Location, style and cleanliness.

The robes were course. You would think such a high end hotel would have soft dressing gowns. Not robes that felt like sand paper.

Cleanliness could be better Lighting at the desk would be useful Room was a bit dark and was very close to the other building so the blinds had to be closed all the time Blackout curtains fixed so couldnt open to let light in

From the welcome on arrival to the farewell on departure, an excellent stay throughout. Great service at breakfast - good choice of continental option and hot breakfast options too.

The receptionist said the room wasn't ready and let me get changed in the bathroom,and let my fri ends wait t in reception, then she took my bag into the he back, so I wouldn't be late for the carnival.

Lovely hotel in a good position to all shops , bars and restaurants etc. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel bar was comfortable and relaxing and the whole hotel is decorated to a great standard. I would highly recommend staying,

Lovely hotel within an easy walk of the station. Every member of staff we met were very helpful and friendly one young lady carried my wife's luggage down the stairs to reception and Mollie the bar person was exceptionally pleasant. Room was a bit dark for our taste but very clean and the bed was comfortable.

Reception and the bar/restaurant is on the lower ground floor and there is no direct access to the street you either have to walk up a flight of stairs from Reception or down a flight of stairs from first floor to exit the hotel. Brighter lighting needed in bedroom especially above mirrors.

Much more should be made of the load music noise from the surrounding night life which went on until the early hours. The heavy base went on until 2-3am

We had a 3 night stay here and really enjoyed it, the beds were comfortable and the hotel is central with great staff (they even remembered our dogs name on check out). Just a couple of minor snags we picked up on.. The power of the shower was terrible, the water just trickled out. Although we opted in to have our room cleaned it wasn’t, therefore our Towels weren’t changed and the Toilet Roll, Tea & Coffee weren’t replenished, the reception staff did immediately bring some more tea & coffee when we asked but we had to go find the cleaning staff to ask for clean Towels and more toilet roll. Other than that it was a really enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Lovely hotel - I felt at home as soon as I got through the door. A friendly & easy check-in. Everything spotlessly clean, white cotton bedding, feather pillows, & pleasant furnishings with everything provided & in the right place. Fantastic cooked breakfast & evening cocktails were lovely. I stayed in a standard double & it had a huge bed, an opening window & lots of room. Bathroom felt opulent, everything worked. I can’t fault it. They even had a tribute to Dolly Parton up in reception in the morning as her death had been announced the night before.

The staff at breakfast had obviously never been near any sort of training, no chat, passed plates across the table , no recall of what customer had ordered, no smiles, scruffy, as though they had walked in off the street !!! they should be trained !!!!!!! We stayed in the suite but to be honest I think it needs a bit of a revamp. Not the cleanest and furniture looking very tired with chips on drawers ,scuffs on chairs and frayed carpet. Might aswel save your money and book a standard room.

Loved everything about this hotel and room perfect location, we were very lucky and able to check in well before check in time stated which we were very Greatful for.

Bed was very comfy. Good facilities. I loved the option to swap a room clean for a free drink - this was absolutely perfect given we were only staying for 2 nights. The room was an excellent size and having large windows and high ceilings made it feel extra spacious. Location couldnt have been more convenient.

The room was clean-ish. The phone and bedside table were quite dusty and the bathroom didnt have a good finish. But it was perfectly serviceable.

The. Breakfast was very poor, small portions and slow service, only 1 coffee machine for the number of people at breakfast. Bathrooms could do with walk-in showers rather than a shower above a bath

Hand towels in the room were dirty on arrival and the shower door flooded the bathroom when it was used. We had a club room but I can’t see what made it different from a normal double.

We were placed in a room which as an adjoining room with a door between. We were kept up very late on the evening because of the hen part next door and hearing this through the adjoining door - this wouldn’t have been a problem if the door was not there.

One bath towel for two people had to get extra daily. Breakfast was decent but staff overwhelmed daily making our orders take more than 30 minutes. Bar staff unfriendly which explained why bar was empty on Saturday night when we went for drinks. Was greeted with "have to charge to room we can't take cash, are you staying here". Got a drink and took to room very unpleasant atmosphere.

The communal areas were okay.

The rooms were tiny. The bed was the smallest bed I have ever slept in since I was a child - a small double at most. The bathroom was hideously tiny. The toilet was so close to the toilet roll holder it was uncomfortable. I didn't see a kettle (it could have been hidden in the wardrobe which is where I found the towels). No slippers, no bathrobes, no amenities at all. Very very basic. I booked the most expensive hotel I could find (and having stayed in Malmaison in Liverpool - which was fantastic) I had high hopes. I was extremely disappointed and would not return. And will not be recommending the hotel to anyone.

Would have been a perfect stay if id have managed to get more than 3.5hrs sleep due to staff allowing another guest to leave a barking dog alone in a room for over 2hours (which is against hotel policy) even after numerous complaints from myself and other guests.

The hotel is in a good central position. Close to all the shops, and a short walk from the station.

I didn't like the ambience, or the room at all. It was clean, and it was quiet but the decor is awful. The outside of the building leads you believe the inside would be a smart, French style. It isn't. Walls are grey, curtains are almost black, the shelves which serve no purpose at all, black. Carpet old and blackish. The wall behind the bed is decorated as if New York back alley graffiti in the 70s. Seriously depressing. Plus the TV was at angle on the shelves, so you couldn't watch from your bed.

We visit a lot of Malmaison hotels and whilst this isn’t our favourite it’s still very good. The service was excellent. The room was ok but not brilliant compared to its sister hotels. We ate on “steak night” and everything was very well cooked and the service truly excellent.

Really good location, good carpark next door with sizeable discount for pre booking with the Malmaison code. Staff were so friendly and gave us a free cocktail when they found out we were celebrating. Even the most standard room was gorgeous, clean, very comfortable, good quality tea and coffee, air conditioning etc. Would definitely use this chain again in other cities.

Housekeeping trolleys outside room at 3.30pm you’d expect it in the morning but when you’re paying for a decent room you don’t expect to see clutter in the corridors. Also my air con did not work properly even though I’d asked someone to sort it. Other rooms and breakfast area air con was good.

What an amazing stay from start to finish! Ross on reception was absolutely brilliant and had my room ready well before check-in, which was such a lovely surprise and the perfect way to kick off my Leeds Pride weekend. The room was stunning, spotless, stylish and incredibly comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better – everything was within easy walking distance. A special mention also goes to Brogan on the bar, who made me the most beautiful, refreshing drink before I headed home. It was the perfect send-off! Every member of staff was warm, welcoming and genuinely made me feel valued. I can’t wait to return.

The staff were so lovely and helpful ! And the place looked beautiful.

My room was the cheaper end .. still not cheap though and my room smelt musty. Not only this but the rooms are not sound proofed and are next to alot of clubs. This means if your room falls out the front it is very loud most of the night.. the music alot starts up early. The breakfast is also so expensive.. if you have allergies its not really worth it as you just get less on your plate.. there should be the full breakfast when you are paying £23. Probably better off heading into town for breakfast.

Hotel was perfectly located for my needs room was clean and well presented staff were polite and friendly bed was comfy and even though there was a lot of noise outside not hotels fault was pride weekend I had a amazing nights sleep

Only criticism I really have is that there could do with a normal plug at side of bed not just a USB charging plug as i have a usc to usc cable so had to plug my phone in at other side of room x
