The Saunacabin Enchanted Lapland

Es war alles fantastisch. Wir sind schon sehr viel gereist und das war die beste Unterkunft, die wir jemals hatten: eine traumhafte Lage direkt am Waldrand, extrem hilfsbereite Hosts und eine durchdachte Ausstattung der Cabin.

We loved our stay at this cute, cosy cabane! The location is beautiful, and the sauna and jacuzzi were perfect for relaxing. The owners are lovely people who made us feel so welcome, we totally recommend it!

Just a heads-up for future guests: there isn’t a traditional shower in the cabin, but you can shower directly in the sauna or use the shower in the owners' house.

The location, setup, property itself. The way Jenny had the place setup was so comforting. The sauna and hot tub were a welcome accommodation. Also we got an incredible view of the northern lights from our cabin which made the trip more perfect!!

Wir haben wirklich nichts auszusetzen! Es war von Anfang bis Ende alles stimmig. Jenny und ihr Mann haben sich um alles mögliche gekümmert, man konnte sie für jegliche Fragen kontaktieren und es war immer wieder Holz für die Sauna aufgefüllt. Den Hot Tube hatten sie nach Anregung am nächsten Tag etwas weniger geheizt, somit konnte man einige Stunden sogar dort bei Minusgraden aushalten. Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht und sich auf das Wesentliche im Leben konzentrieren möchte (ein Hot Tube und eine Sauna sind jetzt davon ausgeschlossen), der ist hier genau richtig. Selbst wenn man nicht in der Sauna tradiotionell nicht duschen möchte, dem wurde sogar noch eine Dusche im Eigenheim angboten. Jeder Zeit würden wir gerne wieder kommen, wir vermissen jetzt schon die tollen Aufenthalt.

Wir haben wirklich nichts auszusetzen. Wenn es eine Möglichkeit gäbe, Kaffee zu machen, z.B. mit einer French press, wäre das natürlich noch perfekt, aber es hat auch ohne gereicht.

Jen was very accomodating and welcoming during our stay. We enjoyed a sauna and hot tub everyday which Jen kindly prepared for us. Everything was very clean and tidy, with enough amenities to get by.

This was the best place I have ever stayed in. So cozy, and very clean. The hosts are extremely welcoming and we were able to reach them at any time. If you are worried about this cabin being in the backyard of the hosts house, don’t be. Unless you are wanting to talk to the hosts, they completely stay out of your zone and with the way the cabin is built, you completely forget that there is a „main house“. Sauna is very nice and they provide essential oils shampoos etc. to make it even better. Due to our flights being switched up by the airlines we didn’t have time to use the jacuzzi but i‘m sure it would have been great (they do charge a fee to use the jacuzzi, just a heads up). We almost left without going on a walk but then last minute decided to just take a few steps on the path that starts right at the cabin. So glad we made that decision because that walk on the path in the literal backyard of the cabin was the most beautiful moment of our trip. Such pretty scenery and absolutely no other people around. The coziness of the cabin and kindness of the hosts really make this a once in a lifetime gem. Only spent one night there but it was absolutely amazing.

There is really nothing i didn’t like. The prize may seem like a lot but most places in rovaniemi are more expensive and trust me, you won’t regret paying a little extra for how amazing this cabin and it’s hosts are

It was very warm and clean. The hostess was very helpful and kind. You don’t have to rent a car because there is a bus but they run until 7-8 pm. Overall it was and amazing experience and the hostess made it even better!

The cabin was out of this world, a once in a lifetime experience, host was very welcoming and helped in what ever way she could. The views the snow, the sauna, the hot tub and the cabin could not have been more perfect.

Title: Amazing Stay – Highly Recommend! We had a wonderful time staying here. The place was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfy, and we had everything we needed. The location was perfect – close to everything but still quiet and peaceful. We loved the views and how relaxing the whole place felt. The host was so friendly and helpful, giving great tips on what to do in the area and making sure we had a great stay. Our view amazing, above us aurora lights. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay! Rating: 5/5

Nice quiet neighborhood, just a short drive away from the city center. Directly connected to a nature path along the river. Host was very welcoming and helpful.

Only con I can think of is that there is no shower directly in the cabin. In our case we didn’t care cause we only stayed for one night.

Our recent stay at The Saunacabin was nothing short of magical! Nestled privately in a forest setting, the cabin has views of beautiful snowy trees. Perfectly sized for two, it was clean, modern, and cosy, with all the amenities you could need for a relaxing getaway. Jenny and her partner were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless. From the moment we arrived, Jenny was friendly, communicative, and helpful, providing thoughtful touches like woolly socks, head torches, dressing gowns, and a detailed booklet packed with tips about the area, local recommendations, and much more. The cabin’s sauna and hot tub were one of the highlights of our trip, with both positioned to overlook the enchanting forest! Jenny had everything set up for us upon arrival and kindly heated them daily, so they were ready whenever we returned from exploring. Washing in the sauna was an authentic Finnish experience we really enjoyed, and while Jenny generously offered the use of the shower in the main building, the sauna facilities were more than enough for us. The kitchen was well-equipped with a stove and microwave, making it easy to prepare meals after a long day out. On one of our first days, we decided to explore the area by hiring electric fat bikes from Jenny. As visitors from the UK, we were initially unsure about cycling, but Jenny reassured us that Finland’s dedicated bike lanes made it very safe. She was absolutely right! We had the best day cycling, even riding to Santa Claus Village, which was another highlight of our trip. The location of the cabin is another huge plus. It’s just a 15 minute drive from Rovaniemi Airport (a 20€ Uber ride) and just 5km from the city, making it convenient for exploring while still feeling secluded. There is a nature trail right outside the cabin too, which leads you to amazing views of the frozen river and beach. We stayed in early December for my birthday, and it truly felt like the perfect winter holiday.

We enjoyed staying at the Saunacabin. Jenny is a super host, she made us feel right at home & took care of all our needs. The location is great & we got to see the Northern Lights right outside the cabin. The Finnish sauna was a great experience too! We would love to return for a longer stay in the future.

The cabin is newly built and nicely equipped. The materials were of high quality. Everything needed was found. The cabin was located in the backyard, but we were able to be completely at peace. We recommend renting a hot tub, it was a great experience. There were atmospheric lights on the terrace. The host was very friendly and helpful. We got quick answers to questions.

There was no proper shower in the cabin, but you could wash yourself in the sauna.

The owner of the property (Jenny) warmly received us and led us to the cabin straight away. She explained everything we needed to know about the cabin and showed us how to use the Sauna and the whirlpool. She really made us feel welcome. You can see that the owners put a lot of effort and time in the creation and decoration of this cabin. You immediately feel comfortable when entering the cabin and the view into the forest and the open sky is just wonderful. We can highly recommend this location and would definitely come back for our next trip to Rovaniemi.

It's not that we didn't like it we just think that it would be nice to know for some guests that there is no "normal" shower and toilet. You wash yourself in the sauna with a pot of warm water and there is a chemical toilet in the cabin. Like I said before it didn't bother us at all, but I think this might be good to know in advance.

The property was quiet and beautiful with wonderful views of the forest and a walking trail to the river. The cabin was comfortable. We loved the private sauna and hot tub - such a nice way to relax for the afternoon.

We spent a night as part of a roadtrip, this place had a very friendly staff, very clean and modern room, sauna and hot tub. Peaceful and charming place, highly recommended!
