it is a very calm and quiet place, with kind and supportive staff who attend to all our requests promptly. The rooms are naturally ventilated, giving you the wonderful experience of sleeping close to the sea. They served warm, home-style meals for breakfast and dinner, including fresh fish and chicken. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again. We also learned that bird watching is possible in the nearby areas during the bird migration periods, which would be an added attraction for nature lovers.

Although the rooms with balconies offer beautiful views of the sea, we chose not to stay in one because the private bathroom is located outside the room.

Dit was een absolute topervaring! Een unieke locatie met heel toffe huisjes op palen! Oog voor ecologie, duurzaamheid is écht top! We aten hier de lekkerste crab curry and cuttlefish curry op de hele reis! Absolute aanrader!

Le site est au bord de la mer, il y a plein de bateaux de pecheurs devant. Le site est beau et calme, très propre, avec des maisons en bois rustiques et confortables, pas du tout de moustiques car il y a du vent. Le propriétaire parle très bien anglais, il est très sympathique et nous a beaucoup aidé, notamment une fois où notre transport était tombé en panne, il est venu nous chercher. Le personnel de l'hôtel etait super, ce sont tous des habitants de l'île. Et la nourriture était excellente.

Die Unterkunft war hervorragend für unseren Aufenthalt. Ruhige, idyllische Lage außerhalb der Stadt. Mit dem Tuk Tuk kam man trotzdem gut und schnell nach Jaffna und zu anderen Orten gelangen. Falls dies nicht möglich war, hat der Gastgeber alles mögliche organisiert. Außerdem wurden wir über alle möglichen Aktivitäten beraten. Alle Mitarbeitenden waren stets freundlich und zuvorkommend.

The place is clean and quite basic. The food menu is very limited, with only a few simple options available. That said, the dishes we had were well prepared. Overall, it feels overpriced for the experience offered.

Lovely new cabins beside the shore. The owner was particularly helpful and even drove myself and another guest to a good bird watching spot about 5 minutes away. The food was very good and I enjoyed being in the "real" Sri Lanka, surrounded by fishermen and local village life.

Tolles Konzept! Der Besitzer legt großen Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit. Es können keine Plastikflaschen gekauft werden. Das Essen kommt aus eigenem, biologischem Anbau, auch hier wird Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt. Es werden bewusst Menschen aus dem Village eingestellt, das unterstützt die Bevölkerung vor Ort.

Leider ist das Resort etwas abseits. Wir hatten eine Fahrer, so konnten wir unproblematisch Ausflüge nach Jaffna und Delft machen. Wir dachten es gäbe einen Strand, den gab es leider doch nicht.

The glamping experience. Lovely huts. Very helpful employees. Delicious breakfast. Great to have a kayak and help taking it to the water. Enjoyed seeing rural life and fishermen and farming. Good to be away from the bustle of Jaffna itself. Nishaa gave us a ride to Jaffna and easy to get Tuk Tuk back. The Hindu temple was fascinating in Jaffna . Very comfortable beds

This place is a real gem, perfect to recharge after the hecticness of Jaffna city. I loved the tranquil waterfront setting. The staff were so welcoming & attentive. The owner Nishaa is dedicated to providing sustainable accommodation with low environmental impact & creating jobs for local people. He drove me to a little known bird watching spot great for seeing water birds at dusk & has plans to put a birdwatching shelter there. I loved my early morning walk where I saw bee eaters, kingfishers, a woodpecker & an Indian roller. There’s also a bike you can use to explore and a new canoe to take out for a paddle. The huts were well made with super comfy beds, a mosquito net to keep bugs at bay & a good fan with a sleep setting. Breakfast was great & the wifi connection is good.

Fantastische cabanas, heerlijk windje - no need for AC... Ontbijt was superb, vergeet fried eggs, go for Sri Lankan breakfast - helemaal geweldig!! Super vriendelijke staff♥️

This is an exceptional place where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of every day life, where you are lulled to sleep at night the sound of waves. The eco-conscious huts are exceptionally well made and comfortable. Staff are universally friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Do not miss the cuttlefish curry which is to die for. The very friendly owner went out of his way to help me plan my days in Jaffna. Highly recommended

It is a long way from Jaffna, although the owner is happy to arrange tuk tuk pick ups and drop offs to various places of interest in the area such as Delft island. The nearby beach is not suitable for swimming due to the washing up of plastic. The owner is trying to deal with this however and we can only hope the local government takes the issue more seriously in the future

We absolutely loved our stay, and would love to stay again. The location was beautiful and very peaceful, the huts were lovely, built from the Palmyra tree. The staff really looked after us, and there was a TukTuk we could book for trips. Breakfasts were delicious.

We loved the location but it was a distance to get to the city or other sights.

Borassus è un'ottima opzione per chi desidera esplorare tutta l'area zona intorno a Jaffna e al contempo potersi rilassare lontano dal caos. La struttura è situata in un villaggio di pescatori (e questo purtroppo non rende semplice fare un bagno alla spiaggia di fronte) totalmente immerso nella natura e vita locale, lontano dal caos. Le Cabanas sono in ottimo stato, aperte alla brezza marina. Da menzionare il ristorante, veramente ottimo! Soggiorno perfetto, con la speranza che questa iniziativa possa portare a riqualificare un pochino la zona circostante, ricca di natura e cultura!

Purtroppo la spiaggia di fronte al resort non è balneabile, ma non è qualcosa che dipende dalla struttura. Il posto vale comunque il viaggio fino a lì!

A wonderful experience here. Quite remote and next to a sleepy fishing village, the huts have been lovingly constructed using local materials. They are open to the elements, which allows the fresh ocean breeze to blow through (quite strongly at times!) and keep the rooms cool. Mosquito nets are provided, although we didn’t see any mosquitoes - but still offers protection from various bugs that visit at night, and the pesky flies during the daytime. Some of the huts have steep stairs to access the bedroom upstairs, while the bathroom and toilet are situated separately downstairs (not recommended for the elderly or disabled). However, three new huts have recently opened, that are ground level and have attached bathrooms. The whole place has been built with regard to ecological concerns. The staff (also hired locally) are wonderful and there is a very talented young chef named Ashwin who, in addition to preparing delicious meals, acts as a general manager in the absence of the owner. The property also has its own tuk tuk, which is handy for trips around the island or to Jaffna (29 km away). We would definitely recommend a stay here - it’s a totally different and unique experience, among lovely hospitable people.

Wow… what to say … to have fallen off the edge of the world and landed in Paradise. Out of the hot humid towns and into a refreshing, most peaceful place. What makes this place special are the people. Helpful yet not fussy. Hardworking yet not stressful. There is a calm, friendly and lovely camaraderie.

The Wi-Fi could be weak but it wasn’t a problem. They are fixing a booster to help.

Alles! Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt. Eine einmalige Unterkunft in Jaffna. Die Hütten sind aus dem „Borassus“ Baum und alles mit einem sehr nachhaltigen Gedanken. Wir fanden es bewundernswert mit welcher Hingabe der Besitzer das Areal aufbauen möchte. Er wird das ganze noch ausbauen. Für uns war es perfekt; es war ruhig und komfortabel. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen!

The huts right on the coast of Mandaitivu were a dream! The huts were decorated with great attention to detail, equipped with everything you need, and the restaurant, hammocks and volleyball net made the stay perfect. The staff was very helpful and very friendly - you can feel their warmth. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. If you enjoy the peace and quiet and to cool off with the breeze, this is the perfect place to be.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good food. The vegetable curry is the best i've had! Luxurious and well made huts. A lot of room, musquito net and musquito spray/diffuser. There is a authentical beach next to the hotel and it makes for a perfect walk with great vieuws of the fisherman and their boats.

The fisherman are not friendly. It smells around the harbour. Dogs are annoying. But they're fixing the 'beaches' so it's only getting better. The beach in walking distance was not for swimming. It's a bit far from everything but you'll have to take a tuktuk in Jaffna anyways so it made it extra authentic and special. I liked that. There are no windows in our room. That's what made this stay so amazing. It's glamping. But when you're glamping, you have to keep in mind some bugs. Even with a musquito net.

So the hotel is located in a very calm and peaceful area, making it truly an experience to live. The cabins/bungalows are really unique; it’s an experience to have, and the meal served is excellent. The servers/employees are also very respectful and very friendly. A little hello to Lakshi who handled my check-in and check-out and was extremely kind.

A lovely little oasis in a quiet spot in a little fishing village. The manager was super helpful, he arranged a delicious meal on the evening of our arrival and gave us so much local information to make sure we enjoyed the area. The nature huts are beautifully constructed and comfortable.

Although it didn't spoil our stay in anyway it might be a nice touch to provide a place where you could make your own hot drink.

We stayed only one night. There were a lot of mosquitos. They don't ask for breakfast options.

Amazing spot right by the beach, only 15 mins Tuktuk from jaffna city but super peaceful location to stay. There’s so many birds flying around out here! The staff are very attentive and kind and the food is amazing. The owner went out of his way to help us enjoy our time there and we felt really sad to leave!

Peaceful, clean and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and cooked us some delicious Jaffna food. The room was comfortable and great shower and toilet facilities.

The structure is beautiful, the staff is warm, welcoming, and very efficient. The kitchen is delicious (maybe a little bit more vegetables and fruit would have been perfect).

The structure is in a remote place and it's perfect if you want to stay far away from the crowds of the city, however the beach in front is very dirty (a lot of plastic) and not very pleasant, maybe cleaning it would be a big improvement for the whole structure (and environment). Even though the structure promotes a sustainable tourism every night a smoke made out of an engine is spread to kill mosquitoes with the result of many other insects being killed which I found not sustainable and unhealthy.

Unique accomodation with authentic Jaffna materials. Clean, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful local fishing village. The food made by the staff was delicious and Jaffna style. 10/10

Remote location closer to nature and facing the sea. The staff are very friendly and the food is authentic to the region. Currently there is no onsite resturant and the guest are ecpected to preorder the food.

I didn't like it.. I absolutely loved it! This is the place to be for any nature lover who is seeking an authentic experience off the beaten path. Just outside of a small fisherman's village and sourranded by outstanding landscapes and birds, this small lodge (just 4 chalets) is a real jem. The owner is super nice and he truly makes all the efforts he can to ensure an unforgettable and smooth experience to his guests. But any member of the staff is very attentive and ready to help. The chalets are truly beautiful, based on eco-sustanable architecture, are well designed, original and extremely comfortable... and the breeze during the night is just something you have to experience by yourself. I had a vegetarian dinner and a local breakfast and both meals were locals and very very good! Everything is just perfect and I think this place, its people and its soul have something special.

I didn't like stay just for one night!! This place definitely deserves much more time!

Beautiful huts made with local wood and local people on a little fishermans island. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The manager is very friendly and available for all your questions and request. The place is surrounded by the sea, the sand, the palmtrees, the birds and all the wild nature. There are also two friendly cats. There are hamacs and beach-volley field . You can rent bicycles or book a boat trip. But be aware, the place is a little far form any other accommodation, shops, restaurants ans city. Great place to relax and have some rest and calm in a beautiful nature frame.
