulty finding our booking, had to contact the other property to come and explain about breakfast and to give us a chitty to order our breakfast and take with us the following morning. Breakfast below standard, tasteless, was a set menu which gave option of fruit juice, tea or coffee, eg. if you wanted fruit juice and tea you had to pay extra for a tiny cup of tea not even a pot. Shower drain needed clearing as it didn’t drain at all well.

Lovely rooms, very spacious with balconies, big bed and huge bathroom. Very central location right next to the Main Street.

Breakfast - it is at the sister hotel which is a good 10min walk away. This was not made clear upon check in and I had to ask. The dog Luna is lovely, such a friendly little pup however, each morning we were woken by her barking at the monkeys in the trees. One morning this was 4am.

Amazing how big it is! Clean and super chill! Everything was perfect, we also saw monkeys every morning in the tree. The staf was super nice and the cleaned every two days the room! Best stay!

Everything specially the location

Nothing

The room and the hotel were absolutely amazing. The room and bathroom were huge,it was nice and cosy. They even prepared a little surprise for our honeymoon, we were so grateful. The communication was good and the staff in the Bamboo Garden Villa was pleasant and welcoming. We also loved the dog running around. Breakfast was tasty and we did not mind the walk to another hotel.

These are not really cons, more like room for improvement, we were really happy in the hotel: - Breakfast is not a buffet, but you can choose from western or Sri Lankan breakfast. Sri Lankan were not available, while we were staying. Western were tasty, but basically the same, so if you are staying for longer time, it could be monotone. No water included for breakfast, but you can pay extra to get water. -The sunbeds are limited as well as the umbrellas, so it might happen, you will not get one. - Staff in the Kingfisher hotel were not as friendly as in the Bamboo Villa Garden, maybe there was language barrier, we were not sure.

Huge room with nice balcony. In good position.

Room wasn't cleaned for the 3 nights we were there. Had problem with ants in the room. We didn't know Breakfast was at the sister hotel which was a 10 minute walk away. Staff seemed unprofessional and not always available.

Everything. The rooms are excellent.

The size of the accommodation - bedroom and bathroom were huge and it also had a lovely big balcony with plenty of seating options. Was spotlessly clean as well. Location is perfect - straight out the gate onto the main street yet the property remained quiet. Luna the puppy was so cute and friendly too.

Great room! The dog 😁

I wish they had hot/warm water to use the bathtub

Lovely well maintained property. Huge stylish room. Owner and his wife super accommodating and friendly. Luna the puppy id a treasure.

Nothing at all to dislike

Our stay at Kingfisher Bamboo Garden Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that truly set the tone for our entire stay. The villa itself is a hidden gem on the bustling Welle Devala road, providing the perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. Our accommodation was impeccable, with spacious and beautifully decorated rooms that exuded comfort and style. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the villa, from the thoughtfully curated decor to the modern amenities provided. The service at Kingfisher Bamboo Garden Villa was exceptional, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. From arranging transportation to organizing excursions, they were always on hand to assist us with a smile. Last but not least, the food was absolutely delicious. We indulged in a variety of authentic Sri Lankan and Westen dishes from their beach restaurant, each bursting with flavor and made with fresh, local ingredients. Overall, our experience at Kingfisher Bamboo Garden Villa was truly unforgettable. It's the perfect destination for anyone seeking relaxation and unparalleled hospitality. We can't wait to return!

kingfisher bamboo garden was a great place to stay, comfortable big room. great value for money. lovely friendly host. it’s like an oasis amidst the beautiful busy village of Unawatuna.

Highly recommend! I had a amazing experience at the Kingfisher Bamboo Vila; staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were great. The room was wonderful, clean, and perfect! Excellent property and very convenient to all the restaurants and shops. I visited their Restaurant , Kingfisher Unawatuna Hotel. Which is a 2mins walk. Food was Excellent. Lobsters, Crab, Oysters, Etc. was fresh from the boat! Unawatuna Beach was out the world. Had a amazing time in Sri Lanka!

Nothing to complain , Just perfect and a great holiday experience at Kingfisher Unawatuna.
