1. Good location. No doubt about that. 2. The bed was nice (clean and comfortable). 3. The bathroom was good but the shower is rather small. 4. Hot water in the shower was good and quick to become comfortable.

1. The key system is not acceptable. I could open my colleague room with my key and my colleague could open my door with her key. Huge security fail. 2. Bad room service. I stayed for 7 nights and only after the first night was the room cleaned and the bed prepared. 3. The hotel was rather expensive compare to faulty key system and bad room service.

I stayed 7 nights for work. My expectations were according to earlier reviews, there is: might need some cleaning, sometimes loud but in general should be OK. After 5 nights stay we found out, after my coworker locked himself out of his room early in the morning and I had to call someone (who resolved the problem in 10 minutes time) - that the key for my room also worked on my colleagues room - and his key could open my room. To be clear: our rooms were 2 separate bookings. I called and I was told they must have made a housekeeping master keys for both of us by accident. I asked how many guests had keys to my room - and I was told they would get back to me with an update. After that they completely ignored my messages and questions - no one came to check on us - no apologies - we never met anyone - and we held on to the master keys rest of stay! Nobody switched keys with us. I did not feel safe and needless to say: I couldn't sleep for the last days and I was in Kilkenny for work. Room was dirty when I got there, the toilet seat had been wiped but toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned for some time. Deep cleaning the room and bathroom was long overdue. Breadcrumbs and stick on the nightstands. There was a big, sticky stain on the carpet, and a towel from a previous guest on the radiator. There was no wardrobe or anything to hang up my coat and the mirror is both high up and in a corner/nook so it was difficult for me to see. For the 7 days I was there, housekeeping visited once to empty the trash. Wifi didn't work. I was willing to overlook all these things since the bed-sheets were clean and really I was only there to sleep between long workdays, I just put a clean towel over the sticky parts of the carpet and so on. But questionable keys to my room is not something that can be overlooked and left me sleepless the last 2 days. All my questions ignored and a promised update never came.

De locatie van de accommodatie was ideaal. Gelegen in het centrum en in de buurt van diverse toeristen attracties.

De hygiëne van de ruimte was ondermaats. Er zaten diverse vlekken op alle muren. De toilet was smerig. Ew.

Perfect location, easy check in and checkout, prompt responses to inquiries, great parking nearby, updated decor and comfortable.

Could have used some cleaning in the vanity drawers, shower drain was a little clogged, the coffee maker didn’t work and the WiFi was glitchy on our last night.

Location was brilliant and beds were comfy.

We were at the top of the stairs so a climb to get there after a night out as we’re not on the young side! That was fine as we took our time but horrible guest on a lower floor wasn’t happy about our struggle and was extremely loud and rude. But we didn’t let her ruin our weekend, thank you for a lovely stay!

Good location, handy to everything

2 flights of stairs to room, stairwell not well lit and smelt musty. Room quite small. No available drinking water. For the price we paid I would have expected more. It wouldn't cost much to have bottles water in the room

It was very central to all the main spots in Kilkenny.

Situated in an ideal location. It was a little gem. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location

This is not the fault of the property as it was during a heatwave, but a fan in the room during particularly hot months would be very helpful. The windows do open it let air in and there are nice black out curtains but the street can be loud (again, no fault of the property).

It was close to everything

The room was a bit grubby especially the bathroom. No staff so can't comment but I did request an earlier check in than 4pm and got an automatic decline, so I don't know who even monitors this place. There were teabags but no kettle. And a coffee machine but no coffee pods. For 215 euro a night i would expect at least that. But it's rip off Ireland again, thankfully only had to stay one night.

1 roll of toilet paper, 3 days...kettle full of grime, milk was gone off, no shower gel, enough for 1 shower, no rubbish bags...etc. disappointing because location was spot on

There was urine on the carpet. The room smelt of urine. I said this to the company and they didn't not reply.

6 flights of stairs carrying a 30kg suitcase was difficult. I didn’t realise there wasnt a lift. Very noisy with the windows opened as it was very hot and no fans, no coffee pods and the key to the door didn’t work.

The place didn't look like the picture on the photo it looked like a big wearhouse from the outside no coffee and the tassimo machine didn't work the carpets were filthy not a suitable place for older people the front of the place needs to be painted when I first saw the place I thought this is a kip and I was thinking of just getting the train back home no staff if anything went wrong you would be in trouble might be suitable for students over priced for the accomadation

They put me in a run down room that of cigarette smoke. The bed was also lumpy and was sunken in in the middle. I asked to be switched to another room. The staff was very embarrassed and accommodating. My next room was OK. Not great, but OK. I would not stay there again.

The hotel is overpriced..no staff on site and no answer to provided phone number. It was smelly and our room had am cracked window glass. Poor value and definitely wouldn't stay there again. We moved into a much better hotel for another night

The Smell when you walked in was overpowering- musk/mould.. Absiloutly horrible The hairdryer was held together with masking tape that melted when i put the hairdryer on- had to go out and get another form of tape to try hold it together.The Shower was a joke- stand in nd no room to move...As somebody from Kilkenny this place is a disgrace nd would have expected a lot more..To be honist how they get away with their pricing is abhorent

- very central, like almost next door to the Roth House and very close to pubs, restaurants... but not too close either, so that it was quiet. - Asked for a quiet room away from pubs/roads and got a room close to a parking site that has a lot less traffic + no pub noise. - self-using tea/coffee preparations. - comfortable bed.

- Like most amenities in Ireland, no aircon and it fell on the weekend it was very hot (summer heat wave), so it was very warm in the room and had trouble sleeping. - Carpets everywhere, it feels the dust as soon as you get into the building (I'm allergic to dust). - No reception, so if you are stuck with check-in, you have to call. Nonetheless, the problem was sorted very quickly.

The room smelled of fecal matter. It was disgusting. Other guests came in at 2am drunk and screamed at each other for 2 hours. They then played incredibly load music for another hour. When we tried to get them to shut up they told us to fuck off

No parking eventhough it said there was. Carpets all needed to be hoovered- crumbs on our floor. Very expensive considering there was no facilities or breakfast included

Shower broken the whole time, power went out. Had to ring staff on multiple occasions and the problem wasn’t fixed. Attempted to contact property about this afterwards and have been ignored.

I liked the room, the bed was comfortable, i fell asleep almost instantly and it was well made when we walked in. I enjoyed the freebies and how it was so close to everything I wanted to do in kilkenny, so handy. The room look generally pretty clean ofcourse and pretty much what I wanted from the booking.

The first day we got there, the shower was working just fine however after our 3rd day the water pressure seemed to be acting up and so we couldn't take a shower which was kind of sad. There were random noises from the radiators but I take it, that's not something that can really be helped which is okay, the Internet was a wee bit buffery at times and that's all I can think of. Not super annoying, just small nitpicks and inconveniences but I can see it annoying people who are staying much longer than us.

As we are senior citizens we had to climb appx.60 steps to access our room other than that the room was clean but no staff anywhere in the building so we had no contact with anyone if there was an emergency I don't think that we would stay there again

Location was perfect....walkable to everything.

Extremely noisy. A number of rooms had very noisy occupants in and out, slamming doors, talking loudly until 2:30am. Also, the street noise made sleeping very difficult. And there are way too many stairs to get to the rooms and no elevator.

In the high street close to everything. There is a carpark under the arch next door (2.2m height limit) and another open one across the way. The castle is only 500m away

I was ill and they worked with us to check in early. Also, the most comfortable bed we slept in during our time in Ireland!

The bed is very comfortable.

Easily accessible and spotlessly clean. Quick check out. An offering of breakfast would be great but there is a lovely place right next door. And place is in the middle of Kilkenny so you have lots of option. Even though it was in the centre, it was very quiet and this was on Saturday night.

Breakfast offering would be great. A bit expensive for a hostal even though it is more like a hotel without reception.

Location was good everything else not. There was food left on the floor - obviously had not been cleaned properly. Walls were thin and door not at all sound proofed - lots of noise from other guestes. No remote for TV so could not turn it on (no buttons on the TV itself. No response from thje person whose number was given for issues.
